The specific contribution of object's origin on artifacts categorization显示文摘Gelman and Bloom found that adults and children's object naming was sensitive to how an object was created (man-made or not), but they did not reveal on which specific level of conceptual system this effect was. Using a free-naming task and a force-choice task, two experiments were conducted to test a hypothesis that this effect was specifically on domain level ('artifact/non-artifact' distinction). In Experiment 1, participants were asked to name shortly-depicted objects, rate their confidence, and report their reasons for each naming response. Results showed that most of the naming responses in 'man-made' condition were in artifact domain, and most in 'natural' condition were in non-artifact domain, although in both conditions names were very divergent on basic level. In Experiment 2, another group of participants were asked to choose one from two names (one in artifact domain and the other in non-artifact domain) to match the same shortly-depicted objects presented in the first experiment. Re-sults of Experiment 1 on domain level were replicated in Experiment 2. These convergent findings supported the hypothesis that the effect of object's origin is specifically on domain level of conceptual system of objects. Reasons explicitly reported for naming responses in Experiment 1 suggested that participants might automatically infer objects' functions in 'man-made' condition but not in 'natural' condition. Here the function-based hypothesis of artifacts classification is discussed. | SUN Yuhao WANG Zhe FU Xiaolan | 2006 | Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,23: | 3
Band structure engineering through van der Waals heterostructing superlattices of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides显示文摘The indirect-to-direct band-gap transition in transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)from bulk to monolayer, accompanying with other unique properties of two-dimensional materials, has endowed them great potential in optoelectronic devices. The easy transferability and feasible epitaxial growth pave a promising way to further tune the optical properties by constructing van der Waals heterostructures. Here,we performed a systematic high-throughput first-principles study of electronic structure and optical properties of the layerby-layer stacking TMDCs heterostructing superlattices, with the configuration space of[(MX2)n(M0X02)10−n](M/M0=Cr,Mo,W;X/X0=S,Se,Te;n=0-10).Our calculations involving long-range dispersive interaction show that the indirect-to-direct band-gap transition or even semiconductor-to-metal transition can be realized by changing component compositions of superlattices.Further analysis indicates that the indirect-to-direct band-gap transition can be ascribed to the in-plane strain induced by lattice mismatch. The semiconductor-to-metal transition may be attributed to the band offset among different components that is modified by the in-plane strain. The superlattices with direct band-gap show quite weak band-gap optical transition because of the spacial separation of the electronic states involved. In general, the layers stacking-order of superlattices results in a small up to 0.2 eV band gap fluctuation because of the built-in potential. Our results provide useful guidance for engineering band structure and optical properties in TMDCs heterostructing superlattices. | Xin-Gang Zhao Zhiming Shi Xinjiang Wang Hongshuai Zou Yuhao Fu Lijun Zhang | 2021 | InfoMat2021,3,2: | 2
Spontaneous low-temperature crystallization of α-FAPbI3 for highly efficient perovskite solar cells显示文摘Formamidinium lead triiodide(HC(NH2)2PbI3 or FAPbI3)is a promising light absorber for high-efficiency perovskite solar cells because of its superior light absorption range and thermal stability to CH3NH3PbI3(MAPbI3).Unfortunately,it is difficult to fabricate high-quality FAPbI3 thin films to surpass the MAPbI3-based cells due to easily forming unwanted but more stable yellow d-phase and thus requiring high annealing-temperature for wanted photovoltaic-active black a-phase.Herein,we reported a novel low-temperature fabrication of highly crystallized a-FAPbI3 film exhibiting uniaxial-oriented nature with large grain sizes up to 2 lm.First-principles energetic calculations predicted that this novel deposition should be ascribed to the formation of a high-energy metastable two-dimensional(2D)intermediate of MAFAPbI3 Cl followed by a spontaneous conversion to a-FAPbI3.The ions exchange reaction during this MAFAPbI3 Cl-FAPbI3 conversion account for the perovskite film uniaxial-oriented grown along the(111)direction.This large-grain and uniaxial-oriented grown a-FAPbI3 based solar cells exhibited an efficiency up to 20.4%accompanying with low density-voltage(J-V)hysteresis and high stability. | Taiyang Zhang Qiaoling Xu Feng Xu Yuhao Fu Yong Wang Yanfa Yan Lijun Zhang Yixin Zhao | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,21: | 2
Exploration of B-site alloying in partially reducing Pb toxicity and regulating thermodynamic stability and electronic properties of halide perovskites显示文摘Alloying strategies provide a high degree of freedom for reducing lead toxicity, improving thermodynamic stability, tuning the optoelectronic properties of ABX3 halide perovskites by varying the alloying element species and their contents.Given the key role of B-site cations in contributing band edge states and modulating structure factors in halide perovskites, the partial replacement of Pb2+with different B-site metal ions has been proposed.Although several experimental attempts have been made to date, the effect of B-site alloying on the stability and electronic properties of halide perovskites has not been fully explored.Herein,we take cubic CsPbBr3 perovskite as the prototype material and systematically explore the effects of B-site alloying on Pb-containing perovskites.According to the presence or absence of the corresponding perovskite phase, the ten alloying elements investigated are classified into three types(i.e.,Type Ⅰ:Sn Ge,Ca,Sr;Type Ⅱ:Cd,Mg,Mn;Type Ⅲ:Ba,Zn,Cu).Based on the first-principles calculations,we obtain the following conclusions.First, these B-site alloys will exist as disordered solid solutions rather than ordered structures at room temperature throughout the composition space.Second, the alloying of Sn and Ge enhances the thermodynamic stability of the cubic perovskite host, whereas the alloying of the other elements has no remarkable effect on the thermodynamic stability of the cubic perovskite host.Third, the underlying physical mechanism for bandgap tuning can be attributed to the atomic orbital energy mismatch or quantum confinement effect.Fourth, the alloying of different elements demonstrates the diversity in the regulation of crystal structure and electronic properties, indicating potential applications in photovoltaic s and self-trapped exciton-based light-emitting applications. Our work provides theoretical guidance for using alloying strategies to reduce lead toxicity, enhance stability, and optimize the electronic properties of halide perovskites to meet the needs of optoelectronic applications. | Xinjiang Wang Muhammad Faizan Kun Zhou Hongshuai Zou Qiaoling Xu Yuhao Fu Lijun Zhang | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,3: | 1
Light-Induced Heat Driving Active Ion Transport Based on 2D MXene Nanofluids for Enhancing Osmotic Energy Conversion显示文摘Osmotic energy from the ocean, also called blue energy, serves as a clean, renewable, and vast energy source for the energy demands of the world.Reverse electrodialysis-based blue energy harvesting via ion-selective membranes,by the regulation and manipulation of directional ion transport, has been greatly developed recently. In particular, light has been employed to enhance directional ion transport for energy conversion through an increase in photo-induced surface charge. Here, the authors demonstrate a novel nanofluidic regulation strategy based on the phenomenon of light-induced heat-driven active ion transport through the lamellar MXene membrane.Due to the great light-induced heat effect,a temperature gradient appears as soon as illumination is applied to an off-center position, inducing an actively temperature gradient-driven ionic species transport.By employing this phenomenon, the authors conducted light-induced heat-enhanced osmotic energy conversion and doubled the osmotic energy conversion power density. This study has extended the scope of light-enhanced osmotic energy conversion and could further bring other photothermal materials into this field.Furthermore, the proposed system provides a new avenue of light-controlled ionic transport for ion gathering, desalination, and energy conversion applications. | Pei Liu Teng Zhou Yunfei Teng Lin Fu Yuhao Hu Xiangbin Lin Xiang-Yu Kong Lei Jiang Liping Wen | 2021 | CCS Chemistry2021,3,4: | 1
Naturally-formed objects categorized as artifacts:Effect of objects' functional depictions显示文摘Past research has identified a variety of factors that influence cognitive processing of artifact concepts, but few experiments tested possible interactive patterns among these factors. Using a natural language depiction based free naming task, we explored how an object's function and its history (information about how an object was formed by natural force) interact to affect categorization judgment in a 2×2 betweensubjects experiment (N = 169). The study had two key findings: (i) Without presenting an object's function, presenting the history of its natural formation increased subjects' tendency to name the object under the 'natural' domain and decreased their tendency to name it under the 'artifact' domain; (ii) once we presented the depiction of an object's function, the effect of history presentation on categorization disappeared:Subjects in both conditions strongly preferred naming objects as artifacts. In summary, presenting depiction of an object's function inhibited the effect of history on object categorization. Current findings suggest that an object's function plays a fundamental role in the cognitive processing of artifact concepts. | SUN YuHao WANG Zhe LIU Ye FU XiaoLan | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,4: | 1
Manipulating cavity photon dynamics by topologically curved space显示文摘Asymmetric microcavities supporting Whispering-gallery modes(WGMs)are of great significance for on-chip optical information processing. We establish asymmetric microcavities on topologically curved surfaces, where the geodesic light trajectories completely reconstruct the cavity mode features. The curvature-mediated photon-lifetime engineering enables the enhancement of the quality factors of periodic island modes by up to 200 times.Strong and weak coupling between modes of very different origins occurs when the space curvature brings them into resonance, leading to fine tailoring of the cavity photon energy and lifetime and the observation of non-Hermitian exceptional point(EP).At large space curvatures, the role of the WGMs is replaced by high-Q periodic modes protected by the high stability of island-like light trajectory. Our work demonstrates interesting physical mechanisms at the crosspoint of optical chaotic dynamics,non-Hermitian physics, and geodesic optical devices, and would initiate the novel area of geodesic microcavity photonics. | Yongsheng Wang Yuhao Ren Xiaoxuan Luo Bo Li Zaoyu Chen Zhenzhi Liu Fu Liu Yin Cai Yanpeng Zhang Jin Liu Feng Li | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,11: | 1
Engineering Multi‑field‑coupled Synergistic Ion Transport System Based on the Heterogeneous Nanofluidic Membrane for High‑Efficient Lithium Extraction显示文摘The global carbon neutrality strategy brings a wave of rechargeable lithium‐ion batteries technique development and induces an ever-growing consumption and demand for lithium(Li).Among all the Li exploitation, extracting Li from spent LIBs would be a strategic and perspective approach, especially with the low energy consumption and eco-friendly membrane separation method. However, current membrane separation systems mainly focus on monotonous membrane design and structure optimization, and rarely further consider the coordination of inherent structure and applied external field, resulting in limited ion transport. Here,we propose a heterogeneous nanofluidic membrane as a platform for coupling multi-external fields(i.e.,lightinduced heat, electrical, and concentration gradient fields)to construct the multi-field-coupled synergistic ion transport system(MSITS)for Li-ion extraction from spent LIBs.The Li flux of the MSITS reaches 367.4 mmol m^(−2)h^(−1),even higher than the sum flux of those applied individual fields, reflecting synergistic enhancement for ion transport of the multi-field-coupled effect.Benefiting from the adaptation of membrane structure and multi-external fields, the proposed system exhibits ultrahigh selectivity with a Li^(+)/Co^(2+)factor of 216,412,outperforming previous reports.MSITS based on nanofluidic membrane proves to be a promising ion transport strategy,as it could accelerate ion transmembrane transport and alleviate the ion concentration polarization effect. This work demonstrated a collaborative system equipped with an optimized membrane for high-efficient Li extraction, providing an expanded strategy to investigate the other membrane-based applications of their common similarities in core concepts. | Lin Fu Yuhao Hu Xiangbin Lin Qingchen Wang Linsen Yang Weiwen Xin Shengyang Zhou Yongchao Qian Xiang‑Yu Kong Lei Jiang Liping Wen | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8: | 1

Method for the extraction of circulating nucleic acids based on MOF reveals cell-free RNA signatures in liver cancer显示文摘Cell-free RNA(cf RNA) allows assessment of health, status, and phenotype of a variety of human organs and is a potential biomarker to non-invasively diagnose numerous diseases. Nevertheless, there is a lack of highly efficient and bias-free cf RNA isolation technologies due to the low abundance and instability of cf RNA.Here, we developed a reproducible and high-efficiency isolation technology for different types of cell-free nucleic acids(containing cf RNA and viral RNA) in serum/plasma based on the inclusion of nucleic acids by metal-organic framework(MOF) materials, which greatly improved the isolation efficiency and was able to preserve RNA integrity compared with the most widely used research kit method. Importantly, the quality of cf RNA extracted by the MOF method is about 10-fold that of the kit method, and the MOF method isolates more than three times as many different RNA types as the kit method. The whole transcriptome mapping characteristics of cf RNA in serum from patients with liver cancer was described and a cf RNA signature with six cf RNAs was identified to diagnose liver cancer with high diagnostic efficiency(area under curve = 0.905 in the independent validation cohort) using this MOF method. Thus, this new MOF isolation technique will advance the field of liquid biopsy, with the potential to diagnose liver cancer. | Yuqing Sun Haixin Yu Shaoqing Han Ruoxi Ran Ying Yang Yongling Tang Yuhao Wang Wenhao Zhang Heng Tang Boqiao Fu Boshi Fu Xiaocheng Weng Song-Mei Liu Hexiang Deng Shuang Peng Xiang Zhou | 2024 | National Science Review2024,11,1: | 0
Experimental study of primary and secondary side coupling natural convection heat transfer characteristics of the passive residual heat removal system in AP1000显示文摘Passive residual heat removal heat exchanger(PRHR HX),which is a newly designed equipment in the advanced reactors of AP1000 and CAP1400,plays an important role in critical accidental conditions. The primary and secondary side coupling heat transfer characteristics of the passive residual heat removal system(PRHRS)determine the capacity to remove core decay heat during the accidents. Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the heat transfer characteristics and develop applicable heat transfer formulas for optimized design. In the present paper,an overall scaled-down natural circulation loop of PRHRS in AP1000,which comprises a scaleddown in-containment refueling water storage tank(IRWST)and PRHR HX models and a simulator of the reactor core,is built to simulate the natural circulation process in residual heat removal accidents.A series of experiments are conducted to study thermal-hydraulic behaviors in both sides of the miniaturized PRHR HX which is simulated by 12 symmetric arranged C-shape tubes. For the local PRHR HX heat transfer performance, traditional natural convection correlations for both the horizontal and vertical bundles are compared with the experimental data to validate their applicability for the specific heat transfer condition. Moreover, the revised natural convection heat transfer correlations based on the present experimental data are developed for PRHR HX vertical and lower horizontal bundles. This paper provides essential references for the PRHRS operation and further optimized design. | Zhimin QIU Daogang LU Jingpin FU Li FENG Yuhao ZHANG | 2021 | Frontiers in Energy2021,15,4: | 0
Alloy-induced reduction and anisotropy change of lattice thermal conductivity in Ruddlesden–Popper phase halide perovskites显示文摘The effective modulation of the thermal conductivity of halide perovskites is of great importance in optimizing their optoelectronic device performance.Based on first-principles lattice dynamics calculations,we found that alloying at the B and X sites can significantly modulate the thermal transport properties of 2D Ruddlesden−Popper(RP)phase halide perovskites, achieving a range of lattice thermal conductivity values from the lowest(κ_(c)=0.05 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)@Cs_(4)AgBiI_(8))to the highest(κ_(a/b)=0.95 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)@Cs4NaBiCl_(4)I_(4)).Compared with the pure RP-phase halide perovskites and three-dimensional halide perovskite alloys, the two-dimensional halide perovskite introduces more phonon branches through alloying, resulting in stronger phonon branch coupling, which effectively scatters phonons and reduces thermal conductivity.Alloying can also dramatically regulate the thermal transport anisotropy of RP-phase halide perovskites, with the anisotropy ratio ranging from 1.22 to 4.13.Subsequently,analysis of the phonon transport modes in these structures revealed that the lower phonon velocity and shorter phonon lifetime were the main reasons for their low thermal conductivity. This work further reduces the lattice thermal conductivity of 2D pure RP-phase halide perovskites by alloying methods and provides a strong support for theoretical guidance by gaining insight into the interesting phonon transport phenomena in these compounds. | Huimin Mu Kun Zhou Fuyu Tian Yansong Zhou Guoqi Zhao Yuhao Fu Lijun Zhang | 2023 | Frontiers of physics2023,18,6: | 0
Calcium-chelating peptides from rabbit bone collagen:characterization, identification and mechanism elucidation显示文摘This study aimed to characterize and identify calcium-chelating peptides from rabbit bone collagen and explore the underlying chelating mechanism.Collagen peptides and calcium were extracted from rabbit bone by instant ejection steam explosion(ICSE)combined with enzymatic hydrolysis, followed by chelation reaction to prepare rabbit bone peptide-calcium chelate(RBCP-Ca).The chelating sites were further analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass(LC-MS/MS)spectrometry while the chelating mechanism and binding modes were investigated. The structural characterization revealed that RBCP successfully chelated with calcium ions.Furthermore,LC-MS/MS analysis indicated that the binding sites included both acidic amino acids(Asp and Glu)and basic amino acids(Lys and Arg),Interestingly, three binding modes, namely Inter-Linking,Loop-Linking and Mono-Linking were for the first time found, while Inter-Linking mode accounted for the highest proportion(75.1%),suggesting that chelation of calcium ions frequently occurred between two peptides.Overall, this study provides a theoretical basis for the elucidation of chelation mechanism of calcium-chelating peptides. | Fuhuan Yuan Yu Fu Liang Ma Hankun Zhu Yong Yu Xin Feng Yi Sun Hongjie Dai Xin Liu Zhengfang Liu Yuhao Zhang | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3: | 0
Comparison of immune responses and intestinal flora in epicutaneously sensitized BALB/c or C57BL/6 mouse models of food allergy显示文摘Cutaneous exposure to food allergens through a disrupted skin barrier is recognized as an important cause of food allergy, and the cutaneous sensitized mouse model has been established to investigate relevant allergic disorders. However, the role of different genetic backgrounds of mice on immune responses to food allergens upon epicutaneous sensitization is largely unknown. In this study, two strains of mice,i.e.,the BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice, were epicutaneously sensitized with ovalbumin on atopic dermatitis(AD)-like skin lesions, followed by intragastric challenge to induce IgE-mediated food allergy.Allergic outcomes were measured as clinical signs, specific antibodies and cytokines, and immune cell subpopulations,as well as changes in intestinal barrier function and gut microbiota. Results showed that both strains of mice exhibited typical food-allergic symptoms with a Th2-skewed response. The C57BL/6 mice, rather than the BALB/c mice, were fitter for establishing an epicutaneously sensitized model of food allergy since a stronger Th2-biased response and severer disruptions in the intestinal barrier and gut homeostasis were observed. This study provides knowledge for selecting an appropriate mouse model to study food-allergic responses associated with AD-like skin lesions and highlights the role of genetic variations in the immune mechanism underlying pathogenesis of food allergy. | Gang Yu Yuhao Jiang Shuifeng Zhang Pengpeng Liu Shunyu Wang Huadong Sheng Yanbo Wang Qiaozhi Zhang Linglin Fu | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,2: | 0

Lightweight Cross-Modal Multispectral Pedestrian Detection Based on Spatial Reweighted Attention Mechanism显示文摘Multispectral pedestrian detection technology leverages infrared images to provide reliable information for visible light images, demonstrating significant advantages in low-light conditions and background occlusion scenarios. However, while continuously improving cross-modal feature extraction and fusion, ensuring the model’s detection speed is also a challenging issue. We have devised a deep learning network model for cross-modal pedestrian detection based on Resnet50, aiming to focus on more reliable features and enhance the model’s detection efficiency. This model employs a spatial attention mechanism to reweight the input visible light and infrared image data, enhancing the model’s focus on different spatial positions and sharing the weighted feature data across different modalities, thereby reducing the interference of multi-modal features. Subsequently, lightweight modules with depthwise separable convolution are incorporated to reduce the model’s parameter count and computational load through channel-wise and point-wise convolutions. The network model algorithm proposed in this paper was experimentally validated on the publicly available KAIST dataset and compared with other existing methods. The experimental results demonstrate that our approach achieves favorable performance in various complex environments, affirming the effectiveness of the multispectral pedestrian detection technology proposed in this paper. | Lujuan Deng Ruochong Fu Zuhe Li Boyi Liu Mengze Xue Yuhao Cui | 2024 | Computers, Materials & Continua2024,78,3: | 0
Gut microbiota research nexus:One Health relationshipbetween human, animal, and environmental resistomes显示文摘The emergence and rapid spread of antimicrobial resistance is of global public health concern. The gut microbiota harboring diverse commensal and opportunistic bacteria that can acquire resistance via horizontal and vertical gene transfers is considered an important reservoir and sink of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs).In this review,we describe the reservoirs of gut ARGs and their dynamics in both animals and humans, use the One Health perspective to track the transmission of ARG-containing bacteria between humans, animals, and the environment, and assess the impact of antimicrobial resistance on human health and socioeconomic development. The gut resistome can evolve in an environment subject to various selective pressures, including antibiotic administration and environmental and lifestyle factors(e.g.,diet,age,gender,and living conditions),and interventions through probiotics.Strategies to reduce the abundance of clinically relevant antibiotic-resistant bacteria and their resistance determinants in various environmental niches are needed to ensure the mitigation of acquired antibiotic resistance. With the help of effective measures taken at the national, local, personal, and intestinal management,it will also result in preventing or minimizing the spread of infectious diseases. This review aims to improve our understanding of the correlations between intestinal microbiota and antimicrobial resistance and provide a basis for the development of management strategies to mitigate the antimicrobial resistance crisis. | Yuhao Fu Qingyuan Dou Kornelia Smalla Yu Wang Timothy A.Johnson Kristian K.Brandt Zhi Mei Maoyuan Liao Syed A.Hashsham Andreas Schäffer Hauke Smidt Tong Zhang Hui Li Robert Stedtfeld Hongjie Sheng Benli Chai Marko Virta Xin Jiang Fang Wang Yong-Guan Zhu James M.Tiedje | 2023 | mLife2023,2,4: | 0
