| 2 | BING: Binarized normed gradients for objectness estimation at 300fps显示文摘Training a generic objectness measure to produce object proposals has recently become of significant interest. We observe that generic objects with well-defined closed boundaries can be detected by looking at the norm of gradients, with a suitable resizing of their corresponding image windows to a small fixed size. Based on this observation and computational reasons, we propose to resize the window to 8 × 8 and use the norm of the gradients as a simple 64 D feature to describe it, for explicitly training a generic objectness measure. We further show how the binarized version of this feature, namely binarized normed gradients(BING), can be used for efficient objectness estimation, which requires only a few atomic operations(e.g., add, bitwise shift, etc.). To improve localization quality of the proposals while maintaining efficiency, we propose a novel fast segmentation method and demonstrate its effectiveness for improving BING's localization performance, when used in multithresholding straddling expansion(MTSE) postprocessing. | 3 | The dimension and morphology of alveolar bone at maxillaryanterior teeth in periodontitis: a retrospective analysis usingCBCT显示文摘The morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth in periodontitis patients was evaluated by cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT) to investigate the distribution of alveolar defects and provide guidance for clinical practice. Ninety periodontitis patients and 30 periodontally healthy individuals were selected to determine the morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth according to the degree of bone loss, tooth type, sex and age. The differences in the dimensions between periodontitis patients and healthy individuals were compared, and the distribution of alveolar bone defects was analyzed.A classification system was established regarding the sagittal positions and angulations of the teeth. The buccal residual bone was thicker and the lingual bone was thinner in the periodontitis patients than in the periodontally healthy individuals, and there were differences between the different tooth types, sexes and age subgroups. The buccal undercut was close to the alveolar ridge, while fenestration was reduced and the apical bone height was higher in periodontitis patients than in periodontally healthy individuals.The apical bone height increased with the aggravation of bone loss and age. The proportions of different sagittal positions changed with the aggravation of bone loss. | 4 | One-dimensional dynamic compressive behavior of dry calcareous sand at high strain rates显示文摘Calcareous sand has distinct characteristics in comparison with silica sand, such as dynamic behavior at high strain rates(HSRs). This is closely related to pile driving, aircraft wheel loading and mining activities. To understand the response of calcareous sand at HSRs, a series of dynamic tests is performed using the split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) with steel sleeve, including 6 validation tests of bar-against-bar and 16 comparative tests relevant to the relative density and strain rate of calcareous and silica sands.The apparent dynamic stiffness of calcareous sand is approximately 10% of that for silica sand due to different particle shapes and mineral compositions. The axial stress-strain response of silica sand is mainly governed by the deformation of individual grain and soil skeleton, and particle crushing. However, porous calcareous sand shows yielding and strain-hardening responses that are always followed by particle crushing. As the applied loading increases, the particle crushing of calcareous sand develops from local instability to whole breakage. | 5 | Short-term local prediction of wind speed and wind power based on singular spectrum analysis and locality-sensitive hashing显示文摘With the growing penetration of wind power in power systems, more accurate prediction of wind speed and wind power is required for real-time scheduling and operation. In this paper, a novel forecast model for shortterm prediction of wind speed and wind power is proposed,which is based on singular spectrum analysis(SSA) and locality-sensitive hashing(LSH). To deal with the impact of high volatility of the original time series, SSA is applied to decompose it into two components: the mean trend,which represents the mean tendency of the original time series, and the fluctuation component, which reveals the stochastic characteristics. Both components are reconstructed in a phase space to obtain mean trend segments and fluctuation component segments. After that, LSH is utilized to select similar segments of the mean trend segments, which are then employed in local forecasting, so that the accuracy and efficiency of prediction can be enhanced. Finally, support vector regression is adopted forprediction, where the training input is the synthesis of the similar mean trend segments and the corresponding fluctuation component segments. | 6 | Crust and Upper Mantle Electrical Resistivity Structure in the Panxi Region of the Eastern Tibetan Plateau and Its Significance显示文摘The Panxi region is located in the frontal zone of positive squeezing subduction and side squeezing shearing between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate. The long-period magnetotelluric(LMT) and broadband magnetotelluric(MT) techniques are both used to study the deep electrical conductivity structure in this region; magnetic and gravity surveys are also performed along the profile. According to the 2-D resistivity model along the Yanyuan-Yongshan profile,a highconductivity layer(HCL) exists widely in the crust,and a high-resistivity block(HRB) exists widely in the upper mantle in general,as seen by the fact that a large HCL exists from the western Jinpingshan tectonic zone to the eastern Mabian tectonic zone in the crust,while the HRB found in the Panxi tectonic zone is of abnormally high resistivity in that background compared to both sides of Panxi tectonic zone. In addition,the gravity and magnetic field anomalies are of high value. Combined with geological data,the results indicate that there probably exists basic or ultrabasic rock with a large thickness in the lithosphere in the Panxi axial region,which indicates that fracture activity once occurred in the lithosphere. As a result,we can infer that the high-resistivity zone in the Panxi lithosphere is the eruption channel for Permian Emeishan basalt and the accumulation channel for basic and ultrabasic rock. The seismic sources along the profile are counted according to seismic record data. The results indicate that the most violent earthquake sources are located at the binding site of the HRB and the HCL,where the tectonic activity zone is generally acknowledged to be; however,the earthquakes occurring in the HCL are not so violent,which reflects the fact that the HCL is a plastic layer,and the fracture threshold of a plastic layer is low generally,making high stress difficult to accumulate but easy to release in the layer. | 8 | Comparison of Nutritional Quality in Fish Maw Product of Croaker Protonibea diacanthus and Perch Lates niloticus显示文摘Fish maw(the dried swimbladders of fish) is ranked in the list of the four sea treasures in Chinese cuisine. Fish maw is mainly produced from croaker, which is the most highly priced. However, some of the fish maw being sold as croaker maw are in fact not from croaker, but from the Nile perch Lates niloticus. The present work determined and compared the proximate composition, amino acid and fatty acid composition of croaker Protonibea diacanthus maw and perch L. niloticus maw. The results indicated that both maws were high protein sources and low in fat content. The dominant amino acids in both maws were glycine, proline, glutamic acid, alanine and arginine. These amino acids constituted 66.2% and 66.4% of the total amino acids in P. diacanthus and L. niloticus, respectively. The ratio of FAA: TAA(functional amino acids: total amino acids) in both maws were 0.69. This is a good explanation for why fish maws have been widely utilized as a traditional tonic and remedy in Asia. Except valine and histidine, all the essential amino acid contents in P. diacanthus were higher than in L. niloticus. Unconfinedcompressive strength (UCS) and the pH value of soil poresolution were measured. The influence of organic content,agent composition and curing time on the UCS of sampleswere also researched. The test results show that the UCS ofstabilized organic soils by a new agent achieves approximately800 and 1 200 kPa at 28 and 90 d curing time, respectively.The pH test results show that a high alkaline environment is anecessary and not a sufficient condition for high strength. Thestrength of stabilized soil is related to the hydration product ofstabilization agent. The mechanism of strength formation wasalso explored by X-ray diffraction (XRD), mercury intrusionporosimetry (MIP) and scanning electron microscope (SEM)tests. A large amount of ettringite is produced to fill the largepores of organic soils, which contribute to the high UCS valueof stabilized organic soils. | 14 | Metal-Free C_(3)N_(4) with plentiful nitrogen vacancy and increased specific surface area for electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction显示文摘As a substitute for synthetic ammonia under mild condition, electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) provides a hopeful approach for the development of ammonia. Nevertheless, the current development of NRR electrocatalysts is far from enough and a systematic research is needed to gain a better improvement. This article presents that 2 D C_(3)N_(4)-NV with a large specific surface area and abundant nitrogen vacancies is prepared by a simple and feasible method, and used as a metal-free catalyst for electrocatalytic NRR. Experiment result and density functional theory(DFT) calculation reveal that nitrogen vacancies in 2 D C_(3)N_(4)-NV can act as an efficient active site for catalytic NRR, which is conducive to capturing and activating N_(2), lowering Gibbs free energy(DG) in reaction and inhibiting hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) at the same time. In addition, the larger specific surface area also makes more active site exposed, which is good for the contact between the electrolyte and the active site, thus enhancing its NRR activity. | 15 | Bioactive thionic compounds and aromatic glycosides from Ligusticum chuanxiong显示文摘Three new thionic compounds,(S)-2-(2-carboxyl-2-hydroxyethylthio)-ferulic acid(1),(E)-2-methoxy-4-(3-(methylsulfonyl)prop-1-en-1-yl)phenol(2), and thiosenkyunolide C(3), together with two new aromatic glycosides(4 and 5) were isolated from the rhizome of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. Two known compounds(6 and 7) were also obtained. Their structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic data(UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR, and HR-ESI-MS). Furthermore the absolute configurations were established by comparison of their calculated and experimental circular dichroism spectra and by a dimolybdenum tetraacetate [Mo_2(AcO)_4]-induced circular dichroism procedure. All compounds were evaluated against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced NO production in BV2 cells, and compounds 4 and 5 showed strong inhibitory activities with IC_(50) values of 2.03 and 3.09 μmol/L, respectively(positive control curcumin, IC_(50)=6.17 μmol/L). | 16 | Characterization of Five Kinds of Wood Vinegar Obtained from Agricultural and Forestry Wastes and Identification of Major Antioxidants in Wood Vinegar显示文摘Wood vinegar(WV)has a powerful antioxidant activity,but it is unclear which components are responsible for the antioxidant activity.In the present study,the double-column retention index qualitative method was used for the identification of the major components in five kinds of W7 And the major antioxidants of wood vinegar were accurately identified with the aid of Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients and authentic standard samples. | 17 | Short fixation with a 3‐rod technique for posterior hemivertebra resection in children younger than 5 years old显示文摘Importance Congenital hemivertebra is commonly treated with posterior hemivertebra resection with bilateral transpedicular fixation.However,implant‐related complications are common in children younger than 5 years old who undergo this surgical procedure.Objective To present the preliminary clinical and radiological outcomes of children younger than 5 years old treated by posterior hemivertebra resection and 3‐rod fixation technique.Methods From January 2016 to December 2017,14 consecutive patients of congenital scoliosis with 16 hemivertebrae were retrospectively reviewed,including 5 girls and 9 boys,aged between 25 and 55 months old(average,37.6 months).All patients underwent posterior hemivertebra resection with short fixation with bilateral pedicle screws and a convex lamina hook.Surgical complications and corrective outcomes were assessed based on the clinical charts and spinal radiographs with a minimum 24‐month follow‐up.Results The mean Cobb angle of the main curve was 38.4°before surgery,8.5°after surgery,and 8.7°at final follow‐up.In the compensatory cranial curve,the preoperative Cobb angle of 16.8°was corrected to 8.1°postoperatively and was 10.3°at final follow‐up.In the compensatory caudal curve,the preoperative Cobb angle of 15.9°improved to 5.3°postoperatively and was 7.8°at final follow‐up.The segmental kyphosis was corrected from 13.5°to 0.5°and was 1.1°at final follow‐up.There were no crankshaft phenomena,no proximal kyphosis,and no complications related to the instrumentation.Interpretation Posterior hemivertebra resection with instrumentation with bilateral pedicle screws and a convex lamina hook can achieve rigid fixation and deformity correction. | Dong Guo Ziming Yao Xinyu Qi Chengxin Li Xuejun Zhang | 2020 | Pediatric Investigation2020,4,2: | 4 |

| 20 | Optical properties and cooling performance analyses of single-layer radiative cooling coating with mixture of TiO_(2) particles and SiO_(2) particles显示文摘Radiative cooling can achieve cooling effect without consuming any energy by delivering energy into outer space(3K) through'atmospheric window'(8–13 μm). Conventional radiative cooling coating with multi-layer structure was severely restricted during application due to its complex preparation process and high cost. In this study, a single-layer radiative cooling coating with mixture of TiO_(2) particles and SiO_(2) particles was proposed. The algorithm for calculating the radiative properties of the multi-particle system was developed. Monte Carlo ray-tracing method combined with that algorithm was used to solve the radiative transfer equation(RTE) of the single-layer radiative cooling coating with mixture of TiO_(2) particles and SiO_(2) particles.The effects of particle diameter, volume fraction and coating thickness on radiative cooling performance were analyzed to obtain the best radiative cooling performance. The numerical results indicated that the average reflectivity of the single-layer radiative cooling coating with mixture of TiO_(2) particles and SiO_(2) particles in the solar spectrum can reach 95.6%, while and the average emissivity in the 'atmospheric window' spectrum can reach 94.9% without additional silver-reflectance layer. The average reflectivity in the solar spectrum and average emissivity in the 'atmospheric window' spectrum of the single-layer radiative cooling coating with mixture of TiO_(2) particles and SiO_(2) particles can increase 4.6% and 4.8% compared to the double-layer radiative cooling coating.
