1Textural characteristics,surface chemistry and oxidation of activated carbon显示文摘Numerous researches were reviewed and interpreted to depict a comprehensive illustration of activated carbon and its behavior towards oxidation.Activated carbon as one of the most important adsorbents is tried to be described in this review paper by terms of its'Textural Characteristics'and'Surface Chemistry'.These two terms,coupled with each other,are responsible for behavior of activated carbon in adsorption processes and in catalytic applications.Although as-prepared activated carbons are usually nonselective and their surfaces suffer from lack of enough reactive groups,their different aspects may be improved and developed by diverse types of modifications.Oxidation is one of the most conventional modifications used for activated carbons.It may be used as a final modification or as a pre-modification followed by further treatment.In this paper,methods of oxidation of activated carbon and other graphene-layer carbon materials are introduced and wet oxidation as an extensively-used category of oxidation is discussed in more detail.Wan Mohd Ashri Wan Daud Amir Hossein Houshamnd 2010Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2010,19,3:16

3Effect of dietary docosahexaenoic acid on lipogenesis and lipolysis in black sea bream,Acanthopagrus schlegeli显示文摘Hatchery-reared juvenile black sea breams are characterized by a low level of highly unsaturated fatty acids in their bodies, as compared with wild fish. To assess the effect of docosahaxaenoic acid (DHA) on lipogenic and lipolysis enzymes, one-year fish were reared on a casein-based purified diet and a DHA fortified diet (1.5% DHA ethyl ester/kg diet) for 60 d, followed with a period of 55 d for starvation. Dietary DHA was effectively incorporated into the fish body. Fortification of DHA depressed activities of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and NADP-isocitrate dehydrogenase as lipogenic enzymes in the hepatopancreas and intraperitoneal fat body. Carnitine palmitoyltransferase as lipolysis enzyme in the hepatopancreas was active in the DHA fortified fish. Starvation after feeding experiment induced increased carnitine palmitoyltransferase activity in both control and DHA fortified fish and the activity remained higher in the DHA fortified fish, while the monoenes were selectively consumed prior to highly unsaturated fatty acids. 4混掺纤维RPC增韧特性试验研究显示文摘采用钢纤维与粗聚烯烃纤维或细聚乙烯醇纤维混掺技术,制备了新型超高强度活性粉末混凝土(RPC),以改善RPC的韧性及脆性;由弯曲试验测其荷载-位移曲线,分析了纤维品种、掺量变化对新型RPC韧性的影响规律,并对比了在胶凝材料中添加超细水泥或硅灰所制备的RPC的韧性.结果表明:混掺纤维RPC的荷载-位移曲线具有二次硬化特征;混掺纤维RPC的韧性指标明显高于单掺钢纤维RPC,以1%钢纤维体积分数与9kg/m3粗聚烯烃纤维混掺所制备的超细水泥RPC韧性指标T(7)比单掺钢纤维时提高70%;从经济性看,以1%钢纤维体积分数与粗聚烯烃纤维或细聚乙烯醇纤维混掺对RPC增韧效果更优;当钢纤维体积分数为2%时,细聚乙烯醇纤维掺量不宜高于9kg/m3;超细水泥RPC韧性优于硅灰RPC试件.邓宗才 DAUD Jumbe R 2015建筑材料学报2015,18,2:10
5Stopping or reducing dietary fiber intake reduces constipation and its associated symptoms显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of reducing dietary fiber on patients with idiopathic constipation. METHODS: Sixty-three cases of idiopathic constipation presenting between May 2008 and May 2010 were enrolled into the study after colonoscopy excluded an organic cause of the constipation. Patients with previous colon surgery or a medical cause of their constipation were excluded. All patients were given an explanation on the role of fiber in the gastrointestinal tract. They were then asked to go on a no fiber diet for 2 wk. Thereafter, they were asked to reduce the amount of dietary fiber intake to a level that they found acceptable. Dietary fiber intake, symptoms of constipation, difficulty in evacuation of stools, anal bleeding, abdominal bloating or abdominal pain were recorded at 1 and 6 mo. RESULTS: The median age of the patients (16 male, 47 female) was 47 years (range, 20-80 years). At 6 mo, 41 patients remained on a no fiber diet, 16 on a reduced fiber diet, and 6 resumed their high fiber diet for religious or personal reasons. Patients who stopped or reduced dietary fiber had significant improvement in their symp-toms while those who continued on a high fiber diet had no change. Of those who stopped fiber completely, the bowel frequency increased from one motion in 3.75 d (± 1.59 d) to one motion in 1.0 d (± 0.0 d) (P < 0.001); those with reduced fiber intake had increased bowel frequency from a mean of one motion per 4.19 d (± 2.09 d) to one motion per 1.9 d (± 1.21 d) on a reduced fiber diet (P < 0.001); those who remained on a high fiber diet continued to have a mean of one motion per 6.83 d (± 1.03 d) before and after consultation. For no fiber, reduced fiber and high fiber groups, respectively, symptoms of bloating were present in 0%, 31.3% and 100% (P < 0.001) and straining to pass stools occurred in 0%, 43.8% and 100% (P < 0.001). 6急性视神经炎后视神经功能与视觉诱发电位的研究(英文)显示文摘目的:比较视神经炎患者和正常人的视神经功能与视觉诱发电位。方法:本研究为2011年9月至2013年2月在马来西亚大学眼科医院进行的横断面研究。研究包含在检查前3mo至2y间发生特发性神经炎一次的视神经炎患者20例和10例正常人。眼科检查包括视力、色觉、视觉灵敏度、视野和视觉诱发电位。独立t检验用于比较视神经炎组与对照组视神经功能和VEP参数的差异。在参数非正态分布时,Mann-Whitney试验用于比较两组间的中位数。结果:视神经炎组的平均年龄为30.8岁。在视神经炎发作至评估期间的平均持续时间为6.6个月。视神经炎组视力较差,平均LogM AR值(0.52)明显高于对照组(P=0.001)。色觉下降,视神经炎组的平均值为63%(P=0.001)。视神经炎患者的对比敏感度在四个空间频率上均有所下降[3CPD(P=0.029),6CPD(P=0.026),12CPD(P=0.002)、18CPD(P=0.006)]。视神经炎组的视野下降有统计学意义(P<0.001)。与对照组相比,视神经炎组的VEP P100潜伏期有轻微延长。但使用棋盘格模式1或2时,VEP潜伏期的差异不显著。视神经炎患者的VEP振幅较高,但两组差异无统计学意义。结论:视神经炎急性发作,平均6mo后视神经功能(即视力、色觉、对比敏感度和视野)显著下降。视神经炎组和对照组的VEP振幅和潜伏期无显著差异。VEP可能不是理想的诊断视神经炎既往发作史的试验,尽管VEP参数在浮动后趋于正常。Evelyn Tai Li Min Ng Seok Hui Jakiyah Daud Raja Azmi Mohd Noor Wan-Hazabbah Wan Hitam 2017国际眼科杂志2017,17,5:5

8A novel coordinated control strategy considering power smoothing for a hybrid photovoltaic/battery energy storage system显示文摘This work presents a novel coordinated control strategy of a hybrid photovoltaic/battery energy storage(PV/BES) system. Different controller operation modes are simulated considering normal, high fluctuation and emergency conditions. When the system is grid-connected, BES regulates the fluctuated power output which ensures smooth net injected power from the PV/BES system. In islanded operation, BES system is transferred to single master operation during which the frequency and voltage of the islanded microgrid are regulated at the desired level. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation validates the proposed method and obtained favorable results on power set-point tracking strategies with very small deviations of net output power compared to the power set-point. 9Effects of plant growth regulators, carbon sources and pH values on callus induction in Aquilaria malaccensis leaf explants and characteristics of the resultant calli显示文摘The endangered tropical tree, Aquilaria malaccensis, produces agarwood for use in fragrance and medicines. Efforts are currently underway to produce valuable agarwood compoundsn tissue culture. The purpose of this study was to develop an optimal growth medium, specifically, the best hormone combination for callus suspension culture. Using nursery-grown A. malaccensis, sterilized leaf explants were first incubated on basic Murashige and Skoog(MS) gel medium containing 15g/L sucrose and at pH 5.7. Different auxin types including 1-naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA), 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D), and indole-3-butyric acid(IBA), were tested at various concentrations(0.55, 1.1 and 1.65 μM) using the basic medium. Leaf explants were incubated for 30 days in the dark. Callus induced by 1.1 μM NAA had the highest biomass dry weight(DW) of 17.3 mg; however the callus was of a compact type. This auxin concentration was then combined with either 6-benzylaminopurine(BAP) or kinetin at 0.55, 1.1, 2.2 or 3.3 μM to induce growth of friable callus. The 1.1μM NAA + 2.2μM BAP combination produced friable callus with the highest biomass(93.3mg DW). When testing the different carbon sources and pHs, sucrose at 15g/L and pH at 5.7 yielded highest biomasses at 87.7mg and 83 mg DW, respectively. Microscopic observations revealed the arrangement of the friable cells as loosely packed with relatively large cells, while for the compact callus, the cells were small and densely packed.
