1Transition of axial segregation patterns in a long rotating drum显示文摘Axial segregation of a bidisperse mixture of particles in a long rotating drum is studied using the discrete element method. Simulation results show that particle interaction is responsible for axial segregation,the patterns of which are influenced by the end wall effect. Axial segregation patterns transform under competing influences of the end walls and the particle interaction forces. The two influential factors vary with various rotational speeds and end wall friction levels. 2Selective catalytic reduction of NO by C_2H_2 over Ce-Al_2O_3 catalyst with rate-determining step of NO oxidation显示文摘Ce-Al2O3 catalysts prepared by co-precipitation are investigated both in NO oxidation by O2 and in selective catalytic reduction of NO by C2H2(C 2 H 2-SCR).It is found that C2H2-SCR is initiated and controlled by NO oxidation to NO 2 over Al2O3.Ce loading on Al2O3 is almost inactive for NO oxidation below 350 C,since NO2 strongly adsorbs on cerium oxide,leading to the active sites being blocked,which was characterized by temperature-programmed desorption of NO and NO 2 and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy after NO+O 2 coadsorption over the samples.However,in the case of C2H2-SCR,Ce loading on Al 2 O 3 significantly improves the reaction by accelerating the NO oxidation step in the temperature range of 250-450 C,since the nitrate species produced by NO 2 adsorption is an active intermediate required by C2H 2-SCR.Suhua Yan Xinping Wang Wenchen Wang Zequn Liu Jiahao Niu 2012Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,3:6
3Removal of bentazone from micro-polluted water using MIEX resin:Kinetics,equilibrium,and mechanism显示文摘The contamination of surface and ground water by bentazone has attracted increasing global concern in recent years.We conducted a detailed investigation using MIEX resin to eliminate bentazone from waters.Batch experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of process parameters,such as retention time,resin amount,and initial pesticide concentration,on removal efficiency of bentazone.Results showed the sorption process was fast and bentazone could be efficiently removed in 30 minutes.The kinetic process of bentazone sorption on MIEX resin was well described by pseudo second-order model and intraparticle diffusion was the rate controlling step.The MIEX resin possessed the highest sorption capacity of 0.2656 mmol/mL for bentazone according to Langmuir fitting.Bentazone is a hydrophobic ionizable organic compound,and both ionic charge and hydrophobic aromatic structure governed the sorption characteristics on MIEX resin.The different removal efficiencies of ionic and non-ionic pesticides,combined with the charge balance equations of bentazone,SO 4 2,NO 3 and Cl,indicated that removal of bentazone using MIEX resin occurred primarily via ion exchange.Zequn Liu Xiaomin Yan Mary Drikas Danong Zhou DongshengWang Min Yang Jiuhui Qu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,3:6

5From STP to game-based control显示文摘This paper provides a comprehensive survey on semi-tensor product(STP) of matrices and its applications to different disciplines. First of all, the STP and its basic properties are introduced. Meanwhile, its inside physical meaning is explained. Second, its application to conventional dynamic systems is presented. As an example, the region of attraction of stable equilibriums is discussed. Third, its application to logical systems is presented. Particularly, the algebraic state space representation of logical systems and the important role it plays in analysis and control of logical systems are emphasized. Fourth, its application to finite games is discussed. The most interesting problems include potential game, evolutionary game, and game theoretic control. 6Scientific studies on pottery and pro-porcelain from group of graves in Henglingshan, Guangdong Province显示文摘The findings of the Henglingshan group of graves, Guangdong Province, were appraised as one of the ten major archaeological excavations in 2000. The pottery and proto-porcelain samples excavated from the group of graves in Henglingshan are very important for studying the development history of Guang-dong ceramics. In this paper, the chemical compositions, micro-structure and physical properties of the samples were systematically analyzed. The results were subjected to multivariate statistical analysis. Different compositional patterns were found for specimens from different periods. The reasons for these variations were discussed. 8Frozen curtain characteristics during excavation of submerged shallow tunnel using Freeze-Sealing Pipe-Roof method显示文摘The Freeze-Sealing Pipe-Roof(FSPR)method,which has been applied for the first time in the Gongbei Tunnel of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge,is a new approach of tunnel pre-support that allows flexible adjustment of freeze tube arrangement and can be adapted to different environmental conditions.When the FSPR method is used to construct shallow burial submerged tunnels,the frozen wall to hold back groundwater during excavation will be weakened by air and water flows inside and outside the tunnel,and its waterproof performance needs to be further investigated.In this paper,a two-dimensional numerical model of the temperature field considering excavation and moving water boundary is established based on the preliminary design scheme and in-situ conditions and is used to analyze the variation in frozen curtain properties with various active freezing times during excavation.The results show that excavation has a weakening effect on both sides of the frozen wall,with a greater effect on the inner side,and a positive temperature appears in the local area inside the jacked pipe.The concrete fill in the jacked pipe obviously improves the freezing efficiency,and the tunnel excavation after 60 days of active freezing in the interval filling mode can ensure that the frozen soil thickness at the thinnest segment exceeds 2 m,i.e.,the design requirement.In practice,the active freezing time can be extended appropriately to reduce the influence of river water flow above the tunnel.The study serves as a technical reference for the design and implementation of similar projects.Ye Niu ZeQun Hong Jun Zhang Lei Han 2022Research in Cold and Arid Regions2022,14,4:2
9Compound Danshen Dripping Pill inhibits hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis-induced heart failure in ApoE and LDLR dual deficient mice via multiple mechanisms显示文摘Heart failure is the leading cause of death worldwide.Compound Danshen Dripping Pill(CDDP)or CDDP combined with simvastatin has been widely used to treat patients with myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases in China.However,the effect of CDDP on hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis-induced heart failure is unknown.We constructed a new model of heart failure induced by hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis in apolipoprotein E(ApoE)and LDL receptor(LDLR)dual deficient(ApoE^(–/–)LDLR^(–/–))mice and investigated the effect of CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin on the heart failure.CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin inhibited heart injury by multiple actions including anti-myocardial dysfunction and anti-fibrosis.Mechanistically,both Wnt and lysine-specific demethylase 4A(KDM4A)pathways were significantly activated in mice with heart injury.Conversely,CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin inhibited Wnt pathway by markedly up-regulating expression of Wnt inhibitors.While the anti-inflammation and anti-oxidative stress by CDDP were achieved by inhibiting KDM4A expression and activity.In addition,CDDP attenuated simvastatin-induced myolysis in skeletal muscle.Taken together,our study suggests that CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin can be an effective therapy to reduce hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis-induced heart failure.Yanfang Yang Ke Feng Liying Yuan Yuxin Liu Mengying Zhang Kaimin Guo Zequn Yin Wenjia Wang Shuiping Zhou He Sun Kaijing Yan Xijun Yan Xuerui Wang Yajun Duan Yunhui Hu Jihong Han 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,3:2
10A Thermochromic, Viscoelastic Nacre-like Nanocomposite for the Smart Thermal Management of Planar Electronics显示文摘Cutting-edge heat spreaders for soft and planar electronics require not only high thermal conductivity and a certain degree of flexibility but also remarkable self-adhesion without thermal interface materials, elasticity, arbitrary elongation along with soft devices, and smart properties involving thermal self-healing, thermochromism and so on. Nacre-like composites with excellent in-plane heat dissipation are ideal as heat spreaders for thin and planar electronics. However, the intrinsically poor viscoelasticity, i.e., adhesion and elasticity, prevents them from simultaneous self-adhesion and arbitrary elongation along with current flexible devices as well as incurring high interfacial thermal impedance. In this paper, we propose a soft thermochromic composite(STC) membrane with a layered structure, considerable stretchability, high in-plane thermal conductivity(~30 Wm^(-1) K^(-1)), low thermal contact resistance(~12 mm^2 KW^(-1), 4–5 times lower than that of silver paste), strong yet sustainable adhesion forces(~4607 Jm^(-2), 2220 Jm^(-2) greater than that of epoxy paste) and self-healing efficiency. As a self-adhesive heat spreader, it implements efficient cooling of various soft electronics with a temperature drop of 20℃ than the polyimide case. 19Flexible Photonic Probes for New-Generation Brain−Computer Interfaces显示文摘1.INTRODUCTION The brain−computer interface(BCI)refers to the direct connection created between human or animal brains and external devices to realize the information exchange between the brain and the device,which has developed rapidly in the past few decades in both regulating and recording neural activity.Neuroscientists are utilizing these interfaces to map and analyze the brain’s neural network.1 Since 2005,the emergence of optogenetics technology in neuroscience has made high spatial and cellular resolution stimulation possible,enabling neurons to be turned on and off with unprecedented precision.1 This offers a great opportunity for clinical applications because it provides a way to activate or inactivate specific neurons and directly modulate the neural signal for external activities,bringing hope to patients with neurological disorders such as epilepsy,2 Parkinson’s disease,3 hearing impairment,4 and vision impairment.5 Therefore,it is highly desirable to develop implantable optogenetic devices with the capability of single-cell resolution stimulation and ultrafast neural signal recording that can be positioned at an arbitrary region and depth inside the brain.Zequn Chen Lan Li 2021Accounts of Materials Research2021,2,5:1
205-Hydroxymethylfurfural from wine-processed Fructus corni inhibits hippocampal neuron apoptosis显示文摘Previous studies have shown that 5-hydroxymethylfurfural,a compound extracted from wineprocessed Fructus corni,has a protective effect on hippocampal neurons.The present study was designed to explore the related mechanisms.Our study revealed that high and medium doses(10,1μmol/L)of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural could improve the morphology of H2O2-treated rat hippocampal neurons as revealed by inverted phase-contrast microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.MTT results showed that incubation with high and medium doses of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural caused a significant increase in the viability of neuronal cells injured by H2O2.Flow cytometry assays confirmed that H2O2could induce cell apoptosis,while high and medium doses of5-hydroxymethylfurfural had a visible protective effect on apoptotic rat hippocampal neurons.Real-time PCR and western blot analysis showed that high and medium doses of5-hydroxymethylfurfural prevented H2O2-induced up-regulation of p53,Bax and caspase-3 and antagonized the down-regulation of Bcl-2 induced by H2O2treatment.These results suggested that5-hydroxymethylfurfural could inhibit apoptosis of cultured rat hippocampal neurons injured by H2O2via increase in Bcl-2 levels and decrease in p53,Bax and caspase-3 protein expression levels.Hai Gu Zequn Jiang Mingyan Wang Haiying Jiang Fengming Zhao Xia Ding Baochang Cai Zhen Zhan 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,28:1
