1Benign liver tumors in pediatric patients-Review with emphasis on imaging features显示文摘Benign hepatic tumors are commonly observed in adults,but rarely reported in children.The reasons for this remain speculative and the exact data concerning the incidence of these lesions are lacking.Benign hepatic tumors represent a diverse group of epithelial and mesenchymal tumors.In pediatric patients,most benign focal liver lesions are inborn and may grow like the rest of the body.Knowledge of pediatric liver diseases and their imaging appearances is essential in order to make an appropriate differential diagnosis.Selection of the appropriate imaging test is challenging,since it depends on a number of age-related factors.This paper will discuss the most frequently encountered benign liver tumors in children(infantile hepatic hemangioendothelioma,mesenchymal hamartoma,focal nodular hyperplasia,nodular regenerative hyperplasia,and hepatocellular adenoma),as well as a comparison to the current knowledge regarding such tumors in adult patients.The current emphasis is on imaging features,which are helpful not only for the initial diagnosis,but also for pre- and posttreatment evaluation and follow-up.In addition,future perspectives of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in pediatric patients are highlighted,with descriptions of enhancement patterns for each lesion being discussed.The role of advanced imaging tests such as CEUS and magnetic resonance imaging,which allow for non-invasive assessment of liver tumors,is of utmost importance in pediatric patients,especially when repeated imaging tests are needed and radiation exposure should be avoided.Liliana Chiorean Xin-Wu Cui Andrea Tannapfel Doris Franke Martin Stenzel Wojciech Kosiak Dagmar Schreiber-Dietrich J?rg Jüngert Jian-Min Chang Christoph F Dietrich 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,28:16

4The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 7Report on Childhood Obesity in China(8):Effects and Sustainability of Physical Activity Intervention on Body Composition of Chinese Youth显示文摘Objectives To determine whether a large-scale physical activity intervention could affect body composition in primary school students in Beijing,China.Methods The study design was one-year cluster randomized controlled trial of physical activity intervention(20 min of daily exercise in the classroom) with an additional year of follow-up among 4 700 students aged 8-11 years at baseline.Results After the one-year intervention,BMI increased by 0.56 kg/m^2(SD 1.15) in the intervention group and by 0.72 kg/m^2(SD 1.20) in the control group,with a mean difference of-0.15 kg/m^2(95%CI:-0.28 to-0.02).BMI z score decreased by-0.05(SD 0.44) in the intervention group,but increased by 0.01(SD 0.46) in the control group,with a mean difference of-0.07(-0.13 to-0.01).After another year of follow up,compared to the control group,children in the intervention group had significantly lower BMI(-0.13,-0.25 to-0.01),BMI z score(-0.05,-0.10 to-0.01),fat mass(-0.27 kg,-0.53 to-0.02) and percent body fat(-0.53,-1.00 to-0.05).The intervention had a more pronounced effect on weight,height,BMI,BMI z score,and body composition among obese children than among normal weight or overweight children.Compared to the control group,the intervention group had a significantly higher percentage of children who maintained or reduced their BMI z score at year 1(P=0.008) and year 2(P=0.04).Conclusions These findings suggest that 20 min of daily moderate to vigorous physical activity during the school year is a feasible and effective way to prevent excessive gain of body weight,BMI,and body fatness in primary school students.YAN-PING LI XIAO=QI HU EVERT G. 8Distribution of pericellular matrix molecules in the temporomandibular joint and their chondroprotective effects against inflammation显示文摘The objectives of this study were to(1) determine the distribution and synthesis of pericellular matrix(PCM) molecules(collagen VI, collagen IV and laminin) in rat temporomandibular joint(TMJ) and(2) investigate the effects of PCM molecules on chondrocytes against inflammation in osteoarthritis. Four zones(fibrous, proliferating, mature and hypertrophic) of condylar cartilage and three bands(anterior, intermediate and posterior) of disc were analysed by immunohistochemistry for the presence of PCM molecules in rat TMJs. Isolated chondrocytes were pre-treated with PCM molecules before being subjected to interleukin(IL)-1β treatment to stimulate inflammation. The responses of the chondrocytes were analysed using gene expression, nitric oxide release and matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-13 production measures. Histomorphometric analyses revealed that the highest areal deposition of collagen VI(67.4%), collagen IV(45.7%) and laminin(52.4%) was in the proliferating zone of TMJ condylar cartilage. No significant difference in the distribution of PCM molecules was noted among the three bands of the TMJ disc. All three PCM molecules were expressed intracellularly by chondrocytes cultured in the monolayer. Among the PCM molecules, pre-treatment with collagen VI enhanced cellular proliferation, ameliorated IL-1β-induced MMP-3, MMP-9, MMP-13 and inducible nitric oxide synthase gene expression, and attenuated the downregulation of cartilage matrix genes, including collagen I, aggrecan and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP). Concurrently, collagen VI pretreatment inhibited nitric oxide and MMP-13 production. 13Integration of the metabolome and transcriptome reveals the metabolites and genes related to nutritional and medicinal value in Coriandrum sativum显示文摘Coriandrum sativum(Coriander) or Chinese parsley is a culinary herb with multiple medicinal effects, which is widely used in cooking and traditional medicine. It is enriched with essential oils and anti-oxidant compounds with unknown significance. To explore the untapped reservoir of Coriander, we studied the transcriptome and metabolic profiles from three developmental stages. Here, we identified 10 tyrosine metabolic pathway-related genes(TMPRGs), six porphyrins and chlorophyll metabolic pathway-related genes(PCMPRGs), and five Vitamin E metabolic pathway-related genes(VEMPRGs). These genes were associated with the early development of Coriander. Our analysis suggests that these pathways are involved in the production of critical phenolic metabolites. Furthermore, we constructed the interaction network between these pathway-related genes and transcription factors(TFs), which supported the regulatory pathways for phenolic metabolites. Interestingly, we identified several nutritional or medicinally relevant metabolites, including 59 phenols, two polyamines, 12 alkaloids, and one terpenoid. The higher concentrations of metabolites were from caffeic acid, agmatine, and its derivatives. We found higher levels of caffeic acid and agmatine at 30 days compared to 60 or 90 days.
