| 2 | Tensile and Fracture Properties of 15 vol% SiC_p/2009Al Composites Fabricated by Hot Isostatic Pressing and Hot Extrusion Processes显示文摘15 vol% silicon carbide particle(Si Cp)-reinforced 2009 Al matrix(15 vol% Si Cp/2009Al) composites were fabricated by hot isostatic pressing(HIP) and hot extrusion processes. The tensile and fracture properties of 15 vol% Si Cp/2009 Al were studied. The results showed that hot extrusion increased the ultimate tensile strength(UTS), yield strength(YS), elongation(EL), reduction in area(RA), and fracture toughness of the composites. The heat treatment resulted in the increase in UTS, YS, and fracture toughness, but a decrease in EL and RA. Both hot extrusion and heat treatment had negligible effects on elastic modulus(E). With the increase of Si Cpsize, the UTS, YS, and E decreased, but the EL and RA increased. | 5 | Multiple sulfur and oxygen isotope compositions in Beijing aerosol显示文摘Multiple sulfur isotopes(32S, 33 S, 34 S, 36S) and oxygen isotopes(16O, 18O) in Beijing aerosols were measured with MAT-253 isotope mass spectrometer. The δ34S values of Beijing aerosol samples range from 1.68‰ to 12.57‰ with an average value of 5.86‰, indicating that the major sulfur source is from direct emission during coal combustion. The δ18O values vary from 5.29‰ to 9.02‰ with an average value of 5.17‰, revealing that the sulfate in Beijing aerosols is mainly composed of the secondary sulfate. The main heterogeneous oxidation of SO2 in atmosphere is related to H2O2 in July and August, whereas H2O2 oxidation and Fe3+ catalytic oxidation with SO2 exist simultaneously in September and October. Remarkable sulfur isotope mass-independent fractionation effect is found in Beijing aerosols, which is commonly attributed to the photochemical oxidation of SO2 in the stratosphere. | 6 | Transmission identification of Escherichia coli aerosol in chicken houses to their environments using ERIC-PCR显示文摘In order to study E. coli aerosol spreading from chicken houses to their surrounding air, air samples, including indoor and outdoor air (upwind 10 and 50 m as well as downwind 10, 50, 100, 200 and 400 m away) of 5 chicken houses were collected using six-stage Andersen microbial samplers and Reuter-Centrifugal samplers (RCS). E. coli concentrations (CFU/m3 air) collected from different sampling sites were calculated. E. coli strains from chicken feces samples were also isolated. Furthermore, the enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus (ERIC)-PCR method was applied to amplify the isolated E. coli strain DNA samples. Through the genetic similarity analyses of the E. coli obtained from different sampling sites, the spreading of bioaerosol from animal houses to the ambient air was characterized. The results showed that the isolated E. coli concentrations in indoor air (9―63 CFU/m3) in 5 chicken houses were higher than those in upwind and downwind air, but there were no significant differences between the indoor and downwind sites 10 m away from all the 5 houses (P>0.05). The phylogenetic tree indicated that a part of the E. coli (34.1%) isolated from indoor air had 100% similarity with those isolated from feces, and that most of E. coli isolated (54.5%) from downwind at 10, 50, 100 or even 200 m had 100% similarity with those isolated from indoor air or feces too. But those isolated from upwind air had a lower similarity (73%―92%) with corresponding strains isolated from indoor air or feces. Our results suggested that some strains isolated from downwind air and indoor air originated in the chicken feces, but most of isolates obtained from upwind air samples did not come from the chicken feces or indoor air. | 7 | Influence of La2O3 addition on nano indentation hardness and residual stress of Stellite 6 coating prepared by plasma cladding显示文摘One of the problems limiting the application of Stellite 6 coating is the residual stress resulting in cracks in the coating easily. In order to reduce the residual stress and increase the nano-indentation hardness,La_2 O_3 was added to Stellite 6 coating in this study, and the influence on the microstructure, nano indentation hardness and residual stress of the coatings were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with energy dispersive spectrum(EDS), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and nano-indentation tester. Results indicate that the addition of La_2 O_3 leads to the phenomenon that the dendrite is partly transformed into the equiaxed grain, which results in the grain refinement. The nano-indentation hardness of coatings is improved, which is attributed to the fine-grain strengthening and dispersion strengthening effect of La_2 O_3. With the addition of La_2 O_3, the residual stress in coatings is decreased significantly. | 8 | Velocity field of wave-induced local fluid flow in double-porosity media显示文摘Under the excitation of elastic waves,local fluid flow in a complex porous medium is a major cause for wave dispersion and attenuation.When the local fluid flow process is simulated with wave propagation equations in the double-porosity medium,two porous skeletons are usually assumed,namely,host and inclusions.Of them,the volume ratio of inclusion skeletons is low.All previous studies have ignored the consideration of local fluid flow velocity field in inclusions,and therefore they can not completely describe the physical process of local flow oscillation and should not be applied to the situation where the fluid kinetic energy in inclusions cannot be neglected.In this paper,we analyze the local fluid flow velocity fields inside and outside the inclusion,rewrite the kinetic energy function and dissipation function based on the double-porosity medium model containing spherical inclusions,and derive the reformulated Biot-Rayleigh(BR)equations of elastic wave propagation based on Hamilton’s principle.We present simulation examples with different rock and fluid types.Comparisons between BR equations and reformulated BR equations show that there are significant differences in wave response characteristics.Finally,we compare the reformulated BR equations with the previous theories and experimental data,and the results show that the theoretical results of this paper are correct and effective. | BA Jing ZHANG Lin SUN WeiTao HAO ZhaoBing | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,6: | 4 |

| 10 | High-resolution mapping of brain vasculature and its impairment in the hippocampus of Alzheimer’s disease mice显示文摘Accumulating evidence indicates the critical importance of cerebrovascular dysfunction in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).However,systematic comparative studies on the precise brain vasculature of wild-type and AD model mice are still rare.Using an image-optimization method for analysing Micro-Optical Sectioning Tomography(MOST)data,we generated cross-scale whole-brain 3 D atlases that cover the entire vascular system from large vessels down to smallest capillaries at submicron resolution,for both wild-type mice and a transgenic(APP/PS1)mouse model of AD.In addition to distinct vascular patterns in different brain regions,we found that the main vessels of the molecular layer of the hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG-ml)undergo abrupt changes in both diameter and branch angle,spreading a unique comb-like pattern of capillaries.By using a quantitative analysis workflow,we identified in the hippocampus of AD mice an overall reduction of the mean vascular diameter,volume fraction and branch angle,with most significant impairment in the DG-ml.In addition,virtual endoscopy revealed irregular morphological features in the vessel lumen of the AD mice,potentially contributing to the impairment of blood flow.Our results demonstrate the capability of high-resolution cross-scale evaluation of brain vasculature and underscore the importance of studying hippocampal microcirculation for understanding AD pathogenesis. | Xiaochuan Zhang Xianzhen Yin Jingjing Zhang Anan Li Hui Gong Qingming Luo Haiyan Zhang Zhaobing Gao Hualiang Jiang | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,6: | 4 |
| 11 | Vacuum carburization of 12Cr2Ni4A low carbon alloy steel with lanthanum and cerium ion implantation显示文摘As bearing parts, 12 Cr2 Ni4 A is expected to have high hardness and excellent fatigue strength, so carburizing is employed to improve the inherit properties of 12 Cr2 Ni4 A. However, the traditional carburizing is limited by poor microstructure distribution and low rate of carburizing. The rare earth ion implantation is known to help improving the properties of tribology, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of metal. In this article, the RE implantation is employed to assist the carburizing. Lanthanum and cerium ion implantations are initially used to assist 12 Cr2 Ni4 A low pressure vacuum carburization.The microstructure, content of retained austenite, hardness, thickness of layer and carbon diffusion were analyzed by optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and Rockwell/Vickers hardness tester, respectively. It was shown that lanthanum and cerium implantations can improve structure of the vacuum carburizing layer, and enhance the uniformity of carbon element distribution on the carburized surface. Meanwhile the RE implantation plays a positive role in promoting the surface hardness and carburized rate. The lanthanum element has more significant effect on surface hardness and content of retained austenite than cerium element. | 12 | Effect of Organic Manure,Passivator and Their Complex on the Bioavailability of Soil Cd显示文摘A field experiment of organic manure,passivator and their complex was conducted to study the soil Cd bioavailability in the Cd polluted paddy soil. The results showed that the rice yield increased with the applications of organic manure,passivator and their complex,especially,the rice yields of applying 3 000 and 6 000 kg / hm2 of organic manure increased significantly by 18. 6%( P < 0. 05) and 20. 9%( P < 0. 05) because of the increase of rice economic coefficient. There had no significant change of the soil p H values and the soil available Cd contents,but the Cd distribution ratios in rice were lowered by applying organic manure,and the Cd contents of rice applying 3 000 and 6 000 kg / hm2 of organic manure dropped by 14. 3%( P > 0. 05) and 21. 4%( P > 0. 05) compared with chemical fertilizer treatment,respectively. But applying with passivator and passivator fertilized with 3 000 and 6 000 kg / hm2 of organic manure,the soil p H values increased and the soil available Cd contents decreased significantly,so that to restrain the rice's Cd absorption and accumulation.
