1Driving-Cycle-Aware Energy Management of Hybrid Electric Vehicles Using a Three-Dimensional Markov Chain Model显示文摘This study developed a new online driving cycle prediction method for hybrid electric vehicles based on a three-dimensional stochastic Markov chain model and applied the method to a driving-cycle-aware energy management strategy.The impacts of different prediction time lengths on driving cycle generation were explored.The results indicate that the original driving cycle is compressed by 50%,which significantly reduces the computational burden while having only a slight effect on the prediction performance.The developed driving cycle prediction method was implemented in a real-time energy management algorithm with a hybrid electric vehicle powertrain model,and the model was verified by simulation using two different testing scenarios.The testing results demonstrate that the developed driving cycle prediction method is able to efficiently predict future driving tasks,and it can be successfully used for the energy management of hybrid electric vehicles.Bolin Zhao Chen Lv Theo Hofman 2019Automotive Innovation2019,2,2:7

3Disease gene identification by using graph kernels and Markov random fields显示文摘Genes associated with similar diseases are often functionally related.This principle is largely supported by many biological data sources,such as disease phenotype similarities,protein complexes,protein-protein interactions,pathways and gene expression profiles.Integrating multiple types of biological data is an effective method to identify disease genes for many genetic diseases.To capture the gene-disease associations based on biological networks,a kernel-based Markov random field(MRF)method is proposed by combining graph kernels and the MRF method.In the proposed method,three kinds of kernels are employed to describe the overall relationships of vertices in five biological networks,respectively,and a novel weighted MRF method is developed to integrate those data.In addition,an improved Gibbs sampling procedure and a novel parameter estimation method are proposed to generate predictions from the kernel-based MRF method.Numerical experiments are carried out by integrating known gene-disease associations,protein complexes,protein-protein interactions,pathways and gene expression profiles.The proposed kernel-based MRF method is evaluated by the leave-one-out cross validation paradigm,achieving an AUC score of 0.771 when integrating all those biological data in our experiments,which indicates that our proposed method is very promising compared with many existing methods.CHEN BoLin LI Min WANG JianXin WU FangXiang 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,11:5
4Nanosecond photoelectric effects in all-oxide p-n junction of La_(0.9)Sr_(0.1)MnO_(3)/SrNb_(0.01)Ti_(0.99)O_(3)显示文摘Nanosecond (ns) photoelectric effects have been observed in all-oxide p-n junctions of La0.9Sr0.1MnO3/SrNb0.01Ti0.99O3 for the first time. The rise time was about 23 ns and the full width at half maximum was about 125 ns for the open-circuit photovoltaic pulse when the La0.9Sr0.1MnO3 thin film in the p-n junction was irradiated by a laser of ~20 ns pulse duration and 308 nm wavelength. 6Female Plant Types of Ginkgo biloba L. in China显示文摘Ginkgo biloba is a dioecious and unique species within Ginkgo family and Ginkgo genus, but it shows a big variability. From 1950s, resources of female plants in China were investigated and collected, and the seed anatomical structure and morphological characters at different development stages were observed. According to the shape, length, width and thickness of ovule bracket and seed stone, as well as the characteristics of both sides and top of the stone, the female plants of Ginkgo biloba have been divided into five types, long-stone, Buddha-finger, horse-bell, mume-stone and round-stone. In addition, the important cultivars belonging to different types were also determined. 9Image processing operations identification via convolutional neural network显示文摘Dear editor,In recent years,image forensics has attracted increasing attention,and many forensic methods have been proposed for identifying image processing operations.Until now,most existing methods have been based on hand-crafted features,and only one specific operation is considered in these methods.In many forensic scenarios,however,multiple classification for various image processing operations is more practical.In addition,for some image processing operations,it is difficult to construct effective hand-crafted features.In this study,we therefore propose a new method based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs)to adaptively learn discriminative features for identifying typical image processing operations.However,directly employ CNN structures in other fields(e.g.,computer vision)for image forensics cannot obtain satisfactory performance.Thus,we carefully design the network structures(including the highpass filter bank,the channel expansion layer,the pooling layers,and the activation functions)of the proposed method.Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the current best method,which is based on hand-crafted features,and three related methods based on CNNs for image steganalysis and/or forensics,achieving stateof-the-art results.Furthermore,we provide supplementary results to show the rationality and robustness of the proposed model.Bolin CHEN Haodong LI Weiqi LUO Jiwu HUANG 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,3:3
10Genome sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of allotetraploid Salix matsudana Koidz显示文摘Polyploidy is a common phenomenon among willow species.In this study,genome sequencing was conducted for Salix matsudana Koidz(also named Chinese willow),an important greening and arbor tree species,and the genome of this species was compared with those of four other tree species in Salicaceae.The total genome sequence of S.matsudana was 655.72 Mb in size,with repeated sequences accounting for 45.97%of the total length.In total,531.43 Mb of the genome sequence could be mapped onto 38 chromosomes using the published genetic map as a reference.The genome of S.matsudana could be divided into two groups,the A and B genomes,through homology analysis with the genome of Populus trichocarpa,and the A and B genomes contained 23,985 and 25,107 genes,respectively.4DTv combined transposon analysis predicted that allotetraploidy in S.matsudana appeared~4 million years ago.The results from this study will help reveal the evolutionary history of S.matsudana and lay a genetic basis for its breeding.Jian Zhang Huwei Yuan Yujuan Li Yanhong Chen Guoyuan Liu Meixia Ye Chunmei Yu Bolin Lian Fei Zhong Yuna Jiang Jichen Xu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:3

12Identifying essential proteins based on dynamic protein-protein interaction networks and RNA-Seq datasets显示文摘The identification of essential proteins is not only important for understanding organism structure on the molecular level, but also beneficial to drug-target detection and genetic disease prevention. Traditional methods often employ various centrality indices of static protein-protein interaction(PPI) networks and/or gene expression profiles to predict essential proteins. However, the prediction accuracy of most methods still has room to be further improved. In this study, we propose a strategy to increase the prediction accuracy of essential protein identification in three ways. Firstly, RNA-Seq datasets are employed to construct integrated dynamic PPI networks. Using a RNA-Seq dataset is expected to give more accurate predictions than using microarray gene expression profiles. Secondly, a novel integrated dynamic PPI network is constructed by considering both the co-expression pattern and the co-expression level of the RNA-Seq data. Thirdly, a novel two-step strategy is proposed to identify essential proteins from two known centrality indices. 14Utilization of Bayer Red Mud Derived from Bauxite for Belite-Ferroaluminate Cement Production显示文摘Bayer red mud(BRM)is a kind of industrial solid waste characterized by huge volume and high alkalinity.Its disposal generates serious environmental pollution and occupies a large number of farmland.The utilization and recycling of BRM is currently a crucial issue and needs to be addressed as soon as possible.The chemical composition of BRM is similar to cement clinker.In this study,the feasibility of preparing Belite-ferroaluminate clinker(BFAC)with different BRM was explored.The physical properties,mechanics performance,radioactivity levels and trace harmful metals leaching were measured.XRD,BEI and EDS were used to characterize the mineral formation,and SEM is used to reveal the solidified mechanism of trace harmful metal.The results show that the preparation of BFAC using a certain amount of BRM was feasible.The formed phases in clinkers mainly included C_(4)A_(3)Š,C_(2)S and C_(4)AF.The flexural strength and compressive strength of BFAC at 3 days increased whereas 28 and 90 days decreased with the increase of BRM due to the formation of higher C_(4)AF and lower C_(2)S.The formation of large amounts of Al_(2)O_(3)·3H_(2)O gel and Fe_(2)O_(3)·3H_(2)O gel in hydration products enhanced the adsorption capability to heavy metals and other ions.The trace harmful metal concentration in the leaching solution was much less than the upper limits.The radioactivity level of leaching solution was close to natural radioactive background.BRM is safe as raw material of BFAC.Yanrong Zhao Ping Chen Shifeng Wang Yaxiong Ji Yuanhao Wang Bolin Wu Rongjin Liu 2020Journal of Renewable Materials2020,8,11:2

17Several miRNAs derived from serum extracellular vesicles are potential biomarkers for early diagnosis and progression of Parkinson’s disease显示文摘Background:Blood-based test for predicting disease progression and early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease(PD)is an unmet need in the clinic.The profiles of microRNAs(miRNAs)are regarded as potential diagnostic biomarkers for human diseases,whereas miRNAs in the periphery are susceptible to the influence of various components.MiRNAs enriched in serum extracellular vesicles(EVs)have demonstrated disease-specific advantages in diagnosis due to their high abundance,stability and resistance to degradation.This study was aimed to screen differentially expressed EV-derived miRNAs between healthy controls and PD patients to aid in diagnosis of PD.Methods:A total of 31 healthy controls and 72 patients with a diagnosis of PD at different Hoehn and Yahr stages in Tangdu Hospital were included.In total,185 differentially expressed miRNAs were obtained through RNA sequencing of serum EVs as well as edgeR and t-test analyses.Subsequently,the weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA)was utilized to identify the commonly expressed miRNAs in all stages of PD by constructing connections between modules,and specifically expressed miRNAs in each stage of PD by functional enrichment analysis.After aligning these miRNAs with PD-related miRNAs in Human miRNA Disease Database,the screened miRNAs were further validated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)using peripheral blood EVs from 40 more participants.Results:WGCNA showed that 4 miRNAs were commonly associated with all stages of PD and 13 miRNAs were specifically associated with different stages of PD.Of the 17 obtained miRNAs,7 were validated by ROC curve analysis and 7 were verified in 40 more participants by qRT-PCR.Six miRNAs were verified by both methods,which included 2 miRNAs that were commonly expressed in all stages of PD and 4 miRNAs that were specifically expressed in different stages of PD.Conclusions:The 6 serum EV-derived miRNAs,hsa-miR-374a-5p,hsa-miR-374b-5p,hsa-miR-199a-3p,hsa-miR-28-5p,hsa-miR-22-5p and hsa-miR-151a-5p,may potentially be used as biomarkers for PD progression and for early diagnosis of PD in populations.Shulei He Lu Huang Ci Shao Tiejian Nie Li Xia Bozhou Cui Fangfang Lu Lin Zhu Bolin Chen Qian Yang 2021Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,3:1
