1The Change of the Inlet Geometry of a Centrifugal Compressor Stage and its Influence on the Compressor Performance显示文摘The impact on the compressor performance is important for designing the inlet pipe of the centrifugal compressor of a vehicle turbocharger with different inlet pipes. First, an experiment was performed to determine the compressor performance from three cases: a straight inlet pipe, a long bent inlet pipe and a short bent inlet pipe. Next, dynamic sensors were installed in key positions to collect the sign of the unsteady pressure of the centrifugal compressor. Combined with the results of numerical simulations, the total pressure distortion in the pipes, the pressure distributions on the blades and the pressure variability in the diffuser are studied in detail. The results can be summarized as follows: a bent pipe results in an inlet distortion to the compressor, which leads to performance degradation, and the effect is more apparent as the mass flow rate increases. The distortion induced by the bent inlet is not only influenced by the distance between the outlet of the bent section and the leading edge of the impeller but also by the impeller rotation. The flow fields in the centrifugal impeller and the diffuser are influenced by a coupling effect produced by the upstream inlet distortion and the downstream blocking effect from the volute tongue. 2Fabrication of PVDF nanofibrous hydrophobic composite membranes reinforced with fabric substrates via electrospinning for membrane distillation desalination显示文摘To improve the mechanical properties of the electrospun nanofibrous membrane, the nonwoven fabrics and spacer fabrics were employed as support substrates to fabricate polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) nanofibrous composite membranes. The influences of the substrate on membrane morphology, hydrophobicity, pore size and pore size distribution,porosity, mechanical strength and permeability were comprehensive evaluated. The electrospun composite membranes had a three dimension bead-fiber interconnected open structure and a rough membrane surface. The membrane surface presented a multilevel re-entrant structure and all the water contact angles were above 140°. In contrast with the pure PVDF nanofibrous membrane, the stress at break and the elastic modulus of the composite membranes increased by 4.5–16 times and 17.5–37 times, respectively. Since the spacer fabrics had less resistance to mass transfer, the membranes composited with spacer fabrics exhibited greater permeate fluxes compared with the composite membranes with the nonwoven fabrics as substrates.During the membrane distillation test, the highest permeate flux was up to 49.3 kg/m^2/hr at the feed temperature of 80°C. 8Decohesion of graphene from a uniaxially-stretched substrate:Failure analysis of a frictional adhesive interface显示文摘Composite structures consisting of two-dimensional(2D)materials deposited on elastic substrates have a wide range of potential applications in flexible electronics.For such devices,robust 2D film/substrate interfacial adhesion is essential for their reliable performance when subjected to external thermal and mechanical loads.To better understand the strength and failure behavior of the 2D film/substrate interfaces,two types of graphene/polymer samples with distinct interfacial adhesion properties are fabricated and tested by uniaxially stretching the substrates.Depending on the interfacial adhesion,two drastically different debonding rates are observed,i.e.,rapid snap-through debonding and more progressive crack propagation.Motivated by the experimental observation,we propose an improved shear-lag model with a trapezoidal-shaped cohesive zone to derive an analytical solution for the decohesion behavior.The theoretical model reveals that the decohesion behavior of the frictional adhesive interface is governed by three dimensionless parameters.Particularly,the dimensionless length of the film essentially determines the decohesion rate;while the other two parameters affect the critical substrate strain to initiate debonding.By fitting the experimental data with the theoretical model,the intrinsic adhesion properties of the two samples are obtained with physically meaningful values.This work offers an analytical solution to describing the decohesion behavior of general thin film/substrate systems with a frictional adhesive interface,which is beneficial for characterizing and optimizing the mechanical properties of various thin film/polymer devices.Bo PENG Chaochen XU Qingao WANG Pei ZHAO Xiqiao FENG Qunyang LI 2024Friction2024,12,3:0
9New insights into effects of Kaixin Powder on depression via lipid metabolism related adiponectin signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:To clarify the anti-depressive potential mechanisms of Kaixin Powder(KP),a drug that helps to prevent and treat depression and other mentaldiseases,from genome-wide transcriptome profiling.Methods:Transcriptome and KEGG pathway analysis were conducted on the hippocampus of depressed rats,then the differentially expressed genes were validated and serum concentration of lipid parameters were identified by enzymatic assays.Furthermore,high-fat diets induced depression-like behaviors in Syrian golden hamsters were conducted to verify the predicted molecular mechanisms acquired from the transcriptome analysis.Results:Transcriptome results revealed that the 24 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in chronic mild stress(CMS)rats could be reversed after two weeks of KP treatment.The mechanisms of KP in treating depression firstly involved the regulation of several pathology modules,including lipid metabolism,synapse function and inflammation.KP could regulate imbalances of lipid homeostasis in high-fat diet induced depressive symptoms.Furthermore,it was validated that cholesterol metabolism dysfunction can be ameliorated by KP,which was correlated with upregulation of the AdipoR1-BDNF(brainderived neurotrophic factor)co-regulatory pathway.Conclusion:Taken together,our results demonstrated that KP not only alleviates depression via traditional mental illness targets,but it may also simulates the cholesterol metabolism and adiponectin signaling with multi-target characteristics.Wenshan Yang Hong Yin Yichen Wang Yuanbo Wang Xia Li Chaochen Wang Ping Liu Yuan Hu 2023Chinese Herbal Medicines2023,15,2:0
10Metabolic profiles and morphological characteristics of leaf tips among different sweet potato(Ipomoea batatas Lam.)varieties显示文摘Sweet potato leaf tips have high nutritional value,and exploring the differences in the metabolic profiles of leaf tips among different sweet potato varieties can provide information to improve their qualities.In this study,a UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap/MS-based untargeted metabolomics method was used to evaluate the metabolites in leaf tips of 32 sweet potato varieties.Three varieties with distinct overall metabolic profiles(A01,A02,and A03),two varieties with distinct profiles of phenolic acids(A20 and A18),and three varieties with distinct profiles of flavonoids(A05,A12,and A16)were identified.In addition,a total of 163 and 29 differentially expressed metabolites correlated with the color and leaf shape of sweet potato leaf tips,respectively,were identified through morphological characterization.Group comparison analysis of the phenotypic traits and a metabolite-phenotypic trait correlation analysis indicated that the color differences of sweet potato leaf tips were markedly associated with flavonoids.Also,the level of polyphenols was correlated with the leaf shape of sweet potato leaf tips,with lobed leaf types having higher levels of polyphenols than the entire leaf types.The findings on the metabolic profiles and differentially expressed metabolites associated with the morphology of sweet potato leaf tips can provide useful information for breeding sweet potato varieties with higher nutritional value.Wenqing Tan Xinbo Guo Zhangying Wang Rong Zhang Chaochen Tang Bingzhi Jiang Ruixue Jia Yuanyuan Deng Shaohai Yang Jingyi Chen 2024Journal of Integrative Agriculture2024,23,2:0
