| 2 | CO_2 permeability of fractured coal subject to confining pressures and elevated temperature: Experiments and modeling显示文摘The CO_2 permeability of fractured coal is of great significance to both coalbed gas extraction and CO_2 storage in coal seams, but the effects of high confining pressure, high injection pressure and elevated temperature on the CO_2 permeability of fractured coal with different fracture extents have not been investigated thoroughly. In this paper, the CO_2 permeability of fractured coals sampled from a Pingdingshan coal mine in China and artificially fractured to a certain extent is investigated through undrained triaxial tests. The CO_2 permeability is measured under the confining pressure with a range of 10–25 MPa, injection pressure with a range of 6–12 MPa and elevated temperature with a range of 25–70°C. A mechanistic model is then proposed to characterize the CO_2 permeability of the fractured coals. The effects of thermal expansion, temperature-induced reduction of adsorption capacity, and thermal micro-cracking on the CO_2 permeability are explored. The test results show that the CO_2 permeability of naturally fractured coal saliently increases with increasing injection pressure. The increase of confining pressure reduces the permeability of both naturally fractured coal and secondarily fractured coal. It is also observed that initial fracturing by external loads can enhance the permeability, but further fracturing reduces the permeability. The CO_2 permeability decreases with the elevation of temperature if the temperature is lower than 44°C, but the permeability increases with temperature once the temperature is beyond 44°C. | 3 | Pioneering function of Isl1 in the epigenetic control of cardiomyocyte cell fate显示文摘Generation of widely differing and specialized cell types from a single totipotent zygote involves large-scale transcriptional changes and chromatin reorganization. Pioneer transcription factors play key roles in programming the epigenome and facilitating recruitment of additional regulatory factors during successive cell lineage specification and differentiation steps. Here we show that Isl1 acts as a pioneer factor driving cardiomyocyte lineage commitment by shaping the chromatin landscape of cardiac progenitor cells. Using an Isl1 hypomorphic mouse line which shows congenital heart defects, genome-wide profiling of Isl1 binding together with RNA- and ATAC-sequencing of cardiac progenitor cells and their derivatives, we uncover a regulatory network downstream of Isl1 that orchestrates cardiogenesis. Mechanistically, we show that Isl1 binds to compacted chromatin and works in concert with the Brg1-Baf60c-based SWI/SNF complex to promote permissive cardiac lineage-specific alterations in the chromatin landscape not only of genes with critical functions in cardiac progenitor cells, but also of cardiomyocyte structural genes that are highly expressed when Isl1 itself is no longer present. | 4 | Optimized design and experiment on ring mold pelletizer for producing biomass fuel pellets显示文摘The forming process of biomass fuel pellets using a ring mold pelletizer was analyzed,optimized,tested and evaluated in this study.The effects of stress amplitude and the stress ratio on the fatigue failure of the ring mold under 4-,3-,and 2-roller designs were investigated.Depending on the calculation of stress amplitude acting on the ring mold,the 4-roller design was chosen for having the smallest value of stress amplitude in this condition.After determining the main design parameters,a three-dimensional model of the ring mold pelletizer was established based on the Pro/Engineer software,and the model was transferred into ADAMS software through Mechanism/Pro which is a dedicated interface software.The ADAMS software was used to run simulations.In order to obtain the highest efficiency and the lowest power consumption,the optimal result was the 4-roller design.Finally,a prototype of the ring mold pelletizer with four rollers was designed and manufactured for biomass fuel pellet production.Corn stover biomass was used as material for experimental manufacturing of fuel pellets.Test and evaluation showed that the optimized pellet durability was 99.79%with ground corn stover particles passing a screen size of 1.97 mm,moisture content of 21.2%w.b.and a material moisture conditioning time of 3.82 h.Pellets formed in the prototype ring mold pelletizer using corn stover had acceptable durability according to European standards. | Gao Wei Lope G Tabil Zhao Rongfei Liu Dejun | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016，9，3： | 3 |
