1Secondary organic carbon quantification and source apportionment of PM_(10) in Kaifeng, China显示文摘During 2005, the filter samples of ambient PM10 from five sites and the source samples of particulate matter were collected in Kaifeng, Henan Province of China. Nineteen elements, water-soluble ions, total carbon (TC) and organic carbon (OC) contained in samples were analyzed. Seven contributive source types were identified and their contributions to ambient PM10 were estimated by chemical mass balance (CMB) receptor model. Weak associations between the concentrations of organic carbon and element carbon (EC) were observed during the sampling periods, indicating that there was secondary organic aerosol pollution in the urban atmosphere. An indirect method of 'OC/EC minimum ratio' was applied to estimate the concentration of secondary organic carbon (SOC). The results showed that SOC contributed 26.2%, 32.4% and 18.0% of TC in spring, summer-fall and winter, respectively, and the annual average SOC concentration was 7.07 μg/m3, accounting for 5.73% of the total mass in ambient PM10. 2Source apportionment of ambient PM_(10) in urban areas of Wuxi,China显示文摘A total of 168 PM_(10)samples were collected during the year of 2005 at eight sites in the city of Wuxi in China.Fifteen chemical elements,three water-soluble ions,total carbon and organic carbon were analyzed.Six source categories were identified and their contributions to ambient PM_(10)in Wuxi were estimated using a nested chemical mass balance method that reduces the effects of colinearity on the chemical mass balance model.In addition,the concentrations of secondary aerosols,such as secondary organic carbon,sulfate and nitrate,were quantified.The spatially averaged PM_(10)was high in the spring and winter(123μg·m^(-3)and low in the summer-fall(90μg·m^(-3)).According to the result of source apportionment,resuspended dust was the largest contributor to ambient PM_(10),accounting for more than 50%of the PM_(10)mass.Coal combustion(14.6%)and vehicle exhaust(9.4%)were also significant source categories of ambient PM_(10).Construction and cement dust,sulfates,secondary organic carbon,and nitrates made contributions ranging between 4.1%and 4.9%.Other source categories such as steel manufacturing dust and soil dust made low contributions to ambient PM_(10).Bo HAN Xiaohui BI Yonghua XUE Jianhui WU Tan ZHU Baogui ZHANG Jianqing DING Yuanxin DU 2011Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2011,5,4:5
3Multivariate predictive model for asymptomatic spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in patients with liver cirrhosis显示文摘BACKGROUNDSpontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a detrimental infection of the asciticfluid in liver cirrhosis patients, with high mortality and morbidity. Earlydiagnosis and timely antibiotic administration have successfully decreased themortality rate to 20%-25%. However, many patients cannot be diagnosed in theearly stages due to the absence of classical SBP symptoms. Early diagnosis ofasymptomatic SBP remains a great challenge in the clinic.AIMTo establish a multivariate predictive model for early diagnosis of asymptomaticSBP using positive microbial cultures from liver cirrhosis patients with ascites.METHODSA total of 98 asymptomatic SBP patients and 98 ascites liver cirrhosis patients withnegative microbial cultures were included in the case and control groups,respectively. Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis was performed toidentify potential indicators for asymptomatic SBP diagnosis. The diagnosticperformance of the model was estimated using the receiver operatingcharacteristic curve.RESULTSPatients in the case group were more likely to have advanced disease stages,cirrhosis related-complications, worsened hematology and ascites, and higher mortality. Based on multivariate analysis, the predictive model was as follows: y (P) = 0.018 + 0.312 × MELD (model of end-stage liver disease) + 0.263 × PMN(ascites polymorphonuclear) + 0.184 × N (blood neutrophil percentage) + 0.233 ×HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma) + 0.189 × renal dysfunction. The area under thecurve value of the established model was 0.872, revealing its high diagnosticpotential. The diagnostic sensitivity was 73.5% (72/98), the specificity was 86.7%(85/98), and the diagnostic efficacy was 80.1%.CONCLUSIONOur predictive model is based on the MELD score, polymorphonuclear cells,blood N, hepatocellular carcinoma, and renal dysfunction. 6Characteristics of soil organic carbon and total nitrogen under various grassland types along a transect in a mountain-basin system in Xinjiang, China显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) and soil total nitrogen(STN) in arid regions are important components of global C and the N cycles, and their response to climate change will have important implications for both ecosystem processes and global climate feedbacks. Grassland ecosystems of Funyun County in the southern foot of the Altay Mountains are characterized by complex topography, suggesting large variability in the spatial distribution of SOC and STN. However, there has been little investigation of SOC and STN on grasslands in arid regions with a mountain-basin structure. Therefore, we investigated the characteristics of SOC and STN in different grassland types in a mountain-basin system at the southern foot of the Altai Mountains, north of the Junggar Basin in China, and explored their potential influencing factors and relationships with meteorological factors and soil properties. We found that the concentrations and storages of SOC and STN varied significantly with grassland type, and showed a decreasing trend along a decreasing elevation gradient in alpine meadow, mountain meadow, temperate typical steppe, temperate steppe desert, and temperate steppe desert. In addition, the SOC and STN concentrations decreased with depth, except in the temperate desert steppe. According to Pearson's correlation values and redundancy analysis, the mean annual precipitation, soil moisture content and soil available N concentration were significantly positively correlated with the SOC and STN concentrations. In contrast, the mean annual temperature, p H, and soil bulk density were significantly and negatively correlated with the SOC and STN concentrations. The mean annual precipitation and mean annual temperature were the primary factors related to the SOC and STN concentrations. The distributions of the SOC and STN concentrations were highly regulated by the elevation-induced differences in meteorological factors. Mean annual precipitation and mean annual temperature together explained 97.85% and 98.38% of the overall variations in the SOC and STN concentrations, respectively, at soil depth of 0–40 cm, with precipitation making the greatest contribution. 8Flotillin-2 is an acrosome-related protein involved in mouse spermiogenesis显示文摘Spermatogenesis is a complex process of terminal differentiation by which mature sperms are generated,and it can be divided into three phases:mitosis,meiosis and spermiogenesis.In a previous study,we established a series of proteomic profiles for spermatogenesis to understand the regulation of male fertility and infertility.Here,we further investigated the localization and the role of flotillin-2 in spermiogenesis.Flotillin-2 expression was investigated in the testis of male CD1 mice at various developmental stages of spermatogenesis by using Western blotting,immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.Flotillin-2 was knocked down in vivo in three-week-old male mice using intratesticular injection of small inhibitory RNA(siRNA),and sperm abnormalities were assessed three weeks later.Flotillin-2 was expressed at high levels in male germ cells during spermatogenesis.Flotillin-2 immunoreactivity was observed in pachytene spermatocytes as a strong dot-shaped signal and in round spermatids as a sickle-shaped distribution ahead of the acrosome.Immunofluorescence confirmed flotillin-2 was localized in front of the acrosome in round spermatids,indicating that flotillin-2 was localized to the Golgi apparatus.Knockdown of flotillin-2 in vivo led to a significant increase in head sperm abnormalities isolated from the cauda epididymis,compared with control siRNA-injected testes.This study indicates that flotillin-2 is a novel Golgi-related protein involved in sperm acrosome biogenesis.Yibo Wu Xin Chen Shuai Wang Min Jiang Bo Zheng Quan Zhou Ye Bi Zuomin Zhou Xiaoyan Huang Jiahao Sha 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,4:3

11Detailed resume of RNA m^(6)A demethylases显示文摘N6-Methyladenosine(m^(6)A) is the most abundant internal modification in eukaryotic mRNA,playing critical role in various bioprocesses. Like other epigenetic modifications, m^(6)A modification can be catalyzed by the methyltransferase complex and erased dynamically to maintain cells homeostasis. Up to now, only two m^(6)A demethylases have been reported, fat mass and obesity-associated protein(FTO)and alkylation protein AlkB homolog 5(ALKBH5), involving in a wide range of mRNA biological progress, including mRNA shearing, export, metabolism and stability. Furthermore, they participate in many significantly biological signaling pathway, and contribute to the progress and development of cancer along with other diseases. 13Progress and prospects of horizontal well fracturing technology for shale oil and gas reservoirs显示文摘By systematically summarizing horizontal well fracturing technology abroad for shale oil and gas reservoirs since the “13th Five-Year Plan”, this article elaborates new horizontal well fracturing features in 3D development of stacked shale reservoirs, small well spacing and dense well pattern, horizontal well re-fracturing, fracturing parameters optimization and cost control. In light of requirements on horizontal well fracturing technology in China, we have summarized the technological progress in simulation of multi-fracture propagation, horizontal well frac-design, electric-drive fracturing equipment, soluble tools and low-cost downhole materials and factory-like operation. 14High starter phosphorus fertilization facilitates soil phosphorus turnover by promoting microbial functional interaction in an arable soil显示文摘Microbial phosphorus(P)turnover is critical in C utilization efficiency in agroecosystems.It is therefore necessary to understand the P mobilization processes occurring during P fertilization in order to ensure both crop yield and environmental quality.Here,we established a controlled pot experiment containing soil amended with three different levels of starter P fertilizer and collected soil samples after 30,60,and 90 days of incubation.Quantitative microbial element cycling(QMEC)smart chip technology and 16S rRNA gene sequencing were used to investigate functional gene structures involved in carbon,nitrogen and P cycling and the bacterial community composition of the collected samples.Although P fertilization did not significantly affect the structure of the soil microbial community,some rare microbiota were changed in particular phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria were enriched at the high P fertilization level,suggesting that the rare taxa make an important contribution to P turnover.P fertilization also altered the functional gene structure,and high P concentrations enhanced the functional gene diversity and abundance.Partial redundancy analysis further revealed that changes in rare taxa and functional genes of soil microorganisms drive the alteration of soil P pools.These findings extend our understanding of the microbial mechanisms of P turnover.Hongzhe Li Qingfang Bi Kai Yang Simon bo Lasson Bangxiao Zheng Li Cui Yongguan Zhu Kai Ding 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,8:3

17Total ionizing dose effects on graphene-based charge-trapping memory显示文摘This study investigates the total ionizing dose effects in graphene-based charge-trapping memory(GCTM) capacitors by using60 Co γ-irradiation. Electrical properties including C-V hysteresis window,gate leakage current, and flat band voltage shifts are evaluated with ionizing dose levels up to 1 Mrad(Si).The C-V hysteresis memory window is hardly affected by the irradiation. The gate leakage current increases with the increase of ionizing dose due to the multiple-trap assisted tunneling mechanism. Significant electrical degrade of the devices in programmed and erased states has been observed with the increase of the dose levels. 20KDM2B promotes IL-6 production and inflammatory responses through Brg1-mediated chromatin remodeling显示文摘IL-6 plays important and pleiotropic roles in infection and inflammatory diseases,and its production needs to be tightly regulated.However,the epigenetic mechanism underlying Il6 gene transcription remains to be fully elucidated.Here,we report that lysine-specific demethylase 2b(KDM2B),which demethylates H3K4me3 and H3K36me2,is required in macrophages and dendritic cells for the induction of IL-6 but not TNF-α,IL-1,and IFN-β.Compared to wild-type mice,KDM2B-deficient mice were more resistant to endotoxin shock and colitis,with a less severe inflammatory pathogenesis phenotype and decreased IL-6 production in sera.KDM2B selectively bound the Il6 promoter but did not alter histone demethylation;instead,KDM2B interacted with Brahma-related gene 1(Brg1),the core ATPase subunit of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes,to facilitate chromatin accessibility of the Il6 promoter.Furthermore,KDM2B directly recruited RNA Polymerase II to further initiate and promote Il6 transcription.Thus,our finding identifies a novel nonclassical function of KDM2B in gene-specific transcription initiation and enhancement of Il6 independent of its demethylase activity and adds new insight into the specific epigenetic modification mechanism of inflammatory immune responses.Qingqing Zhou Yunkai Zhang Bo Wang Wenhui Zhou Yong Bi Wanwan Huai Xi Chen Yihan Chen Zhongmin Liu Xingguang Liu Zhenzhen Zhan 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,8:2
