1MdGSTF6,activated by MdMYB1,plays an essential role in anthocyanin accumulation in apple显示文摘Anthocyanins are biosynthesized on the cytosolic surface of the endoplasmic reticulum and then transported into the vacuole for storage.Glutathione S-transferases(GSTs)are considered to be responsible for the transport of anthocyanins into the vacuole.However,the regulatory mechanisms of GSTs in plants are still unclear.Here,we performed a genome-wide analysis and identified 69 GST genes in apple.The expression of MdGSTF6 was positively correlated with the anthocyanin content(r=0.949)during‘Yanfu 8’fruit development.The overexpression of MdGSTF6 in the Arabidopsis thaliana tt19 mutant resulted in seedlings of 35S::MdGSTF6-GFP/tt19 that could accumulate anthocyanin and rescue its phenotype,suggesting that MdGSTF6 was an anthocyanin transporter.The silencing of MdGSTF6 affected anthocyanin accumulation in apple fruit.Moreover,the knockdown of MdGSTF6 by RNA interference in cultured‘Gala’seedlings inhibited anthocyanin accumulation.The interaction experiments showed that MdMYB1 could bind directly to the MdGSTF6 promoter to transcriptionally activate its expression.Collectively,our results demonstrate that MdGSTF6 encodes an important GST transporter of anthocyanins in apple fruit and provide evidence for the associated regulatory mechanisms.Therefore,MdMYB1 can not only regulate anthocyanin synthesis,but also control the transport of anthocyanin in apples.This information may be useful for further clarifying the regulation of anthocyanin transport in apple.Shenghui Jiang Min Chen Naibo He Xiaoliu Chen Nan Wang Qingguo Sun Tianliang Zhang Haifeng Xu Hongcheng Fang Yicheng Wang Zongying Zhang Shujing Wu Xuesen Chen 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:16
2Malus sieversii: the origin, flavonoid synthesis mechanism, and breeding of red-skinned and red-fleshed apples显示文摘Flavonoids play essential roles in human health.Apple(Malus domestica Borkh.),one of the most widely produced and economically important fruit crops in temperate regions,is a significant source of flavonoids in the human diet and is among the top nutritionally rated and most widely consumed fruits worldwide.Epidemiological studies have shown that the consumption of apples,which are rich in a variety of free and easily absorbable flavonoids,is associated with a decreased risk of various diseases.However,apple production is challenged by serious inbreeding problems.The narrowing of the hereditary base has resulted in apples with poor nutritional quality and low flavonoid contents.Recently,there have been advances in our understanding of the roles that Malus sieversii(Ledeb.)M.Roem has played in the process of apple domestication and breeding.In this study,we review the origin of cultivated apples and red-fleshed apples,and discuss the genetic diversity and construction of the core collections of M.sieversii.We also discuss current research progress and breeding programs on red-skinned and red-fleshed apples and summarize the exploitation and utilization of M.sieversii in the breeding of high-flavonoid,and red-fleshed apples.This study highlights a valuable pattern of horticultural crop breeding using wild germplasm resources.The future challenges and directions of research on the molecular mechanisms of flavonoid accumulation and high-flavonoid apple breeding are discussed.Nan Wang Shenghui Jiang Zongying Zhang Hongcheng Fang Haifeng Xu Yicheng Wang Xuesen Chen 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:15
3Conductive grease synthesized using nanometer ATO as an additive显示文摘A new conductive grease was synthesized using a nanometer powder,i.e.,Sb doped SnO2(ATO),as an additive.The typical properties of this new conductive grease were investigated in detail.The results indicate that ATO can dramatically improve the dropping point and reduce contact resistance.The tribological properties of the new conductive grease were investigated using the MFT-R4000 reciprocating friction and wear tester.The tribol-test results indicate that ATO can dramatically improve the tribological properties of the grease.When the ATO concentration is 0.1wt%,the grease demonstrates the best friction reduction properties;when the concentration is 0.5wt%,the grease demonstrates the best anti-wear properties.The worn surfaces were observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,and the friction mechanisms for the new conductive grease are proposed.The excellent tribological properties of the new conductive grease are attributed to the mechanical effect of ATO,and the film formed by Sn and Sb elements or metallic oxide deposited on worn surfaces during the friction process.Xiangyu GE Yanqiu XIA Zongying SHU Xiaopei ZHAO 2015Friction2015,3,1:6
4MdMYB6 regulates anthocyanin formation in apple both through direct inhibition of the biosynthesis pathway and through substrate removal显示文摘Anthocyanin biosynthesis and sugar metabolism are important processes during plant growth,but the molecular interactions underlying these pathways are still unclear.In this work,we analyzed the anthocyanin and soluble sugar contents,as well as the transcript levels of transcription factors that are known to be related to the biosynthesis of anthocyanin in‘Hongcui 1’apple flesh during fruit development.Overexpression of MdMYB6 in red-fleshed calli was found to reduce anthocyanin content and result in downregulated expression of the MdANS and MdGSTF12 proteins.Yeast one-hybrid and electrophoretic mobility shift analyses showed that MdMYB6 could directly bind to the promoters of MdANS and MdGSTF12,indicating that MdMYB6 could inhibit anthocyanin biosynthesis by regulating MdANS and MdGSTF12.Overexpression of MdTMT1 in the Arabidopsis tmt1 mutant restored the glucose and fructose contents to the wild-type levels,while overexpression of MdTMT1 in red-fleshed calli increased the contents of glucose and fructose but reduced the contents of UDP-glucose,UDP-galactose,and anthocyanin.Using a GUS reporter system,yeast one-hybrid,chromatin immunoprecipitation-PCR and electrophoretic mobility shift analyses,we found that MdMYB6 could bind to the promoter of MdTMT1,resulting in increased promoter activity.Overexpression of MdMYB6 in calli overexpressing MdTMT1 increased the expression of MdTMT1,which led to reduced contents of UDP-glucose and UDP-galactose and decreased anthocyanin content compared to those of the calli that overexpressed MdTMT1.This finding suggested that MdMYB6 could also inhibit anthocyanin biosynthesis by regulating MdTMT1 to decrease the contents of UDP-glucose and UDP-galactose.Taken together,these results showed that MdMYB6 and MdTMT1 play key roles in both anthocyanin biosynthesis and sugar transport.Haifeng Xu Qi Zou Guanxian Yang Shenghui Jiang Hongcheng Fang Yicheng Wang Jing Zhang Zongying Zhang Nan Wang Xuesen Chen 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:6
5Petrogenesis and Geodynamic Implications of the Carboniferous Granitoids in the Dananhu Belt,Eastern Tianshan Orogenic Belt显示文摘This paper presents new LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb geochronology,whole-rock major and trace element geochemistry,and Sr-Nd isotopes systematically on porphyritic granitic and K-feldspar granitic intrusions from the Dananhu belt,eastern Tianshan orogenic belt(ETOB).Zircon U-Pb dating indicates that the porphyritic granitic and K-feldspar granitic plutons were formed at 357±3 and 311±3 Ma,respectively.The porphyritic granites show geochemical and isotopic characteristics(high Si O2,low Mg O and Mg^#,depleted Sr-Nd isotopic values(about 0.7034 and 6.13,respectively),with Nb/Ta(13.3–14.7)and Zr/Hf(31.0–33.9)ratios)similar to those of the crustal-derived magmas.The above characteristics suggest they were probably originated from juvenile lower crustal materials.The K-feldspar granites also have high Si O2,low Mg O and Mg^#,depleted Sr-Nd isotopic values(0.7033–0.7046 and 4.41–5.67,respectively).But some trace elements contents vary widely,with variable Nb/Ta(12.7–22.7),Zr/Hf(21.3–36.1)and Nb/La(0.38–1.07)ratios,indicating that the K-feldspar granites were formed by partial melting of juvenile lower crustal materials with old crustal materials.Combined with previous data on Carboniferous granitoids in the Dananhu belt,we infer that all the Carboniferous granitic plutons in the Dananhu belt were most likely emplaced in an island arc environment(Dananhu arc).Subsequently,a tectonic transition from oceanic subduction to post-collisional extension probably occurred in the ETOB.Long Du Chao Yuan Xu-Ping Li Yunying Zhang Zongying Huang Xiaoping Long 2019Journal of Earth Science2019,30,6:6
6New discoveries from the classic Quaternary mammalian fossil area of Yanjinggou,Chongqing,and their chronological explanations显示文摘Yanjinggou in Wanzhou District of Chongqing is one of the earliest reported and most famous Quaternary mammalian fossil areas in China.The fauna from this area used to be taken as a benchmark for the biochronological comparison of Quaternary paleontology of South China,but the chronology of this fauna has many controversies for the lack of exact locational and stratigraphical records.The present article,on the basis of recent investigations and discoveries,discusses and explains the distribution and biochronology of the mammalian faunas in the Yanjinggou area.The newly discovered Dayakou fissure fauna,including Rhizomys troglodytes,Homotherium sp.,Panthera pardus,Stegodon orientalis,Dicerorhinus sumatrensis,Hesperotherium sinense,Sus sp.,Cervavitus fenqii,Cervus sp.and Muntiacus sp.,is correlated to the middle Early Pleistocene.The presence of Early Pleistocene mammalian fauna in the Yanjinggou area is therefore confirmed.The'Wanhsien fauna'or'Yenchingkou(=Yanjinggou)fauna'as a Mid-Late Pleistocene biostratigraphical datum should be abandoned.The Dayakou fauna and the Upper Cave fauna of Pingba,both in the Yanjinggou area,are correlated to the middle Early Pleistocene and the early Middle Pleistocene in age,respectively.CHEN ShaoKun PANG LiBo HE CunDing WEI GuangBiao HUANG WanBo YUE ZongYing ZHANG XiaoHu ZHANG Hua QIN Li 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,31:4

8Cell-protecting regeneration from anode carbon deposition using in situ produced oxygen and steam:A combined experimental and theoretical study显示文摘Carbon deposition is a primary concern during the operation of solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs) fueled with hydrocarbon fuels, leading to cell degradation and even cell damage. Carbon elimination is expected to be a promising approach to prolong cell life. This work reports on a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of cell regeneration from anode carbon deposition of tubular SOFCs fabricated by phase-inversion and co-sintering techniques. The as-prepared cell exhibits a maximum power density of 0.20 W cm^(-2) at 800 ℃ fueling with wet CH_4, but fails to stable operation due to severe carbon deposition.Based on thermodynamic predictions, a successive cell-protecting regeneration process is proposed to eliminate deposited carbon without oxidizing Ni catalysts, during which CH_4 and H_2 fuels are provided in circulation. Through a total of 35 cycling tests, cell performance can always successfully restore to the initial level.The possible carbon elimination mechanism is investigated in detail based on thermodynamic and first-principle calculations. 18Hero Hua Mulan With a Thousand Faces:Why Chinese Stories Can Move the World?Evidence From a Global Cross-Cultural Interview Survey显示文摘While people from Western countries do not always understand of the underlying cultural values of most Chinese stories,the Hua Mulan story has gained significant recognition from Western audiences.Therefore,it would be quite beneficial if we could understand the key elements that have contributed to the success of the Hua Mulan story so that we can employ similar elements in other intercultural communication programs and promote the communication and dissemination of cultures between China and the rest of the world.According to the findings from the interviews of 6,130 respondents from 107 countries,we found that the Hua Mulan story gains global acceptance because it represents a story of“a hero with a thousand faces,”which embodies the integration of Chinese traditions and contemporary spirit through sharing a global meaning while responding to various culturally common challenges.Five key cultural value dimensions are responsible for this Chinese story’s cross-cultural affinity and influence,which helped it win recognition and empathy worldwide.The five key cultural value dimensions are loyalty and patriotism,the courage to take responsibility,compatibility of individualism and collectivism,respondence to the multicultural appeal,and hero growth.These dimensions are then generalized as the value identity orientation grounded in a Global Shared Meaning(GSM)in this study.Wang Shuguang Liu Zongying Li Junyi 2023Contemporary Social Sciences2023,8,4:1
