1Sex hormones in the modulation of irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘Compelling evidence indicates sex and gender differences in epidemiology,symptomatology,pathophysiology,and treatment outcome in irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Based on the female predominance as well as the correlation between IBS symptoms and hormonal status,several models have been proposed to examine the role of sex hormones in gastrointestinal(GI)function including differences in GI symptoms expression in distinct phases of the menstrual cycle,in pre-and post-menopausal women,during pregnancy,hormonal treatment or after oophorectomy.Sex hormones may influence peripheral and central regulatory mechanisms of the brain-gut axis involved in the pathophysiology of IBS contributing to the alterations in visceral sensitivity,motility,intestinal barrier function,and immune activation of intestinal mucosa.Sex differences in stress response of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and autonomic nervous system,neuroimmune interac-tions triggered by stress,as well as estrogen interactions with serotonin and corticotropin-releasing factor signaling systems are being increasingly recognized.A concept of'microgenderome'related to the potential role of sex hormone modulation of the gut microbiota is also emerging.Significant differences between IBS female and male patients regarding symptomatology and comorbidity with other chronic pain syndromes and psychiatric disorders,together with differences in efficacy of serotonergic medications in IBS patients confirm the necessity for more sex-tailored therapeutic approach in this disorder.Agata Mulak Yvette Taché Muriel Larauche 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,10:14

3北冰洋-欧亚大陆-太平洋地学断面东南段岩石圈有效弹性厚度显示文摘大陆岩石圈有效弹性厚度 (Te)是表示岩石圈强度的参数 ,计算该参数对研究岩石圈大规模构造 ,分析大陆板块内的均衡补偿机制有一定意义 .利用Forsyth提出的相关技术计算了北冰洋 -欧亚大陆 -太平洋地学断面东南段自黑水到泉州的Te 值 .并分析了重力和地形波长的相关性特征 ,初步认为 :计算Te 值所选的每个数据块在短波长 (6 .6~ 10 0km)内岩石圈板块的强度足以平衡地形负载 ,重力和地形不相关 ;在长波长 (10 0~ 2 5 0km)内 ,地形及地下负载由弯曲模型补偿 ,岩石圈板块在地形及地下负载作用下而挠曲 .断面通过地段具有较低热流密度值的四川陆核有较高的Te 值 ,具有较高热流密度值的宁化、大田地区有较低的Te 值 ,反映了较高的热流密度值对应较低的Te 值 ;较低的热流密度值对应较高Te 值的关系 .Te 可分为南东低值段和北西高值段 .地壳厚度大体上与Te 值呈正相关关系 .袁炳强 Yvette H.Poudjom Djomani 王平 袁学诚 左愚 2002地球科学(中国地质大学学报)2002,27,4:8
4Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on agricultural exports显示文摘The COVID-19 outbreak has shocked the world’s economies in the year of 2020.As this pandemic spreads around the globe,many experts feared that the global food supplies might start running short,especially if supply chains were disrupted.COVID-19 also added to the uncertainty of the business operation.Therefore,it is critical to understand how COVID-19 pandemic affected global food supply and market.In this study,we investigate the impact of COVID-19 on agricultural export companies in China using a unique firm-level survey data.We found that although on average agricultural businesses experienced declines in the exports,exports of some agricultural products especially grain and oil held strong and even increased,implying the essential demand for staple food during the pandemic.Not surprisingly,exports of medicinal herb also increased significantly during the pandemic.However,exports of goods such as edible fungus and horticultural products sharply decreased.Our results also showed that in general,impact of COVID-19 on smaller firms was more severe than that on larger firms.The results of this study can provide useful guidance and implications for agricultural businesses and policy makers on their COVID-19 mitigation efforts to navigate this global pandemic.LIN Ben-xi Yu Yvette ZHANG 2020Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,12:5

7Relevance of α-defensins(HNP1-3) and defensin β-1 in diabetes显示文摘AIM: To investigate the genetic background of human defensin expression in type 1 and 2 diabetes.METHODS: Associations between DEFA1/DEFA3 gene copy number polymorphism and diabetes as well as between the promoter polymorphisms of DEFB1 and diabetes were studied. The copy number variation of the DEFA1/DEFA3 genes was determined in 257 diabetic patients(117 patients with type 1 and 140 with type 2 diabetes). The control group consisted of 221 age- and gender-matched healthy blood donors. The cumulative copy numbers of the DEFA1/DEFA3 genes were detected by using quantitative PCR analysis. To evaluate the HNP 1-3(human neutrophil peptide 1-3 or α-defensin) levels in the circulation, plasma HNP 1-3 concentrations were measured by ELISA. The expression of DEFA1/A3 in peripheral leukocytes of the diabetic patients was measured by quantitative RT PCR analysis. Three SNPs of the human DEFB1(human defensin β-1) gene: DEFB1 G-20A(rs11362), DEFB1 C-44G(rs1800972) and DEFB1 G-52A(rs1799946) were genotyped by Custom TaqMan? Real Time PCR assay.RESULTS: Significant differences were observed in HNP1-3 levels between the healthy subjects and both groups of diabetic patients. The mean ± SE was 28.78 ± 4.2 ng/mL in type 1 diabetes, and 29.82 ± 5.36 ng/mL in type 2 diabetes, vs 11.94 ± 2.96 ng/mL in controls; P < 0.01 respectively. There was no significant difference between patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in the high plasma concentrations of HNP1-3. The highest concentrations of α-defensin were found in diabetic patients with nephropathy(49.4 ± 4.8 ng/mL), neuropathy(38.7 ± 4.8 ng/mL) or cardiovascular complications(45.6 ± 1.45 ng/L). There was no significant difference in the cumulative copy numbers of DEFA1/DEFA3 genes between controls and patients, or between patients with the two types of diabetes. Comparisons of HNP 1-3 plasma level and DEFA1/A3 copy number of the same patient did not reveal significant relationship between defensin-α levels and the gene copy numbers(r2 = 0.01). Similarly, no positive correlation was observed between the copy numbers and the mRNA expression levels of DEFA1/A3. 11Microfluidic actuators based on temperature-responsive hydrogels显示文摘The concept of using stimuli-responsive hydrogels to actuate fluids in microfluidic devices is particularly attractive,but limitations,in terms of spatial resolution,speed,reliability and integration,have hindered its development during the past two decades.By patterning and grafting poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)PNIPAM hydrogel films on plane substrates with a 2μm horizontal resolution and closing the system afterward,we have succeeded in unblocking bottlenecks that thermo-sensitive hydrogel technology has been challenged with until now.In this paper,we demonstrate,for the first time with this technology,devices with up to 7800 actuated micro-cages that sequester and release solutes,along with valves actuated individually with closing and opening switching times of 0.6±0.1 and 0.25±0.15 s,respectively.Two applications of this technology are illustrated in the domain of single cell handling and the nuclear acid amplification test(NAAT)for the Human Synaptojanin 1 gene,which is suspected to be involved in several neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.The performance of the temperature-responsive hydrogels we demonstrate here suggests that in association with their moderate costs,hydrogels may represent an alternative to the actuation or handling techniques currently used in microfluidics,that are,pressure actuated polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)valves and droplets.Loïc D'Eramo Benjamin Chollet Marie Leman Ekkachai Martwong Mengxing Li Hubert Geisler Jules Dupire Margaux Kerdraon Clémence Vergne Fabrice Monti Yvette Tran Patrick Tabeling 2018Microsystems & Nanoengineering2018,4,1:3

18生活中的通用设计显示文摘包容的设计人人受益,不包容的设计处处设障,许多设计在无意间造成老人、儿童、残障人士、外国人等潜在用户的不能使用或使用不便。包容性设计从价值观和方法论两个层面指导设计过程,通过多种方法工具以及利益相关者参与等手段,在最大程度上扩大设计受益人群,也就是达到一个设计共享的目标。1979年至1982年间,时年20多岁的年轻工业设计师摩尔(Patricia Moore)对自己的关节、听力、视力等进行了人为限制后,扮成一位老妇人游历北美,在此过程中她经常遭到虐待和边缘化,并受到各种歧视。这个社会实验的发现对美国通用设计运动产生了巨大的影响。除了在全球层面存在的老龄化和失能者权利问题之外,还面临着许多其他具有地缘特征的挑战:诸如越来越多的移民和流动人口造成的族群和文化多样性;经济发展失衡和贫富分化;城市化进程对生活方式的影响等。这些问题既是设计研究不得不面对的现实,也是驱动通用设计(Universal Design)和包容性设计(Inclusive Design)发展的社会因素。Yvette 高凤麟(图) 2019设计2019,32,8:2
19高密度微阵列基因芯片技术在微生物分子生态学研究中的运用显示文摘应用基于16S rDNA的高密度微阵列基因芯片(Microarray)技术对膜生物反应器内的微生物多样性进行研究.结果表明,膜生物反应器具有较高的微生物多样性,Microarray共检测到1 019种微生物.Proteobacteria是其中的优势种,共含有657种微生物,占总种群数量的64.5%左右.gamma Proteobacteria是Proteobacteria中的优势种,占35.8%左右,但相对含量一般并不高.betaProteobacteria虽然种群数量稍少,但其在荧光强度最高的前25种和50种微生物中比重最大,分别占40%和36%左右.通过比较微生物的相对荧光强度,发现Clostridia是系统中的优势微生物种属.一些常见的硝化细菌如Nitrosomonadaceae、Nitrospiraceae等也具有较高的含量.Microarray作为一种实时、高效、准确的分子生物学手段,可应用于废水处理中的微生物多样性研究.段亮 夏四清 宋永会 Yvette M.
