Experimental replacement of thoracic esophageal segment with a biomaterial artificial esophagus in dogs显示文摘Objective:To implant 80 mm-long artificial esophagi constructed of biomateriai in dogs, observe the perioperative survival rates and the incidence of postoperative complications, and study the mechanisms of postoperative healing. Methods:Specimens of the implanted esophagus,the'neo-esophagi',were taken for histopathologic study 1,3,6,12,24 months after operation. Results:The incidence of anastomotic leakage after the artificial esophagus implantation was 3.33%.The perioperative survival rate was 96.67%.The incidence of postoperative stenosis in the'neo-esophagi'was 81.48%;the stenoses were treated by expanding with esophagoscopy and implanting a stent.Epithelization of the mucosa in the'neo-esophagi'was completed in 3 to 6 months after surgery Structures such as submucosal muscle layers, mucous glands, nerve fibers, capillaries, etc.were regenerated after 12 months, and then reconstruction of the fibrous connective tissue layer was completed. Conclusion:Implanting a biomaterial artificial esophagus accomplishes safe reconstruction of defects in the esophagus.Advanced cellular structure of'neo-esophagus'can be regenerated after 1 year.Postoperative stenosis, which is related to hyperplasia and retraction of scar tissue,is still the most common complications which limiting the clinical application of the artificial esophagus.Zhang Lanjun Rong Tiehua Su Xiaodong Wu Qiuliang Xu Guoliang Lin Peng Long Hao FU Jianhua 2008Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2008,23,1:1
Digital twins in smart farming:An autoware-based simulator for autonomous agricultural vehicles显示文摘Digital twins can improve the level of control over physical entities and help manage complex systems by integrating a range of technologies. The autonomous agricultural machine has shown revolutionary effects on labor reduction and utilization rate in field works.Autonomous vehicles in precision agriculture have the potential to improve competitiveness compared to current crop production methods and have become a research hotspot. However, the development time and resources required in experiments have limited the research in this area.Simulation tools in unmanned farming that are required to enable more efficient, reliable, and safe autonomy are increasingly demanding.Inspired by the recent development of an open-source virtual simulation platform, this study proposed an autoware-based simulator to evaluate the performance of agricultural machine guidance based on digital twins.Oblique photogrammetry using drones is used to construct threedimensional maps of fields at the same scale as reality.A communication format suitable for agricultural machines was developed for data input and output, along with an inter-node communication methodology. The conversion, publishing, and maintenance of multiple coordinate systems were completed based on ROS(Robot Operating System).Coverage path planning was performed using hybrid curves based on Bézier curves, and it was tested in both a simulation environment and actual fields with the aid of Pure Pursuit algorithms and PID controllers.Xin Zhao Wanli Wang Long Wen Zhibo Chen Sixian Wu Kun Zhou Mengyao Sun Lanjun Xu Bingbing Hu Caicong Wu 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4:0
Woody plant cell walls:Fundamentals and utilization显示文摘Cell walls in plants, particularly forest trees, are the major carbon sink of the terrestrial ecosystem.Chemical and biosynthetic features of plant cell walls were revealed early on,focusing mostly on herbaceous model species.Recent developments in genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, transgenesis, and associated analytical techniques are enabling novel insights into formation of woody cell walls. Here,we review multilevel regulation of cell wall biosynthesis in forest tree species. We highlight current approaches to engineering cell walls as potential feedstock for materials and energy and survey reported field tests of such engineered transgenic trees. We outline opportunities and challenges in future research to better understand cell type biogenesis for more efficient wood cell wall modification and utilization for biomaterials or for enhanced carbon capture and storage.Wei Li Ying-Chung Jimmy Lin Ying-Lan Chen Chenguang Zhou Shuang Li Nette De Ridder Dyoni M.Oliveira Lanjun Zhange Baocai Zhang Jack P.Wang Changzheng Xu Xiaokang Fu Keming Luo Ai-Min Wu Taku Demura Meng-Zhu Lu Yihua Zhou Laigeng Li Toshiaki Umezawa Wout Boerjan Vincent L.Chiang 2024Molecular Plant2024,17,1:0
A Study of Molecular Resection Margins for Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Using Large Pathologic Sections显示文摘OBJECTIVE It has been shown that application of molecular biological techniques to surgical margins of some cancers could predict risk of local recurrence. However, the optimal length of surgical resection with tumor-free surgical margins for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ES-CC) is unknown. This study was conducted to evaluate the optimal length of surgical resection for ESCC with molecularly tumor-free surgical margins marked by p53 and Ki67. METHODS Surgical specimens from 70 patients with ESCC were collected for study. The lengths of the upper margin, tumor, and lower margin of every specimen were measured during the operation. Each specimen was divided into three large pathologic sections, stained with H&E and immunohistochemically for p53 and Ki67, and examined microscopically. The lengths of the upper and lower resection ends were measured for p53 and Ki67 positive expression. The actual surgical lengths were calculated by the principle of rational shrinkage. RESULTS All surgical margins were histologically tumor-free, while the positive rates of p53 and Ki67 were 66% and 54%. The positive rates of p53 and Ki67 in the upper resection end were 17% and 20%. The mean lengths of the upper resection end showing p53 and Ki67 positive expression were 1.08±1.12 cm and 1.64±1.01 cm, and the maximum lengths were 3.73 cm and 3.26 cm. The positive rates of p53 and Ki67 in the lower resection end were 20% and 23%. The mean lengths of the lower resection end of p53 and Ki67 with positive expression were 1.11±1.15 cm and 1.34±0.94 cm, and the maximum lengths were 3.73 cm and 3.61 cm. CONCLUSION The optimal length of surgical resection with molecularly tumor-free surgical margins of ESCC is not more than 5 cm.Guowei Ma Xu Zhang JunyeWang Qiuliang Wu Hao Long Peng Lin Jianhua Fu Richard Malthaner Meiqing Zhao Lanjun Zhang Zhesheng Wen Tiehua Rong 2006Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2006,3,5:0
Influence of impact energy on work hardening ability of austenitic manganese steel and its mechanism显示文摘To further understand the hardening mechanism of austenitic manganese steel under actual working conditions, the work hardening ability was studied and the microstructures of austenitic manganese steel were observed under different impact energies. The work hardening mechanism was also analyzed. The results show that the best strain hardening effect could be received only when the impact energy reaches or exceeds the critical impact energy. The microstructural observations reveal that dislocations, stacking faults and twins increase with raising impact energy of the tested specimens. The hardening mechanism changes at different hardening degrees. It is mainly dislocation and slip hardening below the critical impact energy, but it changes to the twinning hardening mechanism when the impact energy is above the critical impact energy.Li Xiaoyun Wu Wei Zu Fangqiu Liu Lanjun Zhang Xianfeng 2012China Foundry2012,9,3:0
Study on the Main Controlling Factors of the Early Ordovician Stromatolites Development in Liujiachang Area of Songzi City显示文摘The Early Ordovician stromatolites in the study area are mainly exposed at the bottom and middle and lower parts of the Second Member of Nanjinguan Formation, the top of the Fourth Member of Nanjinguan Formation, the middle of the Second Member of Fenxiang Formation and the bottom of the First Member of Honghuayuan Formation. In order to find out the controlling factors of Lower Ordovician stromatolites development in the study area, the analysis data of carbon, oxygen isotope samples, macro element samples as well as their variation characteristics are studied and then combined them with previous research results, which is eventually beneficial for reaching the conclusion:sea level change is one of the main factors controlling the formation of stromatolites. There are five sea level change cycles in the Early Ordovician period. The analysis of sea level change and accommodation space variation characteristics show that when the growth rate of the accommodation space is approximately equal to that of carbonate, the circulation of seawater is well, and the amount of light and oxygen is sufficient,so that the cyanobacteria organism can be multiplied in large quantities. The growth and development provide favorable conditions, and favorable conditions are provided for the growth and development of stromatolites; The peak changes in CaO content and CaO/MgO ratio indicate that the formation period of stromatolites is arid climate environment with high water temperature and large evaporation.Prokaryote reproduction is suitable for the environments with high seawater cleanliness. When the amount of land-based debris injected into the sea increases, the turbidity of water will lead to a large number of deaths of algae microorganisms that form stromatolites, and the stromatolitic microbial mats cannot be preserved. In addition, the growth and predation of macro-organisms play a restrictive role in the development of stromatolite-forming micro-organisms blue-green algae.According to the actual situa-tion of the development of the laminated rocks in the study area, what is the dominant function in the formation and decline of stromatolites between the evolution of metazoans and changing environments is discussed in the study.Lanjun Wu Chuantao Xiao Zhongzhen Cheng Yichen Bao Li Huang Kanglin Chen 2019Open Journal of Yangtze Oil and Gas2019,4,3:0
