| 1 | Fine mapping of the dominant glandless Gene Gl_2~e in Sea-island cotton (Gossypium barbadense L.)显示文摘Gle2 is a mutant gene that controls glandless trait in cotton plants and seeds. It is an important gene resource to gossypol-free cottonseed breeding. The objective of this research was to develop SSR markers tightly linked with Gle2 by using the F2 segregating population containing 1599 plants derived from the cross of G. hirsutum genetic standard line TM-1 and G. barbadense glandless mutant line Hai-1. Genetic analysis suggested that the Gle2 was an incomplete dominant gene. Based on the backbone of genetic linkage map from G. hirsutum × G. barbadense BC1 published by our laboratory,Gle2 was lo-cated between CIR362 and NAU2251b,NAU3860b,STV033,with a genetic distance 9.27 and 0.96 cM,respectively. | 2 | Influence of high-fluorine environmental background on crops and human health in hot spring-type fluorosis-diseased areas显示文摘Drinking water-type fluorosis is the most harmful endemic disease in China with the largest number of sufferers. Although the implementation of the policy to alter water sources to lower fluoride level has effectively controlled the spread of this kind of endemic disease,its prevalence could not thoroughly be stopped because the high-fluoride environmental background in these endemically diseased areas could still do harm to human health through food chain. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a more deep-going study on the drinking water-type fluoro-sis. To investigate the effect of high fluorine environmental background on crops and human health in the hot spring-type fluorosis-diseased areas,local water,paddy soil,rice,whole vegetables and soils around their roots were sampled for analysis. The results were compared with those of the control groups in fluorosis-free areas which are similar to the fluorosis-diseased areas both in natural background and in social background. It is indicated that rice and vegetables can accumulate water-soluble fluorine either in soils or in irrigating water,and different crops have different abilities of fixing fluorine. The contents of fluorine in different parts of vegetables in the fluorosis-diseased and fluorosis-free areas were statistically categorized. The results showed that the fluorine contents of roots,tubers,leaves and flowers of vegetables in the fluorosis-diseased areas are 3.56,1.17,3.07 and 3.23 mg/kg,respectively. However,comparisons showed that in the fluorosis-free areas,the fluorine contents are 2.17,0.70,1.91 and 2.52 mg/kg,respectively. Moreover,different parts of a crop also show significantly different fluorine fixation abilities. It is demonstrated that the fluorine contents of the strongly metabolic parts are relatively high. For example,the fluo-rine contents of roots,leaves and flowers of vegetables are much higher than those of stems. The fluorine fixation ability of seeds is very weak. In order to reduce the risk of human body’s exposure to fluoride,the impact of hot spring water on the capability of crops to fix fluorine should be reduced as much as possible. | 9 | Molecular analysis of rice plants harboring a multi-functional T-DNA tagging system显示文摘About 25,000 rice T-DNA insertional mutant lines were generated using the vector pCAS04 which has both promoter-trapping and activation-tagging function. Southern blot analysis revealed that about 40% of these mutants were single copy integration and the average T-DNA insertion number was 2.28. By extensive phenotyping in the field, quite a number of agronomically important mutants were obtained. Histochemical GUS assay with 4,310 primary mutants revealed that the GUS-staining frequency was higher than that of the previous reports in various tissues and especially high in flowers. The T-DNA flanking sequences of some mutants were isolated and the T-DNA insertion sites were mapped to the rice genome. The flanking sequence analysis demonstrated the different integration pattern of the right border and left border into rice genome. | 12 | Simulation Performance Evaluation and Uncertainty Analysis on a Coupled Inundation Model Combining SWMM and WCA2D显示文摘Urban floods are becoming increasingly more frequent,which has led to tremendous economic losses.The application of inundation modeling to predict and simulate urban flooding is an effective approach for disaster prevention and risk reduction,while also addressing the uncertainty problem in the model is always a challenging task.In this study,a cellular automaton(CA)-based model combining a storm water management model(SWMM)and a weighted cellular automata 2D inundation model was applied and a physical-based model(LISFLOOD-FP)was also coupled with SWMM for comparison.The simulation performance and the uncertainty factors of the coupled model were systematically discussed.The results show that the CA-based model can achieve sufficient accuracy and higher computational efficiency than can a physical-based model.The resolution of terrain and rainstorm data had a strong influence on the performance of the CA-based model,and the simulations would be less creditable when using the input data with a terrain resolution lower than 15 m and a recorded interval of rainfall greater than 30 min.The roughness value and model type showed limited impacts on the change of inundation depth and occurrence of the peak inundation area.Generally,the CA-based coupled model demonstrated laudable applicability and can be recommended for fast simulation of urban flood episodes.This study also can provide references and implications for reducing uncertainty when constructing a CA-based coupled model. | Zhaoyang Zeng Zhaoli Wang Chengguang Lai | 2022 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2022,13,3: | 2 |
