| 2 | Transplantation of UC-MSCs on collagen scaffold activates follicles in dormant ovaries of POF patients with long history of infertility显示文摘Premature ovarian failure(POF) is a refractory disease for clinical treatment with the goal of restoring fertility. In this study,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on a collagen scaffold(collagen/UC-MSCs) can activate primordial follicles in vitro via phosphorylation of FOXO3 a and FOXO1. Transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs to the ovaries of POF patients rescued overall ovarian function, evidenced by elevated estradiol concentrations, improved follicular development, and increased number of antral follicles. Successful clinical pregnancy was achieved in women with POF after transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs or UC-MSCs. | 3 | Prognostic nutritional index predicts postoperative complications and long-term outcomes of gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate the impact of prognostic nutritional index(PNI)on the postoperative complications and long-term outcomes in gastric cancer patients undergoing total gastrectomy.METHODS:The data for 386 patients with gastric cancer were extracted and analyzed between January2003 and December 2008 in our center.The patients were divided into two groups according to the cutoff value of the PNI:those with a PNI≥46 and those with a PNI<46.Clinicopathological features were compared between the two groups and potential prognostic factors were analyzed.The relationship between postoperative complications and PNI was analyzed by logistic regression.The univariate and multivariate hazard ratios were calculated using the Cox proportional hazard model.RESULTS:The optimal cutoff value of the PNI was set at 46,and patients with a PNI≥46 and those with a PNI<46 were classified into PNI-high and PNI-low groups,respectively.Patients in the PNI-low group were more likely to have advanced tumor(T),node(N),and TNM stages than patients in the PNI-high group.The low PNI is an independent risk factor for the incidence of postoperative complications(OR=2.223).The 5-year overall survival(OS)rates were 54.1%and21.1%for patients with a PNI≥46 and those with a PNI<46,respectively.The OS rates were significantly lower in the PNI-low group than in the PNI-high group among patients with stagesⅡ(P=0.001)andⅢ(P<0.001)disease.CONCLUSION:The PNI is a simple and useful marker not only to identify patients at increased risk for postoperative complications,but also to predict long-term survival after total gastrectomy.The PNI should be included in the routine assessment of advanced gastric cancer patients. | Nan Jiang Jing-Yu Deng Xue-Wei Ding Bin Ke Ning Liu Ru-Peng Zhang Han Liang | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,30: | 41 |
| 4 | Transplantation of collagen scaffold with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells promotes functional endometrium reconstruction via downregulating ΔNp63 expression in Asherman's syndrome显示文摘Asherman's syndrome(AS) is a common disease that presents endometrial regeneration disorder. However, little is known about its molecular features of this aregenerative endometrium in AS and how to reconstruct the functioning endometrium for the patients with AS. Here, we report that ΔNp63 is significantly upregulated in residual epithelial cells of the impaired endometrium in AS; the upregulated-ΔNp63 induces endometrial quiescence and alteration of stemness. Importantly, we demonstrate that engrafting high density of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMNCs) loaded in collagen scaffold onto the uterine lining of patients with AS downregulates ΔNp63 expression, reverses ΔNp63-induced pathological changes, normalizes the stemness alterations and restores endometrial regeneration. Finally, five patients achieved successful pregnancies and live births. Therefore, we conclude that ΔNp63 is a crucial therapeutic target for AS. | 5 | Aerosol and boundary-layer interactions and impact on air quality显示文摘Air quality is concerned with pollutants in both the gas phase and solid or liquid phases. The latter are referred to as aerosols, which are multifaceted agents affecting air quality, weather and climate through many mechanisms. Unlike gas pollutants, aerosols interact strongly with meteorological variables with the strongest interactions taking place in the planetary boundary layer(PBL). The PBL hosting the bulk of aerosols in the lower atmosphere is affected by aerosol radiative effects. Both aerosol scattering and absorption reduce the amount of solar radiation reaching the ground and thus reduce the sensible heat fluxes that drive the diurnal evolution of the PBL. Moreover, aerosols can increase atmospheric stability by inducing a temperature inversion as a result of both scattering and absorption of solar radiation, which suppresses dispersion of pollutants and leads to further increases in aerosol concentration in the lower PBL.Such positive feedback is especially strong during severe pollution events. Knowledge of the PBL is thus crucial for understanding the interactions between air pollution and meteorology. | 7 | Stapled transanal rectal resection for obstructed defecation syndrome associated with rectocele and rectal intussusception显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of stapled transanal rectal resection(STARR),and to analyze the outcome of the patients 12-mo after the operation.METHODS:From May 2007 to October 2008,50 female patients with rectocele and/or rectal intussusception underwent STARR.The preoperative status,perioperative and postoperative complications at baseline,3,6 and 12-mo were assessed.Data were collected prospectively from standardized questionnaires for the assessment of constipation[constipation scoring system,Longo’s obstructed defecation syndrome(ODS)score system,symptom severity score],patient satisfaction (visual analogue scale),and quality of life(Patient Assessment of Constipation-Quality of Life Questionnaire).RESULTS:At a 12-mo follow-up,significant improvement in the constipation scoring system,ODS score system,symptom severity score,visual analog scale and quality of life(P<0.0001)was observed.The symptoms of constipation improved in 90%of patients at 12 mo after surgery.The self-reported definitive outcome was excellent in 15(30%)patients,fairly good in 8(16%),good in 22(44%),and poor in 5(10%).CONCLUSION:STARR can be performed safely without major morbidity.Moreover,the procedure seems to be effective for patients with obstructed defecation associated with symptomatic rectocele and rectal intussusception. | Zhang, Bin Ding, Jian-Hua Yin, Shu-Hui Zhang, Meng Zhao, Ke | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,20: | 23 |

| 9 | Positive impact of adding No.14v lymph node to D2 dissection on survival for distal gastric cancer patients after surgery with curative intent显示文摘Background:D2 lymphadenectomy has been increasingly regarded as standard surgical procedure for advanced gastric cancer(GC),while the necessity of No.14 v lymph node(14v) dissection for distal GC is still controversial.Methods:A total of 920 distal GC patients receiving at least a D2 lymph node dissection in Department of Gastric Cancer,Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were enrolled in this study,of whom,243 patients also had the 14 v dissected.Other 677 patients without 14 v dissection were used for comparison.Results:Forty-five(18.5%) patients had 14 v metastasis.There was no significant difference in 3-year overall survival(OS) rate between patients with and without 14 v dissection.Following stratified analysis,in TNM stages I,II,IIIa and IV,14 v dissection did not affect 3-year OS;in contrast,patients with 14 v dissection had a significant higher 3-year OS than those without in TNM stages IIIb and IIIc.In multivariate analysis,14 v dissection was found to be an independent prognostic factor for GC patients with TNM stage IIIb/IIIc disease [hazard ratio(HR),1.568;95% confidence interval(CI):1.186-2.072;P=0.002].GC patients with 14 v dissection had a significant lower locoregional,especially lymph node,recurrence rate than those without 14 v dissection(11.7 % vs.21.1%,P=0.035).Conclusions:Adding 14 v to D2 lymphadenectomy may be associated with improved 3-year OS for distal GC staged TNM Ⅲb/Ⅲc. | Yuexiang Liang Liangliang Wu Xiaona Wang Xuewei Ding Hongmin Liu Bin Li Baogui Wang Yuan Pan Rupeng Zhang Ning Liu Han Liang | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,6: | 22 |

| 12 | On-road pollutant emission and fuel consumption characteristics of buses in Beijing显示文摘On-road emission and fuel consumption (FC) levels for Euro III and IV buses fueled on diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) were compared,and emission and FC characteristics of buses were analyzed based on approximately 28,700 groups of instantaneous data obtained in Beijing using a portable emissions measurement system (PEMS).The experimental results revealed that NOx and PM emissions from CNG buses were decreased by 72.0% and 82.3% respectively,compared with Euro IV diesel buses.Similarly,these emissions were reduced by 75.2% and 96.3% respectively,compared with Euro III diesel buses.In addition,CO 2,CO,HC,NOx,PM emissions and FC of Euro IV diesel buses were reduced by 26.4%,75.2%,73.6%,11.4%,79.1%,and 26.0%,respectively,relative to Euro III diesel buses.The CO 2,CO,HC,NOx,PM emissions and FC factors all decreased with bus speed increased,while increased as bus acceleration increased.At the same time,the emission/FC rates as well as the emission/FC factors exhibited a strong positive correlation with the vehicle specific power (VSP).They all were the lowest when VSP < 0,and then rapidly increased as VSP increased.Furthermore,both the emission/FC rates and emission/FC factors were the highest at accelerations,higher at cruise speeds,and the lowest at decelerations for non-idling buses.These results can provide a base reference to further estimate bus emission and FC inventories in Beijing. | Aijuan Wang Yunshan Ge Jianwei Tan Mingliang Fu Asad Naeem Shah Yan Ding Hong Zhao Bin Liang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,3: | 19 |

| 14 | Rhizobacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Strain SQRT3-Mediated Induced Systemic Resistance Controls Bacterial Wilt of Tomato显示文摘Tomato bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum seriously threats tomato growth in tropical and temperate regions around the world.This study reported an antagonistic bacterial strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain SQRT3, isolated from the rhizosphere soil of tomato plants, which strongly inhibited in vitro growth of pathogenic R.solanacearum.The suppression of tomato bacterial wilt by strain SQRT3 was demonstrated under greenhouse conditions.Additionally, induced systemic resistance(ISR) in tomato as one of the potential disease suppression mechanisms was investigated in the plants inoculated with the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3.The results showed that strain SQRT3 applied with R.solanacearum by drenching significantly reduced tomato bacterial wilt by 68.1% biocontrol efficiency(BE) and suppressed the R.solanacearum populations in the rhizosphere soil compared to the control only drenched with R.solanacearum.The BE of the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3 against tomato wilt increased to 84.1%by root-dipping.Tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum showed increases in activities of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase compared with other treatments.The application of strain SQRT3 reduced membrane lipid peroxidation in tomato leaves.The expressions of marker genes for jasmonic acid-and salicylic acid-dependent signaling pathways were faster and stronger in tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum than in plants treated with either R.solanacearum or strain SQRT3 alone.Collectively, the findings indicated that strain SQRT3 can effectively control tomato wilt. | LI Chunyu HU Weicong PAN Bin LIU Yan YUAN Saifei DING Yuanyuan LI Rong ZHENG Xinyan SHEN Biao SHEN Qirong | 2017 | Pedosphere2017,27,6: | 18 |

| 17 | Small molecule inhibitors reveal allosteric regulation of USP14 via steric blockade显示文摘The ubiquitin system is important for drug discovery,and the discovery of selective small-molecule inhibitors of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) remains an active yet extremely challenging task. With a few exceptions,previously developed inhibitors have been found to bind the evolutionarily conserved catalytic centers of DUBs,resulting in poor selectivity. The small molecule IU1 was the first-ever specific inhibitor identified and exhibited surprisingly excellent selectivity for USP14 over other DUBs. However,the molecular mechanism for this selectivity was elusive. Herein,we report the high-resolution co-crystal structures of the catalytic domain of USP14 bound to IU1 and three IU1 derivatives. All the structures of these complexes indicate that IU1 and its analogs bind to a previously unknown steric binding site in USP14,thus blocking the access of the C-terminus of ubiquitin to the active site of USP14 and abrogating USP14 activity. Importantly,this steric site in USP14 is very unique,as suggested by structural alignments of USP14 with several known DUB X-ray structures. These results,in conjunction with biochemical characterization,Indicate a coherent steric blockade mechanism for U5P14 inhibition by compounds of the IU series. | 19 | Characterization of acid-and pepsin-soluble collagens from spines and skulls of skipjack tuna(Katsuwonus pelamis)显示文摘Acid-soluble collagen(ASC) and pepsin-soluble collagen(PSC) from the spine(ASC-SP and PSC-SP) and skull(ASC-SK and PSC-SK) of the skipjack tuna, Katsuwonus pelamis, were successfully isolated and characterized. The yields of ASC-SP, PSC-SP, ASC-SK and PSC-SK were(2.47 ± 0.39)%,(5.62 ± 0.82)%,(3.57 ± 0.40)%, and(6.71 ± 0.81)%, respectively, on the basis of dry weight. The four collagens contained Gly(330.2-339.1 residues/1 000 residues) as the major amino acid, and their imino acid contents were between 168.8 and 178.2 residues/1 000 residues. Amino acid composition, SDS-PAGE, and FTIR investigations confirmed that ASC-SP and ASC-SK were mainly composed of type I collagen, and had higher contents of high-molecular weight cross-links than those of PSC-SK and PSC-SP. The FTIR investigation also certified all the collagens had triple helical structure. The denaturation temperatures of ASC-SK, PSC-SK, ASC-SP, and PSC-SP were 17.8, 16.6, 17.6, and 16.5 °C, respectively. All isolated collagens were soluble at acidic pH(1-5) and lost their solubilities when the NaCl concentration was above 2%(W/V). | 20 | Association between large artery atherosclerosis and cerebral microbleeds:a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to provide evidence that biomarkers of large artery atherosclerosis,including arterial stenosis and greater carotid intima-media thickness(cIMT),may serve as clinical markers of subclinical haemorrhage-prone cerebral small vessel disease,reflected by cerebral microbleeds(CMBs).Methods:We searched PubMed,MEDLINE,Web of Science,EMBASE and the Cochrane Library to identify relevant studies published before 1 July 2016.The association between arterial stenosis and CMBs was estimated by the OR and 95%CI.The association of cIMT and CMBs was calculated using the standardised mean difference(SMD).Heterogeneity and publication bias were explored.Results:8 studies including a total of 7160 participants were pooled in the meta-analysis.6 of the included studies were cross-sectional,except that 2 were prospective.We found a significant association between arterial stenosis>50%and the presence of CMBs(OR 1.95,95%CI 1.13 to 3.36,I2=56.1%).A fixed-effects model suggested that patients with CMBs were more likely to have a greater cIMT(SMD 0.20,95%CI 0.11 to 0.28,I2=24.7%).Conclusions:This systematic review and metaanalysis found that there is a relationship between large artery atherosclerosis and CMBs.Future studies are needed to confirm the impact of atherosclerosis on the CMBs,which may have potential therapeutic implications. | Lingling Ding Yuehui Hong Bin Peng | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,1: | 13 |
