| 2 | Influence of Chironomid Larvae on oxygen and nitrogen fluxes across the sediment-water interface(Lake Taihu,China)显示文摘The microscale distribution of oxygen,the nitrogen flux and the denitrification rates in sediment inhabited by chironomid larvae(Tanypus chinensis) were measured in eutrophic Lake Taihu,China.The presence of the chironomids in the sediment increased the oxygen diffusional flux from 10.4 ± 1.4 to 12.7 ± 2.5 mmol O 2 /(m 2 ·day).The burrows of the larvae represented 'hot spots' and strongly influenced the nitrogen cycles and diagenetic activity in the sediment.The results indicate that the bioturbation effects of Tanypus chinensis chironomid larvae increased the capacity of the sediment as a sink for nitrate and a source for ammonium.Nitrate influx and ammonium outflux were increased 8.8 and 1.7 times,respectively.Under bioturbation,the amount of nitrate consumed was greater than the amount of ammonium released.The total denitrification rate was also enhanced from 0.76 ± 0.34 to 5.50 ± 1.30 mmol N/(m 2 ·day).The net effect was that the bioturbated sediments acted as a net sink for inorganic nitrogen under direct and indirect bioturbation effects compared to the control. | Jingge Shang Lu Zhang Chengjun Shi Chengxin Fan | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,5: | 11 |
| 3 | Experimental Study on Anti-adjuvant Arthritis in Rats of Kadsura coccinea显示文摘[Objectives] To investigate the therapeutic effect of Kadsura coccinea on adjuvant arthritis( AA) rats and its mechanism from cytokine levels. [Methods] The complete Freund's adjuvant( CFA)-induced AA model of rats was used. The therapeutic effect of K. coccinea on AA rats was evaluated by the articular swelling,arthritis score,immune organ index and hematoxylin-eosin( HE) staining. The content of inflammatory factors TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-1β in the serum of AA rats was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay( ELISA) respectively. [Results]Compared with the model group,the total extract of K. coccinea( KCTE) could significantly inhibit the primary and secondary articular swelling of AA rats,lower the arthritis score and immune organ index,and improve the pathological state of ankles of AA rats. In the groups with a high and middle dosage of KCTE( KCTE-H and KCTE-M),KCTE could significantly reduce the content of TNF-α and IL-6 in the serum of rats,exhibiting a certain dose-effect relationship. | 4 | Differentiated super-enhancers in lung cancer cells显示文摘Super-enhancers(SEs) are regulatory elements with enriched accumulation of key transcription factors.Few studies were done investigating SEs in lung cancers.Here we analyzed epigenetic profiling data to identify SEs in lung cancer cell lines.Enhancers were classified as SEs and typical enhancers(TEs).Most of the TEs were overlapped between normal cell and cancer cells.A great portion of SEs were differentiated comparing these cells.Analysis of GO terms associated with SEs revealed SE remodeling(lost on some sites while gain on others) between normal and lung cancer cells.By comparing the average number of SEs in each GO term in cancer cells with the number in control cells,surprisingly,no GO terms with significantly increased SE number in cancer condition were observed.On the contrary,in aspects such as 'cell-cell adhesion','receptor activity' and'negative regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway',the related SEs were significantly reduced in cancer cells.These findings suggest that in lung cancer,cells may not gain decisive gene expression in the related aspect,instead,they may have lost control of the fateful genes.Taken together,our work with the usability of omics data identified SEs in lung cancer cells and further showed cancer-specific features of SE-related terms. | Xin Li Chengjun Lu Qijue Lu Chunguang Li Ji Zhu Tiejun Zhao Hezhong Chen Hai Jin | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,9: | 1 |

| 12 | Implementation System of Human Eye Tracking Algorithm Based on FPGA显示文摘With the high-speed development of transportation industry,highway traffic safety has become a considerable problem.Meanwhile,with the development of embedded system and hardware chip,in recent years,human eye detection eye tracking and positioning technology have been more and more widely used in man-machine interaction,security access control and visual detection.In this paper,the high parallelism of FPGA was utilized to realize an elliptical approximate real-time human eye tracking system,which was achieved by the series register structure and random sample consensus(RANSAC),thus improving the speed of image processing without using external memory.Because eye images acquired by the camera often generate a lot of noises due to uneven light and dark background,the preprocessing technologies such as color conversion,image filtering,histogram modification and image sharpening were adopted.In terms of feature extraction of images,the eye tracking algorithm in this paper adopted seven-section rectangular eye tracking characteristic method,which increased a section between the mouth and the nose on the basis of the traditional six-section method,so its recognition accuracy is much higher.It is convenient for the realization of hardware parallel system in FPGA.Finally,aiming at the accuracy and real-time performance of the design system,a more comprehensive simulation test was carried out.The human eye tracking system was verified on DE2-115 multimedia development platform,and the performance of VGA(resolution:640×480)images of 8-bit grayscale was tested.The results showed that the detection speed of this system was about 47 frames per second under the condition that the detection rate of human face(front face,no inclination)was 93%,which reached the real-time detection level.Additionally,the accuracy of eye tracking based on FPGA system was more than 95%,and it has achieved ideal results in real-time performance and robustness. | Zhong Liu Xin’an Wang Chengjun Sun Ken Lu | 2019 | Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,3: | 0 |
| 13 | Exploration of sea anemone-inspired high-performance biomaterials with enhanced antioxidant activity显示文摘Antioxidant biomaterials have attracted much attention in various biomedical fields because of their effective inhibition and elimination of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in pathological tissues.However,the difficulty in ensuring biocompatibility,biodegradability and bioavailability of antioxidant materials has limited their further development.Novel bioavailable antioxidant materials that are derived from natural resources are urgently needed.Here,an integrated multi-omics method was applied to fabricate antioxidant biomaterials.A key cysteine-rich thrombospondin-1 type Ⅰ repeat-like(TSRL)protein was efficiently discovered from among 1262 adhesive components and then used to create a recombinant protein with a yield of 500 mg L^(-1).The biocompatible TSRL protein was able to self-assemble into either a water-resistant coating through Ca^(2+)-mediated coordination or redox-responsive hydrogels with tunable physical properties.The TSRL-based hydrogels showed stronger 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging rates than glutathione(GSH)and ascorbic acid(Aa)and protected cells against external oxidative stress significantly more effectively.When topically applied to mice skin,TSRL alleviated epidermal hyperplasia and suppressed the degradation of collagen and elastic fibers caused by ultraviolet radiation B(UVB)irradiation,confirming that it enhanced antioxidant activity in vivo.This is the first study to successfully characterize natural antioxidant biomaterials created from marine invertebrate adhesives,and the findings indicate the excellent prospects of these biomaterials for great applications in tissue regeneration and cosmeceuticals. | Lulu Wang Xiaokang Zhang Pingping Xu Jicheng Yan Yuzhong Zhang Hainan Su Chengjun Sun Qiang Lu Weizhi Liu | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,4: | 0 |

| 15 | The biogenesis and biological roles of tRNA-derived short RNAs显示文摘In recent years, next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies targeting the microRNA (miRNA)transcriptome revealed the existence of tRNA-derived short RNAs: tRNA halves (tiRNAs) and tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs). These small RNAs represent a novel type of small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs), which are heterogeneous in size, nucleotide composition and biogenesis, and have been suggested to be involved in translation, cell proliferation, priming of viral reverse transcriptases, regulation of gene expression, modulation of the DNA damage response, tumor suppression and neurological disorders. Herein, we review the mechanism of their biogenesis and discuss in detail the regulatory roles they play in cell physiology. | 18 | 采用中国道个新辅助化疗方案治疗四肢成骨肉瘤的回顾性分析(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to determine stand protocol for patients with extremity osteosarcoma by case following up after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and limb salvage operation. Methods: Between January 2000 and January 2007, 121 patients with extremity osteosarcoma were eligible for this analysis. After being graded according to Ennek- ing classification, all patients were preoperative chemotherapy (methotrexate, cisplatin, doxorubicin, and ifosfamide. Some patients with IIB tumors received extra interventional embolism). And postoperatively, the same protocols were employed, but poor responders (tumor necrosis < 95%) received more treatment cycles than good responders and took some new medicine in place of the former one. Most of patients underwent limb salvage operation (99/121), and the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Score (MSTS) was used to evaluate the recovery of their limb functions. Results: The followed up last for average 37.3 months (range: 16–101 months). Most patients (76/121) survived, and the overall survival (OS) was 62.8%. Forty-seven of the 121 patients underwent osteoarticular allografts, among which 12 cases of disunion between the host bone and graft bone, 4 cases of allograft absorption and 3 local recurrences appeared. The mean MSTS score was 22.6 ± 4.13, with an excellent limb function in 17 patients, good in 19 patients, fair in 6 patients and poor in 7 patients. The overall excellent and good function outcome was obtained in 76.6% of the patients. Fifty-two of 121 patients underwent custom-made or modular tumor endoprosthesis replacememt, among which 1 case of aseptic loosening, 1 case of peri-prosthesis infection and 4 local recurrences appeared. The mean MSTS was 24.32 ± 3.85, with an excellent limb function in 28 patients, good in 16 patients, fair in 5 patients and poor in 3 patients. The overall excellent and good function outcome was obtained in 84.6% of the patients. Conclusion: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy and limb salvage surgery are effective methods to treat osteosarcoma at present, although some patients still dying from postoperative metastases. | 19 | Phase-only pattern synthesis based on gradient-descent optimization显示文摘By applying phase-only technique in array antenna pattern synthesis, antenna arrays can form desired patterns with the use of phase shifters only. A novel phase-only pattern synthesis algorithm is proposed for the passive phased array seeker. This algorithm synthesizes the main beam of the antenna pattern through least-squares approximation, thus minimizing the errors between the actual and the desired main beams. The synthesis problem can be solved by applying gradient-descent optimization. The item for suppressing side lobes is added to the above synthesis problem. To obtain a side lobe level as low as possible, the algorithm assigns different weights to different directions in the side lobe region. The algorithm is run repeatedly and the weights are adjusted adaptively according to the normalized power in the side lobe directions.
