1Human enamel thickness and ENAM polymorphism显示文摘The tooth enamel development gene, enamelin(ENAM), showed evidence of positive selection during a genome-wide scan of human and primate DNA for signs of adaptive evolution. The current study examined the hypothesis that a single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) C14625T(rs7671281) in the ENAM gene identified in the genome-wide scan is associated with a change in enamel phenotype. African Americans were selected as the target population, as they have been reported to have a target SNP frequency of approximately 50%, whereas non-Africans are predicted to have a 96% SNP frequency. Digital radiographs and DNA samples from 244 teeth in 133 subjects were analysed, and enamel thickness was assessed in relation to SNP status,controlling for age, sex, tooth number and crown length. Crown length was found to increase with molar number, and females were found to have thicker enamel. Teeth with larger crowns also had thicker enamel, and older subjects had thinner enamel.Linear regression and generalized estimating equations were used to investigate the relationship between enamel thickness of the mandibular molars and ENAM SNP status; enamel in subjects with the derived allele was significantly thinner(P = 0.040)when the results were controlled for sex, age, tooth number and crown length. The derived allele demonstrated a recessive effect on the phenotype. The data indicate that thinner dental enamel is associated with the derived ENAM genotype. 16Negative thermal expansion in one-dimension of a new double sulfate AgHo(SO_(4))_(2)with isolated SO_4 tetrahedra显示文摘A double holmium-silver sulfate was obtained for the first time.The temperature intervals for the formation and stability of the compound were determined by differential scanning calorimetry.The crystal structure of AgHo(SO_(4))_(2)was determined by Rietveld method.The X-ray diffraction(XRD)analysis showed that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic syngony,space group P2_1/m,with the unit cell parameters a=4.71751(4)A,b=6.84940(6)A and c=9.89528(9)A,β=95.1466(4)·,V=318.448(5)A^(3),Z=2,R_B=1.55%,T=303 K.Two types of sulfate tetrahedra were found in the structure,which significantly affected the spectral properties in the infrared range.In the temperature range of 143-703 K,a negative thermal expansion along the b direction accompanied by a positive thermal expansion along the a and c directions was observed.It was established that negative thermal expansion is the result of the deformation of sulfate tetrahedra,which is affected by the movement of holmium and silver atoms.The excitation in the blue spectral range(457.9 nm)produces a luminescence in light blue(489 nm),green(545 nm)and red(654 nm)spectral ranges,and the latter two were of comparable intensity that is favorable for WLED sources.The observed luminescent band distribution is ascribed to the specific crystal field at Ho^(3+)ion sites rather than a variation of radiationless probability.Yuriy G.Denisenko Victor V.Atuchin Maxim S.Molokeev Naizheng Wang Xingxing Jiang Aleksandr S.Aleksandrovsky Alexander S.Krylov Aleksandr S.Oreshonkov Alexander E.Sedykh Svetlana S.Volkova Zheshuai Lin Oleg V.Andreev Klaus Müller-Buschbaum 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,17:0
17ApoB-containing lipoproteins promote infectivity of chlamydial species in human hepatoma cell line显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the direct binding of two main chlamydial biovars(C.trachomatis and C.pneumoniae) to plasma lipoproteins and its effect on chlamydial infection rate in human hepatoma cell line(HepG2 cells). METHODS:Murine plasma lipoproteins were fractionated and isolated using fast-performance liquid chromatography(FPLC),spotted on nitrocellulose membrane and incubated with chlamydial suspensions. Direct binding of chlamydial particles to lipoprotein fractions has been studied using lipopolysaccharide-specific antibodies in immuno-dot blot binding assay and immunoprecipitation analysis.Immunostaining protocol as well as flow cytometry analysis have been employed to study the infectivity rate of chlamydial species in HepG2 cells. RESULTS:Elementary bodies of both C.trachomatis and C.pneumoniae bind ApoB-containing fractions of plasma lipoproteins.That binding becomes stronger when heat-denatured FPLC fractions are used, suggesting a primary role of apolipoproteins in interaction between chlamydial particle and lipoprotein. Both chlamydial biovars efficiently propagate in human hepatoma cell line-HepG2 cells even in serum free conditions forming late-stage inclusion bodies and releasing extracellular elementary bodies.Preincubation of C.trachomatis and C.pneumoniae with native ApoB-containing lipoproteins enhances the rate of chlamydial infection in HepG2 cells.CONCLUSION:A productive infection caused by C. trachomatis and C.pneumoniae may take place in human-derived hepatocytes revealing hepatic cells as possible target in chlamydial infection.Obtained results may suggest the participation of lipoprotein receptors in the mechanism of attachment and/or entry of chlamydial particles into target cells.Yuriy K Bashmakov Nailia A Zigangirova Alexander L Gintzburg Petr A Bortsov Ivan M Petyaev 2010World Journal of Hepatology2010,2,2:0
