3A New Indicator for Global Food Security Assessment: Harvested Area Rather Than Cropland Area显示文摘Cropland area has long been used as a key indicator of food security.However,grain yield is not solely controlled by the area of the cropland.Therefore,we proposed a new indicator to assess food security.Results show that from 1992 to 2004,the global cropland area increased by 840200 km^(2)(99.4%),but the grain yield increased only by 310 million t(29.1%);and from 2004 to 2015,the cropland area decreased by 39000 km^(2)(4.64%),but the grain yield increased by 370 million t(70.84%).This result showed that grain yield was not linearly correlated with cropland area,and delimiting the threshold of cropland protection may not guarantee food security.Combined with further correlation analysis,we found that the increase in the global grain yield was more closely related to the harvested area(R^(2)=0.94),which indicated that the harvested area is a more scientific and accurate indicator than cropland area in terms of guaranteeing food security.Therefore,if governments want to ensure the food security,they should choose a new and more accurate indicator:harvested area rather than cropland area.SONG Fengjiao WANG Shijie BAI Xiaoyong WU Luhua WANG Jinfeng LI Chaojun CHEN Huan LUO Xuling XI Huipeng ZHANG Sirui LUO Guofeng YAN Mengqi ZHEN Qingqing 2022Chinese Geographical Science2022,32,2:2
4Ultralarge Rabi splitting and broadband strong coupling in a spherical hyperbolic metamaterial cavity显示文摘Strong coupling(SC) between two resonant plasmon modes can result in the formation of new hybrid modes exhibiting Rabi splitting with strong energy exchange at the nanoscale. However, normal Rabi splitting is often limited to ~50–320 me V due to the short lifetime of the plasmon mode. Here, we theoretically demonstrate a record Rabi splitting energy as large as 805 me V arising from the SC between the high-Q plasmonic whispering gallery mode and high-Q cavity plasmon resonance supported by a spherical hyperbolic metamaterial cavity,which consists of a dielectric nanosphere core wrapped in 7 alternating layers of silver/dielectric materials.In addition, the new hybrid modes formed by the SC are shown to exhibit an extralong lifetime of up to 71.9–81.6 fs, with the large electric field intensity enhancement at both the dielectric core and the dielectric layers. More importantly, the spectral ranges of SC can be tuned across an ultrabroad range from the visible to the near-IR by simply changing the dielectric core size. 8Analysis of the Relationship between Soil pH and Clubroo of Mustard显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to study the severity of mustard clubtoot under different pH conditions and to clear the relationship between pH and mustard clubroot.[Method] Totally 288 soil samples were collected from the infected patches of clubroot in Fuling District,Chongqing City,and their pH were measured.Meanwhile,the germination rate of resting spores,the incidence rate of clubroot and vegetative growth of mustard was measured under different pH conditions,to figure out the relationship between pH and mustard clubroot.[Result] The pH of 288 pathogenic soil samples distributed from 4.0 to 7.0.The germination rates of resting spores were higher than 50% when the pH was 5.0-6.5,and the germination rates were low when the pH was 3.0,4.0,8.0,8.5,9.0 and 10.0.Greenhouse pot test showed that the incidence rate of mustard clubroot in acidic environment was higher than that in alkaline environment.The incidence of mustard clubroot was severe when the pH was 4.5-6.5; the incidence was the severest at the pH of 6.0,and the disease index reached 84.22; mustard was not attacked by clubroot at the pH of 8.0.Measurement results of various growth indicators of mustard under different pH conditions demonstrated that mustard had better growth at the pH of 5.0-7.5,and the growth was the best at the pH of 6.5,while the growth was suppressed at the pH of 4.0 and 8.0.[Conclusion]Clubroot of mustard is likely to happen under weak acidic condition.The suitable pH for the vegetative growth of mustard is 5.0-7.5.Jiang Huan Peng Yumei Dong Daiwen Yan Yufang Wu Chaojun Liu Qin 2017Plant Diseases and Pests2017,8,6:0
9The expression and function of miR-376a-3p/DLX axis in gastric cancer cells显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)was referred to a malignant tumor of the digestive tract originating from the epithelium of gastric mucosa.Transcription factor DLX5 was verified as an oncogene in various types of tumors,while miR-376a-3p was speculated as a tumor suppressor.Based on the bioinformatics database,we hypothesized that miR-376a participated in the regulation of GC development by targeting DLX5.Compared with adjacent tissue,a significant increase of DLX5 expression was determined in GC tissues,but the expression level is significantly reduced in miR-376a.Similar expression signature of DLX5 and miR-376a was also determined between 4 GC cells(HGC,SGC,MGC,and AGS cell lines)and GES cell line.The level of DLX5 was notably reduced in HGC and MGC cell lines after miR-376a-3p overexpression,and increased after miR-376a-3p inhibition.Then,the inhibition role of miR-376a-3p on DLX5 was further proved by dualluciferase reporter assay.Gain-of-function experiments showed that upregulation of miR-376a-3p in GC cells could inhibit the ability of epithelial-mesenchymal transition,proliferation,and invasion,and enhance the GC cell apoptosis level.However,these roles of miR-376a-3p could be abolished by DLX5 overexpression.This study confirmed that reduction of miR-376a-3p expression level in GC cells would lead to the increase in cell growth and invasion,indicating that upregulation of miR-376a-3p might have a potential therapeutic role on GC.YAN ZHANG CHAOJUN ZHANG ZHEN CAO ZHANWEI ZHAO LIN CHEN 2022BIOCELL2022,46,9:0
