| 2 | Glycoprotein biomarkers for the detection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Pancreatic cancer(Pa C) shows a clear tendency to increase in the next years and therefore represents an important health and social challenge. Currently, there is an important need to find biomarkers for PaC early detection because the existing ones are not useful for that purpose. Recent studies have indicated that there is a large window of time for PaC early detection, which opens the possibility to find early biomarkers that could greatly improve the dismal prognosis of this tumor. The present manuscript reviews the state of the art of the existing PaC biomarkers. It focuses on the anomalous glycosylation process and its role in PaC. Glycan structures of glycoconjugates such as glycoproteins are modified in tumors and these modifications can be detected in biological fluids of the cancer patients. Several studies have found serum glycoproteins with altered glycan chains in PaC patients, but they have not shown enough specificity for PaC. To find more specific cancer glycoproteins we propose to analyze the glycan moieties of a battery of glycoproteins that have been reported to increase in PaC tissues and that can also be found in serum. | 3 | Bayés syndrome and acute cardioembolic ischemic stroke显示文摘Bayés syndrome is an under-recognized clinical condition characterized by advanced interatrial block.Bayés syndrome is a subclinical disease that manifests electrocardiographically as a prolonged P wave duration>120 ms with biphasic morphology±in the inferior leads.The clinical relevance of Bayés syndrome lies in the fact that is a clear arrhythmological syndrome and has a strong association with supraventricular arrhythmias,particularly atypical atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation.Likewise,Bayés syndrome has been recently identified as a novel risk factor for non-lacunar cardioembolic ischemic stroke and vascular dementia.Advanced interatrial block can be a risk for embolic stroke due to its known sequelae of left atrial dilation,left atrial electromechanical dysfunction or atrial tachyarrhythmia(paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation),conditions predisposing to thromboembolism.Bayés syndrome may be responsible for some of the unexplained ischemic strokes and shall be considered and investigated as a possible cause for cryptogenetic stroke.In summary,Bayés syndrome is a poorly recognized cardiac rhythm disorder with important cardiologic and neurologic implications. | Adrià Arboix Lucía Martí Sebastien Dorison María José Sánchez | 2017 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2017，5，3： | 3 |
| 4 | Predictive clinical features of cardioembolic infarction in patients aged 85 years and older显示文摘Objective To assess predictive clinical factors of cardioembolic infarction in very old patients(85 years of age and older).Methods Prospective hospital-based stroke registry('The Sagrat Cor Hospital of Barcelona Stroke Registry')is an acute-care teaching hospital in Barcelona,Catalonia,Spain.From 956 first-ever cardioembolic stroke patients included in the stroke registry over a 24-year period,639 were younger than 85 years of age and 317 were 85 years or older(mean age:88.9 years).Demographics,clinical characteristics,risk factors and early outcome were compared.Predictors of cardioembolic infarction in the oldest age group were assessed by multivariate analyses.Results In a logistic regression model based on demographics,risk factors,clinical features and complications,female gender(odds ratio[OR]=1.74,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.27–2.39),heart failure(OR=2.27,95%CI:1.46–3.56),altered consciousness(OR=1.76,95%CI:1.28–2.42),and infectious complications(OR=2.01,95%CI:1.39–2.91)were predictors of cardioembolic stroke in the oldest age group.By contrast,heavy smoking,heart valve disease,hypertension,headache,early seizures,sensory deficit,and involvement of the posterior cerebral artery were independently associated with cardioembolic stroke in the younger group.Conclusions Identification of a differential clinical profile of cardioembolic stroke between patients aged 85 years or more and those younger than 85 years helps clinicians to the optimal management of ischemic infarction in the oldest segment of the population. | Ana Maria Carbajo-García Jonatan Cortés AdriàArboix Joan Massons Laura Díez Enric Vergés Jordi Arboix-Alió Luís García-Eroles | 2019 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2019，16，11： | 3 |
| 5 | Cannabidiol does not display drug abuse potential in mice behavior显示文摘Recent evidence suggests that cannabidiol(CBD)may be useful for the treatment of different neuropsychiatric disorders.However,some controversy regarding its profile as a drug of abuse hampers the further development of basic and clinical studies.In this study,the behavioral profile of CBD as a potential drug of abuse was evaluated in C57BL/6J mice.Reinforcing properties of CBD(15,30,and 60 mg/kg;i.p.)were assessed using the conditioned place preference(CPP)paradigm.Spontaneous withdrawal symptoms and motor activity in the open field were examined 12 h after the last CBD administration(30 mg/kg/12 h,i.p.,6 days).CBD plasma concentrations were measured at 2,4,8,12,and 24 h after the administration of CBD(30 mg/kg,i.p.).Furthermore,an oral CBD selfadministration paradigm(50 mg/kg;CBD water-soluble 1.2 mg/mL)was performed to evaluate whether this drug produced any effects on motivation compared with a non-reinforcing substance(water).We found that CBD failed to induce CPP,withdrawal symptoms,or altered motor behavior 12 h after its administration.At that time,only traces of CBD were detected,ensuring that the lack of alterations in somatic signs and locomotor activity was not due to residual drug in plasma.Interestingly,mice displayed similar motivation and consumption of CBD and water.Taken together,these results show that CBD lacks activity as a drug of abuse and should stimulate the development of the basic and clinical studies needed to elucidate its potential therapeutic use for the treatment of neuropsychiatric and drug use disorders. | Adrián Viudez-Martínez María S.García-Gutiérrez Juan Medrano-Relinque Carmen M.Navarrón Francisco Navarrete Jorge Manzanares | 2019 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2019，40，3： | 2 |
