1Recent research advances on Chromobacterium violaceum显示文摘Chromobacterium violaceum is a gram-negative bacterium, which has been used widely in microbiology labs involved in quorum sensing(QS) research. Among the QS-regulated traits of this bacterium, violacein production has received the maximum attention. Violacein production in this organism, however is not under sole control of QS machinery, and other QSregulated traits of this bacterium also need to be investigated in better detail. Though not often involved in human infections, this bacterium is being viewed as an emerging pathogen. 3Cardioprotective activity of alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Miers in calcium chloride-induced cardiac arrhythmia in rats显示文摘The present study investigated the antiarrhythmic activity of alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia (T.cordifolia) in CaCl 2 induced arrhythmia.CaCl 2 (25 mg/kg) was administered by intravenous infusion (iv) to produce arrhythmia in rats.The animals were then treated with T.cordifolia extract (150,250,and 450 mg/kg) and verapamil (5 mg/kg,iv).Lead II electrocardiogram was monitored.Plasma calcium,sodium and potassium levels were measured.In CaCl 2 induced arrhythmia,heart rate was decreased by 41.10%,T.cordifolia at 150,300,and 450 mg/kg decreased the heart rate by 26.30%,29.16%,and 38.29%,respectively,and verapamil reduced the heart rate by 9.70% compared to the normal group.The PQRST waves were normalized and atrial and ventricular fibrillation was controlled in rats treated with verapamil and T.cordifolia.CaCl 2 increased calcium and sodium levels and decreased potassium levels in blood.T.cordifolia dose-dependently decreased calcium and sodium levels and increased potassium levels.Hence,T.cordifolia can be used in antiarrhythmic clinical settings and beneficial in atrial and ventricular fibrillation and flutter and may be indicated in ventricular tachyarrhythmia.Ashish Kumar Sharma Kunal Kishore Divya Sharma B.P Srinivasan Shyam Sunder Agarwal Ashok Sharma Santosh Kumar Singh Samir Gaur Vijay Singh Jatav 2011The Journal of Biomedical Research2011,25,4:2

5Involvement of adenosine and standardization of aqueous extract of garlic(Allium sativum Linn.)on cardioprotective and cardiodepressant properties in ischemic preconditioning and myocardial ischemia-reperfusion induced cardiac injury显示文摘The present study investigated the effect of garlic(Allium sativum Linn.)aqueous extracts on ischemic preconditioning and ischemia-reperfusion induced cardiac injury,as well as adenosine involvement in ischemic preconditioning and garlic extract induced cardioprotection.A model of ischemia-reperfusion injury was established using Langendorff apparatus.Aqueous extract of garlic dose was standardized(0.5%,0.4%,0.3%,0.2%,0.1%,0.07%,0.05%,0.03%,0.01%),and the 0.05% dose was found to be the most effective.Higher doses(more than 0.05%)were highly toxic,causing arrhythmia and cardiodepression,whereas the lower doses were ineffective.Garlic exaggerated the cardioprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning.The cardioprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning and garlic cardioprotection was significantly attenuated by theophylline(1,000 μmol/L)and 8-SPT(10 mg/kg,i.p.)and expressed by increased myocardial infarct size,increased LDH level,and reduced nitrite and adenosine levels.These findings suggest that adenosine is involved in the pharmacological and molecular mechanism of garlic induced cardioprotection and mediated by the modulation of nitric oxide.Ashish Kumar Sharma Arshee Munajjam Bhawna Vaishnav Richa Sharma Ashok Sharma Kunal Kishore Akash Sharma Divya Sharma Rita Kumari Ashish Tiwari Santosh Kumar Singh Samir Gaur Vijay Singh Jatav Barthu Parthi Srinivasan Shyam Sunder Agarwal 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,1:1
6Critical care practice in India:Results of the intensive care unit need assessment survey(ININ2018)显示文摘BACKGROUND A diverse country like India may have variable intensive care units(ICUs)practices at state and city levels.AIM To gain insight into clinical services and processes of care in ICUs in India,this would help plan for potential educational and quality improvement interventions.METHODS The Indian ICU needs assessment research group of diverse-skilled individuals was formed.A pan-India survey'Indian National ICU Needs'assessment(ININ 2018-I)was designed on google forms and deployed from July 23rd-August 25th,2018.The survey was sent to select distribution lists of ICU providers from all 29 states and 7 union territories(UTs).In addition to emails and phone calls,social medial applications-WhatsApp™,Facebook™and LinkedIn™were used to remind and motivate providers.By completing and submitting the survey,providers gave their consent for research purposes.This study was deemed eligible for category-2 Institutional Review Board exempt status.RESULTS There were total 134 adult/adult-pediatrics ICU responses from 24(83%out of 29)states,and two(28%out of 7)UTs in 61 cities.They had median(IQR)16(10-25)beds and most,were mixed medical-surgical,111(83%),with 108(81%)being adult-only ICUs.Representative responders were young,median(IQR),38(32-44)years age and majority,n=108(81%)were males.The consultants were,n=101(75%).A total of 77(57%)reported to have 24 h in-house intensivist.A total of 68(51%)ICUs reported to have either 2:1 or 2≥:1 patient:nurse ratio.More than 80%of the ICUs were open,and mixed type.Protocols followed regularly by the ICUs included sepsis care,ventilator-associated pneumonia(83%each);nutrition(82%),deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis(87%),stress ulcer prophylaxis(88%)and glycemic control(92%).Digital infrastructure was found to be poor,with only 46%of the ICUs reporting high-speed internet availability.CONCLUSION In this large,national,semi-structured,need-assessment survey,the need for improved manpower including;in-house intensivists,and decreasing patient-tonurse ratios was evident.Sepsis was the most common diagnosis and quality and research initiatives to decrease sepsis mortality and ICU length of stay could be prioritized.Additionally,subsequent surveys can focus on digital infrastructure for standardized care and efficient resource utilization and enhancing compliance with existing protocols.Rahul Kashyap Kirtivardhan Vashistha Chetan Saini Taru Dutt Dileep Raman Vikas Bansal Harpreet Singh Geeta Bhandari Nagarajan Ramakrishnan Harshit Seth Divya Sharma Premkumar Seshadri Mradul Kumar Daga Mohan Gurjar Yash Javeri Salim Surani Joseph Varon 2020World Journal of Critical Care Medicine2020,9,2:1

10Secure and Optimal LOADng Routing for IoT with Composite RoutingMetric显示文摘Security is the one of the major challenges for routing the data between the source and destination in an Internet of Things(IoT)network.To overcome this challenge,a secure Lightweight On-demand Ad hoc Distancevector—Next Generation(LOADng)Routing Protocol is proposed in this paper.As the LOADng protocol is the second version of Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV)protocol,it retains most of the basic functionality and characteristics of AODV.During the route discovery process,the cyclic shift transposition algorithm(CSTA)is used to encrypt the control packets of the LOADng protocol to improve its security.CSTA approach only derives transposition and substitution without product cipher with respect to input data.Besides this,for choosing the best probable path between the source and destination,routing metrics such as link quality Indicator(LQI),hop count(HC)and queue length(QL)are included in the control packets.The data is then securely sent using CSTA using the optimal secure path selected.Experimental Results depict that the proposed secure and optimal LOADng(SO-LOADng)using CSTA encryption obtains better throughput,delivery ratio encryption time and decryption time than the existing state-ofart approaches.Divya Sharma Sanjay Jain Vivek Maik 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,1:0
11Optimized Tuning of LOADng Routing Protocol Parameters for IoT显示文摘Interconnected devices and intelligent applications have slashed human intervention in the Internet of Things(IoT),making it possible to accomplish tasks with less human interaction.However,it faces many problems,including lower capacity links,energy utilization,enhancement of resources and limited resources due to its openness,heterogeneity,limited resources and extensiveness.It is challenging to route packets in such a constrained environment.In an IoT network constrained by limited resources,minimal routing control overhead is required without packet loss.Such constrained environments can be improved through the optimal routing protocol.It is challenging to route packets in such a constrained environment.Thus,this work is motivated to present an efficient routing protocol for enhancing the lifetime of the IoT network.Lightweight On-demand Ad hoc Distance-vector Routing Protocol—Next Generation(LOADng)protocol is an extended version of the Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV)protocol.Unlike AODV,LOADng is a lighter version that forbids the intermediate nodes on the route to send a route reply(RREP)for the route request(RREQ),which originated from the source.A resource-constrained IoT network demands minimal routing control overhead and faster packet delivery.So,in this paper,the parameters of the LOADng routing protocol are optimized using the black widow optimization(BWO)algorithm to reduce the control overhead and delay.Furthermore,the performance of the proposed model is analyzed with the default LOADng in terms of delay,delivery ratio and overhead.Obtained results show that the LOADng-BWO protocol outperforms the conventional LOADng protocol.Divya Sharma Sanjay Jain Vivek Maik 2023Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,46,8:0
12Evaluation of antimicrobial activity and bronchodialator effect of a polyherbal drug-Shrishadi显示文摘Objective:To investigate antimicrobial and bronchodialator effect of hydroalcholic extract of polyherbal drug Shirishadi containing Shirisha(Albezzia lebbeck),Nagarmotha(Cyprus ratandus) & Kantakari(Solanum xanthocarpum).Methods:Antimicrobial activity was evaluated by discdiffusion method and MIC,MBC,MFC were calculated by micro dilution method.Hydroalcholic extract of this preparation was investigated for its phytochemical analysis,phenol and Oavonoid were determined by speclrophotometric method and in vivo bronchodilator effect was analysed by convulsion time.Results:The phytochemical tests revealed presence of alkaloids, anthraquinones,carbohydrates,flavonoids,saponins and tannins.The antimicrobial result showed the MIC of 6.25 mg/ml.against Staphylococcus aureus and 12.5 mg/mL.for Escherichia coli and 12.5 mg/mL against remaining bacteria tested,with strong antifungal activity.The maximum inhibition zone is found against Pseudomonas aeruginosa with MIC 16 mg/mL Drug showed significant bronchodilator effect with 27.86%& 36.13%increase in preconvulsion time of guinea pigs prebeated with 100 & 200 mg/kg body weight of extract.Conclusions:The study reveals that the extracts possess antibacterial activity and antifungal activity in a dose dependent manner.
