1Morphological and biochemical responses of Oryza sativa L.(cultivar MR219) to ion beam irradiation显示文摘Objective: Heavy ion beam, which has emerged as a new mutagen in the mutation breeding of crops and ornamental plants, is expected to result in the induction of novel mutations. This study investigates the morphological and biochemical responses of Oryza sativa toward different doses of carbon ion beam irradiation. Methods: In this study, the dry seeds of O. sativa were irradiated at 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 Gy, followed by in-vitro germination under controlled conditions. Morphological and biochemical studies were conducted to investigate the morphological and physiological responses of O. sativa towards ion beam irradiation. Results: The study demonstrated that low doses(10 Gy) of ion beam have a stimulating effect on the height, root length, and fresh weight of the plantlets but not on the number of leaves. Meanwhile, doses higher than 10 Gy caused reductions in all the morphological parameters studied as compared to the control samples. The highest total soluble protein content [(2.11±0.47) mg/g FW] was observed in plantlets irradiated at 20 Gy. All irradiated plantlets were found to have 0.85% to 58.32% higher specific activity of peroxidase as compared to the control samples. The present study also revealed that low doses of ion beam(10 and 20 Gy) had negligible effect on the total chlorophyll content of O. sativa plantlets while 40 Gy had a stimulating effect on the chlorophyll content. Plantlets irradiated between 40 to 120 Gy were shown to be 0.38% to 9.98% higher in total soluble nitrogen content which, however, was not significantly different from the control samples. 4玻璃体腔组织纤溶酶原激活剂治疗玻璃体黄斑粘连(英文)显示文摘目的:评估仅玻璃体腔注射组织纤溶酶原激活剂(TPA)对玻璃体黄斑牵引以及玻璃体腔注射TPA和贝伐单抗对视网膜血管疾病的改善作用。方法:前瞻性研究。对24例24眼患者进行干预性系统研究。其中5眼玻璃体黄斑牵引综合征(VMT),19眼视网膜血管疾病包括:糖尿病黄斑水肿(DME)眼,糖尿病性玻璃体出血(VH)眼,视网膜中央静脉阻塞(CRVO)和新生血管年龄相关性黄斑变性眼(AMD)。在注射前及注射1mo后分别进行视力,B超和OCT检查。3眼VMT接受玻璃体腔单次注射TPA50μg,2眼接受100μg注射。19例视网膜血管疾病患者接受玻璃体腔组织纤溶酶原激活剂(50μg)和贝伐单抗(1.25 mg)联合治疗。结果:纳入病例中男性10眼视网膜血管疾病和VMT患者平均年龄分别为56.8y和60.4y。纳入病例中男性10眼(41.7%),女性14眼(58.3%)。22眼(91.7%)晶状体眼,2眼(8.3%)人工晶状体眼。VMT和视网膜血管疾病的玻璃体后部脱离(PVD)分别为0(0/5)和57.8%(11/19)(P=0.04)。在改善最佳矫正视力(BCVA)和降低黄斑中心凹厚度(CMT)方面,与无PVD眼相比,有PVD眼改善更多。结论:在VMT患者中,单独玻璃体腔内注射TPA不能成功诱导玻璃体后部完全脱离。玻璃体腔联合注射TPA和贝伐单抗可引起视网膜血管疾病患者玻璃体后部脱离,提高最佳矫正视力以及降低黄斑中心凹厚度。Saeed Karimi Masoud Soheilian Homayoun Nikkhah Azadeh Haseli Mofrad 2018国际眼科杂志2018,18,2:3

7Strawberry sweetness and consumer preference are enhanced by specific volatile compounds显示文摘Breeding crops for improved flavor is challenging due to the high cost of sensory evaluation and the difficulty of connecting sensory experience to chemical composition.The main goal of this study was to identify the chemical drivers of sweetness and consumer liking for fresh strawberries(Fragaria×ananassa).Fruit of 148 strawberry samples from cultivars and breeding selections were grown and harvested over seven years and were subjected to both sensory and chemical analyses.Each panel consisted of at least 100 consumers,resulting in more than 15,000 sensory data points per descriptor.Three sugars,two acids and 113 volatile compounds were quantified.Consumer liking was highly associated with sweetness intensity,texture liking,and flavor intensity,but not sourness intensity.Partial least square analyses revealed 20 volatile compounds that increased sweetness perception independently of sugars;18 volatiles that increased liking independently of sugars;and 15 volatile compounds that had positive effects on both.Machine learning-based predictive models including sugars,acids,and volatiles explained at least 25%more variation in sweetness and liking than models accounting for sugars and acids only.Volatile compounds such asγ-dodecalactone;5-hepten-2-one,6-methyl;and multiple medium-chain fatty acid esters may serve as targets for breeding or quality control attributes for strawberry products.A genetic association study identified two loci controlling ester production,both on linkage group 6 A.Co-segregating makers in these regions can be used for increasing multiple esters simultaneously.This study demonstrates a paradigm for improvement of fruit sweetness and flavor in which consumers drive the identification of the most important chemical targets,which in turn drives the discovery of genetic targets for marker-assisted breeding.Zhen Fan Tomas Hasing Timothy S.Johnson Drake M.Garner Michael L.Schwieterman Christopher R.Barbey Thomas A.Colquhoun Charles A.Sims Marcio F.R.Resende Vance M.Whitaker 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:2

11Pneumatosis intestinalis with obstructing intussusception:A case report and literature review显示文摘Pneumatosis intestinalis(PI) often represents a benign condition that should not be considered as an argument for surgery. We report a patient with PI and obstructing intussusception who underwent urgent colectomy and review the literatures regarding PI with intussusception. A 20-year-old man presented at our hospital with a 3-d intermittent lower abdominal pain history. He underwent steroid therapy for membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis for 4 years. Computed tomography revealed ascending colon intussusception with air within the wall. Intraoperative colonoscopy revealed numerous soft polypoid masses with normal overlying mucosa and right hemicolectomy was performed. Histological examination of colonic wall sections revealed large cysts in the submucosal layer. The pathological diagnosis was PI. Nine cases of intussusception associated with primary PI have been reported.
