| 2 | Heavy Metal Contamination of Agricultural Soils in Taiyuan, China显示文摘To evaluate the current state of the environmental quality of agricultural soils in Taiyuan City, a hotspot for China's industrial development, the concentrations of 8 heavy metals in soils were investigated by means of extensive sampling in farmlands, forestlands,and grasslands in the city. Statistical analyses and spatial distribution maps were used to identify the most significant heavy metal pollutants. The mean concentrations of As, Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb, Zn, Ni, and Cr were slightly higher than their background values in Taiyuan's topsoil, but were lower than the maximum permissible concentrations in the Chinese Environmental Quality Standard for agricultural soils. Farmland soils in Taiyuan had the highest average Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb, Zn, and Cr concentrations, but the As and Ni concentrations did not differ significantly among the farmland, forestland, and grasslands. Soil contamination by Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb,Zn, and Cr was mainly derived from farming practices, especially the use of sewage water for irrigation. In contrast, As and Ni might derive mainly from the soil parent material. | 5 | Nonhuman primate models of focal cerebral ischemia显示文摘Rodents have been widely used in the production of cerebral ischemia models. However, successful therapies have been proven on experimental rodent stroke model, and they have often failed to be effective when tested clinically. Therefore, nonhuman primates were recommended as the ideal alternatives, owing to their similarities with the human cerebrovascular system, brain metabolism, grey to white matter ratio and even their rich behavioral repertoire. The present review is a thorough summary of ten methods that establish nonhuman primate models of focal cerebral ischemia; electrocoagulation, endothelin-1-induced occlusion, microvascular clip occlusion, autologous blood clot embolization, balloon inflation, microcatheter embolization, coil embolization, surgical suture embolization, suture, and photochemical induction methods. This review addresses the advantages and disadvantages of each method, as well as precautions for each model, compared nonhuman primates with rodents, different species of nonhuman primates and different modeling methods. Finally it discusses various factors that need to be considered when modelling and the method of evaluation after modelling. | 7 | Prediction of pathological nodal stage of locally advanced rectal cancer by collective features of multiple lymph nodes in magnetic resonance images before and after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy显示文摘Objective:To predict pathological nodal stage of locally advanced rectal cancer by a radiomic method that uses collective features of multiple lymph nodes(LNs)in magnetic resonance images before and after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(NCRT).Methods:A total of 215 patients were included in this study and chronologically divided into the discovery cohort(n=143)and validation cohort(n=72).In total,2,931 pre-NCRT LNs and 1,520 post-NCRT LNs were delineated from all visible rectal LNs in magnetic resonance images.Geometric,first-order and texture features were extracted from each LN before and after NCRT.Collective features are defined as the maximum,minimum,mean,median value and standard deviation of each feature from all delineated LNs of each participant.LN-model is constructed from collective LN features by logistic regression model with L1 regularization to predict pathological nodal stage(ypN0 or ypN+).Tumor-model is constructed from tumor features for comparison by using DeLong test.Results:The LN-model selects 7 features from 412 LN features,and the tumor-model selects 7 features from 82 tumor features.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of LN-model in the discovery cohort is 0.818[95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.745-0.878],significantly(Z=2.09,P=0.037)larger than 0.685(95%CI:0.602-0.760)of the tumor-model.The AUC of LN-model in validation cohort is 0.812(95%CI:0.703-0.895),significantly(Z=3.106,P=0.002)larger than 0.517(95%CI:0.396-0.636)of the tumor-model.Conclusions:The usage of collective features from all visible rectal LNs performs better than the usage of tumor features for the prediction of pathological nodal stage of locally advanced rectal cancer. | Haitao Zhu Xiaoyan Zhang Xiaoting Li Yanjie Shi Huici Zhu Yingshi Sun | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,6: | 13 |
| 8 | Wearable strain sensing textile based on one-dimensional stretchable and weavable yarn sensors显示文摘Flexible, wearable, and even stretchable sensors are the key components ofsmart electronic textiles. However, most reported flexible and wearable sensorsfor wearable electronics are usually fabricated in two-dimensional (2D) planarstrip configurations, which cannot be properly integrated into textile structuresand thus greatly degrade intrinsic properties such as the softness, flexibility, andair permeability of textiles and the aesthetic feeling of clothing. In this work, a newone-dimensional weavable strain sensing yarn consisting of an elastic polyurethane(PU) core, a conductive Ag-nanopartides/graphene-microsheets composite sheath,and a silicone encapsulation layer was designed and fabricated through aneasily manipulated protocol. Arising from the reasonable structural design andappropriate material selection, the as-fabricated strain sensor not only exhibitedexcellent flexibility, stretchability, and highly repeatable electromechanicalstability (a repeatability error of 1.56%) but also possessed both high sensitivity(a gauge factor of nearly 500) and a relatively wide working range (0-50%applied strain) with good linearity (a correlation coefficient of 0.98). In addition,the facile, nearly all-solution-based fabrication protocol enabled the scalableproduction of long conductive yams. Thus, the proper yarn length and superbmechanical properties endowed the stretchable conductive yarn with goodweavability. The excellent wearability of the stretchable conductive yarn wasderived from the outermost isolating, hydrophobic, and biocompatible siliconeencapsulation layer. | 9 | Diffusion-tensor imaging as an adjunct to dynamic contrastenhanced MRI for improved accuracy of differential diagnosis between breast ductal carcinoma in situ and invasive breast carcinoma显示文摘Objective:To determine the value of diffusion-tensor imaging(DTI) as an adjunct to dynamic contrastenhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCE-MRI) for improved accuracy of differential diagnosis between breast ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS) and invasive breast carcinoma(IBC).Methods:The MRI data of 63 patients pathologically confirmed as breast cancer were analyzed.The conventional MRI analysis metrics included enhancement style,initial enhancement characteristic,maximum slope of increase,time to peak,time signal intensity curve(TIC) pattern,and signal intensity on FST2 WI.The values of apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC),directionally-averaged mean diffusivity(D_(avg)),exponential attenuation(EA),fractional anisotropy(FA),volume ratio(VR) and relative anisotropy(RA)were calculated and compared between DCIS and IBC.Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify independent factors for distinguishing IBC and DCIS.The diagnostic performance of the diagnosis equation was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve.The diagnostic efficacies of DCEMRI,DWI and DTI were compared independendy or combined.Results:EA value,lesion enhancement style and TIC pattern were identified as independent factor for differential diagnosis of IBC and DCIS.The combination diagnosis showed higher diagnostic efficacy than a single use of DCE-MRI(P=0.02),and the area of the curve was improved from 0.84(95%CI,0.67-0.99) to0.94(95%CI,0.85-1.00).Conclusions:Quantitative DTI measurement as an adjunct to DCE-MRI could improve the diagnostic performance of differential diagnosis between DCIS and IBC compared to a single use of DCE-MRI. | Yuan Wang Xiaopeng Zhang Kun Cao Yanling Li Xiaoting Li Liping Qi Lei Tang Zhilong Wang Shunyu Gao | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,2: | 12 |
| 10 | Prognostic factors for transarterial chemoembolization combined with sustained oxaliplatin-based hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy of colorectal cancer liver metastasis显示文摘Objective: To investigate the prognostic factors in chemorefractory colorectal cancer liver metastasis(CRCLM)patients treated by transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) and sustained hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC).Methods: Between 2006 and 2015, 162 patients who underwent 763 TACE and HAIC in total were enrolled in this retrospective study, including 110 males and 52 females, with a median age of 60(range, 26–83) years.Prognostic factors were assessed with Log-rank test, Cox univariate and multivariate analyses.Results: The median survival time(MST) and median progression-free survival(PFS) of the 162 patients from first TACE/HAIC were 15.6 months and 5.5 months respectively. Normal serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9, <37 U/m L)(P<0.001) and carbohydrate antigen 72-4(CA72-4, <6.7 U/m L)(P=0.026), combination with other local treatment(liver radiotherapy or liver radiofrequency ablation)(P=0.034) and response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) were significant factors related to survival after TACE/HAIC in univariate analysis. A multivariate analysis revealed that normal serum CA19-9(P<0.001), response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) and combination with other local treatment(P=0.001) were independent factors among them.Conclusions: Our findings indicate that serum CA19-9 <37 U/m L and response to TACE/HAIC are significant prognostic indicators for this combined treatment, and treated with other local treatment could reach a considerable survival benefit for CRCLM. | 11 | Lira-YOLO: a lightweight model for ship detection in radar images显示文摘For the detection of marine ship objects in radar images, large-scale networks based on deep learning are difficult to be deployed on existing radar-equipped devices. This paper proposes a lightweight convolutional neural network, LiraNet, which combines the idea of dense connections, residual connections and group convolution, including stem blocks and extractor modules.The designed stem block uses a series of small convolutions to extract the input image features, and the extractor network adopts the designed two-way dense connection module, which further reduces the network operation complexity. Mounting LiraNet on the object detection framework Darknet, this paper proposes Lira-you only look once(Lira-YOLO), a lightweight model for ship detection in radar images, which can easily be deployed on the mobile devices. Lira-YOLO's prediction module uses a two-layer YOLO prediction layer and adds a residual module for better feature delivery. At the same time, in order to fully verify the performance of the model, mini-RD, a lightweight distance Doppler domain radar images dataset, is constructed. Experiments show that the network complexity of Lira-YOLO is low, being only 2.980 Bflops, and the parameter quantity is smaller, which is only 4.3 MB. The mean average precision(mAP) indicators on the mini-RD and SAR ship detection dataset(SSDD) reach 83.21% and 85.46%, respectively,which is comparable to the tiny-YOLOv3. | 13 | Effects of metabolizable energy and crude protein levels on laying performance,egg quality and serum biochemical indices of Fengda-1 layers显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary ME and CP levels on laying performance, egg quality and serum biochemical indices of Fengda-1 layers. In a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement, 2,400 Fengda-1 layers(32 wk of age) were randomly assigned to 6 experimental diets with 2,650 and 2,750 kcal of ME/kg of diet, each containing 14.50%, 15.00% and 15.50% CP, respectively. Each dietary treatment was replicated 5 times, and feed and water were provided ad libitum. The trial lasted for 10 wk, including a2-week acclimation period and an 8-week experimental period. Our results showed that ADFI decreased as the ME level of diet increased from 2,650 to 2,750 kcal/kg(P< 0.05). Layers fed diets with 2,750 kcal/kg ME exhibited higher mortality than those fed with 2,650 kcal/kg ME(P < 0.05). Birds fed with 14.50% and15.00% CP had higher egg production(EP) and egg mass(EM) than those fed with 15.50% CP(P < 0.05).Yolk color increased as the ME level of the diet increased from 2,650 to 2,750 kcal/kg, however, the eggshell thickness decreased(P < 0.05). Serum concentrations of uric acid and triglyceride in layers fed diets with 2,750 kcal/kg ME were higher than those fed diets with 2,650 kcal/kg ME(P < 0.05). There was no significant interaction between ME and CP on laying performance, egg quality, or serum biochemical indices(P > 0.05). | 14 | The Convergence of Least-Squares Progressive Iterative Approximation for Singular Least-Squares Fitting System显示文摘Data fitting is an extensively employed modeling tool in geometric design. With the advent of the big data era, the data sets to be fitted are made larger and larger, leading to more and more least-squares fitting systems with singular coefficient matrices. LSPIA (least-squares progressive iterative approximation) is an efficient iterative method for the least-squares fitting. However, the convergence of LSPIA for the singular least-squares fitting systems remains as an open problem. In this paper, the authors showed that LSPIA for the singular least-squares fitting systems is convergent. Moreover, in a special case, LSPIA converges to the Moore-Penrose (M-P) pseudo-inverse solution to the least- squares fitting result of the data set. This property makes LSPIA, an iterative method with clear geometric meanings, robust in geometric modeling applications. | 16 | Methane emissions from rice fields under continuous straw return in the middle-lower reaches of the Yangtze River显示文摘A three-year experiment was conducted in the middle-lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China to study the influence of continuous wheat straw return during the rice season and continuous rice straw return in wheat on methane (CH 4 ) emissions from rice fields in which, the rice-wheat rotation system is the most dominant planting pattern. The field experiment was initiated in October 2009 and has continued since the wheat-growing season of that year. The analyses for the present study were conducted in the second (2011) and third (2012) rice growing seasons. Four treatments, namely, the continuous return of wheat straw and rice straw in every season (WR), of rice straw but no wheat straw return (R), of wheat straw but no rice straw return (W) and a control with no straw return (CK), were laid out in a randomized split-plot design. The total seasonal CH 4 emissions ranged from 107.4 to 491.7 kg/ha (2011) and 160.3 to 909.6 kg/ha (2012). The increase in CH 4 emissions for treatments WR and W were 289% and 230% in the second year and 185% and 225% in the third year, respectively, in relation to CK. We observed less methane emissions in the treatment R than in CK by 14%-43%, but not statistically significant. Treatment R could increase rice productivity while no more CH 4 emission occurs. | 17 | Essential roles of exosome and circRNA_101093 on ferroptosis desensitization in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Resistance to ferroptosis,a regulated cell death caused by irondependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides,has recently been linked to lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Intracellular antioxidant systems are required for protection against ferroptosis.The purpose of the present studywas to investigate whether and how extracellular system desensitizes LUAD cells to ferroptosis.Methods:Established human lung fibroblasts MRC-5,WI38,and human LUAD H1650,PC9,H1975,H358,A549,and H1299 cell lines,tumor and matched normal adjacent tissues of LUAD,and plasma from healthy individuals and LUAD patients were used in this study.Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting were used to analyze protein expression,and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR was used to analyze mRNA expression.Cell viability,cell death,and the lipid reactive oxygen species generationwere measured to evaluate the responses to ferroptosis.Exosomes were observed using transmission electron microscope.The localization of arachidonic acid(AA)was detected using click chemistry labeling followed by confocal microscopy.Interactions between RNAs and proteins were detected using RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation and photoactivatable ribonucleoside-enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation methods.Proteomic analysis was used to investigate RNA-regulated proteins,and metabolomic analysis was performed to analyze metabolites.Cellderived xenograft,patient-derived xenograft,cell-implanted intrapulmonary LUAD mouse models and plasma/tissue specimens from LUAD patients were used to validate the molecular mechanism.Results:Plasma exosome from LUAD patients specifically reduced lipid peroxidation and desensitized LUAD cells to ferroptosis.A potential explanation is that exosomal circRNA_101093(cir93)maintained an elevation in intracellular cir93 in LUAD to modulate AA,a poly-unsaturated fatty acid critical for ferroptosisassociated increased peroxidation in the plasma membrane.Mechanistically,cir93 interacted with and increased fatty acid-binding protein 3(FABP3),which transported AA and facilitated its reaction with taurine.Thus,global AA was reduced,whereas N-arachidonoyl taurine(NAT,the product of AA and taurine)was induced.Notably,the role of NAT in suppressing AA incorporation into the plasma membrane was also revealed.In pre-clinical in vivo models,reducing exosome improved ferroptosis-based treatment.Conclusion:Exosome and cir93 are essential for desensitizing LUAD cells to ferroptosis,and blocking exosome may be helpful for future LUAD treatment. | Xiao Zhang Yunhua Xu Lifang Ma Keke Yu Yongjie Niu Xin Xu Yi Shi Susu Guo Xiangfei Xue Yikun Wang Shiyu Qiu Jiangtao Cui Hong Wang Xiaoting Tian Yayou Miao Fanyu Meng Yongxia Qiao Yongchun Yu Jiayi Wang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,4: | 10 |

Vali-dations of analytical methods for MT residue in food and the results obtained have become indispensable. The high perfor-mance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the detection of MT with liquid-liquid extraction by trichloromethane-methanol in carp muscle tissue was preliminarily validated with reference to the following parameters: recovery (accuracy)at the 1, 5 and 10mg kg-1 level, between-run and within-run CV values (repeatability, also called relative standard deviation(RSD)) and limit of detection. The recoveries were above 80% and the between-run and within-run CV values below 10%for muscle tissue.
