| 1 | The Reference Genome of Tea Plant and Resequencing of 81 Diverse Accessions Provide Insights into Its Genome Evolution and Adaptation显示文摘Tea plant is an important economic crop,which is used to produce the world's oldest and most widely consumed tea beverages.Here,we present a high-quality reference genome assembly of the tea plant(Camellia sinensis var.sinensis)consisting of 15 pseudo-chromosomes.LTR retrotransposons(LTR-RTs)account for 70.38%of the genome,and we present evidence that LTR-RTS play critical roles in genome size expansion and the transcriptional diversification of tea plant genes through preferential insertion in promoter regions and introns.Genes,particularly those coding for terpene biosynthesis pro-teins,associated with tea aroma and stress resistance were significantly amplified through recent tandem duplications and exist as gene clusters in tea plant genome.Phylogenetic analysis of the sequences of 81 tea plant accessions with diverse origins revealed three well-differentiated tea plant populations,support-ing the proposition for the southwest origin of the Chinese cultivated tea plant and its later spread to western Asia through introduction.Domestication and modern breeding left significant signatures on hundreds of genes in the tea plant genome,particularly those associated with tea quality and stress resis-tance.The genomic sequences of the reported reference and resequenced tea plant accessions provide valuable resources for future functional genomics study and molecular breeding of improved cul-tivars of tea plants. | Enhua Xia Wei Tong Yan Hou Yanlin An Linbo Chen Qiong Wu Yunlong Liu Jie Yu Fangdong Li Ruopei Li Penghui Li Huijuan Zhao Ruoheng Ge Jin Huang Ali Inayat Mallano Yanrui Zhang Shengrui Liu Weiwei Deng Chuankui Song Zhaoliang Zhang Jian Zhao Shu Wei Zhengzhu Zhang Tao Xia Chaoling Wei Xiaochun Wan | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,7: | 51 |
| 2 | Spatio-temporal variations of the bacterioplankton community composition in Chaohu Lake, China显示文摘Despite considerable attention paid to Chaohu Lake in China, the dynamics of bacterioplankton community composition (BCC) on spatial and seasonal scales are poorly understood.In this study, water samples were collected from autumn 2006 to summer 2007 at five positions in Chaohu Lake with difierent trophic status.BCC of these samples was determined by both the PCR amplification of the 16S rDNA gene and the denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE).The abundance and diversity of bacterioplankton communities at difierent sampling positions showed similar seasonal patterns.The BCCs in the samples varied substantially, and the pattern of changes indicated that the seasonal difierence might have a significant impact on the BCC's structure in the lake.Canonical correspondence anal-ysis (CCA) on the DGGE patterns and physicochemical parameters indicated that the temperature and the levels of 5-d biochemical O2 demand (BOD5), NH3-N, CODMn, total nitrogen, total phosphorous, and dissolved oxygen significantly infiuenced the BCC, and four of the seven variables were related to the level of eutrophication.Our results indicate that eutrophic status and season are the most infiu-ential factors in determining BCC in Chaohu Lake. | Chaoling Wei Sumin Bao Xinyan Zhu Xiangming Huang | 2008 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2008,18,9: | 9 |
| 3 | A Data Assured Deletion Scheme in Cloud Storage显示文摘In order to provide a practicable solution to data confidentiality in cloud storage service,a data assured deletion scheme,which achieves the fine grained access control,hopping and sniffing attacks resistance,data dynamics and deduplication,is proposed.In our scheme,data blocks are encrypted by a two-level encryption approach,in which the control keys are generated from a key derivation tree,encrypted by an All-OrNothing algorithm and then distributed into DHT network after being partitioned by secret sharing.This guarantees that only authorized users can recover the control keys and then decrypt the outsourced data in an ownerspecified data lifetime.Besides confidentiality,data dynamics and deduplication are also achieved separately by adjustment of key derivation tree and convergent encryption.The analysis and experimental results show that our scheme can satisfy its security goal and perform the assured deletion with low cost. | LI Chaoling CHEN Yue ZHOU Yanzhou | 2014 | China Communications2014,11,4: | 7 |

| 6 | Eff ect of polystyrene microplastics and temperature on growth,intestinal histology and immune responses of brine shrimp Artemia franciscana显示文摘Microplastics pollution and seawater temperature rise have been the major environmental issues,threatening the survival and biodiversity of marine organisms.This study evaluated the combined effect of temperature and polystyrene microplastics(MP)on Artemia,a filter-feeding crustacean that is widely used for environmental toxicology studies.Brine shrimp Artemia franciscana were exposed to three MP concentrations(0,0.2,and 2.0 mg/L)and three temperatures(22,26,and 30℃)for 14 d.In general,higher MP concentration and temperature led to a decreased survival rate and growth.Two-way ANOVA analysis indicated that the survival rate of Artemia was significantly impacted by both MP concentration and temperature(P<0.05),but there was no significant interaction between two factors(P>0.05).Growth of Artemia was significantly impacted by temperature(P<0.05),and with a significant interaction between two factors(P<0.05).Furthermore,the enzymatic activity,intestinal histological analyses,and immune gene expression were determined for Artemia reared at 30℃ with three MP concentrations(0,0.2,and 2.0 mg/L).The results showed that 2.0-mg/L MP resulted in reduced Artemia intestinal microvilli and exfoliated epithelia cells,significantly increased acid phosphatase(ACP)activity(P<0.05)and immunerelated gene ADRA1 B and CREB3 expression,revealing that higher MP concentration could induce oxidative and immunological stress on Artemia at 30℃.Overall,our study suggests that MP and temperature have combined adverse effect on Artemia,especially at relatively high temperature and polystyrene MP concentration.These findings are important to understand the potential ecological risks posed by these two factors on the organisms in marine environment. | Xuekai HAN Yuyu ZHENG Chaoling DAI Hu DUAN Meirong GAO Md Rayhan ALI Liying SUI | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,3: | 2 |
| 7 | Improved image resolution on thoracic carcinomas by quantitative 18F-FDG coincidence SPECT/CT in comparison to 18F-FDG PET/CT显示文摘Currently,18F-FDG coincidence SPECT(Co-SPECT)/CT scan still serves as an important tool for diagnosis,staging,and evaluation of cancer treatment in developing countries.We implemented full physical corrections(FPC) to Co-SPECT(quantitative Co-SPECT) to improve the image resolution and contrast along with the capability for image quantitation.FPC included attenuation,scatter,resolution recovery,and noise reduction.A standard NEMA phantom filled with 10:1 F-18 activity concentration ratio in spheres and background was utilized to evaluate image performance.Subsequently,15 patients with histologically confirmed thoracic carcinomas were included to undergo a 18 F-FDG Co-SPECT/CT scan followed by a 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan.Functional parameters as SUVmax,SUVmean,SULpeak,and MTV from both quantitative Co-SPECT and PET were analyzed.Image resolution of Co-SPECT for NEMA phantom was improved to reveal the smallest sphere from a diameter of 28 mm to 22 mm(17 mm for PET).The image contrast was enhanced from 1.7 to 6.32(6.69 for PET) with slightly degraded uniformity in background(3.1% vs.6.7%)(5.6% for PET).Patients’ SUVmax,SUVmean,SULpeak,and MTV measured from quantitative Co-SPECT were overall highly correlated with those from PET(r=0.82-0.88).Adjustment of the threshold of SUVmax and SUV to determine SUVmean and MTV did not further change the correlations with PET(r=0.81-0.88).Adding full physical corrections to Co-SPECT images can significantly improve image resolution and contrast to reveal smaller tumor lesions along with the capability to quantify functional parameters like PET/CT. | Yuming Zheng Chaoling Jin Huijuan Cui Haojie Dai Jue Yan Pingping Han Bailing Hsu | 2020 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2020,34,4: | 2 |
| 8 | Duplication and transcriptional divergence of three Kunitz protease inhibitor genes that modulate insect and pathogen defenses in tea plant(Camellia sinensis)显示文摘Kunitz protease inhibitors(KPIs)are ubiquitous in plants and act as crucial compounds in defense responses against insect attack and pathogen infection.However,the influence of gene duplication on the postdivergence of the CsKPI genes involved in biotic stresses in tea plant is not well known.Here,we identified three CsKPI genes from tea plant(Camellia sinensis)and characterized their expression and evolutionary patterns among plant species.We found that CsKPI1,CsKPI2,and CsKPI3 diverged from their common ancestor 72.94 million years ago(MYA),and the tandem duplication of CsKPI2 and CsKPI3 occurred 26.78 MYA.An in vitro protein assay showed that the three CsKPI proteins were functional and inhibited the production of p-nitroanilide(PNA)from an artificial substrate.The three CsKPI-GFP fusion proteins localized to the cytoplasm.We showed that salicylic acid(SA)and transcripts of CsKPI2 and CsKPI3 significantly accumulated after infection with Glomerella cingulata.The application of exogenous SA stimulated the high expression of both CsKPI2 and CsKPI3 by activating cis-elements within their promoters.Under Ectropis oblique attack,CsKPI1 expression and jasmonic acid(JA)levels were more abundant in both insect-damaged leaf tissues and undamaged neighboring leaves.The application of jasmonic acid methyl ester elicited high expression levels of CsKPI1,suggesting that CsKPI1 accumulation requires JA production in tea plant.The overall findings suggest that the transcriptional divergence of KPI genes after duplication led to the specialized role of CsKPI1 in the physiological response to insect stress;the functional conservation between CsKPI2 and CsKPI3 confers resistance to pathogen infection in tea plant. | Junyan Zhu Yaxian He Xiaomei Yan Lu Liu Rui Guo Xiaobo Xia Daojie Cheng Xiaozeng Mi Lidiia Samarina Shenrui Liu Enhua Xia Chaoling Wei | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 2 |
