1Response of Wheat to Tillage Plus Rice Residue and Nitrogen Management in Rice-Wheat System显示文摘Zero tillage with residues retention and optimizing nitrogen fertilization are important strategies to improve soil quality and wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) yield in rice(Oryza sativa L.)-wheat system. Field experiments were conducted on silty clay soil(Hyperthermic, and Typic Torrifluvents) in D. I. Khan, Pakistan, to explore the impact of six tillage methods(zero tillage straw retained(ZTsr), ZT straw burnt(ZTsb), reduced tillage straw incorporated(RTsi, including tiller and rotavator), RT straw burnt(RTsb), conventional tillage straw incorporated(CTsi, including disc plow, tiller, rotavator, and leveling operations), CT straw burnt(CTsb)) and five nitrogen rates, i.e., 0, 100, 150, 200, and 250 kg ha-1 on wheat yield. Mean values for N revealed that spikes m-2, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight(g), and grain yield(kg ha-1) were significantly higher at 200 kg N ha-1 in both the years as well as mean over years than all other treatments. Mean values for tillage revealed that ZTsr produced highest number of spikes m-2 among tillage methods. However, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight, and grain yield were higher in tillage methods with either straw retained/incorporated than tillage methods with straw burnt. Interaction effects were significant in year 1 and in mean over years regarding spikes m-2, 1 000-grain weight, total soil organic matter(SOM), and total soil N(TSN). ZTsr produced the most spikes m-2 and 1 000-grain weight at 200 kg N ha-1. ZTsr also produced higher SOM and TSN at 200-250 kg N ha-1 at the end of 2 yr cropping. 3Antimicrobial activities of the rhizome extract of Zingiber zerumbet Linn显示文摘Objective:To investigate antimicrobial effects of ethanolic extract of Zingiber zerumbet(Z.zerumbet)(L.)Smith and its chloroform and petroleum ether soluble fractions against pathogenic bacteria and fungi.Methods:The fresh rhizomes of Zingiber zerumbet were extracted in cold with ethanol(4.0 L)after concentration.The crude ethanol extract was fractionated by petroleum ether and chloroform to form a suspension of ethanol extract(15.0 g),petroleum ether fraction(6.6 g)and chloroform soluble fraction(5.0 g).The crude ethanol extract and its petroleum ether and chloroform fractions were evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activity against thirteen pathogenic bacteria and three fungi by the disc diffusion method.Commercially available kanamycin(30μg/disc)was used as standard disc and blank discs impregnated with the respective solvents were used as negative control.Results:At a concentration of 400μg/disc,all the samples showed mild to moderate antibacterial and antifungal activity and produced the zone of inhibition ranging from 6 mm to 10 mm.Among the tested samples,the crude ethanol extract showed the highest activity against Vibrio parahemolyticus(V.parahemolyticus).The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of the crude ethanol extract and its fractions were within the value of 128-256μg/mL against two Gram positive and four Gram negative bacteria and all the samples showed the lowest MIC value against V.parahemolyticus(128μg/mL).Conclusions:It can be concluded that,potent antibacterial and antifungal phytochemicals are present in ethanol extract of Z.zerumbet(L.).Golam Kader Farjana Nikkon Mohammad Abdur Rashid Tanzima Yeasmin 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2011,1,5:4

7Potentially harmful metals,and health risk evaluation in groundwater of Mardan,Pakistan:Application of geostatistical approach and geographic information system显示文摘This study investigates the values of pH,total dissolved solids(TDS),elevation,oxidative reduction potential(ORP),temperature,and depth,while the concentrations of Br,and potentially harmful metals(PHMs)such as Cr,Ni,Cd,Mn,Cu,Pb,Co,Zn,and Fe in the groundwater samples.Moreover,geographic information system(GIS),XLSTAT,and IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software were used for spatial distribution modeling,principal component analysis(PCA),cluster analysis(CA),and Quantile-Quantile(Q-Q)plotting to determine groundwater pollution sources,similarity index,and normal distribution reference line for the selected parameters.The mean values of pH,TDS,elevation,ORP,temperature,depth,and Br were 7.2,322 mg/L,364 m,188 mV,29.6℃,70 m,0.20 mg/L,and PHMs like Cr,Ni,Cd,Mn,Cu,Pb,Co,Zn,and Fe were 0.38,0.26,0.08,0.27,0.36,0.22,0.04,0.43 and 0.86 mg/L,respectively.PHMs including Cr(89%),Cd(43%),Mn(23%),Pb(79%),Co(20%),and Fe(91%)exceeded the guideline values set by the world health organization(WHO).The significant R^(2)values of PCA for selected parameters were also determined(0.62,0.67,0.78,0.73,0.60,0.87,-0.50,0.69,0.70,0.74,-0.50,0.70,0.67,0.79,0.59,and-0.55,respectively).PCA revealed three geochemical processes such as geogenic,anthropogenic,and reducing conditions.The mineral phases of Cd(OH)_(2),Fe(OH)_(3),FeOOH,Mn_(3)O_(4),Fe_(2)O_(3),MnOOH,Pb(OH)_(2),Mn(OH)_(2),MnO_(2),and Zn(OH)_(2)(-3.7,3.75,9.7,-5.8,8.9,-3.6,2.2,-4.6,-7.7,-0.9,and 0.003,respectively)showed super-saturation and under-saturation conditions.Health risk assessment(HRA)values for PHMs were also calculated and the values of hazard quotient(HQ),and hazard indices(HI)for the entire study area were increased in the following order:Cd>Ni>Cu>Pb>Mn>Zn>Cr.Relatively higher HQ and HI values of Ni,Cd,Pb,and Cu were greater than one showing unsuitability of groundwater for domestic,agriculture,and drinking purposes.The long-term ingestion of groundwater could also cause severe health concerns such as kidney,brain dysfunction,liver,stomach problems,and even cancer.Abdur Rashid Muhammad Ayub Asif Javed Sardar Khan Xubo Gao Chengcheng Li Zahid Ullah Tariq Sardar Juma Muhammad Shahla Nazneen 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,3:2
8Bioassay-guided isolation of novel and selective urease inhibitors from Diospyros lotus显示文摘Two new dimeric naphthoquinones, 5′,8′-dihydroxy-6,6′-dimethyl-7,3′-binaphthyl-1,4,1′,4′-tetraone(1; Di-naphthodiospyrol D) and 5′,8′-dihydroxy-5,8-dimethoxy-6,6′-dimethyl-7,3′-binaphthyl-1,4,1′,4′-tetraone(2; Di-naphthodiospyrol E), along with known naphthoquinones diospyrin(3) and 8-hydroxy diospyrin(4) were isolated from the chloroform fraction of extract of Diospyros lotus roots. Their structures were elucidated by advanced spectroscopic analyses, including HSQC, HMBC, NOESY, and J-resolved NMR experiments. The fractions and compounds 1-4 were evaluated for urease activity and phosphodiesterase-Ⅰ, carbonic anhydrase-Ⅱ and α-chymotrypsin enzyme inhibitory activities. Compounds 1 and 2 and their corresponding fractions showed significant and selective inhibitory effects on urease activities. The IC_(50) values of 1 and 2 were 260.4 ± 6.37 and 381.4 ± 4.80 μmol·L-1, respectively, using thiourea(IC_(50) = 21 ± 0.11 μmol·L^(-1)) as the standard inhibitor. 9On the radar frequency dependence of polar mesosphere summer echoes显示文摘Polar mesosphere summer echoes(PMSEs)are very strong radar echoes in the polar mesopause in local summer.Here we present the frequency dependence of the volume reflectivity and the effect of energetic particle precipitation on modulated PMSEs by using PMSEs observations carried out by European Incoherent SCATter(EISCAT)heating equipment simultaneously with very high frequency(VHF)radar and ultra high frequency(UHF)radar on 12 July 2007.According to the experimental observations,the PMSEs occurrence rate at VHF was much higher than that at UHF,and the altitude of the PMSEs maximum observed at VHF was higher than that at UHF.Overlapping regions were observed by VHF radar between high energetic particle precipitation and the PMSEs.In addition,highfrequency heating had a very limited impact on PMSEs when the UHF electron density was enhanced because of energetic particle precipitation.In addition,an updated qualitative method was used to study the relationship between volume reflectivity and frequency.The volume reflectivity was found to be inversely proportional to the fourth power of radar frequency.The theoretical and experimental results provide a definitive data foundation for further analysis and investigation of the physical mechanism of PMSEs.ShuCan Ge HaiLong Li Lin Meng MaoYan Wang Tong Xu Safi Ullah Abdur Rauf Abdel Hannachid 2020Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,6:2

11Sedative and antinociceptive activities of two new sesquiterpenes isolated from Ricinus communis显示文摘Two new sesquiterpenes, trivially named ricinusoids A(1) and ricinusoids B(2), were isolated from ethyl acetate fraction of Ricinus communis. The structures of new compounds were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic techniques, including 1 D-and 2 D-NMR, UV, IR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The compounds(1-2) were also assessed for in-vivo sedative and analgesic like effects in open field and acetic acid induced writhing tests respectively at 5, 10, and 20 mg·kg^(–1) i.p. Pretreatment of both test compounds caused significant(P ≤ 0.05) reduction in locomotive activity like sedative agents and abdominal constrictions like analgesics. 13Effectiveness of stocking Sparus macrocephalus fry in situ in the East China Sea显示文摘The sea area surrounding Baishishan Island has abundant fishery resources because of its plentiful food and rocky reefs that provide refuge from predators.However,overfishing has occurred in many areas and some species’local populations need to be replenished through stocking programs.This case study,using Sparus microcephalus as the test species,designed and analyzed detailed stocking strategies to improve the survival ratio and control the active range of the released fishes.Controlled variables included release location,release time,and tidal level.Two stocking strategies were designed,executed,and evaluated for comparison.A traditional stocking method was applied to the high flow area of Baishishan Island in Xiangshan Bay,East China Sea.The released fry were transported by boat and released to the sea using buckets.Released fish were traced using plastic tags.The average distance of the 19 recaptured fry from the release point was 7.6 km with 52.9%mortality rate.The distance at recapture and mortality rate among recaptured individuals showed that the traditional releasing method was not successful.An in situ stocking method was used in a low tide area and natural process was imitated to decrease the stress response and promote physiological adaptation.The purpose of this method was to prolong the release process applying temporary net cages at the release location,which resulted in a regional distribution of the released fish and possibly improving the food availability.A new Sr+tagging technique was adopted to evaluate the release effect and quantify comparative release data.Only 1 fish among the 354 caught was found farther than 1 km from the release point in the following 6 months.The results validated the promotion of the new stocking technique.Qingsong Hu Ning Bao Hafiz Abdur Rahman Yazhou Jiang Shouyu Zhang Jun Li Jikang Shentu 2019Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,2:2

16Short Response of Spring Wheat to Tillage, Residue Management and Split Nitrogen Application in a Rice-Wheat System显示文摘A field experiment was conducted to study the impact of tillage, crop residue management and nitrogen(N) splitting on spring wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) yield over 2 yr(2010-2012) in a rice(Oryza sativa L.)-wheat system in northwestern Pakistan. The experiment was conducted as split plot arranged in randomized complete blocks design with three replications. Treatments comprised six tillage and residue managements: zero tillage straw retained(ZTsr), zero tillage straw burnt(ZTsb), reduced tillage straw incorporated(RTsi), reduced tillage straw burnt(RTsb), conventional tillage straw incorporated(CTsi), and conventional tillage straw burnt(CTsb) as main plots and N(200 kg ha-1) was applied as split form viz., control(no nitrogen & no splitting, N0S0); 2 splits of total N, half at sowing and half at the 1st irrigation(i.e., 20 d after sowing(DAS))(NS1); 3 splits of total N, 1/3 at sowing, 1/3 at the 1st irrigation, and 1/3 at the 2nd irrigation(NS2); 4 splits of total N, 1/4 at sowing, 1/4 at the 1st irrigation, 1/4 at the 2nd irrigation(45 DAS), and 1/4 at the 3rd irrigation(70 DAS)(NS3); and 4 splits of total N, 1/4 at the 1st irrigation, 1/4 at the 2nd irrigation, 1/4 at the 3rd irrigation, and 1/4 at the 4th irrigation(95DAS)(NS4) as sub plots. The results showed that the most pikes m-2, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight, grain yield, and N use efficiency(NUE) were obtained at zero tillage, straw retained and 4 splits application of total N(i.e., at sowing 20, 45 and 70 d after sowing). 17Intelligent Forecasting Model of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak Empowered with Deep Extreme Learning Machine显示文摘An epidemic is a quick and widespread disease that threatens many lives and damages the economy.The epidemic lifetime should be accurate so that timely and remedial steps are determined.These include the closing of borders schools,suspension of community and commuting services.The forecast of an outbreak effectively is a very necessary but difficult task.A predictive model that provides the best possible forecast is a great challenge for machine learning with only a few samples of training available.This work proposes and examines a prediction model based on a deep extreme learning machine(DELM).This methodology is used to carry out an experiment based on the recent Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.An optimized prediction model that has been developed,namely DELM,is demonstrated to be able to make a prediction that is fairly best.The results show that the new methodology is useful in developing an appropriate forecast when the samples are far from abundant during the critical period of the disease.During the investigation,it is shown that the proposed approach has the highest accuracy rate of 97.59%with 70%of training,30%of test and validation.Simulation results validate the prediction effectiveness of the proposed scheme.Muhammad Adnan Khan Sagheer Abbas Khalid Masood Khan Mohammed AAl Ghamdi Abdur Rehman 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,9:1
