| 1 | Nutritional Status of Children during and post-Global Economic Crisis in China显示文摘Objective To describe the impact of the global economic crisis on the nutritional status of children in China during and after the crisis.Methods Data from 1990 to 2010 were sourced from the National Food and Nutrition Surveillance System.Approximately 16 000 children under 5 years old were selected using a stratified random cluster method from 40 surveillance sites.Anthropometric and hemoglobin measurements for children under 5 were conducted.Nutritional status was determined according to WHO child growth standards.Results Prevalence of underweight and stunting in children under 5 had a downward trend.Underweight prevalence was close to normal (less than 5%),with prevalence of stunting 12.6% in 2009 and 12.1% in 2010 in rural areas.Prevalence of stunting in infants under 6 months and 6‐12 months old in poorer rural areas increased from 5.7%‐9.1% and 6.7%‐12.5%,respectively,in 2008‐2009.This trend also continued post‐crisis in 2010.Prevalence of stunting in children left behind by mothers was 20%‐30% higher than in children the same age in general and poorer rural areas.Prevalence of anemia in children did not change in rural areas,but prevalence of anemia in all age groups increased in poorer rural areas,especially in children under 24 months old.Level reached 30%‐40% in 2009,and fluctuated in 2010.Conclusion The nutritional status of children under 5 was comparatively stable during and after the global economic crisis,attributable to the Chinese government's policy response.The nutritional status in poorer rural areas fluctuated in response to the economic crisis and,thus,relevant action and intervention must be taken immediately to help the most vulnerable population in poorer rural areas.A proper national nutritional strategy for children under 2 years old,including nutrition supplementation for pregnant women and in‐home fortification for complementary feeding,should be initiated. | CHEN ChunMing HE Wu WANG YuYing DENG LiNa JIA FengMei | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,4: | 22 |
| 2 | 7YSZ coating prepared by PS-PVD based on heterogeneous nucleation显示文摘Plasma spray-physical vapor deposition(PS-PVD) as a novel coating process based on low-pressure plasma spray(LPPS) has been significantly used for thermal barrier coatings(TBCs).A coating can be deposited from liquid splats, nano-sized clusters, and the vapor phase forming different structured coatings, which shows obvious advantages in contrast to conventional technologies like atmospheric plasma spray(APS) and electron beam-physical vapor deposition(EBPVD). In addition, it can be used to produce thin, dense, and porous ceramic coatings for special applications because of its special characteristics, such as high power, very low pressure, etc. These provide new opportunities to obtain different advanced microstructures, thus to meet the growing requirements of modern functional coatings. In this work, focusing on exploiting the potential of gas-phase deposition from PS-PVD, a series of 7 YSZ coating experiments with various process conditions was performed in order to better understand the deposition process in PS-PVD, where coatings were deposited on different substrates including graphite and zirconia. Meanwhile, various substrate temperatures were investigated for the same substrate. As a result, a deposition mechanism of heterogeneous nucleation has been presented showing that surface energy is an important influencing factor for coating structures. | 4 | Reaction Mechanism and Thermal Insulation Property of Al-deposited 7YSZ Thermal Barrier Coating显示文摘To increase the performance and efficiency of thermal barrier coating(TBC), it is important to improve the thermal insulation property. In this work, a columnar Al film was deposited at the top of 7 wt% yttriastabilized zirconia(7YSZ) TBC by magnetron sputtering. A vacuum heat treatment was then carried out to improve the insulation property of Al-deposited TBC. Reaction mechanism of Al-Zr O2 system in Aldeposited TBC was studied by differential thermal analysis(DTA). The phase structures of the assprayed TBC, the Al-deposited and vacuum-treated TBC were characterized. The microstructure evolution of Al-deposited TBC was illustrated after vacuum heat treatment. And the insulation property of the assprayed TBC and treated TBC was compared. The results show that a multi-scaled layer, consisting of micron/nano structured α-Al2O3 and Al3 Zr grain was in situ synthesized at the top of 7YSZ coating via vacuum heat treatment. | 6 | Genome of a citrus rootstock and global DNA demethylation caused by heterografting显示文摘Grafting is an ancient technique used for plant propagation and improvement in horticultural crops for at least 1,500 years.Citrus plants,with a seed-to-seed cycle of 5–15 years,are among the fruit crops that were probably domesticated by grafting.Poncirus trifoliata,a widely used citrus rootstock,can promote early flowering,strengthen stress tolerance,and improve fruit quality via scion–rootstock interactions.Here,we report its genome assembly using PacBio sequencing.We obtained a final genome of 303 Mb with a contig N50 size of 1.17Mb and annotated 25,680 protein-coding genes.DNA methylome and transcriptome analyses indicated that the strong adaptability of P.trifoliata is likely attributable to its special epigenetic modification and expression pattern of resistance-related genes.Heterografting by using sweet orange as scion and P.trifoliata as rootstock and autografting using sweet orange as both scion and rootstock were performed to investigate the genetic effects of the rootstock.Single-base methylome analysis indicated that P.trifoliata as a rootstock caused DNA demethylation and a reduction in 24-nt small RNAs(sRNAs)in scions compared to the level observed with autografting,implying the involvement of sRNA-mediated graft-transmissible epigenetic modifications in citrus grafting.Taken together,the assembled genome for the citrus rootstock and the analysis of graft-induced epigenetic modifications provide global insights into the genetic effects of rootstock–scion interactions and grafting biology. | Yue Huang Yuantao Xu Xiaolin Jiang Huiwen Yu Huihui Jia Chunming Tan Gang Hu Yibo Hu Muhammad Junaid Rao Xiuxin Deng Qiang Xu | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 4 |
