Epidemiology of esophageal cancer显示文摘Esophageal cancer(EsC)is one of the least studied and deadliest cancers worldwide because of its extremely aggressive nature and poor survival rate.It ranks sixth among all cancers in mortality. In retrospective studies of EsC,smoking, hot tea drinking, red meat consumption, poor oral health, low intake of fresh fruit and vegetables, and low socioeconomic status have been associated with a higher risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.Barrett’s esophagus is clearly recognized as a risk factor for EsC,and dysplasia remains the only factor useful for identifying patients at increased risk, for the development of esophageal adenocarcinoma in clinical practice. Here,we investigated the epidemiologic patterns and causes of EsC.Using population based cancer data from the Surveillance,Epidemiology and End Results Program of the United States;we generated the most up-to-date stage distribution and 5-year relative survival by stage at diagnosis for 1998-2009.Special note should be given to the fact that esophageal cancer, mainly adenocarcinoma,is one of the very few cancers that is contributing to increasing death rates(20%)among males in the United States. To further explore the mechanism of development of EsC will hopefully decrease the incidence of EsC and improve outcomes. | Yuwei Zhang | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,34: | 74
Transfer efficiency optimal control of magnetic resonance coupled system of wireless power transfer based on frequency control显示文摘In order to suppress the fast decrease of the transfer efficiency of magnetic resonance coupled wireless power transfer system(MRCWPTS) with distance increase, this paper investigates the impact factors of the system transfer efficiency and is,then formulates a new efficiency optimal control method based on frequency control.Based upon this control method two optimal control schemes are designed to achieve transfer efficiency control of the system.Simulations and experiments show that the proposed efficiency optimal control method can effectively stabilize the system transfer efficiency in a certain range so as to successfully solve the subtle issue of transfer efficiency variation with distance. | TAN LinLin HUANG XueLiang HUANG Hui ZOU YuWei LI Hui | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,6: | 41
Cell membrane-based nanoparticles: a new biomimetic platform for tumor diagnosis and treatment显示文摘Taking inspiration from nature, the biomimetic concept has been integrated into drug delivery systems in cancer therapy. Disguised with cell membranes, the nanoparticles can acquire various functions of natural cells. The cell membrane-coating technology has pushed the limits of common nano-systems(fast elimination in circulation) to more effectively navigate within the body. Moreover, because of the various functional molecules on the surface, cell membrane-based nanoparticles(CMBNPs) are capable of interacting with the complex biological microenvironment of the tumor. Various sources of cell membranes have been explored to camouflage CMBNPs and different tumor-targeting strategies have been developed to enhance the anti-tumor drug delivery therapy. In this review article we highlight the most recent advances in CMBNP-based cancer targeting systems and address the challenges and opportunities in this field. | Ruixiang Li Yuwei He Shuya Zhang Jing Qin Jianxin Wang | 2018 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2018,8,1: | 36
Minimal invasive microscopic tooth preparation in esthetic restoration: a specialist consensus显示文摘By removing a part of the structure, the tooth preparation provides restorative space, bonding surface, and finish line for various restorations on abutment.Preparation technique plays critical role in achieving the optimal result of tooth preparation. With successful application of microscope in endodontics for>30 years, there is a full expectation of microscopic dentistry. However,as relatively little progress has been made in the application of microscopic dentistry in prosthodontics, the following assumptions have been proposed:Is it suitable to choose the tooth preparation technique under the naked eye in the microscopic vision? Is there a more accurate preparation technology intended for the microscope? To obtain long-term stable therapeutic effects,is it much easier to achieve maximum tooth preservation and retinal protection and maintain periodontal tissue and oral function health under microscopic vision?Whether the microscopic prosthodontics is a gimmick or a breakthrough in obtaining an ideal tooth preparation should be resolved in microscopic tooth preparation. This article attempts to illustrate the concept, core elements, and indications of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation, physiological basis of dental pulp, periodontium and functions involved in tool preparation, position ergonomics and visual basis for dentists, comparison of tooth preparation by naked eyes and a microscope, and comparison of different designs of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation techniques.Furthermore,a clinical protocol for microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation based on target restorative space guide plate has been put forward and new insights on the quantity and shape of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation has been provided. | Haiyang Yu Yuwei Zhao Junying Li Tian Luo Jing Gao Hongchen Liu Weicai Liu Feng Liu Ke Zhao Fei Liu Chufan Ma Juergen MSetz Shanshan Liang Lin Fan Shanshan Gao Zhuoli Zhu Jiefei Shen Jian Wang Zhimin Zhu Xuedong Zhou | 2019 | International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,4: | 25
Exercise-induced irisin in bone and systemic irisin administration reveal new regulatory mechanisms of bone metabolism显示文摘Irisin is a polypeptide hormone derived from the proteolytic cleavage of fibronectin-type III domaincontaining 5(FNDC5) protein. Once released to circulation upon exercise or cold exposure, irisin stimulates browning of white adipose tissue(WAT) and uncoupling protein 1(UCP1) expression, leading to an increase in total body energy expenditure by augmented UCP1-mediated thermogenesis. It is currently unknown whether irisin is secreted by bone upon exercise or whether it regulates bone metabolism in vivo. In this study, we found that 2 weeks of voluntary wheel-running exercise induced high levels of FNDC5 messenger RNA as well as FNDC5/irisin protein expression in murine bone tissues. Increased immunoreactivity due to exercise-induced FNDC5/irisin expression was detected in different regions of exercised femoral bones, including growth plate, trabecular bone, cortical bone, articular cartilage, and bone–tendon interface. Exercise also increased expression of osteogenic markers in bone and that of UCP1 in WAT, and led to bodyweight loss. Irisin intraperitoneal(IP) administration resulted in increased trabecular and cortical bone thickness and osteoblasts numbers, and concurrently induced UCP1 expression in subcutaneous WAT. Lentiviral FNDC5 IP administration increased cortical bone thickness. In vitro studies in bone cells revealed irisin increases osteoblastogenesis and mineralization, and inhibits receptor activator of nuclear factor-k B ligand(RANKL)-induced osteoclastogenesis. Taken together, our findings show that voluntary exercise increases irisin production in bone, and that an increase in circulating irisin levels enhances osteogenesis in mice. | Jin Zhang Paloma Valverde Xiaofang Zhu Dana Murray Yuwei Wu Liming Yu Hua Jiang Michel M Dard Jin Huang Zhiwei Xu Qisheng Tu Jake Chen | 2017 | Bone Research2017,5,1: | 23

Growth of Nanocrystalline Silicon Films by Helicon Wave Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition显示文摘Nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si) thin films have been prepared by a helicon-wave plasma chemical vapour deposition technique on glass-Si substrates. The structural properties and the surface morphology are characterized by Raman spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy. It is proven that the deposited films have the features of high crystalline fraction and large grain size compared with that in the normal plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition regime. The crystalline fraction of the deposited films varying from 0%to 72% can be obtained by adjusting the substrate temperature. | YUWei WANGBao-Zhu LUWan-Bing YANGYan-Bin HANLi FUGuang-Sheng | 2004 | Chinese Physics Letters2004,21,7: | 16
Toxicities and risk assessment of heavy metals in sediments of Taihu Lake, China, based on sediment quality guidelines显示文摘The occurrence, toxicities, and ecological risks of five heavy metals(Pb, Cu, Cd, Zn and Ni) in the sediment of Taihu Lake were investigated in this study. To evaluate the toxicities caused by the heavy metals, the toxicities induced by organic contaminants and ammonia in the sediments were screened out with activated carbon and zeolite. The toxicities of heavy metals in sediments were tested with benthic invertebrates(tubificid and chironomid). The correlations between toxicity of sediment and the sediment quality guidelines(SQGs)derived previously were evaluated. There were significant correlations(p < 0.0001) between the observed toxicities and the total risk quotients of the heavy metals based on SQGs,indicating that threshold effect level(TEL) and probable effect level(PEL) were reliable to predict the toxicities of heavy metals in the sediments of Taihu Lake. By contrast, the method based on acid volatile sulfides(AVS) and simultaneously extracted metals(SEM),such as ∑SEM/AVS and ∑SEM-AVS, did not show correlations with the toxicities. Moreover, the predictive ability of SQGs was confirmed by a total predicting accuracy of 77%. Ecological risk assessment based on TELs and PELs showed that the contaminations of Pb, Cu, Cd and Zn in the sediments of Taihu Lake were at relatively low or medium levels. The risks caused by heavy metals in the sediments of northern bay of the lake, which received more wastewater discharge from upper stream, were higher than other area of the lake. | Yanfeng Zhang Yuwei Han Jinxi Yang Lingyan Zhu Wenjue Zhong | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,12: | 16
Study on the HPHT synthetic diamond crystal from Fe-C(H) system and its significance显示文摘Investigations of crystal habit, micro-topographic imaging, micro-composition and micro-structural analysis of HPHT synthetic diamonds from the Fe-C(H) system indicate that most of them have an oc-tahedral habit. The crystals grow mainly layer-to-layer from center to periphery. HPHT synthetic dia-mond is smaller in size than natural diamond because it only goes through nucleation and growth in the early stage. In the middle and late stages, due to the coalescence of diamond grains related to dif-ferences of surface energy, the growth of HPHT synthetic diamond is limited. The active energy (E) of transforming single nitrogen into a nitrogen-pair is lowered and the time of transforming single nitro-gen into a nitrogen-pair is shortened because of the existence of hydrogen. Therefore, aggregate ni-trogen (A-centers) may exist in synthetic diamond from HPHT and explosive detonation processes. It needs further discussion on a worldwide view that the time of natural diamond formation extracted from nitrogen aggregation is some hundred million years. Consideration of the way in which surface energy influences the growth of diamond can help to understand some of the remaining issues (e.g. growth mechanism, etc.) in the HPHT synthetic process and effectively explain the formation of natural diamond in terms of HPHT thermodynamic theory. Especially, it is important to pay more attention to the influence of hydrogen on surface energy in that hydrogen may be a 'bridge' for explaining the formation of HPHT synthetic and natural diamond. | YANG ZhiJun LI HongZhong PENG MingSheng CHEN Jun LIN Feng SU YuWei | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,1: | 15
Insight into tribological problems of green ship and corresponding research progresses显示文摘The so-called 'green ship' is being regarded as a potential solution to the problems that the shipping industry faces, such as energy conservation and environmental protection. Some new features, such as integrated renewable energy application, biomimetic materials, and antifriction and wear resistant coating have been accepted as the typical characteristics of a green ship, but the tribology problems involved in these domains have not been precisely redefined yet. Further, the related research work is generally focused on the technology or material itself, but not on the integration of the applicable object or green ship, marine environment, and tribological systematical analysis from the viewpoint of the energy efficiency design index(EEDI) and ship energy efficiency management plan(SEEMP) improvements. Aiming at the tribology problems of the green ship, this paper reviews the research status of this issue from three specific domains, which are the tribology problems of the renewable energy system, tribological research for hull resistance reduction, and energy efficiency enhancement. Some typical tribological problems in the sail-auxiliary system are discussed, along with the solar photovoltaic system and hull drag reduction in traditional marine mechanical equipment. Correspondingly, four domains that should be further considered for the future development target of the green ship are prospected. | Yuwei SUN Xinping YAN Chengqing YUAN Xiuqin BAI | 2018 | Friction2018,6,4: | 12
Potential influence of water level changes on energy flows in a lake food web显示文摘Large seasonal water-level fluctuations may influence isotopic signatures of primary producers and the types and amounts of these potential food sources accessible to aquatic fauna of Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China. In this study, the isotopic signatures of primary producers and consumers were determined, stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis and mixing models were combined to investigate the influence of water levels on the diet and isotopic composition of Poyang Lake fish and invertebrates.Five potential food sources (seston, benthic organic matter, aquatic macrophytes, attached algae, and terrestrial plants),4 species of invertebrates, and 10 species of fish were collected from the lake area during dry and wet seasons between January 2009 and April 2010.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were within the range of δ 13C values of the potential food sources for both seasons. The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were lower in the dry season than in the wet season, whereas the δ 15N values exhibited different patterns for different species.Mixing models indicated that the most important food sources for common lake fauna were seston in the dry season and aquatic macrophytes and terrestrial plants in the wet season. The fauna were more omnivorous in the wet season than in the dry season. The food web dynamics of Poyang Lake are strongly influenced by changes in the abundance and accessibility of different basal food sources that occur because of seasonal flood pulses. The trophic links within the aquatic communities of Poyang Lake are modified by water-level fluctuations. | WANG YuYu YU XiuBo LI WenHua XU Jun CHEN YuWei FAN Na | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26: | 11
Identification and primary genetic analysis of Arabidopsis stomatal mutants in response to multiple stresses显示文摘In response to variable environmental conditions, guard cells located in the leaf epidermis can integrate and cope with a multitude of complicated stimuli, thereby making stomata in an appro- priate state. However, many signaling components in guard cell signaling remain elusive. In our laboratory, a tool for non-invasive remote infrared thermal images was used to screen an ethyl methane sulfonate-mutagenized population for Arabidopsis stomatal response mutants under multiple stresses (ABA, H2O2, CO2, etc.). More than forty 'hot' or 'cold' mutants were isolated (above or below 0.5℃ in con- trast to normal plantlets). Identification and primary genetic analysis of these mutants show that they are monogenic recessive mutations and there exist distinct difference in stomata apertures compared to wild type. These mutants in response to various environmental stresses and hormones were comprehen- sively investigated, which enables us to further un- derstand the cross-talk in different signal transduction pathways. | SONG Yuwei KANG Yanli LIU Hao ZHAO Xiaoliang WANG Pengtao AN Guoyong ZHOU Yun MIAO Chen SONG Chunpeng | 2006 | Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,21: | 11

Synthesis of condensed polynuclear aromatic resin from furfural extract oil of reduced-pressure route Ⅱ显示文摘As an industrial byproduct of oil refining, furfural extract oil from reduced-pressure route Ⅱ with high aromatic content was used to prepare heat-resistant condensed polynuclear aromatic(COPNA) resin for the first time. The basic properties of furfural extract oil and the resultant COPNA resin were characterized by infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and elemental analysis(EA).The result showed that heat treated furfural extract oil was successfully used for the synthesis of heat-resistant COPNA resin. The average structural parameters of raw materials and prepared resin were calculated by the improved Brown-Ladner method, and the averaged molecular structure of the resin was obtained. The reaction mechanism for the synthesis of COPNA resin was suggested as an acid-catalyzed positive ion type polymerization. | Wu Mingbo Jiang Wei Wang Yuwei Li Shibin Zheng Jingtang | 2013 | Petroleum Science2013,10,4: | 10
Synthesis and fluorescent properties in complexes of Eu( Ⅲ), Tb( Ⅲ), and Sm( Ⅲ) with β-diketone and 2,2′-bipyridine显示文摘Three new rare earth ternary complexes, RE(PB)_3bpy (RE=Sm^(3+) , Eu^(3+) , and Tb^(3+) ), were synthesized by the reaction of 1-(p-phenylethynyl- phenyl)-1,3-butanedione (HPB) and 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) with rare earth chloride RECl_3 , respectively, in alcohol solution. The compositions were characterized by means of infrared (IR) spectra, chemical analysis, elemental analysis, and thermodynamic analysis. Luminescent properties of the three complexes were studied. At room temperature, under UV light excitation, the Sm^(3+) , Eu^(3+) , and Tb^(3+) complexes exhibit characteristic emission of the central ions. The fluorescence spectra show that the fluorescence emission intensity of Eu^(3+) complex is the strongest. The narrow strongest emission band of Eu^(3+) complex is considered to be a valuable material with bright red fluorescence. | LIU Xingwang JIANG Jiadong GUO Yuwei YONG Shengli YANG Kun NIE Lu | 2012 | Rare Metals2012,31,5: | 9

Oncogenic AURKA-enhanced N6-methyladenosine modification increases DROSHA mRNA stability to transactivate STC1 in breast cancer stem-like cells显示文摘RNase III DROSHA is upregulated in multiple cancers and contributes to tumor progression by hitherto unclear mechanisms. Here,we demonstrate that DROSHA interacts withβ-Catenin to transactivate STC1 in an RNA cleavage-independent manner, contributing to breast cancer stem-like cell(BCSC)properties.DROSHA mRNA stability is enhanced by N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)modification which is activated by AURKA in BCSCs.AURKA stabilizes METTL14 by inhibiting its ubiquitylation and degradation to promote DROSHA mRNA methylation. Moreover, binding of AURKA to DROSHA transcript further strengthens the binding of the m^(6)A reader IGF2BP2 to stabilize m^(6)A-modified DROSHA.In addition,wild-type DROSHA,but not an m^(6)A methylation-deficient mutant, enhances BCSC stemness maintenance, while inhibition of DROSHA m^(6)A modification attenuates BCSC traits. Our study unveils the AURKA-induced oncogenic m^(6)A modification as a key regulator of DROSHA in breast cancer and identifies a novel DROSHA transcriptional function in promoting the BCSC phenotype. | Fei Peng Jie Xu Bai Cui Qilan Liang Sai Zeng Bin He Hong Zou Manman Li Huan Zhao Yuting Meng Jin Chen Bing Liu Shasha Lv Peng Chu Fan An Zifeng Wang Junxiu Huang Yajing Zhan Yuwei Liao Jinxin Lu Lingzhi Xu Jin Zhang Zhaolin Su Zhiguang Li Fangjun Wang Eric W-FLam Quentin Liu | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,3: | 9
DYNAMIC VARIATIONS OF WATER QUALITY IN TAIHU LAKE AND MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS OF ITS INFLUENTIAL FACTORS显示文摘Dynamic variation of water quality in Meiliang Bay and part of West Taihu Lake has been analysed based on data from 1991 to 1992. Principal Component Analysis is used to reveal the mutual relationships of various factors. It is shown that there existis an obvious spatial and temporal variation in the main factors of water quality. Annual values of TP, CON, TN, Chl-a and conductivity decrease evidently from inner Meiliang Bay to the outer from north to south. TP and TN fluctuate seasonally with much higher value in winter. This is particularly true for the mouth of Liangxi River. In addition, the Chl-1 has a synchronous variation with water temperature, although being lagged a little, and closely relates to TP and TN. Finally, the results from Principal Component Analysis show that TP, TN, SS (or SD), water temperature and Chl-a are the most influential factors to water qualuty in this area, and both suspensions and algae can contribute to transparency to Taihu Lake. | Cai Qiming Gao Xiyun Chen Yuwei Ma Shengwei Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, CAS, Nanjing 210008 People’s Republic of ChinaMartin Dokulil Institute of Limnology, Austria | 1997 | Journal of Geographical Sciences1997,7,3: | 9
Epidemiological and etiological investigation of dengue fever in the Fujian province of China during 2004–2014显示文摘Dengue fever(DF) is a vector-borne disease and a tremendous socioeconomic burden on tropical and subtropical countries worldwide. To explore the characteristics of DF epidemic in the Fujian province, information of DF cases in Fujian during 2004–2014 was collected and analyzed. The complete E genes of 48 viral isolates were amplified and sequenced for phylogenetic analysis. A total of 733 cases was reported, of which 612(83.5%) occurred during the peak period from August to October. Additionally, 76%(190/250) of imported cases originated from Southeast Asia countries, by the epidemiological investigation. Phylogenetic analysis of the 48 viral isolates revealed that three genotypes(I, IV, V) of DENV1, and one genotype each of DENV2(cosmopolitan) and DENV3(I) circulated in Fujian during 2004–2014. Similar to the results of the epidemiological investigations, the source of most of the viral isolates, including imported and indigenous cases, may be Southeast Asia countries; however, importation from adjacent provinces was also observed in recent years. Overall, DF is considered an imported epidemic disease in Fujian. Increasing diversity of the viral source and geographic expansion of the area affected by DF in recent years highlights the necessity for strengthening surveillance of the DF epidemic and developing strategies for DF prevention and control in Fujian. | Jinzhang Wang Hongbing Chen Meng Huang Yongjun Zhang Jianfeng Xie Yansheng Yan Kuicheng Zheng Yuwei Weng | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,1: | 9
Performance of bimetallic nanoscale zero-valent iron particles for removal of oxytetracycline显示文摘In this study, bimetallic nanoscale zero-valent iron particles(nZVI), including copper/nanoscale zero-valent iron particles(Cu/nZVI) and nickel/nanoscale zero-valent iron particles(Ni/nZVI), were synthesized by one-step liquid-phase reduction and applied for oxytetracycline(OTC) removal. The effects of contact time and initial p H on the removal efficiency were studied. The as-prepared nanoscale particles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). Finally, the degradation mechanisms of OTC utilizing the as-prepared nanoparticles were investigated by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and mass spectrometry(MS). Cu/n ZVI presented remarkable ability for OTC degradation and removed71.44% of OTC(100 mg/L) in 4 hr, while only 62.34% and 31.05% of OTC was degraded by Ni/nZVI and nZVI respectively. XPS and MS analysis suggested that OTC was broken down to form small molecules by ·OH radicals generated from the corrosion of Fe0. Cu/nZVI and Ni/n ZVI have been proved to have potential as materials for application in OTC removal because of their significant degradation ability toward OTC. | Yuwei Wu Qinyan Yue Yuan Gao Zhongfei Ren Baoyu Gao | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,7: | 9
