2Dental and periodontal phenotype in sclerostin knockout mice显示文摘Sclerostin is a Wnt signalling antagonist that controls bone metabolism.Sclerostin is expressed by osteocytes and cementocytes;however,its role in the formation of dental structures remains unclear.Here,we analysed the mandibles of sclerostin knockout mice to determine the influence of sclerostin on dental structures and dimensions using histomorphometry and micro-computed tomography(mCT)imaging.mCT and histomorphometric analyses were performed on the first lower molar and its surrounding structures in mice lacking a functional sclerostin gene and in wild-type controls.mCT on six animals in each group revealed that the dimension of the basal bone as well as the coronal and apical part of alveolar part increased in the sclerostin knockout mice.No significant differences were observed for the tooth and pulp chamber volume.Descriptive histomorphometric analyses of four wild-type and three sclerostin knockout mice demonstrated an increased width of the cementum and a concomitant moderate decrease in the periodontal space width.Taken together,these results suggest that the lack of sclerostin mainly alters the bone and cementum phenotypes rather than producing abnormalities in tooth structures such as dentin.Ulrike Kuchler Uwe Y Schwarze Toni Dobsak Patrick Heimel Dieter D Bosshardt Michaela Kneissel Reinhard Gruber 2014International Journal of Oral Science2014,6,2:7

5Caffeic acid phenethyl ester protects against oxidative stress and dampens inflammation via heme oxygenase 1显示文摘Periodontal disease is associated with chronic oxidative stress and inflammation. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester(CAPE), which is a potent inducer of heme oxygenase 1(HO1), is a central active component of propolis, and the application of propolis improves periodontal status in diabetic patients. Here, primary murine macrophages were exposed to CAPE. Target gene expression was assessed by whole-genome microarray, RT-PCR and Western blotting. The antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activities of CAPE were examined by exposure of the cells to hydrogen peroxide, saliva and periodontal pathogens. The involvement of HO1 was investigated with the HO1 inhibitor tin protoporphyrin(SnPP) and knockout mice for Nrf2, which is a transcription factor for detoxifying enzymes. CAPE increased HO1 and other heat shock proteins in murine macrophages. A p38 MAPK inhibitor and Nrf2 knockout attenuated CAPE-induced HO1 expression in macrophages. CAPE exerted strong antioxidative activity. Additionally, CAPE reduced the inflammatory response to saliva and periodontal pathogens. Blocking HO1 decreased the antioxidative activity and attenuated the anti-inflammatory activity of CAPE. In conclusion, CAPE exerted its antioxidative effects through the Nrf2-mediated HO1 pathway and its anti-inflammatory effects through NF-κB inhibition. 8MicroRNA in rectal cancer显示文摘In rectal cancer,one of the most common cancers worldwide,the proper staging of the disease determines the subsequent therapy.For those with locally advancedrectal cancer,a neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(CRT) is recommended before any surgery.However,response to CRT ranges from complete response(responders) to complete resistance(non-responders).To date we are not able to separate in advance the first group from the second,due to the absence of a valid biomarker.Therefore all patients receive the same therapy regardless of whether they reap benefits.On the other hand almost all patients receive a surgical resection after the CRT,although a watch-and-wait procedure or an endoscopic resection might be sufficient for those who responded well to the CRT.Being highly conserved regulators of gene expression,micro RNAs(mi RNAs) seem to be promising candidates for biomarkers.Many studies have been analyzing the mi RNAs expressed in rectal cancer tissue to determine a specific mi RNA profile for the ailment.Unfortunately,there is only a small overlap of identified mi RNAs between different studies,posing the question as to whether different methods or differences in tissue storage may contribute to that fact or if the results simply are not reproducible,due to unknown factors with undetected influences on mi RNA expression.Other studies sought to find mi RNAs which correlate to clinical parameters(tumor grade,nodal stage,metastasis,survival) and therapy response.Although several mi RNAs seem to have an impact on the response to CRT or might predict nodal stage,there is still only little overlap between different studies.We here aimed to summarize the current literature on rectal cancer and mi RNA expression with respect to the different relevant clinical parameters.azadeh azizian jens gruber b michael ghadimi jochen gaedcke 2016World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2016,8,5:3

11超高强混凝土中各组分与聚羧酸系超塑化剂之间的相互作用(英文)显示文摘超高强混凝土(ultra-high strength concrete,UHSC)的水灰比小于0.25,含有大量的硅灰等微细组分,这有利于颗粒的最优紧密堆积。硅灰的表面化学效应以及较大的表面积使其成为UHSC中最难被分散的组分。由甲基丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸酯及甲代烯丙基磺酸合成的聚羧酸系超塑化剂能使水泥颗粒被有效润湿,然而烯丙醚-马来酸酐合成的聚羧酸系超塑化剂可以很好地分散硅灰。这2种不同的聚羧酸系超塑化剂的复合可以使其拥有不同的分子结构,从而赋予超高强混凝土很好的流动性。当只加入1种聚羧酸系超塑化剂时其掺量为1%(质量分数,下同),而当加入这种复合聚羧酸系超塑化剂时掺量为0.5%就足够了。这2种类型的聚羧酸系超塑化剂的协同效应是由于它们的选择性吸附:甲基丙烯酸盐基的聚羧酸系超塑化剂主要吸附在水泥颗粒表面,而烯丙醚基聚羧酸系超塑化剂主要吸附在硅灰颗粒表面。实验表明:小分子量的有机酸阴离子(如:柠檬酸盐、葡萄糖酸盐及酒石酸盐中的阴离子)与聚羧酸系超塑化剂之间具有潜在的协同作用。只需加入0.1%的这些阴离子即可显著提高烯丙醚基聚羧酸系超塑化剂的作用效果。这些阴离子可以起到一种辅助作用,它们同时吸附在水泥颗粒表面以及硅灰颗粒表面。水泥颗粒的表面首先由这些阴离子所占据,而硅灰颗粒表面吸附了烯丙醚基聚羧酸系超塑化剂和这些阴离子。这些阴离子起到了一种很强的静电分散效应,使烯丙醚基聚羧酸系超塑化剂的空间位阻效应得到加强。虽然聚羧酸系超塑化剂阴离子具有缓凝作用,但是使用这种复合聚羧酸系仍能制备出高早强混凝土。SCHROFL C GRUBER M PLANK J 2010硅酸盐学报2010,38,9:3

18Creep Modeling of Magnesia-chromite Bricks in a RH Snorkel During a Process Cycle显示文摘In this paper both experimental and analytical approaches to provide the inputs for creep modeling of refractories including a newly developed high temperature compressive creep machine and an inverse estimation procedure of creep law parameters are briefly introduced.Besides,a modified shear test is applied to determine the cohesion and friction angle of refractories under shear state. A RH snorkel equipped with magnesia- chromite bricks is chosen for a case study of thermomechanical simulation applying the classical creep model and Drucker-Prager creep model available in the finite element code ABAQUS,respectively.
