Single small molecule-assembled nanoparticles mediate efficient oral drug delivery显示文摘Oral drug delivery, which requires surviving the harsh environment in the gastrointestinal(Gl)tract and penetrating the intestinal epithelium, has not bee n achieved using simple formulatio n nan oparticles(NPs).Medici nal natural products(MNPs)have bee n widely used in traditi onal medicine for disease management through oral consumption. However, most pharmacologically active compounds within MNPs do not have the properties suitable for oral applicatio ns.We hypothesize that some MNPs contain n atural nano materials that can convert those compounds into oral formulations by forming NPs.After screening 66 MNPs,we identified five classes of small molecules that form NPs,many of which are capable of efficient drug encapsulation and Gl penetration. We show that one of them, dehydrotrametenolic acid(DTA),is capable of mediating oral delivery for effective disease treatment. We determined that DTA NPs assemble through hydrogen bonding and penetra怕the Gl tract via apical sodium-depe ndent bile acid tran sporter. Our study reveals a no vel class of single comp orient, small molecule-assembled NPs for oral drug delivery, and suggests a n ovel approach to modernizi ng MNPs through nano material discovery. | Xin Yang Chao Ma Zeming Chen Jun Liu Fuyao Liu Rongbin Xie Haitian Zhao Gang Deng Ann TChen Ningbo Gong Lei Yao Pengjian Zuo Kangkang Zhi Jiacheng Wang Xiaobin Gao Jing Wang Louzhen Fan Jiangbing Zhou | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,10: | 4
Short-term climatic impacts of afforestation in the East Asian monsoon region显示文摘The influence of changes in vegetation cover on short-term climate over the East Asian monsoon region is simulated using the Community Climate System Model Version 3.5.The results show the annual mean surface air temperature significantly decreases by 0.93°C in response to afforestation over the East Asian monsoon region. Also, surface air temperature decreases by 1.46 and 0.40°C in summer and winter, respectively. The cooling is caused by enhanced evapotranspiration(ET) produced by increased forest cover.Evapotranspiration is greater in summer than in winter,so summer cooling is greater than winter cooling. The annual mean precipitation increases in response to afforestation, with a maximum of 7% in April.Water vapor increases significantly because of greater latent heat flux release.Meanwhile, afforestation leads to higher surface roughness, which decreases surface wind speed and induces an ascending air motion. These factors can produce more clouds and precipitation. Moreover, the surface albedo and the reflective solar radiation are reduced in response to afforestation. | MA Di LIU ZhengYu Lü ShiHua MICHAEL Notaro RONG XinYao CHENG GuangShan WANG FuYao | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18: | 3
Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical Sciences显示文摘Drug discovery and development affects various aspects of human health and dramatically impacts the pharmaceutical market. However, investments in a new drug often go unrewarded due to the long and complex process of drug research and development(R&D).With the advancement of experimental technology and computer hardware, artificial intelligence(AI)has recently emerged as a leading tool in analyzing abundant and high-dimensional data.Explosive growth in the size of biomedical data provides advantages in applying AI in all stages of drug R&D.Driven by big data in biomedicine,AI has led to a revolution in drug R&D,due to its ability to discover new drugs more efficiently and at lower cost. This review begins with a brief overview of common AI models in the field of drug discovery;then,it summarizes and discusses in depth their specific applications in various stages of drug R&D,such as target discovery, drug discovery and design, preclinical research, automated drug synthesis, and influences in the pharmaceutical market. Finally, the major limitations of AI in drug R&D are fully discussed and possible solutions are proposed. | Mingkun Lu Jiayi Yin Qi Zhu Gaole Lin Minjie Mou Fuyao Liu Ziqi Pan Nanxin You Xichen Lian Fengcheng Li Hongning Zhang Lingyan Zheng Wei Zhang Hanyu Zhang Zihao Shen Zhen Gu Honglin Li Feng Zhu | 2023 | Engineering2023,,8: | 1

One-step floating conversion of biomass into highly graphitized and continuous carbon nanotube yarns显示文摘The rapid growth of the demand for carbon nanotubes(CNTs) has greatly promoted their large-scale synthesis and development. However, the continuous production of CNT fibers by floating catalyst chemical vapor deposition(FCCVD) requires a large amount of non-renewable carbon sources. Here, the continuous production of highly graphitized CNT yarns from biomass tannic acid(TA) is reported. The chelation of TA and catalyst promotes the rapid cracking of biomass into carbon source gas, and the pyrolysis cracking produces the reducing gas, which solves the problems of the continuous production of CNT yarns using biomass. Through simple twisting, the mechanical strength of CNT yarn can reach 886 ± 46 MPa, and the electrical conductivity and graphitization(IG/ID) can reach 2 × 10^(5)S m^(-1)and 6.3, respectively. This work presents a promising solution for the continuous preparation of CNT yarns based on green raw material. | Gongxun Zhai Qianqian Wang Fuyao Liu Zexu Hu Chao Jia Dengxin Li Hengxue Xiang Meifang Zhu | 2023 | Green Energy & Environment2023,8,6: | 0
Cause Analysis and Preventive Measures of Drug Shortage显示文摘Objective To study the current situation and the root cause of drug shortage in China, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions accordingly for relevant national policy decisions. Methods Based on literature research, questionnaire survey and expert consultation, the causes of drug shortage in China were comprehensively investigated, and fishbone diagram was used to further analyze the logical relationship among the causes. Results and Conclusion The main reasons for the shortage of drugs are the low profit of production enterprises and insufficient active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The other reasons include uncertain demand, standard problem and few exclusive manufacturers. Besides, the monopoly of circulation enterprises also leads to the shortage of drugs to a certain extent. It is suggested that we should increase the punishment of monopoly, optimize the market environment, and establish a reasonable drug price mechanism. In addition, enterprises should participate in the information communication platform of medical institutions to solve the asymmetry between supply and demand. The research on clinical drugs to substitute drugs in need should be strengthened, and the reporting system of drug discontinuation should be improved. | Zhou Ziyang Ma Jia Liu Fuyao Liu Yuhan Sun Lihua | 2022 | Asian Journal of Social Pharmacy2022,17,2: | 0
Tissue Engineering in Neuroscience: Applications and Perspectives显示文摘Neurological disorders have always been a threat to human physical and mental health nowadays, which are closely related to the nonregeneration of neurons in the nervous system(NS).The damage to the NS is currently difficult to repair using conventional therapies, such as surgery and medication. Therefore, repairing the damaged NS has always been a vast challenge in the area of neurology.Tissue engineering(TE),which integrates the cell biology and materials science to reconstruct or repair organs and tissues, has widespread applications in bone, periodontal tissue defects, skin repairs, and corneal transplantation.Recently, tremendous advances have been made in TE regarding neuroscience. In this review,we summarize TE’s recent progress in neuroscience, including pathological mechanisms of various neurological disorders, the concepts and classification of TE,and the most recent development of TE in neuroscience.Lastly,we prospect the future directions and unresolved problems of TE in neuroscience. | Xiaoge Zhang Fuyao Liu Zhen Gu | 2023 | Biomedical Engineering Frontiers2023,4,1: | 0
Research on the Price Level of Drugs in Short Supply in China显示文摘Objective To determine the price level of drugs in short supply and conduct affordability evaluations, thus putting forward countermeasures and suggestions for the management of prices of these drugs. Methods Taking the national list of drugs in short supply and the national key monitoring list of clinically essential drugs in short supply as the research objects, the bid-winning prices were searched through various bidding websites across the country, and the price levels of the varieties in the list were evaluated through fixed base price index, median price ratio and other indicators. The per capita income evaluation method was used to evaluate the affordability of the drugs on the list. Results and Conclusion Among the 30 varieties with valid international reference prices,25 are higher than the international reference prices. The prices of 14 kinds of drugs are 1-5 times higher than the international reference prices. The prices of 10 kinds of drugs are 6-35 times higher than the international reference prices. In rural and urban areas,50%and 73%of the drugs in short supply cost more than two times of the daily income for each course of treatment. The current price levels of selected drugs in short supply are generally high.It is recommended that these drugs should be classified and managed.Besides, the shortage of drugs should be included in the centralized procurement organized by the state to solve the unstable supply in the market. | Liu Fuyao Sun Lihua | 2022 | Asian Journal of Social Pharmacy2022,17,3: | 0
