2Focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 regulates bone homeostasis in mice显示文摘Our recent studies demonstrate that the focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 is critical for chondrogenesis and early skeletal development. Here, we show that deleting Kindlin-2 from osteoblasts using the 2.3-kb mouse Col1 a1-Cre transgene minimally impacts bone mass in mice, but deleting Kindlin-2 using the 10-kb mouse Dmp1-Cre transgene, which targets osteocytes and mature osteoblasts, results in striking osteopenia in mice. Kindlin-2 loss reduces the osteoblastic population but increases the osteoclastic and adipocytic populations in the bone microenvironment. Kindlin-2 loss upregulates sclerostin in osteocytes,downregulates β-catenin in osteoblasts, and inhibits osteoblast formation and differentiation in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation ofβ-catenin in the mutant cells reverses the osteopenia induced by Kindlin-2 deficiency. Kindlin-2 loss additionally increases the expression of RANKL in osteocytes and increases osteoclast formation and bone resorption. Kindlin-2 deletion in osteocytes promotes osteoclast formation in osteocyte/bone marrow monocyte cocultures, which is significantly blocked by an anti-RANKLneutralizing antibody. 3The chromosome-based lavender genome provides new in sights into Lamiaceae evolution and terpenoid biosynthesis显示文摘The aromatic shrub Lavandula angustifolia produces various volatile terpenoids that serve as resources for essential oils and function in plant-insect communication.To better understand the genetic basis of the terpenoid diversity in lavender,we present a high-quality reference genome for the Chinese lavender cultivar‘Jingxun 2'using PacBio and Hi-C technologies to anchor the 894.50 Mb genome assembly into 27 pseudochromosomes.In addition to the y triplication event,lavender underwent two rounds of whole-genome duplication(WGD)during the Eocene-Oligocene(29.6 MYA)and Miocene-Pliocene(6.9 MYA)transitions.As a result of tandem duplications and lineage-specific WGDs,gene families related to terpenoid biosynthesis in lavender are substantially expanded compared to those of five other species in Lamiaceae.Many terpenoid biosynthesis transcripts are abundant in glandular trichomes.We further integrated the contents of ecologically functional terpenoids and coexpressed terpenoid biosynthetic genes to construct terpenoid-gene networks.Typical gene clusters,including TPS-TPS,TPS-CYP450,and TPS-BAHD,linked with compounds that primarily function as attractants or repellents,were identified by their similar patterns of change during flower development or in response to methyl jasmonate.Comprehensive analysis of the genetic basis of the production of volatiles in lavender could serve as a foundation for future research into lavender evolution,phytochemistry,and ecology.Jingrui Li Yiming Wang Yanmei Dong Wenying Zhang Di Wang Hongtong Bai Kui Li Hui Li Lei Shi 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:5

71.3 μm InAs/GaAs quantum dot lasers on silicon with GaInP upper cladding layers显示文摘We report on the first electrically pumped continuous-wave(CW) In As/Ga As quantum dot(QD) laser grown on Si with a GaInP upper cladding layer. A QD laser structure with a Ga_(0.51)In_(0.49)P upper cladding layer and an Al_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As lower cladding layer was directly grown on Si by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition. It demonstrates the postgrowth annealing effect on the QDs was relieved enough with the GaInP upper cladding layer grown at a low temperature of 550°C. Broad-stripe edge-emitting lasers with 2-mm cavity length and 15-μm stripe width were fabricated and characterized. 9LIM domain proteins Pinch1/2 regulate chondrogenesis and bone mass in mice显示文摘The LIM domain-containing proteins Pinch1/2 regulate integrin activation and cell–extracellular matrix interaction and adhesion.Here,we report that deleting Pinch1 in limb mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and Pinch2 globally(double knockout;dKO)in mice causes severe chondrodysplasia,while single mutant mice do not display marked defects.Pinch deletion decreases chondrocyte proliferation,accelerates cell differentiation and disrupts column formation.Pinch loss drastically reduces Smad2/3 protein expression in proliferative zone(PZ)chondrocytes and increases Runx2 and Col10a1 expression in both PZ and hypertrophic zone(HZ)chondrocytes.Pinch loss increases sclerostin and Rankl expression in HZ chondrocytes,reduces bone formation,and increases bone resorption,leading to low bone mass.In vitro studies revealed that Pinch1 and Smad2/3 colocalize in the nuclei of chondrocytes.Through its C-terminal region,Pinch1 interacts with Smad2/3 proteins.Pinch loss increases Smad2/3 ubiquitination and degradation in primary bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs).Pinch loss reduces TGF-β-induced Smad2/3 phosphorylation and nuclear localization in primary BMSCs.Interestingly,compared to those from single mutant mice,BMSCs from dKO mice express dramatically lower protein levels ofβ-catenin and Yap1/Taz and display reduced osteogenic but increased adipogenic differentiation capacity.Finally,ablating Pinch1 in chondrocytes and Pinch2 globally causes severe osteopenia with subtle limb shortening.Collectively,our findings demonstrate critical roles for Pinch1/2 and a functional redundancy of both factors in the control of chondrogenesis and bone mass through distinct mechanisms.Yiming Lei Xuekun Fu Pengyu Li Sixiong Lin Qinnan Yan Yumei Lai Xin Liu Yishu Wang Xiaochun Bai Chuanju Liu Di Chen Xuenong Zou Xu Cao Huiling Cao Guozhi Xiao 2020Bone Research2020,8,4:2
10Temperature dependent spectral response characteristic of Ⅲ-Ⅴ compound tandem cell显示文摘The GaInP/GaAs/Ge triple-junction tandem cells with a conversion efficiency of 27.1% were fabricated using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technique. Temperature dependence of the spectral response measurements of the GaInP/GaAs/Ge tandem cell was performed by a quantum effi- ciency system at temperatures ranging from 25℃ to 160℃. The red-shift phenomena of the absorption limit for all subcells were observed with increasing temperature, which is dued to the energy gap nar-rowing with temperature. The short-circuit current densities (Jsc) of GaInP, GaAs and Ge subcells at room temperature calculated based on the spectral response data were 12.9, 13.7 and 17 mA/cm2, re- spectively. 11Printable SnO2 cathode interlayer with up to 500 nm thickness-tolerance for high-performance and large-area organic solar cells显示文摘The printable electrode interlayer with excellent thickness tolerance is crucial for mass production of organic solar cells(OSCs)by solution-based print techniques. Herein, high-quality printable SnO2 films are simply fabricated by spin-coating or bladecoating the chemical precipitated SnO2 colloid precursor with post thermal annealing treatment. The SnO2 films possess outstanding optical and electrical properties, especially extreme thickness-insensitivity. The interfacial electron trap density of SnO2 cathode interlayers(CILs) are very low and show negligible increase as the thicknesses increase from 10 to 160 nm,resulting in slight change of the power conversion efficiencies(PCEs) of the PM6:Y6 based OSCs from 16.10% to 13.07%. For blade-coated SnO2 CIL, the PCE remains high up to 12.08% even the thickness of SnO2 CIL is high up to 530 nm. More strikingly, the large-area OSCs of 100 mm2 with printed SnO2 CILs obtain a high efficiency of 12.74%. 12Solar-Driven Producing of Value-Added Chemicals with Organic Semiconductor-Bacteria Biohybrid System显示文摘Photosynthetic biohybrid systems exhibit promising performance in biosynthesis;however,these systems can only produce a single metabolite and cannot further transform carbon sources into highly valuable chemical production.Herein,a photosynthetic biohybrid system integrating biological and chemical cascade synthesis was developed for solar-driven conversion of glucose to value-added chemicals.A new ternary cooperative biohybrid system,namely bacterial factory,was constructed by self-assembling of enzyme-modified light-harvesting donor-acceptor conjugated polymer nanoparticles(D-A CPNs)and genetically engineered Escherichia coli(E.coli).The D-A CPNs coating on E.coli could effectively generate electrons under light irradiation,which were transferred into E.coli to promote the 37%increment of threonine production by increasing the ratio of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH).Subsequently,the metabolized threonine was catalyzed by threonine deaminase covalently linking with D-A CPNs to obtain 2-oxobutyrate,which is an important precursor of drugs and chemicals.The 2-oxobutyrate yield under light irradiation is increased by 58%in comparison to that in dark.This work provides a new organic semiconductor-microorganism photosynthetic biohybrid system for biological and chemical cascade synthesis of highly valuable chemicals by taking advantage of renewable carbon sources and solar energy.Wen Yu Haotian Bai Yue Zeng Hao Zhao Shengpeng Xia Yiming Huang Fengting Lv Shu Wang 2022Research2022,,3:2

14Ag nanoparticles preparation and their light trapping performance显示文摘Ag nanoparticles were fabricated on Si substrates by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering and thermal annealing treatments.It was found that Ag nanoparticles are ellipsoid at low annealing temperature,but the axis ratio decreases with the increase of annealing temperature,and a shape transformation from ellipsoid to sphere occurs when the temperature increases to a critical point.The experimental results showed that the surface plasmon resonances depend greatly on the nanoparticles'shape and size,which is in accordance with the theoretical calculation based on discrete dipole approximation.The results of forward-scattering efficiency(FSE) and light trapping spectrum(LTS) showed that Ag nanoparticles annealed at 400°C could strongly enhance the light harvest than those annealed at 300 and 500°C,and that the LTS peak intensity of the former is 1.7 and 1.5 times stronger than those of the later two samples,respectively.The conclusions obtained in this paper showed that Ag ellipsoid nanoparticles with appropriate size is more favorable for enhancing the light trapping.BAI YiMing WANG Jun YIN ZhiGang CHEN NuoFu ZHANG XingWang FU Zhen YAO JianXi LI Ning HE HaiYang GULI MiNa 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,1:2
15Recent Advances of Monolithic All-Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells:From Materials to Devices显示文摘Organic-inorganic metal-halide perovskite solar cells(PerSCs)have achieved significant progresses due to their outstanding optoelectronic charac-teristics,and the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of single-junction PerSCs has been boosted from 3.8%to a certified 25.2%.However,the efficien-cy of single-junction cells is governed by the Shockley-Queisser(S-Q)radiative limit,and fabricating all-perovskite tandem solar cells is a particularly attractive method to break the S-Q limit.Since the bandgap of lead(Pb)-based mixed halide perovskite can be tuned from 1.55 eV to 2.3 eV,and the mixed tin(Sn)-Pb perovskites have bandgap of~1.2 eV,these perovskites become the best candidates for the front and rear subcells of all-perovskite tandem device,respectively.In this review,we firstly summarize the current development progresses of two-terminal(2-T)all-perovskite tandem so-lar cells.For further optimizing the device performance,the wide bandgap mixed halide perovskites for front subcell,mixed Sn-Pb narrow bandgap perovskites for rear subcell,and the interconnection layer(ICL)of 2-T tandem device are then discussed.This review aims to open a pathway to real-ize highly efficient all-perovskite tandem solar cells.Shan Jiang Yiming Bai Zongwen Ma Shengli Jin Chao Zou Zhao'ao Tan 2022Chinese Journal of Chemistry2022,40,7:2
