1Salient Object Detection from Multi-spectral Remote Sensing Images with Deep Residual Network显示文摘alient object detection aims at identifying the visually interesting object regions that are consistent with human perception. Multispectral remote sensing images provide rich radiometric information in revealing the physical properties of the observed objects, which leads to great potential to perform salient object detection for remote sensing images. Conventional salient object detection methods often employ handcrafted features to predict saliency by evaluating the pixel-wise or superpixel-wise contrast. With the recent use of deep learning framework, in particular, fully convolutional neural networks, there has been profound progress in visual saliency detection. However, this success has not been extended to multispectral remote sensing images, and existing multispectral salient object detection methods are still mainly based on handcrafted features, essentially due to the difficulties in image acquisition and labeling. In this paper, we propose a novel deep residual network based on a top-down model, which is trained in an end-to-end manner to tackle the above issues in multispectral salient object detection. Our model effectively exploits the saliency cues at different levels of the deep residual network. To overcome the limited availability of remote sensing images in training of our deep residual network, we also introduce a new spectral image reconstruction model that can generate multispectral images from RGB images. 2Advances in 3D bioprinting technology for cardiac tissue engineering and regeneration显示文摘Cardiovascular disease is still one of the leading causes of death in the world,and heart transplantation is the current major treatment for end-stage cardiovascular diseases.However,because of the shortage of heart donors,new sources of cardiac regenerative medicine are greatly needed.The prominent development of tissue engineering using bioactive materials has creatively laid a direct promising foundation.Whereas,how to precisely pattern a cardiac structure with complete biological function still requires technological breakthroughs.Recently,the emerging three-dimensional(3D)bioprinting technology for tissue engineering has shown great advantages in generating micro-scale cardiac tissues,which has established its impressive potential as a novel foundation for cardiovascular regeneration.Whether 3D bioprinted hearts can replace traditional heart transplantation as a novel strategy for treating cardiovascular diseases in the future is a frontier issue.In this review article,we emphasize the current knowledge and future perspectives regarding available bioinks,bioprinting strategies and the latest outcome progress in cardiac 3D bioprinting to move this promising medical approach towards potential clinical implementation.Nanbo Liu Xing Ye Bin Yao Mingyi Zhao Peng Wu Guihuan Liu Donglin Zhuang Haodong Jiang Xiaowei Chen Yinru He Sha Huang Ping Zhu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,5:4
3Mesozoic–Cenozoic Tectonic Evolution and Uplift in Pamir:Application of Fission Track Thermochronology显示文摘The Pamir Plateau can be divided into three secondary tectonic units from north to south:the North,the Middle and the South Pamir Blocks.The North Pamir Block belonged to the southern margin of Tarim-Karakum,thermochronological study of the Pamir structural intersection indicates that accretion of the Middle Pamir Block to the Eurasian Continental Margin and its subduction and collision with the North Pamir Block occurred in the Middle–Late Jurassic.Due to the Neo-Tethys closure in the Early Cretaceous,the South Pamir Block began to collide with the accretion(the Middle Pamir Block)of the Eurasian Continental Margin.Affected by the collision and continuous convergence between the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate since the Cenozoic,Pamir is in a multi-stage differential uplift process.During 56.1–48.5 Ma,North Pamir took the lead in uplifting,that is,the first rapid uplift in the Pamir region began there.The continuous compression and contraction of the Indian and Eurasian plates during 22.0–15.1 Ma forced the Pamir tectonic syntaxis to begin its overall uplift,i.e.Pamir began to enter the second rapid uplift stage in the Early Oligocene,which lasted until the Middle Miocene.During 14.6–8.5Ma,South Pamir was in a rapid uplift stage,while North Pamir was in a relatively stable state,showing asymmetry of tectonic deformation in the Pamir region in space.Since 6.5 Ma,Pamir began to rapidly uplift again.FAN Baocheng LIU Mingyi HE Zixin MENG Guanglu WU Huanhuan LI Lu 2021Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,3:3
4MULTI-SPECTRAL AND HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGE FUSION USING 3-D WAVELET TRANSFORM显示文摘Image fusion is performed between one band of multi-spectral image and two bands of hyperspectral image to produce fused image with the same spatial resolution as source multi-spectral image and the same spectral resolution as source hyperspectral image. According to the characteristics and 3-Dimensional (3-D) feature analysis of multi-spectral and hyperspectral image data volume, the new fusion approach using 3-D wavelet based method is proposed. This approach is composed of four major procedures: Spatial and spectral resampling, 3-D wavelet transform, wavelet coefficient inte- gration and 3-D inverse wavelet transform. Especially, a novel method, Ratio Image Based Spectral Resampling (RIBSR) method, is proposed to accomplish data resampling in spectral domain by util- izing the property of ratio image. And a new fusion rule, Average and Substitution (A&S) rule, is employed as the fusion rule to accomplish wavelet coefficient integration. Experimental results illustrate that the fusion approach using 3-D wavelet transform can utilize both spatial and spectral character- istics of source images more adequately and produce fused image with higher quality and fewer artifacts than fusion approach using 2-D wavelet transform. 5Cell wallβ-1,4-galactan regulated by the BPC1/BPC2-GALS1 module aggravates salt sensitivity in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Salinity severely reduces plant growth and limits agricultural productivity.Dynamic changes and rearrangement of the plant cell wall is an important response to salt stress,but relatively little is known about the biological importance of specific cell wall components in the response.Here,we demonstrate a specific function ofβ-1,4-galactan in salt hypersensitivity.We found that salt stress induces the accumulation ofβ-1,4-galactan in root cell walls by up regulating the expression of GALACTAN SYNTHASE 1(GALS1),which encodes aβ-1,4-galactan synthase.The accumulation ofβ-1,4-galactan negatively affects salt tolerance.Exogenous application of D-galactose(D-Gal)causes an increase inβ-1,4-galactan levels in the wild type and GALS1 mutants,especially in GALS1 overexpressors,which correlated with the aggravated salt hypersensitivity.Furthermore,we discovered that the BARLEY B RECOMBINANT/BASIC PENTACYSTEINE transcription factors BPC1/BPC2 positively regulate plant salt tolerance by repressing GALS1 expression andβ-1,4-galactan accumulation.Genetic analysis suggested that GALS1 is genetically epistatic to BPC1/BPC2 with respect to the control of salt sensitivity as well as accumulation ofβ-1,4-galactan.Taken together,our results reveal a new regulatory mechanism by whichβ-1,4-galactan regulated by the BPC1/BPC2-GALS1 module aggravates salt sensitivity in Arabidopsis thaliana.Jingwei Yan Ya Liu Lan Yang Huan He Yun Huang Lin Fang Henrik Vibe Scheller Mingyi Jiang Aying Zhang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:3

10Microstructures and Key Properties of Mechanically Deposited Zn-Al Coatings显示文摘Zn-Al coatings can provide protection to exposed steel parts in most environments. For this reason,the investigation of Zn-Al coatings become very popular in recent years. In order to study the microstructures and properties of mechanically deposited Zn-Al coating,zinc powders and aluminum powders were used to deposit Zn-Al coating by mechanical plating. The microstructures,phase constitutes and compositions of the coating were observed and analyzed with optical microscopy (OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS). The results of observation show that the coating consists of almost spherically shaped zinc particles point contacting with each other; the coatings are composed of zinc particles,aluminum particles,interstice,and tin; extra fine zinc powders and some smaller interspersed inclusions are positioned in the interstices. Porosity and thickness of the coating were tested by ferroxyl test and magnetic method. The corrosion resistance of coatings was studied by neutral salt spraying test(NSS) ,immersion test and electrochemical polarization. It is found that the thickness of the coating dose lacks uniformity,with an uneven thickness distribution and an average variation of approximately 2-5μm; the coating can afford cathodic protection to the steel substrate; the corrosion resistance of Zn-Al coatings is better than that of the mechanically plated zinc coatings with same thickness.
