1Liver cancer incidence and mortality in China: Temporal trends and projections to 2030显示文摘Objective: Liver cancer is one of the most common cancers and major cause of cancer deaths in China,which accounts for over 50% of new cases and deaths worldwide.The systematic liver cancer statistics including of projection through 2030 could provide valuable information for prevention and control strategies in China,and experience for other countries.Methods: The burden of liver cancer in China in 2014 was estimated using 339 cancer registries' data selected from Chinese National Cancer Center(NCC).Incident cases of 22 cancer registries were applied for temporal trends from 2000 to 2014.The burden of liver cancer through 2030 was projected using age-period-cohort model.Results: About 364,800 new cases of liver cancer(268,900 males and 95,900 females) occurred in China,and about 318,800 liver cancer deaths(233,500 males and 85,300 females) in 2014.Western regions of China had the highest incidence and mortality rates.Incidence and mortality rates decreased by about 2.3% and 2.6% per year during the period of 2000-2014,respectively,and would decrease by more than 44% between 2014 and 2030 in China.The young generation,particularly for those aged under 40 years,showed a faster down trend.Conclusions: Based on the analysis,incidence and mortality rates of liver cancer are expected to decrease through 2030,but the burden of liver cancer is still serious in China,especially in rural and western areas.Most cases of liver cancer in China can be prevented through vaccination and more prevention efforts should be focused on high risk groups.Rongshou Zheng Chunfeng Qu Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Kexin Sun Xiuying Gu Changfa Xia Zhixun Yang He Li Wenqiang Wei Wanqing Chen Jie He 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6:132
2No expenditure difference among patients with liver cancer at stageⅠ-ⅣV:Findings from a multicenter cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Objective:The number of liver cancer patients in China accounts for more than half of the world.However,China currently lacks national,multicenter economic burden data,and meanwhile,measuring the differences among different subgroups will be informative to formulate corresponding policies in liver cancer control.Thus,the aim of the study was to measure the economic burden of liver cancer by various subgroups.Methods:A hospital-based,multicenter and cross-sectional survey was conducted during 2012・2014,covering 39 hospitals and 21 project sites in 13 provinces across China.The questionnaire covers clinical information,sociology,expenditure,and related variables.All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2014 values.Results:A total of 2,223 liver cancer patients were enrolled,of whom 59.61%were late-stage cases(III-IV),and 53.8%were hepatocellular carcinoma.The average total expenditure per liver cancer patient was estimated as 53,220 CNY,including 48,612 CNY of medical expenditures(91.3%)and 4,608 CNY of non-medical expenditures(8.7%).The average total expenditures in stage I,H,m and stage IV were 52,817 CNY,50,877 CNY,50,678 CNY and 54,089 CNY(P>0.05),respectively.Non-medical expenditures including additional meals,additional nutrition care,transportation,accommodation and hired informal nursing were 1,453 CNY,839 CNY,946 CNY,679 CNY and 200 CNY,respectively.The one-year out-of-pocket expenditure of a newly diagnosed patient was 24,953 CNY,and 77.2%of the patients suffered an unmanageable financial burden.Multivariate analysis showed that overall expenditure differed in almost all subgroups(P<0.05),except for sex,clinical stage,and pathologic type.Conclusions:There was no difference in treatment expenditure for liver cancer patients at different clinical stages,which suggests that maintaining efforts on treatment efficacy improvement is important but not enough.To fiirtherly reduce the overall economic burden from liver cancer,more effort should be given to primary and secondary prevention strategies.Haike Lei Lin Lei Jufang Shi Yongzhong Wu Ling Liang Huiyao Huang Mei He Fangzhou Bai Maomao Cao Hui Qiu Yuting Wang Chengcheng Liu Jia Du Hong Wang Yan Zhang Mengdi Cao Ji Peng Ni Li Chunfeng Qu Min Dai Wanqing Chen Jie He 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,4:7
3A male-ABCD algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma risk prediction in HBs Ag carriers显示文摘Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) development among hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) carriers shows gender disparity, influenced by underlying liver diseases that display variations in laboratory tests. We aimed to construct a risk-stratified HCC prediction model for HBs Ag-positive male adults.Methods: HBs Ag-positive males of 35-69 years old(N=6,153) were included from a multi-center populationbased liver cancer screening study. Randomly, three centers were set as training, the other three centers as validation. Within 2 years since initiation, we administrated at least two rounds of HCC screening using Bultrasonography and α-fetoprotein(AFP). We used logistic regression models to determine potential risk factors,built and examined the operating characteristics of a point-based algorithm for HCC risk prediction.Results: With 2 years of follow-up, 302 HCC cases were diagnosed. A male-ABCD algorithm was constructed including participant's age, blood levels of GGT(γ-glutamyl-transpeptidase), counts of platelets, white cells,concentration of DCP(des-γ-carboxy-prothrombin) and AFP, with scores ranging from 0 to 18.3. The area under receiver operating characteristic was 0.91(0.90-0.93), larger than existing models. At 1.5 points of risk score,26.10% of the participants in training cohort and 14.94% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk, with sensitivity of identifying HCC remained 100%. At 2.5 points, 46.51% of the participants in training cohort and 33.68% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk with 99.06% and 97.78% of sensitivity, respectively. 8Accumulation, transportation, and distribution of tetracycline and cadmium in rice显示文摘Co-exposure to heavy metal and antibiotic pollution might result in complexation and synergistic interactions,affecting rice growth and further exacerbating pollutant enrichment.Therefore,our study sought to clarify the influence of different Tetracycline (TC) and Cadmium(Cd) concentration ratios (both alone and combined) on rice growth,pollutant accumulation,and transportation during the tillering stage in hydroponic system.Surprisingly,our findings indicated that the interaction between TC and Cd could alleviate the toxic effects of TC/Cd on aerial rice structures and decrease pollutant burdens during root elongation.In contrast,TC and Cd synergistically promoted the accumulation of TC/Cd in rice roots.However,their interaction increased the accumulation of TC in roots while decreasing the accumulation of Cd when the toxicant doses increased.The strong affinity of rice to Cd promoted its upward transport from the roots,whereas the toxic effects of TC reduced TC transport.Therefore,the combined toxicity of the two pollutants inhibited their upward transport.Additionally,a low concentration of TC promoted the accumulation of Cd in rice mainly in the root tip.Furthermore,a certain dose of TC promoted the upward migration of Cd from the root tip.Laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry demonstrated that Cd mainly accumulated in the epidermis and stele of the root,whereas Fe mainly accumulated in the epidermis,which inhibited the absorption and accumulation of Cd by the rice roots through the generation of a Fe plaque.Our findings thus provide insights into the effects of TC and Cd co-exposure on rice growth.Chunfeng He Jini Zhou Chen Yang Zhiyi Song Junheng He Ziqing Huang Yurong Deng Jinling Wang Yu Xiong Zhi Dang 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,4:1

13Toward few-shot domain adaptation with perturbation-invariant representation and transferable prototypes显示文摘Domain adaptation(DA)for semantic segmentation aims to reduce the annotation burden for the dense pixellevel prediction task.It focuses on tackling the domain gap problem and manages to transfer knowledge learned from abundant source data to new target scenes.Although recent works have achieved rapid progress in this field,they still underperform fully supervised models with a large margin due to the absence of any available hints in the target domain.Considering that few-shot labels are cheap to obtain in practical applications,wc attempt to leverage them to mitigate the performance gap between DA and fully supervised methods.The key to this problem is to leverage the few-shot labels to learn robust domain-invariant predictions effectively.To this end,we first design a data perturbation strategy to enhance the robustness of the representations.Furthermore,a transferable prototype module is proposed to bridge the domain gap based on the source data and few-shot targets.By means of these proposed methods,our approach can perform on par with the fully supervised models to some extent.We conduct extensive experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods and report the state-of-the-art performance on two popular DA tasks,i.e.,from GTA5 to Cityscapes and SYNTHIA to Cityscapes.Junsong FAN Yuxi WANG He GUAN Chunfeng SONG Zhaoxiang ZHANG 2022Frontiers of Computer Science2022,16,3:0
14OH regulator of highly dispersed Ru sites on host Pd nanocrystals for selective ethanol electro-oxidation显示文摘The ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)is crucial in direct alcohol fuel cells and chemical production.However,the electro-oxidation of ethanol molecules to produce acetaldehyde and carbon monoxide can poison the active sites of nanocatalysts,resulting in reduced performance and posing challenges in achieving high activity and selectivity for ethanol oxidation.In this study,we employed a dynamic seed-mediated method to precisely modify highly dispersed Ru sites onto well-defined Pd nanocrystals.The oxyphilic Ru sites serve as'OH valves',regulating water dissociation,while the surrounding Pd atomic arrangements control electronic states for the oxidation dehydrogenation of carbonaceous intermediates.Specifically,Ru0.040@Pd nanocubes(Ru:Pd=0.04 at.%),featuring(100)facets in Ru-Pd4 configurations,demonstrate an outstanding mass activity of 6.53 A·mgPd^(-1) in EOR under alkaline conditions,which is 6.05 times higher than that of the commercial Pd/C catalyst(1.08 A·mgPd-1).Through in-situ experiments and theoretical investigations,we elucidate that the hydrophilic Ru atoms significantly promote the dynamic evolution of H_(2)O dissociation into OHads species,while the electron redistribution from Ru to adjacent Pd concurrently adjusts the selective oxidation of C_(2) intermediates.This host-guest interaction accelerates the subsequent oxidation of carbonaceous intermediates(CH_(3)CO_(ads))to acetate,while preventing the formation of toxic*CHx and*CO species,which constitutes the rate-determining step.Zhihe Xiao Yueguang Chen Renjie Wu Yuwei He Chunfeng Shi Leyu Wang 2024Nano Research2024,17,5:0

16A cost-efficient quantum access network with qubit-based synchronization显示文摘Quantum key distribution(QKD)is a physical layer encryption technique that enables two distant parties to exchange secure keys with information-theoretic security.In the last two decades,QKD has transitioned from laboratory research to real-world applications,including multi-user quantum access networks(QANs).This network structure allows users to share a single-photon detector at a network node through time-division multiplexing,thereby significantly reducing the network cost.However,current QAN implementations require additional hardware for auxiliary tasks such as time synchronization.To address this issue,we propose a cost-efficient QAN that uses qubit-based synchronization.In this approach,the transmitted qubits facilitate time synchronization,eliminating the need for additional synchronization hardware.We tested our scheme by implementing a network for two users and successfully achieved average secure key rates of 53.84 kbps and 71.90 kbps for each user over a 50-km commercial fiber spool.In addition,we investigated the capacity of the access network under cross-talk and loss conditions.The simulation results demonstrate that this scheme can support a QAN with 64 users with key rates up to 1070 bps.Our work provides a feasible and cost-effective way to implement a multi-user QKD network,further promoting the widespread application of QKD.Chunfeng Huang Ye Chen Tingting Luo Wenjie He Xin Liu Zhenrong Zhang Kejin Wei 2024Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,4:0
17New dual functional CYP450 gene involves in isoflavone biosynthesis in Glycine max L.显示文摘Glycine max L.accumulates a large amount of isoflavonoid compounds,which is beneficial for plant defense,plant-microbe symbiotic interactions,and human health.Several CYP450 subfamily genes are involved in the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway in plants.In the present study,we found 24 CYP82 subfamily genes were differentially expressed in various tissues of soybean,in Phytophthora sojae-infected soybean varieties and in soybean hairy roots treated with cell wall glucan elicitor.Six of them(GmCYP82A2,GmCYP82A3,GmCYP82A4,GmCYP82A23,GmCYP82C20 and GmCYP82D26)were co-expressed with other known isoflavonoid pathway genes in soybean.Their enzymatic activity in yeast feeding assays showed that only GmCYP82D26 was able to convert naringenin to daidzein with both aryl migration and dehydration function.When GmCYP82D26 was over-expressed in soybean hairy roots,the contents of the two major isoflavonoid aglycones in soybean(daidzein and genistein)were reduced,but total flavonoids were not affected.When GmCYP82D26 was suppressed by RNAi in the hairy roots,daidzein content was decreased but genistein content was increased,with unchanged total flavonoid content.GmCYP82D26 was found to be localized in the endoplasmic reticulum at subcellular level when transiently expressed in tobacco leaf epidermis.GmCYP82D26 gene was preferentially expressed in roots,with low expression level in other tissues in soybean.Homology modeling and molecular docking showed that GmCYP82D26 could form hydrogen bond with both HEM and naringenin at C5-OH and C4 carbonyl.All these results indicated that GmCYP82D26 possesses new and dual enzymatic activity,which bridges the two branches(daidzein and genistein branch)of isoflavonoid pathway in soybean.Yaying Xia Chunfeng He Su Yan Jinyue Liu Haijun Huang Xue Li Qian Su Wenbo Jiang Yongzhen Pang 2023Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2023,8,1:0

20Co-modulated interface binding energy and electric field distribution of layer-structured PVDF–LDPE dielectric composites with BaTiO3: experiment and multiscale simulations显示文摘The layer-structured composites were built by the dielectric and insulating layers composed of polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)and low-density polyethylene(LDPE)composites containing barium titanate(BT)to modulate the dielectric and energy storage properties of the composites.The simulations on the interface models for molecular dynamics and the geometric models for finite element analysis were performed together with the experimental characterization of the morphology,dielectric,and energy storage properties of the composites.The results revealed that polyethylene as an insulating layer played a successful role in modulating dielectric permittivity and breakdown strength while BT particles exerted positive effects in improving the miscibility between the composed layers and redistributing the electric field.The strong interface binding energy and the similar dielectric permittivity between the PVDF layer and the BT20/LDPE layer made for the layer-structured composites with a characteristic breakdown strength(Eb)of 188.9 kV·mm^(−1),a discharge energy density(Ud)of 1.42 J·cm^(−3),and a dielectric loss factor(tanδ)of 0.017,which were increased by 94%,141%,and decreased by 54%in comparison with those of the BT20/PVDF composite,respectively.Ruitian Bo Chunfeng Wang Yongliang Wang Peigang He Zhidong Han 2023Frontiers of Materials Science2023,17,3:0
