| 2 | Spatial distribution, seasonal variation and regionalization of PM_(2.5) concentrations in China显示文摘In order to provide scientific support to policy makers in the regulation of PM2.5 pollution in China, it is important to accurately assess the current status, spatiotemporal characteristics and regionalization data for this air pollutant. An analysis of the pollution status of PM2.5 was conducted using daily averaged mass concentration data recorded in 74 cities in 2013 and 161 cities in 2014. The rotated empirical orthogonal function(REOF) method was applied to analyze this data. Results showed that the average annual PM2.5 concentration in urban areas of China is 62.2±21.5 ?g/m3, and that the distribution is spatially heterogeneous. The North China Plain, middle and lower Yangtze River Plain, Sichuan Basin and Guanzhong Plain had relatively high annual PM2.5 concentrations compared with the southeast coastal region, the Tibetan Plateau and the Yungui Plateau. PM2.5 mass concentrations tended to be higher in winter than in summer, however, the data for many cities showed a small peak in concentrations from May to July. An analysis of the spatial correlation of PM2.5 indicated a significant influence of topographic conditions. A lower correlation was observed where terrain features varied greatly. Based on the results of the REOF analysis and topographic characteristics, ten regions were identified in mid-eastern China, which could be considered as basic pollution prevention divisions for PM2.5; these include the North China Plain region, Pearl River Delta region, Jianghuai Plain region, middle Yangtze River Plain region, Northeast Plain region, Jiangnan coastal region, Sichuan Basin region, Qiantao Plain region, Guanzhong-Central Plain region and Yungui Plateau region. Seasonal variations in the regionalization data were observed, especially for the North China Plain and Pearl River Delta regions. Among the ten regions identified in this study, the North China Plain, Guanzhong-Central Plain, middle Yangtze River Plain and Jianghuai Plain had relatively high PM2.5 mass concentrations in comparison with the others. Therefore, these regions should be considered as the key regions to target in developing PM2.5 pollution prevention strategies. | 4 | Antibacterial Performance of a Cu-bearing Stainless Steel against Microorganisms in Tap Water显示文摘Tap water is one of the most commonly used water resources in our daily life. However, the increasing water contamination and the health risk caused by pathogenic bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli have attracted more attention. The mutualism of different pathogenic bacteria may diminish antibacterial effect of antibacterial agents. It was found that materials used for making pipe and tap played one of the most important roles in promoting bacterial growth. This paper is to report the performance of an innovative type 304 Cu-bearing stainless steel(304Cu SS) against microbes in tap water. The investigation methodologies involved were means of heterotrophic plate count, contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy for observing the cell and subtract surface morphology,atomic absorption spectrometry for copper ions release study, and confocal laser scanning microscopy used for examining live/dead bacteria on normal 304 stainless steel and 304 Cu SS. | 5 | Numerical Simulation of Particle Concentration in a Gas Cyclone Separator显示文摘The particle concentration inside a cyclone separator at different operation parameters was simulated with the FLUENT software. The Advanced Reynolds Stress Model (ARSM) was used in gas phase turbulence modeling. Stochastic Particle Tracking Model (SPTM) and the Particle-Source-In-Cell (PSIC) method were adopted for particles computing. The interaction between particles and the gas phase was also taken into account. The numerical simulation results were in agreement with the experimental data. The simulation revealed that an unsteady spiral dust strand appeared near the cyclone wall and a non-axi-symmetrical dust ring appeared in the annular space and under the cover plate of the cyclone. There were two regions in the radial particle concentration distribution, in which particle concentration was low in the inner region (r/R≤0.75) and increased greatly in the outer region (r/R>0.75). Large particles generally had higher concentration in the near-wall region and small particles had higher concentration in the inner swirling flow region. The axial distribution of particle concentration in the inner swirling flow (r/R≤0.3) region showed that there existed serious fine particle entrainment within the height of 0.5D above the dust discharge port and a short-cut flow at a distance of about 0.25D below the entrance of the vortex finder. The dimensionless concentration in the high-concentration region increased obviously in the upper part of the cyclone separation space when inlet particle loading was large. | 7 | Influencing factors of water resources in the source region of the Yellow River显示文摘Taking the source region of the Yellow River as a study area and based on the data from Madoi Meteorological Station and Huangheyan Hydrological Station covering the period 1955–2005, this paper analyses the changing trends of surface water resources, climate and frozen ground and reveals their causes. Results show that there exist frequent fluctuations from high to low water flow in the 51-year period. In general, the discharge has shown a de- clining trend in the 51 years especially since the 1990s. The annual distribution shows one peak which, year on year is getting smaller. (1) Precipitation has a significant and sustained influence on discharge. (2) A sharp rise of temperature resulted in the increase of evaporation and the decrease of discharge, which has a greater effect than on ice-snow melting. (3) Frozen ground tends to be degraded markedly. There is a significant positive correlation be- tween the permafrost thickness and the discharge. | 8 | NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FINE PARTICLE SEPARATION IN A ROTATIONAL TUBE SEPARATOR显示文摘This paper presents a numerical analysis of gas-solid separation in a rotational tube separator. This separator which collects fine particles from gas in laminar flow is effective for fine particle separation. The separation efficiency and critical particle diameter of the separator were simulated using CFD package (FLUENT 6.0). The simulation showed that separation efficiency can be significantly decreased due to the presence of turbulence. The simulation also showed that the Saffman lift force has little effect on the efficiency of this separator. The critical particle diameter of this tube separator was also calculated theoretically. Some experimental data were provided to validate the simulation results. | 9 | Thermally stable and highly efficient red-emitting Eu^(3+)-doped Cs3GdGe309 phosphors for WLEDs:non-concentration quenching and negative thermal expansion显示文摘Red phosphor materials play a key role in improving the lighting and backlit display quality of phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes(pc-WLEDs).However,the development of a red phosphor with simultaneous high efficiency,excellent thermal stability and high colour purity is still a challenge.In this work,unique non-concentration quenching in solid-solution Cs_(3)Gd_(1-x)Ge_(3)O_(9):xEu^(3+)(CGGO:xEu^(3+))(x=0.1-1.0)phosphors is successfully developed to achieve a highly efficient red-emitting Cs_(3)EuGe_(3)0_(9)(CEGO)phosphor.Under the optimal 464 nm blue light excitation,CEGO shows a strong red emission at 611 nm with a high colour purity of 95.07%and a high internal quantum efficiency of 94%.Impressively,this red-emitting CEGO phosphor exhibits a better thermal stability at higher temperatures(175-250℃,>90%)than typical red K2SiF6:Mn^(4+)and Y203:Eu^(3+)phosphors,and has a remarkable volumetric negative thermal expansion(coefficient of thermal expansion,a=—5.06×10^(-5)/℃,25-250℃).By employing this red CEGO phosphor,a fabricated pc-WLED emits warm white light with colour coordinates(0.364,0.383),a high colour rendering index(CRI=89.7),and a low colour coordinate temperature(CCT=4508 K).These results indicate that this highly efficient red-emitting phosphor has great potential as a red component for pc-WLEDs,opening a new perspective for developing new phosphor materials. | Peipei Dang Guogang Li Xiaohan Yun Qianqian Zhang Dongjie Liu Hongzhou Lian Mengmeng Shang Jun Lin | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2: | 6 |
| 10 | T-2 toxin induces developmental toxicity and apoptosis in zebrafish embryos显示文摘T-2 toxin is one of the most important trichothecene mycotoxins occurring in various agriculture products. The developmental toxicity of T-2 toxin and the exact mechanism of action at early life stages are not understood precisely. Zebrafish embryos were exposed to different concentrations of the toxin at 4–6 hours post fertilization(hpf) stage of development, and were observed for different developmental toxic effects at 24, 48, 72, and 144 hpf. Exposure to 0.20 μmol/L or higher concentrations of T-2 toxin significantly increased the mortality and malformation rate such as tail deformities, cardiovascular defects and behavioral changes in early developmental stages of zebrafish. T-2 toxin exposure resulted in significant increases in reactive oxygen species(ROS) production and cell apoptosis, mainly in the tail areas, as revealed by Acridine Orange staining at 24 hpf. In addition, T-2 toxin-induced severe tail deformities could be attenuated by co-exposure to reduced glutathione(GSH). T-2 toxin and GSH co-exposure induced a significant decrease of ROS production in the embryos. | 11 | Effect of direct current pulse stimulating acupoints of JiaJi (T10-L3) and Ciliao (BL 32) with Han's Acupoint Nerve Stimulator on labour pain in women: a randomized controlled clinical study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the clinical effect and safety of direct current(DC) pulse produced by Han's Acupoint Nerve Stimulator in reduction(HANS) of labor pain.METHODS: Totally 120 participants were enrolled in this clinical trial, and were randomly divided into4 groups including: HANS group, patient controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA) group, patient-controlled epidural analgesia(PCEA) group and control group. The HANS group was treated by stimulating the acupoints of Jia Ji(T10-L3) and Ciliao(BL 32)with DC pulse of 100 Hz and 15-30 m A produced by a portable battery-powered Han's Acupoint Nerve Stimulator for 30 min. The PCIA group was intravenously infused Ondansetron(8 mg) for 5 min,then tramadol injection(1.5 mg/kg) was slowly dripped by using Baxter APⅡ electronic pump with50 m L tramadol(0.70%) + ondansetron(8 mg),background infusion 2 m L/h, PCA dose of 2 m L,lockout interval of 10 min. In PCEA group, women received intrathecal injection ropivacaine(3 mg) in L2-3, and epidural catheter was connected to Baxter APⅡ electronic pump, with 100 m L Ropivacaine(0.1%) and Sufentanil(50 ug), background infusion5 m L, Patient controlled analgesia(PCA) dose of 5m L, lockout interval of 10 min. The control group was not received analgesia. The visual analogue scale(VAS), stage and manner of labor, Apgar score of newborn, neonatal weights, oxytocin dosage,postpartum hemorrhage and side effects were monitored in all groups.RESULTS: The vital signs were all stable in the four analgesic groups. After analgesia, there was statistical difference in VAS score between HANS group and control group, between PCEA group and the control group, between PCIA group and control group. The analgesic effect in the PCEA group was significantly better than that of other two groups.The second stage of labor in the PCEA group was longer than the other three groups, showing significant difference between them. The Apgar score of newborn 1min after birth in the PCIA group was slightly lower than that of the other two groups,showing significant difference between them. The neonatal weights between four groups were not significantly different. The rate of cesarean sectionin the control group was significantly higher than that of the labor analgesia group, there was statistically difference in four groups. The number of PCIA group that used oxytocin was lower than that of other three groups. There was no significant difference in postpartum hemorrhage between four groups. The side effects of the PCEA group were itching, uroschesis and neonatal asphyxia and PCIA group were nausea and vomiting and neonatal asphyxia. | 12 | A revised species population estimate for the Bar-headed Goose(Anser indicus)显示文摘Background: The Bar-headed Goose(Anser indicus) is a species that relies heavily on the plateau wetlands of Asia and whose population was thought to be declining. Over the past decade, south-central Tibet, one of the most important wintering grounds, supported large numbers of Bar-headed Geese, but the population had not been regularly monitored in this area.Methods: We surveyed wintering Bar-headed Geese along the Yarlung Zangbo, Lhasa and Nyang Qu rivers, the three major river valleys and their tributaries in south-central Tibet in January 2014 and recorded their location, flock size and habitat utilization. Based on these data and the latest wintering counts elsewhere, we revised the population estimate for this species.Results: We recorded more than 67,000 Bar-headed Geese in south-central Tibet during January 2014. By geographic area, the geese were most abundant in the Lhasa River valley(38.5%) and the Nyang Qu River valley(31.0%), and by administrative division in Lhunzhub(27.2%) and Shigatse(26.7%). Bar-headed Geese were most often observed feeding in winter wheat fields and ploughed fields, resting on pastureland and marshes. The approximate number of 67,000 geese recorded in Tibet is more than four times the estimate of 1993 for the same region and exceeds the most recent world population estimate of 52,000–60,000. Based on our work in Tibet and the latest wintering counts available from other areas, we revised the estimated population size of this species to 97,000–118,000.Conclusions: Our result reveals a remarkable increase in the number of Bar-headed Geese wintering in south-central Tibet. This population increase most likely stems from a proliferation of cropland and especially winter wheat fields in south-central Tibet. | 13 | Numerical Research on Inlet Total Pressure Distortion in a Transonic Compressor with Non-Axisymmetric Stator Clearance显示文摘Inlet total pressure distortion has great adverse effects on the aero-engine performance. The distorted flow passes through the compressor and becomes non-uniform in the downstream blade rows. Different from previous studies based on the assumption of circumferential uniformity, this study aims to improve circumferential non-uniform flow with the non-axisymmetric structure. Non-axisymmetric stator clearance was adopted to resolve the effects of non-uniform flow caused by inlet total pressure distortion in this paper. The 9 stators with tip clearance were installed in the distorted region and the flow field structure and performance under different operating conditions was studied. The study finds that the non-axisymmetric compressor with 9 tip clearance stators can ensure compressor efficiency while improving compressor stability margin. Methods:The structure,function,drug target and vaccine target of CPR from Plasmodium falciparum were analyzed and predicted by bioinformatics methods.Results:PfCPR,which was older CPR,had close relationship with the CPR from other Plasmodium species,but it was distant from its hosts,such as Homo sapiens and Anopheles.PfCPR was located in the cellular nucleus of Plasmodium falciparum.335aa-352aa and 591aa - 608aa were inserted the interior side of the nuclear membrane,while 151aa-265aa was located in the nucleolus organizer regions.PfCPR had 40 function sites and 44 protein-protein binding sites in amino acid sequence.The teriary structure of laa-700aa was forcep-shaped with wings.15 segments of PfCPR had no homology with Homo sapien CPR and most were exposed on the surface of the protein.These segments had 25 protein-protein binding sites.While 13 other segments all possessed function sites. | 15 | Spatio-temporal Dynamic Patterns of Rural Area Development in Eastern Coastal China显示文摘The aim of this study is to evaluate the current state of rural area development at the county level in the eastern coastal China. An evaluation index system including 18 factors was developed, and a rural development index (RDI) was constructed to evaluate rural development state in 2000, 2004, and 2008. The quantitative evaluation indicated the following results. 1) This study derived four dominating components by means of principal component analysis, which can explain 78.2% of the total information, namely agricultural production input, the basic condition of agriculture, the comparative effectiveness of grain production, and the household′s own basic conditions. 2) Since the turn of the new millennium, the rural area in the eastern coastal China has experienced a rapid development in general. Well developed, developed, moderately developed and undeveloped rural areas respectively occupied 29.32%, 22.33%, 21.91%, and 10.51% in 2008. 3) The countryside had maintained a sound momentum of developing trend between 2000 and 2008, while the rural development in the eastern coastal China lacked sustainability. And 4) industrialization, urbanization, original economic basis, and location are four major driving forces of the disparity of rural area development in the eastern coastal China. | 16 | Change in Sediment Provenance Near the Current Estuary of Yellow River Since the Holocene Transgression显示文摘Sedimentary sequence and sediment provenance are important factors when it comes to the studies on marine sedimentation. This paper studies grain size distribution, lithological characteristics, major and rare earth elemental compositions, micropaleontological features and ^(14)C ages in order to examine sedimentary sequence and sediment provenance of the core BH6 drilled at the mouth of the Yellow River in Bohai Sea. According to the grain size and the micropaleontological compositions, 4 sedimentary units have been identified. Unit 1(0–8.08 mbsf) is of the delta sedimentary facies, Unit 2(8.08–12.08 mbsf) is of the neritic shelf facies, Unit 3(12.08–23.85 mbsf) is of near-estuary beach-tidal facies, and Unit 4(23.85 mbsf–) is of the continental lake facies. The deposits from Unit 1 to Unit 3 have been found to be marine strata formed after the Holocene transgression at about 10 ka BP, while Unit 4 is continental lacustrine deposit formed before 10 ka BP. The provenances of core BH6 sediments show properties of the continental crust and vary in different sedimentary periods. For Unit 4 sediments, the source regions are dispersed while the main provenance is not clear, although the parent rock characteristics of a few samples are similar to the Luanhe River sediments. For Unit 3, sediments at 21.1–23.85 mbsf have been mainly transported from the Liaohe River, while sediments above 21.1 mbsf are mainly from the Yellow River and partially from the Liaohe River. For Unit 2, the sediments have been mainly transported from the Yellow River, with a small amount from other rivers. For Unit 1, the provenance is mainly the Yellow River catchment. | 17 | Antibacterial Performance of Cu-Bearing Stainless Steel against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Whole Milk显示文摘Pathogen microorganisms exist in various environments such as dairy processing facilities.They are not easily eliminated,and signi?cantly raise the risk of bacterial contamination.The inhibition ability of a novel type 304 Cu-bearing stainless steel(304CuSS)with nano-sized Cu-rich precipitates against Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)and Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P.aeruginosa)added whole milk was investigated in this study.The results showed that after 24 h contact,the inhibition rates of the 304CuSS against S.aureus and P.aeruginosa added whole milk reached 99.2%±0.3% and 99.3%±0.2%,respectively,in contrast with the 304SS.In the plain whole milk,the inhibition rate of the 304CuSS also reached 66.9%±2.0% compared with the 304SS.The results demonstrated that the 304CuSS killed majority of the planktonic bacteria,and inhibited sessile bacteria adherence to the steel surface in the whole milk with and without bacteria addition,signi?cantly reducing the bacterial growth rate.These research outcomes explicitly show an application potential of this novel antibacterial stainless steel in the dairy related food industry. | Li Nan Guogang Ren Donghui Wang Ke Yang | 2016 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,5: | 3 |
