| 4 | Mining,characterization,and exploitation of EST-derived microsatellites in Gossypium barbadense显示文摘Simple sequence repeats(SSRs) have been widely applied as molecular markers in genetic studies.However,the number of expressed sequence tags(ESTs) and SSR markers from Gossypium barbadense is fewer than those from other cotton species.In this study,EST-SSR distribution from G.barbadense was characterized and new G.barbadense-derived EST-SSR markers were determined on the basis of the ESTs obtained by randomly sequencing 2 cDNA libraries associated with fiber development in G.barbadense.By mining 9697 non-redundant ESTs,a total of 638 SSR loci derived from 595 ESTs were observed.In G.barbadense,the frequency of ESTs containing SSRs was 6.13%,with an average of 1 SSR in every 10.4 kb of EST sequence.Furthermore,trinucleotide was found to be the most abundant repeat type among 2-6-nucleotide repeat types.It accounted for 26.6% of the total,followed by the hexanucleotide(26.0%) and pentanucleotide repeats(25.9%).Among all the repeat motifs,(AAG)n accounted for the highest proportion.EST-SSR primer pairs were developed using the Primer3 program,and the redundant primers were removed using the virtual PCR approach.As a result,380 non-redundant EST-SSR primer pairs were developed and used to detect polymorphisms between the mapping parents G.hirsutum 'TM-1' and G.barbadense 'Hai7124' for constructing linkage groups in cultivated allotetraploid cotton.Out of these,98(25.8%) primer pairs detected polymorphisms.Finally,95 polymorphic loci from 82 primer pairs were integrated into the backbone genetic map;of these,42 were mapped into the A subgenome and 53 into the D subgenome.The present work provided the foundation for constructing saturated genetic maps and conducting comparative genomic studies on different cotton species. | LU YuanDa CAI CaiPing WANG Lei LIN ShaoYan ZHAO Liang TIAN LiangLiang LU JunHong ZHANG TianZhen GUO WangZhen | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,18: | 5 |
| 5 | An acoustic-wave theory for casing bond evaluation using viscoelastic slip boundary modeling显示文摘Slip boundary condition is commonly utilized to model elastic wave propagation through layered earth media. The same approach is used here to characterize acoustic wave propagation along a cased borehole with various cement bond conditions. By modeling the cement layer between casing and formation as a viscoelastic slip interface with complex coupling rigidity parameters, one can not only reduce the complexity in the classical elastic wave modeling of the problem, but also efficiently model various complicated wave phenomena that are difficult for the existing modeling. More specifically, the new theory can well describe the effect of the cement bond condition change and the location of the change(i.e., whether it is in the first interface between casing and cement, or the second interface between cement and formation) on the acoustic waves,demonstrating the good modeling capability and predicting power. | 7 | Mssbauer Spectroscopic Studies on a Supersaturated Solid Solution of Fe-Cu Formed by Mechanical Alloying显示文摘Mechanical alloying (MA) was employed to produce supersaturated solid solutions of Fe1-xCux,which is virtually immiscible under an equilibrium condition at ambjent temperature. The X-ray diffraction results show that the solutions formed in the concentration ranges of x≤0.1 5 and x≥0.40 are of bcc structure of iron and fcc structure of copper. respectively. For the region in between.however, the alloy obtained is a mixture of bcc plus fcc phases. The Mossbauer spectrum of the solid solution of a single phase could be fitted by two sub-spectra with hyperfine magnetic fields of 200 and 250 kOe. respectively. suggesting that there must exist two forms of coordination in the solution. While to fit the spectrum for the solution with mixed structu re. three Sub-spectra. including a spectrum of α-Fe, should be used. The variation of the Mossbauer spectra of Fe60Cu40 with milling time as well as annealing temperature was systematically studied. | 9 | Late Holocene hydroclimatic variations and possible forcing mechanisms over the eastern Central Asia显示文摘Hydroclimatic variations over the eastern Central Asia are highly sensitive to changes in hemispheric-scale atmospheric circulation systems. To fully understand the long-term variability and relationship between hydroclimate and atmospheric circulation system, we present a high-resolution lascustrine record of late Holocene hydroclimate from Lake Sayram, Central Tianshan Mountains, China, based on the total organic carbon, total nitrogen, and carbonate contents, carbon/nitrogen ratios, and grain size. Our results reveal four periods of substantially increased precipitation at the interval of 4000–3780, 3590–3210, 2800–2160, and 890–280 cal yr BP, and one period of slightly increased precipitation from 1700–1370 cal yr BP. These wetter periods broadly coincide with those identified in other records from the mid-latitude Westerlies-dominated eastern Central Asia, including the northern Tibetan Plateau. As such, a similar hydroclimatic pattern existed over this entire region during the late Holocene. Based on a close similarity of our record with reconstruction of North Atlantic Oscillation indices and solar irradiance, we propose that decreased solar irradiance and southern migration of the entire circum-North Atlantic circulation system, particularly the main pathway of the mid-latitude Westerlies, significantly influenced hydroclimate in eastern Central Asia during the late Holocene. | 13 | Interference at the single-photon level based on silica photonics robust against channel disturbance显示文摘Quantum key distribution(QKD) provides a solution for communication of unconditional security. However,the quantum channel disturbance in the field severely increases the quantum bit-error rate, degrading the performance of a QKD system. Here we present a setup comprising silica planar light wave circuits(PLCs), which is robust against the channel polarization disturbance. Our PLCs are based on the asymmetric Mach–Zehnder interferometer(AMZI), integrated with a tunable power splitter and thermo-optic phase modulators. The polarization characteristics of the AMZI PLC are investigated by a novel pulse self-interfering method to determine the operation temperature of implementing polarization insensitivity. Over a 20 km fiber channel with 30 Hz polarization scrambling, our time-bin phase-encoding QKD setup is characterized with an interference fringe visibility of 98.72%. | 17 | Autonomous landing scene recognition based on transfer learning for drones显示文摘In this paper, we study autonomous landing scene recognition with knowledge transfer for drones. Considering the difficulties in aerial remote sensing, especially that some scenes are extremely similar, or the same scene has different representations in different altitudes, we employ a deep convolutional neural network(CNN) based on knowledge transfer and fine-tuning to solve the problem. Then, LandingScenes-7 dataset is established and divided into seven classes. Moreover, there is still a novelty detection problem in the classifier, and we address this by excluding other landing scenes using the approach of thresholding in the prediction stage. We employ the transfer learning method based on ResNeXt-50 backbone with the adaptive momentum(ADAM) optimization algorithm. We also compare ResNet-50 backbone and the momentum stochastic gradient descent(SGD) optimizer. Experiment results show that ResNeXt-50 based on the ADAM optimization algorithm has better performance. | 18 | Doctors’Dilemma in Auspicious Pulse Diagnosis Represented in Ming-Qing Fiction显示文摘Auspicious pulse diagnosis/pregnancy diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine involves such issues as medical skills,narrative skills,family decency,and ethics.It is an excellent case for the exploration of ethical dilemmas in traditional Chinese medical practice.The early classical medical texts such as Su Wen(Basic Questions)and Ling Shu Jing(Spiritual Pivot Canon)provide a principle-based ethical guide for doctor-patient communication,while popular fiction such as Hong Lou Meng(A Dream of Red Mansions),Yu Mu Xing Xin Bian(Stories:Entertain to Enlighten),and Feng Yue Meng(Courtesans and Opium)in the Ming and Qing dynasties present literary examples for solving ethical dilemmas.This article will analyze these texts from three perspectives.First,the doctors in the text were subject to gender order and other delicate etiquette and customs,therefore were unable to make the diagnosis without embarrassing the patients and jeopardizing family decency.Second,the narrator tends to attribute pregnancy misdiagnosis to three reasons:incomplete patient information,doctors’poor narrative competence,and doctors’corrupted medical ethics.Finally,the Ming-Qing fiction proposes three methods to solve this moral dilemma:clear pulse reading,tactful speech,and taboo challenging.This discussion of moral dilemmas in pregnancy diagnosis in traditional Chinese medical practice can be used as a reference for the localization of narrative medicine. | LI Yuanda MAO Xu | 2023 | Chinese Medicine and Culture2023,6,2: | 1 |

| 20 | Mechanically Driven Alloying and Structural Evolution of Nanocrystalline Fe_(60)Cu_(40) Powder显示文摘Highly supersaturated nanocrystalline fcc Fe60Cu40 alloy has been prepared by mechanical alloying of elemental powders. The phase transformation is monitored by X-ray diffraction (XRD),Mossbauer spectroscopy and extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS). The powder obtained after milling is of single fcc structure with grain size of nanometer order. The Mossbauer spectra of the milled powder can be fitted by two subspectra whose hyperfine magnetic fields are 16 MA/m and 20 MA/m while that of pure Fe disappeared. EXAFS results show that the radial structure function (RSF) of Fe K-edge changed drastically and finally became similar to that of reference Cu K-edge, while that of Cu K-edge nearly keeps unchanged in the process of milling. These imply that bcc Fe really transforms to fcc structure and alloying between Fe and Cu occurs truly on an atomic scale. EXAFS results indicate that iron atoms tend to segregate at the boundaries and Cu atoms are rich in the fcc lattice.
