| 4 | Terahertz spectral properties of melamine and its deuterated isotope,melamine-d_6显示文摘The far-infrared optical properties of melamine and its deuterated isotope,melamine-d_6 were experimentally and theoretically investigated in the frequency range from 0.2 to 3.0 THz.Under the room temperature and dry air nitrogen conditions,three absorption bands were observed at 2.0,2.3 and 2.6 THz in the melamine sample by use of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy.Whereas,in the melamine-d_6 sample,the observed absorption bands shift towards lower frequencies and the relative intensity of the absorption bands reduces.Numerical simulation results based on the Parameterized Model number 3(PM3) were compared with the experimental data and the observed vibration spectra were assigned according to the PM3 calculations.The absorption bands of the measured melamine samples at terahertz frequencies are highly correlated with the intermolecular hydrogen bond stretching and π-π stacking vibration.Also,the red shift of the absorption bands is due to hydrogen/deuterium substitution. | HE Mingxia LI Meng TIAN Zhen CAO Wei HAN Jiaguang | 2012 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2012,23,4: | 3 |

| 6 | Heterologous expression of Hp BHY and Cr BKT increases heat tolerance in Physcomitrella patens显示文摘Heat stress can restrict plant growth,development,and crop yield.As essential plant antioxidants,carotenoids play significant roles in plant stress resistance.b-carotene hydroxylase(BHY)and b-carotene ketolase(BKT),which catalyze the conversions of b-carotene to zeaxanthin and b-carotene to canthaxanthin,respectively,are key enzymes in the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway,but little is known about their potential functions in stress resistance.Here,we investigated the roles of b-carotene hydroxylase and b-carotene ketolase during heat stress in Physcomitrella patens through expressing a b-carotene ketolase gene from Chlamydomonas reinhardtii(Cr BKT)and a b-carotene hydroxylase gene from Haematococcus pluvialis(Hp BHY)in the moss P.patens.In transgenic moss expressing these genes,carotenoids content increased(especially lutein content),and heat stress tolerance increased,with reduced leafy tissue necrosis.To investigate the mechanism of this heat stress resistance,we measured various physiological indicators and found a lower malondialdehyde level,higher peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activities,and higher endogenous abscisic acid and salicylate content in the transgenic plants in response to high-temperature stress.These results demonstrate that Cr BKT and Hp BHY increase plant heat stress resistance through the antioxidant and damage repair metabolism,which is related to abscisic acid and salicylate signaling. | Jianfang He Ping Li Heqiang Huo Lina Liu Ting Tang Mingxia He Junchao Huang Li Liu | 2019 | Plant Diversity2019,41,4: | 2 |

| 15 | Coastal upwelling observed by multi-satellite sensors显示文摘Coastal upwelling phenomenon along the China coast in the Yellow Sea during August 2007 is studied using ENVISAT Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) data, NOAA Advanced AVHRR series Sea Surface Temperature (SST) data,and NASA QuikSCAT Scatterometer ocean surface wind data. A dark pattern in an ASAR image is interpreted as coastal upwelling. This is because the natural biogenic slicks associated with coastal upwelling damp the Bragg waves on the sea surface and thus make the surface smoother. Most of the incoming radar energy is reflected in the forward direction. As a result, the radar backscatter signal is very weak. Analyzing the concurrent AVHRR SST image, we find that the dark pattern in the ASAR image is indeed corresponding to the low SST area. The wind retrieval in the slicks dominant region is biased due to the low Normalised Radar Cross Section (NRCS) associated with the coastal upwelling. | 16 | Behavior of Phrynocephalus frontalis to Avoid Traps显示文摘Previous studies have shown that reptiles are capable of spatial learning and learn to locate important environmental resources so that they can return to those locations at a future time,when needed.Lizards improve their adaptability and survival by learning the position of their shelter in a complex environment.This behavior raises the question,whether lizards can sense danger,such as a trap,in their surroundings,by determining the location of the trap and avoiding it.In the present study,we used a pitfall trap to test if steppe toad-headed agama,Phrynocephalus frontalis,can learn to recognize the position of the trap and avoid it.Our results revealed that the percentage of activity time in the trap area was significantly reduced(P < 0.001) and the time of drop trap was also significantly reduced(P = 0.00631).The number of burrows dug by lizards distributed in the trap area was the least.Reduced activity time in the trap area was observed to have no obvious relationship with the drop in the number of burrows.The present study,therefore,demonstrates that P.frontalis are capable of learning the avoidance of a trap by locating its position.The findings offer significant insight in the understanding of reptilian behavior,which is important in the study of the role of reptiles in global ecology,especially because they are often very sensitive to environmental changes. | Mingxia FU Shaoyong CHEN Zhichao HE Zhiliang JIE Junhuai BI | 2017 | Asian Herpetological Research2017,18,1: | 0 |

| 19 | Adsorption of trichlorphon on phyllosilicate minerals:Effect of low-molecular-weight organic acids显示文摘The use of trichlorphon in large quantities causes a large number of organic pollutants to enter water, sediments, and soils. Phyllosilicate minerals are considered effective adsorbents for organic pollutants. However, the adsorption behavior of organic pollutants on soil minerals affected by low-molecular-weight organic acids(LMWOAs) is not fully understood. In this study, the effect of LMWOAs on the adsorption behavior of trichlorphon on phyllosilicate minerals was investigated using a combination of adsorption measurements and molecular spectroscopic techniques(attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATR-FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)). The adsorption of trichlorphon onto kaolinite(KAO) and montmorillonite(MON) was suppressed by increasing pH, indicating that electrostatic interaction played a key role in adsorption, especially at low pH. In the presence of citric acid(CA), there was an obvious promotion of trichlorphon adsorption on KAO and MON. In the presence of oxalic acid(OA), the adsorption of trichlorphon on KAO was promoted, whereas the adsorption on MON was inhibited, especially at pH 4.0. The presence of CA and OA increased the adsorption by increasing the exposure of hydrophobic sites of KAO and MON. The results from ATR-FTIR and XPS also indicated that the hydrophobic Si–O sites of phyllosilicate minerals were the preferred adsorption sites for trichlorphon in the presence of CA and OA, probably driven by the hydrophobic effect. However, the weak effect of OA on MON caused an increase in the electrostatic repulsion between MON and trichlorphon molecules, thus inhibiting adsorption. | 20 | Generation and Developmental Characteristics of Porcine Tetraploid Embryos and Tetraploid/diploid Chimeric Embryos显示文摘The aim of this study was to optimize electrofusion conditions for generating porcine tetraploid(4n)embryos and produce tetraploid/diploid(4n/2n)chimeric embryos.Different electric feld intensities were tested and 2 direct current(DC)pulses of 0.9 kV/cm for 30 ls was selected as the optimum condition for electrofusion of 2-cell embryos to produce 4n embryos.The fusion rate of 2-cell embryos and the development rate to blastocyst of presumably 4n embryos,reached85.4%and 28.5%,respectively.68.18%of the fused embryos were found to be 4n as demonstrated by fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH).Although the number of blastomeres in 4n blastocysts was signifcantly lower than in 2n blastocysts(P<0.05),there was no signifcant difference in developmental rates of blastocysts between 2n and 4n embryos(P>0.05),suggesting that the blastocyst forming capacity in 4n embryos is similar to those in 2n embryos.Moreover,4n/2n chimeric embryos were obtained by aggregation of 4n and 2n embryos.We found that the developmental rate and cell number of blastocysts of 4-cell(4n)/4-cell(2n)chimeric embryos were signifcantly higher than those of 2-cell(4n)/4-cell(2n),4-cell(4n)/8-cell(2n),4-cell(4n)/2-cell(2n)chimeric embryos(P<0.05).Consistent with mouse chimeras,the majority of 4n cells contribute to the trophectoderm(TE),while the 2n cells are mainly present in the inner cell mass(ICM)of porcine4n/2n chimeric embryos.Our study established a feasible and effcient approach to produce porcine4n embryos and 4n/2n chimeric embryos. | Wenteng He Qingran Kong Yongqian Shi Bingteng Xie Mingxia Jiao Tianqing Huang Shimeng Guo Kui Hu Zhonghua Liu | 2013 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2013,11,5: | 0 |
