1Treatment and prognosis of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma based on SEER data analysis from 1973 to 2014显示文摘Background: Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEH) is a rare tumor of vascular origin with an unknown etiology, a low incidence, and a variable natural course. We evaluated the management and prognosis of HEH from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) program and changes in treatment modalities of HEH over 30 years. Methods: From 1973 to 2014 in the SEER database, we selected patients diagnosed with HEH. We analyzed the clinical characteristics, patterns of management, and clinical outcomes of patients with HEH. Results: We identi ed 79 patients with HEH (median age: 54.0 years;male to female ratio: 1:2.6). The initial extent of disease was local in 22 (27.8%) patients, regional metastasis in 22 (27.8%), distant metas-tasis in 31 (39.2%) and unknown in 4 (5.1%). The median size of primary tumor was 3.85 cm (interquartile range, 2.50 7.93 cm). Among 74 patients with available management data, the most common manage-ment was no treatment (29/74, 39.2%), followed by chemotherapy only (22/74, 29.7%), liver resection-based (13/74, 17.6%), and transplantation-based therapy (6/74, 8.1%). The 5-year cancer-speci c survival rate was 57.8%. Patients who underwent surgical treatment had signi cantly higher survival than those who underwent non-surgical treatment (5-year survival;88% vs. 49%, P=0.019). Multivariate analysis revealed that surgical therapy was the only independent prognostic factor for survival (hazard ratio: 0.20, P=0.040). 2Reliable high temperature, high humidity flexible thin film encapsulation using Al2O3/MgO nanolaminates for flexible OLEDs显示文摘Since most organic materials are very sensitive to moisture and oxygen, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) require an encapsulation layer to protect the active layer from these gases. Since light, flexible and portable OLEDs are being employed in more diverse climates and environmental conditions, the OLED encapsulation layer must retain robust mechanical properties and stability in high temperature/high humidity conditions. Al2O3 films have demonstrated excellent barrier performance, but they readily hydrolyze when exposed to prolonged harsh environments. In this study, we fabricated a thin film encapsulation (TFE) film that was resistant to hydrolysis, using Al2O3/MgO (AM) nanolaminates. MgO has superior resistance to harsh environments, and the aluminate phase generated by the chemical reaction of Al2O3 and MgO provided excellent barrier performance, even after storage in harsh conditions. A multi-barrier fabricated using the AM nanolaminate showed excellent barrier performance, close to the level required by OLEDs. It did not significantly deteriorate even after a bending test of 1,000 iterations at 0.63% strain. After 1,000 cycle of bending, the electrical properties of the passivated OLEDs were not significantly degraded at shelf-lifetime test where the fabricated device was stored for 50 days in a harsh environment of 60℃, 90% relative humidity. 3Multi-directionally wrinkle-able textile OLEDs for clothing-type displays显示文摘A clothing-type wearable display can be utilized in fashion,bio-healthcare,and safety industries as well as smart textiles for the internet of things(IoTs)and wearable devices.In response to this trend,we demonstrate a textile display that can endure the active movements of a human body.It can be applied to any kind of textile,and is durable against conditions such as rain,sweat,and washing.As a key technology for realizing the multi-directional wrinkle-able textile display,we fabricated a stress-lowering textile platform with an ultrathin planarization layer replicated from the flat surface of glass.An elastomeric strain buffer for reducing mechanical stress is also inserted into the textile platform.Here,organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs)with red,green and blue color,thin film transistors(TFTs)fabricated at a low temperature below 150℃,and a washable encapsulation layer blocking both gas and liquid were demonstrated on the textile platform.Seungyeop Choi Woosung Jo Yongmin Jeon Seonil Kwon Jeong Hyun Kwon Young Hyun Son Junmo Kim Jun Hong Park Hyuncheol Kim Ho Seung Lee Minwoo Nam Eun Gyo Jeong Jeong Bin Shin Taek-Soo Kim Kyung Cheol Choi 2020npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1:3
