| 1 | AI for 5G: research directions and paradigms显示文摘Wireless communication technologies such as fifth generation mobile networks(5 G) will not only provide an increase of 1000 times in Internet traffic in the next decade but will also offer the underlying technologies to entire industries to support Internet of things(IOT) technologies. Compared to existing mobile communication techniques, 5 G has more varied applications and its corresponding system design is more complicated. The resurgence of artificial intelligence(AI) techniques offers an alternative option that is possibly superior to traditional ideas and performance. Typical and potential research directions related to the promising contributions that can be achieved through AI must be identified, evaluated, and investigated.To this end, this study provides an overview that first combs through several promising research directions in AI for 5 G technologies based on an understanding of the key technologies in 5 G. | 2 | Hilbert Transferin Applied to Separation of Waves显示文摘The analytical method (AM) for separation of composite waves is presented based on the Hilbert transform. It is ap-plicable to both regular and irregular trains of waves. The wave data series measured with two wave gauges in the experi-ments are separated into two series of incident and reflected waves. Then, the reflection coefficient can be easily ob-tained. The arrival of reflected waves can also be detected for improvement of the accuracy of the reflection coefficient.The reflection performance of the physical model can be estimated exactly without calculation of wave height and phasedifference. Numerical samples developed to test the method are proved to be accurate. | 4 | Ge-on-Si modulators operating at mid-infrared wavelengths up to 8 μm显示文摘We report mid-infrared Ge-on-Si waveguide-based PIN diode modulators operating at wavelengths of 3.8 and8 μm. Fabricated 1-mm-long electro-absorption devices exhibit a modulation depth of >35 dB with a 7 V forward bias at 3.8 μm, and a similar 1-mm-long Mach–Zehnder modulator has a Vπ· L of 0.47 V · cm. Driven by a 2.5 Vpp RF signal, 60 MHz on-off keying modulation was demonstrated. | 6 | The application of Hartley transform to ocean engineering显示文摘The Hartley transform is a real integral transform based on harmonic functions and hassome characteristics similar to the Fourier transform. Most applications in ocean engineering requiringthe Fourier transform can also be performed by the Hartley transform. The fast Hartley transform istwice faster and more convenient to handle than the corresponding fast Fourier transform, so it is a realvalued alternative to the complex Fourier transform in many applications. The use of the Hartley trans-form in ocean engineering is presented in detail in this paper, including wave spectral analysis, separationof waves, cross-correlation in PIV technique and expression of equation in the Hartley domain.
