| 2 | Main seagrass beds and threats to their habitats in the coastal sea of South China显示文摘The distribution, species, biomass,productivity of main seagrasses and their sufferedmain threats are introduced and discussed in thispaper based on the field surveys in the offshore areas of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces.The seagrass beds distributed mainly in Liusha Bay,Donghai Island and Hailing Island of GuangdongProvince; Hepu and Pearl Bay of Guangxi ZhuangAutonomous Region; Li’an Bay, Xincun Bay, Longwan Bay and Sanya Bay of Hainan Province and soon. The total area of seagrass beds in the coastal seaof South China is about 2400 ha. There are about 8species, such as Halophila ovalis, Halodule uninervisHalophila beccarii, Zostera japonica, Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemperichii, Ruppia martime andCymodocea rotundata. These seagrasses have highbiomass and productivity. | 3 | Status monitoring and health assessment of Luhuitou fringing reef of Sanya, Hainan, China显示文摘The monitoring survey and health assessment for benthic community were carried out in Luhuitou fringing reef of Sanya, Hainan, China in 2002. Monitoring survey included manta tow, line intercept transect, video transect and digital photograph. The mean live coral cover was 23.40%. Comparison of used monitoring methods showed that video transect can replace line intercept transect, and 50 m transect is better than 20 m transect in uneven coral region. Survey data and comparison with previous research work showed that Luhuitou fringing reef has been damaged severely and has a general declining trend with live coral cover from about 85% in the 1960s down to 20% in 2004, but it still has quite high biodiversity and therefore has special protection value. Main factors of Luhuitou fringing reef declining were human activities including reef rock digging and curios collecting, destructive fishing, sediment and pollutant from coastal land, and recent marine aquaculture. | 4 | Exogenous abscisic acid significantly affects proteome in teaplant (Camellia sinensis) exposed to drought stress显示文摘Tea[Camellia sinensis(L.)O.Kuntze]is an important economic crop,and drought is the most important abiotic stress affecting yield and quality.Abscisic acid(ABA)is an important phytohormone responsible for activating drought resistance.Increased understanding of ABA effects on tea plant under drought stress is essential to develop drought-tolerant tea genotypes,along with crop management practices that can mitigate drought stress.The objective of the present investigation is evaluation of effects of exogenous ABA on the leaf proteome in tea plant exposed to drought stress.Leaf protein patterns of tea plants under simulated drought stress[(polyethylene glycol(PEG)-treated]and exogenous ABA treatment were analyzed in a time-course experiment using two-dimensional electrophoresis(2-DE),followed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight(MALDI-TOF)mass spectrometry(MS).Among the 72 protein spots identified by MALDI-TOF MS,16 proteins were downregulated and two were upregulated by exogenous ABA.The upregulated proteins have roles in glycolysis and photosystem II stabilization.Twenty-one protein spots were responsive to drought stress and most participate in carbohydrate and nitrogen metabolism,control of reactive oxygen species(ROS),defense,signaling or nucleic acid metabolism.The combined treatments of exogenous ABA and drought showed upregulation of 10 protein spots at 12 h and upregulation of 11 proteins at 72 h after initiation of drought stress.The results support the importance of the role that ABA plays in the tea plant during drought stress,by improving protein transport,carbon metabolism and expression of resistance proteins. | Lin Zhou Hui Xu Sue Mischke Lyndel W Meinhardt Dapeng Zhang Xujun Zhu Xinghui Li Wanping Fang | 2014 | Horticulture Research2014，1，1： | 12 |

| 9 | Development of a laser capture microscope-based single-cell-type proteomics tool for studying proteomes of individual cell layers of plant roots显示文摘Single-cell-type proteomics provides the capability to revealing the genomic and proteomics information at cell-level resolution.However,the methodology for this type of research has not been well-developed.This paper reports developing a workflow of laser capture microdissection(LCM)followed by gel-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GeLC-MS/MS)-based proteomics analysis for the identification of proteomes contained in individual cell layers of tomato roots.Thin-sections(~10-μm thick,10 sections per root tip)were prepared for root tips of tomato germinating seedlings.Epidermal and cortical cells(5000–7000 cells per tissue type)were isolated under a LCM microscope.Proteins were isolated and then separated by SDS–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis followed by in-gel-tryptic digestion.The MS and MS/MS spectra generated using nanoLC-MS/MS analysis of the tryptic peptides were searched against ITAG2.4 tomato protein database to identify proteins contained in each single-cell-type sample.Based on the biological functions,proteins with proven functions in root hair development were identified in epidermal cells but not in the cortical cells.Several of these proteins were found in Al-treated roots only.The results demonstrated that the cell-type-specific proteome is relevant for tissue-specific functions in tomato roots.Increasing the coverage of proteomes and reducing the inevitable cross-contamination from adjacent cell layers,in both vertical and cross directions when cells are isolated from slides prepared using intact root tips,are the major challenges using the technology in proteomics analysis of plant roots. | Yingde Zhu Hui Li Sarabjit Bhatti Suping Zhou Yong Yang Tara Fish Theodore W Thannhauser | 2016 | Horticulture Research2016，3，1： | 2 |
| 10 | Boosting Lean Electrolyte Lithium-Sulfur Battery Performance with Transition Metals: A Comprehensive Review显示文摘Lithium–sulfur(Li–S) batteries have received widespread attention, and lean electrolyte Li–S batteries have attracted additional interest because of their higher energy densities. This review systematically analyzes the effect of the electrolyte-to-sulfur(E/S) ratios on battery energy density and the challenges for sulfur reduction reactions(SRR) under lean electrolyte conditions. Accordingly, we review the use of various polar transition metal sulfur hosts as corresponding solutions to facilitate SRR kinetics at low E/S ratios(< 10 μL mg~(-1)), and the strengths and limitations of different transition metal compounds are presented and discussed from a fundamental perspective. Subsequently, three promising strategies for sulfur hosts that act as anchors and catalysts are proposed to boost lean electrolyte Li–S battery performance. | 12 | Risk stratification in symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic disease with conventional vascular risk factors and cerebral haemodynamics显示文摘Background and purpose Symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(sICAS)is associated with a considerable risk of recurrent stroke despite contemporarily optimal medical treatment.Severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS and its haemodynamic significance quantified with computational fluid dynamics(CFD)models were associated with the risk of stroke recurrence.We aimed to develop and compare stroke risk prediction nomograms in sICAS,based on vascular risk factors and these metrics.Methods Patients with 50%-99%sICAS confirmed in CT angiography(CTA)were enrolled.Conventional vascular risk factors were collected.Severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS was dichotomised as moderate(50%-69%)and severe(70%-99%).Translesional pressure ratio(PR)and wall shear stress ratio(WSSR)were quantified via CTA-based CFD modelling;the haemodynamic status of sICAS was classified as normal(normal PR&WSSR),intermediate(otherwise)and abnormal(abnormal PR&WSSR).All patients received guideline-recommended medical treatment.We developed and compared performance of nomograms composed of these variables and independent predictors identified in multivariate logistic regression,in predicting the primary outcome,recurrent ischaemic stroke in the same territory(SIT)within 1 year.Results Among 245 sICAS patients,20(8.2%)had SIT.The D2H2A nomogram,incorporating diabetes,dyslipidaemia,haemodynamic status of sICAS,hypertension and age≥50 years,showed good calibration(P for Hosmer-Lemeshow test=0.560)and discrimination(C-statistic 0.73,95%CI 0.60 to 0.85).It also had better performance in risk reclassification and provided larger net benefits in decision curve analysis,compared with nomograms composed of conventional vascular risk factors only,and plus the severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS.Sensitivity analysis in patients with anterior-circulation sICAS showed similar results.Conclusions The D2H2A nomogram,incorporating conventional vascular risk factors and the haemodynamic significance of sICAS as assessed in CFD models,could be a useful tool to stratify sICAS patients for the risk of recurrent stroke under contemporarily optimal medical treatment. | Xuan Tian Hui Fang Linfang Lan Hing Lung Ip Jill Abrigo Haipeng Liu Lina Zheng Florence S Y Fan Sze Ho Ma Bonaventure Ip Bo Song Yuming Xu Jingwei Li Bing Zhang Yun Xu Yannie O Y Soo Vincent Mok Ka Sing Wong Thomas W Leung Xinyi Leng | 2023 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023，8，1： | 2 |
