1Neurodegeneration:An early event of diabetic retinopathy显示文摘Diabetic retinopathy(DR) has been classically considered to be a microcirculatory disease of the retina caused by the deleterious metabolic effects of hyperglycemia per se and the metabolic pathways triggered by hyperglycemia.However,retinal neurodegeneration is already present before any microcirculatory abnormalities can be detected in ophthalmoscopic examination.In other words,retinal neurodegeneration is an early event in the pathogenesis of DR which predates and participates in the microcirculatory abnormalities that occur in DR.Therefore,the study of the mechanisms that lead to neurodegeneration will be essential to identify new therapeutic targets in the early stages of DR.Elevated levels of glutamate and the overexpression of the renin-angiotensin-system play an essential role in the neurodegenerative process that occurs in diabetic retina.Among neuroprotective factors,pigment epithelial derived factor,somatostatin and erythropoietin seem to be the most relevant and these will be considered in this review.Nevertheless,it should be noted that the balance between neurotoxic and neuroprotective factors rather than levels of neurotoxic factors alone will determine the presence or absence of retinal neurodegeneration in the diabetic eye.New strategies,based on either the delivery of neuroprotective agents or the blockade of neurotoxic factors,are currently being tested in experimental models and in clinical pilot studies.Whether these novel therapies will eventually supplement or prevent the need for laser photocoagulation or vitrectomy awaits the results of additional clinical research.Marta Villarroel Andreea Ciudin Cristina Hernández Rafael Simó 2010World Journal of Diabetes2010,1,2:41
2Optimization and design of an aircraft's morphing wing-tip demonstrator for drag reduction at low speeds, Part II- Experimental validation using Infra-Red transition measurement from Wind Tunnel tests显示文摘In the present paper, an ‘in-house' genetic algorithm was numerically and experimentally validated. The genetic algorithm was applied to an optimization problem for improving the aerodynamic performances of an aircraft wing tip through upper surface morphing. The optimization was performed for 16 flight cases expressed in terms of various combinations of speeds, angles of attack and aileron deflections. The displacements resulted from the optimization were used during the wind tunnel tests of the wing tip demonstrator for the actuators control to change the upper surface shape of the wing. The results of the optimization of the flow behavior for the airfoil morphing upper-surface problem were validated with wind tunnel experimental transition results obtained with infra-red Thermography on the wing-tip demonstrator. 3Optimization and design of an aircraft's morphing wing-tip demonstrator for drag reduction at low speed, Part Ⅰ–Aerodynamic optimization using genetic, bee colony and gradient descent algorithms显示文摘In this paper, an ‘in-house' genetic algorithm is described and applied to an optimization problem for improving the aerodynamic performances of an aircraft wing tip through upper surface morphing. The algorithm's performances were studied from the convergence point of view, in accordance with design conditions. The algorithm was compared to two other optimization methods,namely the artificial bee colony and a gradient method, for two optimization objectives, and the results of the optimizations with each of the three methods were plotted on response surfaces obtained with the Monte Carlo method, to show that they were situated in the global optimum region. The optimization results for 16 wind tunnel test cases and 2 objective functions were presented. 4PillCam Colon 2 capsule in patients unable or unwilling to undergo colonoscopy显示文摘AIM: To assess the feasibility, accuracy and acceptability of PillCam Colon 2 in detection of significant lesions in colorectal cancer risk patients, unable or unwilling to perform colonoscopy. METHODS: This is a prospective, single center study using the second generation of PillCam Colon capsule. In all patients the readers were instructed to review the entire colon capsule endoscopy(CCE) examination using Rapid 7 software and additionally to note significant extra-colonic findings. Colonic significant findings were described according to European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy guidelines. CCE procedure completion rate, level of bowel preparation and rate of adverse events were assessed. RESULTS: A total of 70 patients at risk of colorectal cancer were enrolled in the study. In three patients the procedure failed because the capsule was not functioning when entered the colon. PillCam Colon 2 showed positive findings in 23(34%, 95%CI: 21.6%-44.1%) of the remaining 67 patients. Six patients were diagnosedwith tumors: 4 with colon cancers, 1 with gastric cancer and 1 with a small bowel cancer. The capsule findings were confirmed after surgery in all these patients. The capsule excretion rate in twelve hours was 77% with 54 patients having a complete examination. The rectum was not explored during CCE procedure, in 16 patients(23%, 95%CI: 13.7%-34.1%). Every patient accepted CCE as an alternative exploration tool and 65/70(93%) agreed to have another future control by CCE. No complications were reported during or after CCE examination. 5结合GC-MS的分子蒸馏富集柚皮精油抗氧化成分的研究显示文摘分子蒸馏技术富集柚皮精油的抗氧化成分,经两次分子蒸馏后,得到两种重馏分(1RH、2RH)、两种中间馏分(1DM、2DM)和一种轻馏分(1DL)。分子蒸馏过程中,采用气相色谱-质谱联用技术(GC-MS)实时分析了各馏分的化学组成,确定了33种化合物。通过测定各馏分清除DPPH·和ABTS+·的能力得知,香叶醇和β-石竹烯是主要的抗氧化物质,被富集到重馏分(2RH)中,浓缩比分别为3.7和4.3,同时D-柠檬烯在轻馏分(1DL)中得到明显富集,浓缩比达4.9。抗氧化实验表明重馏分(2RH)的抗氧化能力较原油得到了明显提升,清除DPPH·和ABTS+·的能力分别比原油提高了60%和75%。分子蒸馏技术不仅用于分离脂肪和脂肪酸,而且在植物精油精制及提高附加值方向也具有广阔的应用前景。王芳 岳朝敏 Andreea David 林洁茹 何宇城 邓刚 2018中国粮油学报2018,33,7:7
6A new non-linear vortex lattice method:Applications to wing aerodynamic optimizations显示文摘This paper presents a new non-linear formulation of the classical Vortex Lattice Method(VLM) approach for calculating the aerodynamic properties of lifting surfaces. The method accounts for the effects of viscosity, and due to its low computational cost, it represents a very good tool to perform rapid and accurate wing design and optimization procedures. The mathematical model is constructed by using two-dimensional viscous analyses of the wing span-wise sections,according to strip theory, and then coupling the strip viscous forces with the forces generated by the vortex rings distributed on the wing camber surface, calculated with a fully three-dimensional vortex lifting law. The numerical results obtained with the proposed method are validated with experimental data and show good agreement in predicting both the lift and pitching moment, as well as in predicting the wing drag. 8超临界CO2夹带乙醇萃取裂殖壶藻油脂的工艺研究显示文摘研究了超临界CO2夹带乙醇流体从裂殖壶藻Schizochytrium sp.中提取富含DHA油脂的新工艺。基于气液相平衡性质,确定了夹带剂乙醇的添加范围,并对提取过程进行动力学分析,确定了二氧化碳的使用量。通过中心组合设计的响应面优化试验,获得了最佳提取工艺条件:温度52℃、压力38 MPa、乙醇摩尔比0.04。该条件下,微藻油脂的回收率约为88.2%,显著高于纯超临界CO 2萃取的回收率(71.9%)。根据Peng-Robinson方程考察了混合流体的密度变化对油脂溶解度的影响,部分解释了操作条件对油脂回收率的影响。脂肪酸组成分析显示,新工艺得到的油脂中的DHA质量分数约为39.9%,略高于传统工艺。由此可知,超临界CO 2夹带乙醇流体是一种极性范围广、溶解能力强的绿色提取介质,非常适用于中性微藻油脂的提取。李佩雷 李红娜 敬科举 林洁茹 Andreea David 邓刚 2019中国粮油学报2019,34,11:4
9Liver transplantation for Wilson disease显示文摘The aim of this paper is to review the current status of liver transplantation (LT) for Wilson disease (WD), focusing on indications and controversies, especially in patients with neuropsychiatric disease, and on identification of acute liver failure (ALF) cases related to WD. LT remains the treatment of choice for patients with ALF, as initial presentation of WD or when anti-copper agents are stopped, and for patients with chronic liver disease progressed to cirrhosis, unresponsive to chelating medications or not timely treated with copper chelating agents. The indication for LT in WD remains highly debated in patients with progressive neurological deterioration and failure to improve with appropriate medical treatment. In case of Wilsonian ALF, early identification is key as mortality is 100% without emergency LT. As many of the copper metabolism parameters are believed to be less reliable in ALF, simple biochemical tests have been proposed for diagnosis of acute WD with good sensitivity and specificity. LT corrects copper metabolism and complications resulting from WD with excellent 1 and 5 year survival. Living related liver transplantation represents an alternative to deceased donor LT with excellent long-term survival, without disease recurrence. Future options mayinclude hepatocyte transplantation and gene therapy. Although both of these have shown promising results in animal models of WD, prospective human studies are much needed to demonstrate their long-term beneficial effects and their potential to replace the need for medical therapy and LT in patients with WD.Andreea M Catana Valentina Medici 2012World Journal of Hepatology2012,4,1:4

12Epidemiological trends in acute pancreatitis:A retrospective cohort in a tertiary center over a seven year period显示文摘BACKGROUND Acute pancreatitis(AP)remains a major cause of hospitalization and mortality with important health-related costs worldwide.Using an electronic database of a large tertiary center,we estimated the incidence,etiology,severity and costs of hospitalized AP cases in southern Romania.AIM To estimate the incidence,cost and tobacco usage of hospitalized AP cases in southern Romania and to update and upgrade the knowledge we have on the etiology,severity(in regard to Revised Atlanta Classification),outcome,morphology and local complications of AP.METHODS We performed an electronic health care records search on AP patients treated at Emergency University Hospital of Bucharest(Spitalul Universitar de UrgențăBucurești)between 2015 and 2022.The incidence,etiology,and severity were calculated;potential risk factors were evaluated,and the hospitalization costs of AP were documented and analyzed.The cohort of this study is part of the BUCharest-Acute Pancreatitis Index registry.RESULTS A total of 947 consecutive episodes of AP where the patients were hospitalized in the gastroenterology department were analyzed,with 79.45%as 1st episode and the rest recurrent.The majority of the patients were males(68.9%).Alcoholic(45.7%),idiopathic(16.4%)and biliary(15.2%)were the main causes.The incidence was estimated at 29.2 episodes/100000 people.The median length of stay was 7 d.The median daily cost was 747.96 RON(165 EUR).There was a high prevalence of active tobacco smokers(68.5%).The prevalence of severe disease was 11.1%.The admission rate to the intensive care unit was 4.6%,with a mortality rate of 38.6%.The overall mortality was 5.5%.CONCLUSION We estimated the incidence of AP at 29.2 episodes that required hospitalization per 100000 people.The majority of our cases were found in males(68.9%)and were related to alcohol abuse(45.7%).Out of the cases we were able to find data regarding tobacco usage,the majority were active smokers(68.5%).Most patients had a mild course(54.4%),with a mortality rate of 5.5%.Interstitial AP prevailed(45.3%).The median daily cost of hospitalization was 747.96 RON(165 EUR).Andreea Irina Ghiță Mihai Radu Pahomeanu Lucian Negreanu 2023World Journal of Methodology2023,13,3:2
13Physiological effects of amyloid precursor protein and its derivatives on neural stem cell biology and signaling pathways involved显示文摘The pathological implication of amyloid precursor protein(APP)in Alzheimer’s disease has been widely documented due to its involvement in the generation of amyloid-β peptide.However,the physiological functions of APP are still poorly understood.APP is considered a multimodal protein due to its role in a wide variety of processes,both in the embryo and in the adult brain.Specifically,APP seems to play a key role in the proliferation,differentiation and maturation of neural stem cells.In addition,APP can be processed through two canonical processing pathways,generating different functionally active fragments:soluble APP-α,soluble APP-β,amyloid-β peptide and the APP intracellular C-terminal domain.These fragments also appear to modulate various functions in neural stem cells,including the processes of proliferation,neurogenesis,gliogenesis or cell death.However,the molecular mechanisms involved in these effects are still unclear.In this review,we summarize the physiological functions of APP and its main proteolytic derivatives in neural stem cells,as well as the possible signaling pathways that could be implicated in these effects.The knowledge of these functions and signaling pathways involved in the onset or during the development of Alzheimer’s disease is essential to advance the understanding of the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease,and in the search for potential therapeutic targets.Raquel Coronel Charlotte Palmer Adela Bernabeu-Zornoza María Monteagudo Andreea Rosca Alberto Zambrano Isabel Liste 2019Neural Regeneration Research2019,14,10:2
