Photonic matrix multiplication lights up photonicaccelerator and beyond显示文摘Matrix computation,as a fundamental building block of information processing in science and technology, contributes most of the computational overheads in modern signal processing and artificial intelligence algorithms.Photonic accelerators are designed to accelerate specific categories of computing in the optical domain, especially matrix multiplication,to address the growing demand for computing resources and capacity.Photonic matrix multiplication has much potential to expand the domain of telecommunication, and artificial intelligence benefiting from its superior performance.Recent research in photonic matrix multiplication has flourished and may provide opportunities to develop applications that are unachievable at present by conventional electronic processors. In this review,we first introduce the methods of photonic matrix multiplication, mainly including the plane light conversion method,Mach–Zehnder interferometer method and wavelength division multiplexing method. We also summarize the developmental milestones of photonic matrix multiplication and the related applications. Then,we review their detailed advances in applications to optical signal processing and artificial neural networks in recent years. Finally,we comment on the challenges and perspectives of photonic matrix multiplication and photonic acceleration. | Hailong Zhou Jianji Dong Junwei Cheng Wenchan Dong Chaoran Huang Yichen Shen Qiming Zhang Min Gu Chao Qian Hongsheng Chen Zhichao Ruan Xinliang Zhang | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,2: | 4
Analysis of oral microorganism diversity in healthy individuals before and after chewing areca nuts using PCR-denatured gradient gel electrophoresis显示文摘To analyze oral microbial diversity in the saliva of 8 healthy individuals before and after chewing areca nuts. Saliva samples were collected before chewing areca nuts, after chewing areca nuts for 5 min and after chewing areca nuts for 30 min. DNA was extracted, and microbial diversity was examined using PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(PCR-DGGE). When examining DGGE profiles collectively, the bands associated with Streptococcus and Veillonella were the most intense, making them the most prevalent bacteria. Furthermore, the band intensities did not decrease after chewing areca nuts for 5 or30 min; thus, these bacteria were unaffected. However, when examining some individuals, the band intensities for Streptococcus and Veillonella became more intense after 5 min of chewing and then returned to the pre-chewing level. This difference may be attributed to the mechanical movements of the oral cavity or individual differences. Other bacteria, such as Neisseria, Actinomycetes, and Rothia dentocariosa, were also found to have an increased or decreased prevalence following areca nut-chewing.Since the predominant species that are present following areca nut-chewing include Streptococcus and Veillonella, it would seem likely that these bacteria play an important role in the periodontal diseases associated with areca chewing. | Xiong Xiong Aixiang Hou Shuhan Yi Yichen Guo Ziwei Zhao Zhongkun Wu Huan Cheng Ke Li Zongjun Li Youhua Ren Yuanliang Wang | 2018 | Animal Nutrition2018,,3: | 2
QTL-Seq Identified a Major QTL for Grain Length and Weight in Rice Using Near Isogenic F_2 Population显示文摘Mapping and isolation of quantitative trait loci(QTLs)or genes controlling grain size or weight is very important to uncover the molecular mechanisms of seed development and crop breeding. To identify the QTLs controlling grain size and weight,we developed a near isogenic line F_2(NIL-F_2)population,which was derived from a residual heterozygous plant in an F_7 generation of recombinant inbred line(RIL).With the completion of more than 30×whole genome re-sequencing of the parents, two DNA bulks for large and small grains,a total of 58.94 Gb clean nucleotide data were generated.A total of455 262 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)between the parents were identified to perform bulked QTL-seq.A candidate genomic region containing SNPs strongly associated with grain length and weight was identified from 15 to 20 Mb on chromosome 5.We designated the major QTL in the candidate region as q TGW5.3.Then,q TGW5.3 was further validated with PCR-based conventional QTL mapping method through developing simple sequence repeat and Insertion/Deletion markers in the F_2 population.Furthermore, recombinants and the progeny tests delimited the candidate region of q TGW5.3 to 1.13 Mb,flanked by HX5009(15.15 Mb)and HX5003(16.28 Mb).A set of NILs,selected from the F_2 population, was developed to evaluate the genetic effect of q TGW5.3.Significant QTL effects were detected on grain length, grain width and 1000-grain weight of H12-29 allele with 1.14 mm,-0.11 mm and 3.11 g,which explained 99.64%,95.51%and 97.32%of the phenotypic variations, respectively. | QIN Yaobin CHENG Peng CHENG Yichen FENG Yue HUANG Derun HUANG Tingxu SONG Xianjun YING Jiezheng | 2018 | Rice science2018,25,3: | 2
Investigation of Nb Ox-based volatile switching device with self-rectifying characteristics显示文摘Dear editor,Resistive random access memory(RRAM),one of the most promising emerging non-volatile memory technologies, has been extensively investigated by researchers from both academia and industry due to its fast speed and excellent scalability for storage class memory(SCM)[1-3].To achieve large-scale integration in an RRAM array, each cell needs to contain a nonlinear device to eliminate the sneak path which may lead to false program and read-margin narrowing[2,3].Usually,transistors or selectors are serially connected to RRAM cells to act as the selective elements. | Yichen FANG Zongwei WANG Caidie CHENG Zhizhen YU Teng ZHANG Yuchao YANG Yimao CAI Ru HUANG | 2019 | Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,12: | 2
SLC1A1-mediated cellular and mitochondrial influx of R-2-hydroxyglutarate in vascular endothelial cells promotes tumor angiogenesis in IDH1-mutant solid tumors显示文摘Muta nt isocitrate dehydrog en ase 1(mlDH1)drives tumorigenesis via produci ng on cometabolite R-2-hydroxyglutarate(R-2-HG)across various tumor types. However,mlDHl in hibitors appear only effective in hematological tumors. The therapeutic ben efit in solid tumors remains elusive, likely due to the complex tumor microenvironment. In this study,we discover that R-2-HG produced by IDH1-mutant tumor cells is preferentially imported into vascular endothelial cells and remodels mitochondrial respiration to promote tumor angiogenesis, conferring a therapeutic vulnerability in IDH1-mutant solid tumors.Mechanistically,SLC1 Alz a Na'-depe ndent glutamate tran sporter that is prefere ntially expressed in en dothelial cells, facilitates the in flux of R-2-HG from the tumor microenvironment into the endothelial cells as well as the intracellular trafficking of R-2-HG from cytoplasm to mitochondria.R-2-HG hijacks SLC1A1 to promote mitochondrial Na^(+)/Ca^(2+)exchange,which activates the mitochondrial respiratory chain and fuels vascular en dothelial cell migratio n in tumor an giogenesis.SLC1A1 deficiency in mice abolishes mlDHl-promoted tumor an giogenesis as well as the therapeutic benefit of mlDHl in hibitor in solid tumors. Moreover,we report that HH2301,a newly discovered mlDHl inhibitor, shows promising efficacy in treating IDH1-mutant cholangiocarcinoma in preclinical models.Together,we identify a new role of SLC1A1 as a gatekeeper of R-2-HG-mediated crosstalk between IDH1-mutant tumor cells and vascular en dothelial cells, and dem on strate the therapeutic potential of mlDHl in hibitors in treating IDH1-muta nt solid tumors via disrupting R-2-HG-promoted tumor angiogenesis. | Xiaomin Wang Ziqi Chen Jun Xu Shuai Tang Nan An Lei Jiang Yixiang Zhang Shaoying Zhang Qingli Zhang Yanyan Shen Shijie Chen Xiaojing Lan Ting Wang Linhui Zhai Siyuwei Cao Siqi Guo Yingluo Liu Aiwei Bi Yuehong Chen Xiameng Gai Yichen Duan Ying Zheng Yixian Fu Yize Li Liang Yuan Linjiang Tong Kun Mo Mingcheng Wang Shu-Hai Lin Minjia Tan Cheng Luo Yi Chen Jia Liu Qiansen Zhang Leping Li Min Huang | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,7: | 2
Bioadaptation of implants to In vitro and In vivo oxidative stress pathological conditions via nanotopography-induced FoxO1 signaling pathways to enhance Osteoimmunal regeneration显示文摘Varieties of pathological conditions, including diabetes, are closely related to oxidative stress(OS),but the osseointegration or bioadaptation of implants to OS and the related mechanism remain poorly explored. In this study, the antioxidation and osteoimmune regeneration of titanium implants with micro/nanotopographies were evaluated under H2O2-,lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-and hyperglycemia-mediated cellular OS models and in diabetic rats as a representative animal model of OS.TiO2 nanotube(TNT)coating on titanium implants directly induced superior osteogenic differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and osseointegration compared with microscale sand blasted-acid etched topography(SLA)under OS,attributed to higher superoxide dismutase 2 activity, the neutralization of intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS),and less apoptosis.Mechanistically, the oxidation resistance on TNT is driven by upregulated forkhead box transcription factor O1(FoxO1),which is abolished after knockdown of FoxO1 via shRNA in MSCs.Indirectly,TNT also alleviates OS in macrophages, therefore inducing a higher portion of the M2 phenotype under OS with increased secretion of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10,further promoting the osseoimmunity capacity compared with SLA.The current study not only suggests the potential application of TiO2 nanotube-coated titanium implants in compromised conditions but also provides a systematic evaluation strategy for the future development of bone biomaterials. | Jingyan Huang Ruoqi Li Jinghong Yang Min Cai Yichen Lee Anxun Wang Bin Cheng Yan Wang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,10: | 1

CAV driving safety monitoring and warning via V2X-based edge computing system显示文摘Driving safety and accident prevention are attracting increasing global interest.Current safety monitoring systems often face challenges such as limited spatiotemporal coverage and accuracy, leading to delays in alerting drivers about potential hazards. This study explores the use of edge computing for monitoring vehicle motion and issuing accident warnings, such as lane departures and vehicle collisions.Unlike traditional systems that depend on data from single vehicles, the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system collects data directly from connected and automated vehicles(CAVs)via vehicle-to-everything communication. This approach facilitates a comprehensive assessment of each vehicle’s risk.We propose algorithms and specific data structures for evaluating accident risks associated with different CAVs.Furthermore,we examine the prerequisites for data accuracy and transmission delay to enhance the safety of CAV driving. The efficacy of this framework is validated through both simulated and real-world road tests, proving its utility in diverse driving conditions. | Cheng CHANG Jiawei ZHANG Kunpeng ZHANG Yichen ZHENG Mengkai SHI Jianming HU Shen LI Li LI | 2024 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2024,11,1: | 0
Synthesis of Cs_(2.5)H_(0.5)PW_(12)O_(40)/TiO_(2) Nanocomposites with Dominant TiO_(2){001}Facets and Related Photocatalytic Properties显示文摘TiO_(2) nanosheets with dominant{001}facets,coupled with Cs_(2.5)H_(0.5)PW_(12)O_(40),were successfully synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal reaction. The photocatalytic activity of nanocatalysts was evaluated by the degradation of Rhodamine B under UV light irradiation. The results showed that both the addition of Cs_(2.5)H_(0.5)PW_(12)O_(40) and the exposed{001}facets of TiO_(2) have a positive effect on the photocatalytic activity. The improved photoactivity of nanocomposites in comparison with that of TiO_(2) nanosheets could be attributed to the synergistic effect between Cs_(2.5)H_(0.5)PW_(12)O_(40) and TiO_(2) which facilitates the separation of photo-induced hole-electron pairs. | Yichen Hu Yuanhang Ren Gangfeng Tang Cheng Wang Min Tang Bin Yue Heyong He | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,11: | 0
Ambipolar tribotronic transistor of MoTe_(2)显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)tribotronic devices have been successfully involved in electromechanical modulation for channel conductance and applied in intelligent sensing system, touch screen, and logic gates.Ambipolar transistors and corresponding complementary inverters based on one type of semiconductors are highly promising due to the facile fabrication process and readily tunable polarity. Here,we demonstrate an ambipolar tribotronic transistor of molybdenum ditelluride(MoTe_(2)),which shows typical ambipolar transport properties modulated by triboelectric potential. It is comprised of a MoTe_(2)transistor and a lateral sliding triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG).The induced triboelectric potential by Maxwell’s displacement current(a driving force for TENG)can readily modulate the transport properties of both electrons and holes in MoTe_(2)channel and effectively drive the transistor.High performance tribotronic properties have been achieved, including low cutoff current below 1 pA·μm^(−1)and high current on/off ratio of~103 for holes and electrons dominated transports. The working mechanism on how to achieve tribotronic ambipolarity is discussed in detail.A complementary tribotronic inverter based on single flake of MoTe_(2)is also demonstrated with low power consumption and high stability. This work presents an active approach to efficiently modulate semiconductor devices and logic circuits based on 2D materials through external mechanical signal, which has great potential in human–machine interaction, intelligent sensor, and other wearable devices. | Yonghai Li Jinran Yu Yichen Wei Yifei Wang Liuqi Cheng Zhenyu Feng Ya Yang Zhong Lin Wang Qijun Sun | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,9: | 0
Bayesian Peak Picking for NMR Spectra显示文摘Protein structure determination is a very important topic in structural genomics, which helps people to understand varieties of biological functions such as protein-protein interactions, protein–DNA interactions and so on.Nowadays, nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) has often been used to determine the three-dimensional structures of protein in vivo. This study aims to automate the peak picking step, the most important and tricky step in NMR structure determination. We propose to model the NMR spectrum by a mixture of bivariate Gaussian densities and use the stochastic approximation Monte Carlo algorithm as the computational tool to solve the problem.Under the Bayesian framework, the peak picking problem is casted as a variable selection problem. The proposed method can automatically distinguish true peaks from false ones without preprocessing the data.To the best of our knowledge, this is the first effort in the literature that tackles the peak picking problem for NMR spectrum data using Bayesian method. | Yichen Cheng Xin Gao Faming Liang | 2014 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2014,12,1: | 0
Study on the Main Controlling Factors of the Early Ordovician Stromatolites Development in Liujiachang Area of Songzi City显示文摘The Early Ordovician stromatolites in the study area are mainly exposed at the bottom and middle and lower parts of the Second Member of Nanjinguan Formation, the top of the Fourth Member of Nanjinguan Formation, the middle of the Second Member of Fenxiang Formation and the bottom of the First Member of Honghuayuan Formation. In order to find out the controlling factors of Lower Ordovician stromatolites development in the study area, the analysis data of carbon, oxygen isotope samples, macro element samples as well as their variation characteristics are studied and then combined them with previous research results, which is eventually beneficial for reaching the conclusion:sea level change is one of the main factors controlling the formation of stromatolites. There are five sea level change cycles in the Early Ordovician period. The analysis of sea level change and accommodation space variation characteristics show that when the growth rate of the accommodation space is approximately equal to that of carbonate, the circulation of seawater is well, and the amount of light and oxygen is sufficient,so that the cyanobacteria organism can be multiplied in large quantities. The growth and development provide favorable conditions, and favorable conditions are provided for the growth and development of stromatolites; The peak changes in CaO content and CaO/MgO ratio indicate that the formation period of stromatolites is arid climate environment with high water temperature and large evaporation.Prokaryote reproduction is suitable for the environments with high seawater cleanliness. When the amount of land-based debris injected into the sea increases, the turbidity of water will lead to a large number of deaths of algae microorganisms that form stromatolites, and the stromatolitic microbial mats cannot be preserved. In addition, the growth and predation of macro-organisms play a restrictive role in the development of stromatolite-forming micro-organisms blue-green algae.According to the actual situa-tion of the development of the laminated rocks in the study area, what is the dominant function in the formation and decline of stromatolites between the evolution of metazoans and changing environments is discussed in the study. | Lanjun Wu Chuantao Xiao Zhongzhen Cheng Yichen Bao Li Huang Kanglin Chen | 2019 | Open Journal of Yangtze Oil and Gas2019,4,3: | 0
Altered gut microbiome in FUT2 loss-of-function mutants in support of personalized medicine for inflammatory bowel diseases显示文摘The FUT2 loss-of-function mutations are highly prevalent and are associated with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).To investigate the impact of FUT2 loss-of-function mutation on the gut microbiota in patients with IBD,81 endoscopically confirmed IBD patients were genotyped and divided into 3 groups:homozygous for functional FUT2 genes(SeSe),with one copy of non-functional FUT2 gene(Sese),or homozygous for non-functional FUT2 genes(sese).Escherichia, which attaches to fucosylated glycoconjugates, was the only abundant genus exhibiting decreased abundance in sese patients.Compared with SeSe or Sese patients, sese patients exhibited higher abundance in CD8+inducing Alistipe and Phascolarctobacterium and Th17 inducing Erysipelotrichaceae UCG-003.Counter-intuitively,butyrate-producing bacteria were more abundant in sese patients.Consistently, metabolomics analysis found higher levels of butyrate in sese patients. Our data support the hypothesis that FUT2 loss-of-function mutation participates in the IBD pathogenesis by decreasing binding sites for adherent bacteria and thus altering the gut microbiota.Decreased abundances of adherent bacteria may allow the overgrowth of bacteria that induce inflammatory T cells, leading to intestinal inflammation. As FUT2 loss-of-function mutations are highly prevalent, the identification of T cell inducing bacteria in sese patients could be valuable for the development of personalized microbial intervention for IBD. | Sijing Cheng Jun Hu Xianrui Wu Ji-An Pan Na Jiao Yichen Li Yibo Huang Xutao Lin Yifeng Zou Yuan Chen Lixin Zhu Min Zhi Ping Lan | 2021 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,9: | 0
