3Single small molecule-assembled nanoparticles mediate efficient oral drug delivery显示文摘Oral drug delivery,which requires surviving the harsh environment in the gastrointestinal(Gl)tract and penetrating the intestinal epithelium,has not bee n achieved using simple formulatio n nan oparticles(NPs).Medici nal natural products(MNPs)have bee n widely used in traditi onal medicine for disease management through oral consumption.However,most pharmacologically active compounds within MNPs do not have the properties suitable for oral applicatio ns.We hypothesize that some MNPs contain n atural nano materials that can convert those compounds into oral formulations by forming NPs.After screening 66 MNPs,we identified five classes of small molecules that form NPs,many of which are capable of efficient drug encapsulation and Gl penetration.We show that one of them,dehydrotrametenolic acid(DTA),is capable of mediating oral delivery for effective disease treatment.We determined that DTA NPs assemble through hydrogen bonding and penetra怕the Gl tract via apical sodium-depe ndent bile acid tran sporter.Our study reveals a no vel class of single comp orient,small molecule-assembled NPs for oral drug delivery,and suggests a n ovel approach to modernizi ng MNPs through nano material discovery.Xin Yang Chao Ma Zeming Chen Jun Liu Fuyao Liu Rongbin Xie Haitian Zhao Gang Deng Ann TChen Ningbo Gong Lei Yao Pengjian Zuo Kangkang Zhi Jiacheng Wang Xiaobin Gao Jing Wang Louzhen Fan Jiangbing Zhou 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:4
4Short-term climatic impacts of afforestation in the East Asian monsoon region显示文摘The influence of changes in vegetation cover on short-term climate over the East Asian monsoon region is simulated using the Community Climate System Model Version 3.5.The results show the annual mean surface air temperature significantly decreases by 0.93°C in response to afforestation over the East Asian monsoon region.Also,surface air temperature decreases by 1.46 and 0.40°C in summer and winter,respectively.The cooling is caused by enhanced evapotranspiration(ET) produced by increased forest cover.Evapotranspiration is greater in summer than in winter,so summer cooling is greater than winter cooling.The annual mean precipitation increases in response to afforestation,with a maximum of 7% in April.Water vapor increases significantly because of greater latent heat flux release.Meanwhile,afforestation leads to higher surface roughness,which decreases surface wind speed and induces an ascending air motion.These factors can produce more clouds and precipitation.Moreover,the surface albedo and the reflective solar radiation are reduced in response to afforestation.MA Di LIU ZhengYu Lü ShiHua MICHAEL Notaro RONG XinYao CHENG GuangShan WANG FuYao 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18:3

10Data-Driven Prediction of Mechanical Properties in Support of Rapid Certification of Additively Manufactured Alloys显示文摘Predicting the mechanical properties of additively manufactured parts is often a tedious process,requiring the integration of multiple stand-alone and expensive simulations.Furthermore,as properties are highly location-dependent due to repeated heating and cooling cycles,the properties prediction models must be run for multiple locations before the part-level performance can be analyzed for certification,compounding the computational expense.This work has proposed a rapid prediction framework that replaces the physics-based mechanistic models with Gaussian process metamodels,a type of machine learning model for statistical inference with limited data.The metamodels can predict the varying properties within an entire part in a fraction of the time while providing uncertainty quantification.The framework was demonstrated with the prediction of the tensile yield strength of Ferrium?PH48S maraging stainless steel fabricated by additive manufacturing.Impressive agreement was found between the metamodels and the mechanistic models,and the computation was dramatically decreased from hours of physics-based simulations to less than a second with metamodels.This method can be extended to predict various materials properties in different alloy systems whose processstructure-property-performance interrelationships are linked by mechanistic models.It is powerful for rapidly identifying the spatial properties of a part with compositional and processing parameter variations,and can support part certification by providing a fast interface between materials models and part-level thermal and performance simulations.Fuyao Yan Yu-Chin Chan Abhinav Saboo Jiten Shah Gregory BOlson Wei Chen 2018Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2018,,12:1
11Paleoseismological Study of the Late Quaternary Slip-rate along the South Barkol Basin Fault and Its Tectonic Implications,Eastern Tian Shan,Xinjiang显示文摘The easternmost Tian Shan lies in eastern Xinjiang, Central Asia. The South Barkol basin fault(SBF) in the northern part of the easternmost Tian Shan is a major tectonic structure in this orogenic region. The late Quaternary activity, paleoseismology, and deformation characteristics of the fault provide important clues for understanding the tectonic process of the eastern Tian Shan orogen and implementing seismic mitigation. Through interpretation of high-resolution satellite images, unmanned aerial vehicle measurements, and detailed geological and geomorphic investigations, we suggest that the fault exhibits clear left-lateral slip along its western segment. Paleoseismic trenches dug near Xiongkuer reveal evidence of six large paleoearthquakes. The four latest paleoearthquakes were dated: the oldest event occurred at 4663 BC–3839 BC. Data on the horizontal offsets along the probable 1842 Barkol earthquake coseismic rupture suggest clear multiple relationships between cumulative offsets and possible ~4 m of coseismic left-lateral slip per event. From the cumulative offsets and 14 C sample ages, we suggest an average Holocene left-lateral slip rate of 2.4–2.8 mm/a on the SBF, accounting for ~80% of lateral deformation within the entire eastern Tian Shan fault system. This result is comparable with the shortening rate of 2–4 mm/a in the whole eastern Tian Shan, indicating an equal role of strike-slip tectonics and compressional tectonics in this orogen, and that the SBF may accommodate substantial lateral tectonic deformation.WU Fuyao RAN Yongkang XU Liangxin CAO Jun LI An 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,2:1
12Experimental Study on Insulation Properties of Epoxy Casting Resins Using High-frequency Square Waveforms显示文摘Although the transmission efficiency of high-voltage high-frequency transformers improve as the rated frequency increases,their insulation performance is severely affected.Through a high-frequency experimental platform,insulation tests on epoxy casting resins are carried out using high-frequency square wave signals.Subsequently,the variations of discharge inception and flashover voltages with frequency were analyzed based on the Secondary Electron Emission Avalanche(SEEA)model.The breakdown characteristics of epoxy casting resins are studied based on the Weibull distribution analysis and inverse power function model.Finally,an insulation test standard is proposed based on the breakdown characteristics of epoxy casting resins for dry-type HV-HF transformers.The results show that,the flashover voltages are noticeably reduced with the increase of frequency while the discharge inception is hardly affected by frequency.Moreover,the drop in breakdown voltages and insulation lifetime shortening are caused by high-frequency thermal effects.Also,the applied voltages of epoxy resin cast dry-type HV-HF transformers are recommended to be 3.27 to 3.49 times their maximum operating voltages in 1min applied withstand tests.The applied voltages of the induced withstand tests should be 2.20 to 2.52 times their maximum operating voltages.Yikun Zhao Guoqiang Zhang Dong Han Kang Li Zongjia Qiu Fuyao Yang 2021CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,6:1

18One-step floating conversion of biomass into highly graphitized and continuous carbon nanotube yarns显示文摘The rapid growth of the demand for carbon nanotubes(CNTs) has greatly promoted their large-scale synthesis and development. However,the continuous production of CNT fibers by floating catalyst chemical vapor deposition(FCCVD) requires a large amount of non-renewable carbon sources. Here, the continuous production of highly graphitized CNT yarns from biomass tannic acid(TA) is reported. The chelation of TA and catalyst promotes the rapid cracking of biomass into carbon source gas, and the pyrolysis cracking produces the reducing gas, which solves the problems of the continuous production of CNT yarns using biomass. Through simple twisting, the mechanical strength of CNT yarn can reach 886 ± 46 MPa, and the electrical conductivity and graphitization(IG/ID) can reach 2 × 10^(5)S m^(-1)and 6.3, respectively. ACRYLONITRILE AND MALEIC ANHYDRIDE COPOLYMERIC MEMBRANES显示文摘Acrylonitrile(AN) and maleic anhydride(MA) copolymer has been synthesized by radical polymerization using ammonium persulfate and sodium bisulfite as initiator.The pervaporation properties of the copolymeric membranes prepared have been investigated for the first time.
