| 1 | Cluster analysis for syndromes of real-world coronary heartdisease with angina pectoris显示文摘Syndromes of coronary heart disease with angina pectoris were analyzed to provide guidance forclinical practice and to improve accuracy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnoses and efficacy of TCMtreatment. A total of 860 cases with coronary heart disease with angina pectoris were selected from TCM ClinicalResearch Information Sharing System for TCM clinics and research. Syndromes were automatically extractedwith the cluster method and were analyzed to provide objective evidence for clinical studies. Final syndromeclassifications were recognized and confirmed by clinical experts. Popular syndromes included Qi and blooddeficiency, blood stasis and obstruction collaterals, liver depression and spleen deficiency, and Qi stagnation andblood stasis. Syndromes Qi and blood deficiency and blood stasis and obstruction collaterals accounted for 28.61%of total syndromes, whereas liver depression and spleen deficiency and Qi stagnation and blood stasis accountedfor 26.44%. | 3 | Comparsion analysis of data mining models applied to clinical research in Traditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To help researchers selecting appropriate data mining models to provide better evidence for the clinical practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) diagnosis and therapy.METHODS: Clinical issues based on data mining models were comprehensively summarized from four significant elements of the clinical studies:symptoms, symptom patterns, herbs, and efficacy.Existing problems were further generalized to determine the relevant factors of the performance of data mining models, e.g. data type, samples, parameters, variable labels. Combining these relevant factors, the TCM clinical data features were compared with regards to statistical characters and informatics properties. Data models were compared simultaneously from the view of applied conditions and suitable scopes.RESULTS: The main application problems were the inconsistent data type and the small samples for the used data mining models, which caused the inappropriate results, even the mistake results. | 4 | Three pairs of alkaloid enantiomers from the root of Isatis indigotica显示文摘Three pairs of enantiomerically pure alkaloids with diverse structure features, named isatindigoticoic acid A and epiisatindigoticoic acid A [(—)-1 and(+)-1], phaitanthrin A and epiphaitanthrin A [(—)-2 and(+)-2], and isatindopyrromizol A and epiisatindopyrromizol A [(—)-3and(+)-3], respectively, were isolated from an aqueous extract of the roots of Isatis indigotica. Racemic and scalemic mixtures of these enantiomers were separated by HPLC on a chiral semi-preparative column.Their structures including absolute configurations were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis in conjunction with the calculation of electronic circular dichroism(ECD) spectra. The enantiomer pairs possess parent structures of 2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-4-carboxylic acid, indolo[2,1-b]quinazolinone, and 3-thioxohexahydro-1H-pyrrolo[1,2-c]imidazol-1-one, respectively. | 6 | Separation of ionic liquids from dilute aqueous solutions using the method based on CO_2 hydrates显示文摘Ionic liquids (ILs) have been regarded as the potential novel solvents for improved analytical-and process-scale separation methods. The development of methods for the recovery of ILs from aqueous solutions to escape contamination and recycle samples will ultimately govern the viability of ILs in the future industrial applications. Therefore, in this paper a new method for separation of ILs from their dilute aqueous solutions and simultaneously purification of water was proposed on the basis of the CO2 hydrate formation. | 7 | Study on Biogenic Amines in Various Dry Salted Fish Consumed in China显示文摘This study was carried out to investigate the biogenic amines(BAs), physicochemical property and microorganisms in dry salted fish, a traditional aquatic food consumed in China. Forty three samples of dry salted fish were gathered from retail and wholesale markets and manufacturers, which had been produced in various regions in China. Cadaverine(CAD) and putrescine(PUT) were quantitatively the most common biogenic amines. About 14% of the samples exceeded the histamine content standards established by the FDA and/or EU. The highest histamine content was found in Silver pomfret(Pampus argenteus)(347.79 mg kg^(-1)). Five of forty three samples exceeded the acceptable content of TYR(100 mg kg^(-1)), and 23.26% of dried-salted fish contained high contents of biogenic amines(above 600 mg kg^(-1)). In addition, species, regions, pickling processes and drying methods made the physicochemical property, microorganisms and biogenic amines in dry salted fish to be different to some extents. The total plate count(TPC) was much higher than that of total halophilic bacteria in all samples. The biogenic amines, physicochemical property and microbiological counts exhibited large variations among samples. Furthermore, no significant correlation between biogenic amines and physicochemical property and TPC was observed. | 9 | Melatonin enhances radiofrequency-induced NK antitumor immunity,causing cancer metabolism reprogramming and inhibition of multiple pulmonary tumor development显示文摘Surgery is the comm on treatme nt for early lung cancer with multiple pulm onary no dules,but it is often accompanied by the problem of significant malignancy of other nodules in non-therapeutic areas.In this study,we found that a combined treatment of local rad iofreq ue ncy ablati on(RFA)and melatonin(MLT)greatly improved clinical outcomes for early lung cancer patie nts with multiple pulmonary nodules by minimizing lung function injury and reducing the probability of malignant transformation or enlargement of nodules in non-ablated areas.Mechanically,as demonstrated in an associated mouse lung tumor model,RFA not only effectively remove treated tumors but also stimulate antitumor immunity,which could inhibit tumor growth in non-ablated areas.MLT enhanced RFA-stimulated NK activity and exerted synergistic antitumor effects with RFA.Transcriptomics and proteomics analyses of residual tumor tissues revealed enhanced oxidative phosphorylation and reduced acidification as well as hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment,which suggests reprogrammed tumor metabolism after combined treatment with RFA and MLT.Analysis of residual tumor further revealed the depressed activity of MAPK,NF-kappa B,Wnt,and Hedgehog pathways and upregulated P53 pathway in tumors,which was in line with the inhibited tumor growth.Combined RFA and MLT treatment also reversed the Warburg effect and decreased tumor malignancy.These findings thus demonstrated that combined treatment of RFA and MLT effectively inhibited the malignancy of non-ablated nodules and provided an innovative non-invasive strategy for treating early lung tumors with multiple pulmonary nodules.Trial registration:www.chictr.org.cn,identifier ChiCTR2100042695,http://gffzz62a03ee25e6f4a77h9ckuw69vuu0v6px6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=120931. | Ming Li Bingjie Hao Menghuan Zhang Russel J.Reiter Shumeng Lin Tiansheng Zheng Xiangyun Chen Yanbei Ren Liduo Yue Baigenzhin Abay Guojie Chen Xiao Xu Yufeng Shi Lihong Fan | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10: | 6 |

| 11 | Optical conductivity-based ultrasensitive mid-infrared biosensing on a hybrid metasurface显示文摘Optical devices are highly attractive for biosensing as they can not only enable quantitative measurements of analytes but also provide information on molecular structures.Unfortunately,typical refractive index-based optical sensors do not have sufficient sensitivity to probe the binding of low-molecular-weight analytes.Non-optical devices such as field-effect transistors can be more sensitive but do not offer some of the significant features of optical devices,particularly molecular fingerprinting.We present optical conductivity-based mid-infrared(mid-IR)biosensors that allow for sensitive and quantitative measurements of low-molecular-weight analytes as well as the enhancement of spectral fingerprints.The sensors employ a hybrid metasurface consisting of monolayer graphene and metallic nano-antennas and combine individual advantages of plasmonic,electronic and spectroscopic approaches.First,the hybrid metasurface sensors can optically detect target molecule-induced carrier doping to graphene,allowing highly sensitive detection of low-molecular-weight analytes despite their small sizes.Second,the resonance shifts caused by changes in graphene optical conductivity is a well-defined function of graphene carrier density,thereby allowing for quantification of the binding of molecules.Third,the sensor performance is highly stable and consistent thanks to its insensitivity to graphene carrier mobility degradation.Finally,the sensors can also act as substrates for surfaceenhanced infrared spectroscopy.We demonstrated the measurement of monolayers of sub-nanometer-sized molecules or particles and affinity binding-based quantitative detection of glucose down to 200 pM(36 pg/mL).We also demonstrated enhanced fingerprinting of minute quantities of glucose and polymer molecules. | Yibo Zhu Zhaoyi Li Zhuang Hao Christopher DiMarco Panita Maturavongsadit Yufeng Hao Ming Lu Aaron Stein Qian Wang James Hone Nanfang Yu Qiao Lin | 2018 | Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1: | 6 |

| 13 | Regulation of extracellular bioactive cations in bone tissue microenvironment induces favorable osteoimmune conditions to accelerate in situ bone regeneration显示文摘The design of orthopedic biomaterials has gradually shifted from“immune-friendly”to“immunomodulatory,”in which the biomaterials are able to modulate the inflammatory response via macrophage polarization in a local immune microenvironment that favors osteogenesis and implant-to-bone osseointegration.Despite the well-known effects of bioactive metallic ions on osteogenesis,how extracellular metallic ions manipulate immune cells in bone tissue microenvironments toward osteogenesis and subsequent bone formation has rarely been studied.Herein,we investigate the osteoimmunomodulatory effect of an extracellular bioactive cation(Mg^(2+))in the bone tissue microenvironment using custom-made poly lactic-co-glycolic acid(PLGA)/MgO-alendronate microspheres that endow controllable release of magnesium ions.The results suggest that the Mg^(2+)-controlled tissue microenvironment can effectively induce macrophage polarization from the M0 to M2 phenotype via the enhancement of anti-inflammatory(IL-10)and pro-osteogenic(BMP-2 and TGF-β1)cytokines production.It also generates a favorable osteoimmune microenvironment that facilitates the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.The in vivo results further verify that a large amount of bony tissue,with comparable bone mineral density and mechanical properties,has been generated at an early post-surgical stage in rat intramedullary bone defect models.This study demonstrates that the concept of in situ immunomodulated osteogenesis can be realized in a controlled magnesium tissue microenvironment. | Zhengjie Lin Danni Shen Weixiao Zhou Yufeng Zheng Tiantian Kong Xuanyong Liu Shuilin Wu Paul K.Chu Ying Zhao Jun Wu Kenneth M.C.Cheung Kelvin W.K.Yeung | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,8: | 5 |

| 16 | Phospholipase C Delta 3 inhibits apoptosis and promotes proliferation,migration,and invasion of thyroid cancer cells via Hippo pathway显示文摘In recent decades,the incidence of thyroid cancer(TC)has rapidly increased,leading us to explore the complex underlying mechanisms.We identified the gene Phospholipase C Delta 3(PLCD3)as a potential oncogene in TC by conducting the whole transcriptome sequencing.Our study is to understand the oncogenic role of PLCD3 in TC.We verified the overexpression of PLCD3 in TC from The Cancer Genome Atlas,Gene Expression Omnibus databases,and a locally validated cohort.Clinical correlation analysis showed that PLCD3 expression was related to histological type,T stage,lymph node metastasis(LNM),and disease stage.The high expression of PLCD3 could be a distinguishing factor for TC and its LNM.The biological function was examined using small interfering RNA-transfected TC cell lines.Silenced PLCD3 could inhibit colony formation,migration,and invasion ability and promote apoptosis of TC cell lines.PLCD3 silencing reversed the epithelial-mesenchymal transition but induced the apoptotic progress.Further exploration revealed that PLCD3 might be associated with critical genes of the Hippo pathway.The expressions of RHOA,YAP1/TAZ,and their downstream targets were decreased significantly when PLCD3 was down-regulated.YAP1 overexpression rescued the tumor-suppressive effect caused by PLCD3 silencing.This study demonstrates that PLCD3 is an oncogene that supports tumorigenesis and progression in TC,and PLCD3 may be a potential target gene for TC treatment. | Lizhi Lin Jialiang Wen Bangyi Lin Hao Chen Adheesh Bhandari Yufeng Qi Danni Zheng Ouchen Wang | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,4: | 4 |
| 17 | Selenium Enrichment in Cambrian Stratabound Gold Deposits in the Western Qinling Mountains显示文摘Stratabound gold deposits in the western Qinling Mountains occur in Cambrian chert formation composed of carbonaceous chert and carbonaceous slate. The distinctive chert formation provides important grounds for the mineralization and controls on the formation of gold deposits. Study shows that Se is exceptionally higher in both host rocks and gold orebodies. It may be recovered as a valuable component in ores for total utilization, and in some localities even independent Se orebodies (which are mined exclusively for Se) may be delineated. | 19 | Practical strategy to construct anti-osteosarcoma bone substitutes by loading cisplatin into 3D-printed titanium alloy implants using a thermosensitive hydrogel显示文摘Surgical resection and perioperative adjuvant chemotherapy-based therapies have improved the prognosis of patients with osteosarcoma;however,intraoperative bone defects,local tumour recurrence,and chemotherapy-induced adverse effects still affect the quality of life of patients.Emerging 3D-printed titanium alloy(Ti6Al4V)implants have advantages over traditional implants in bone repair,including lower elastic modulus,lower stiffness,better bone conduction,more bone in-growth,stronger mechanical interlocking,and lager drug-loading capacity by their inherent porous structure.Here,cisplatin,a clinical first-line anti-osteosarcoma drug,was loaded into Ti6Al4V implants,within a PLGA-PEG-PLGA thermo-sensitive hydrogel,to construct bone substitutes with both anti-osteosarcoma and bone-repair functions.The optimal concentrations of cisplatin(0.8 and 1.6 mg/mL)were first determined in vitro.Thereafter,the anti-tumour effect and biosafety of the cisplatin/hydrogel-loaded implants,as well as their bone-repair potential were evaluated in vivo in tumour-bearing mouse,and bone defect rabbit models,respectively.The loading of cisplatin reduced tumour volume by more than two-thirds(from 641.1 to 201.4 mm3)with negligible organ damage,achieving better anti-tumour effects while avoiding the adverse effects of systemic cisplatin delivery.Although bone repair was hindered by cisplatin loading at 4 weeks,no difference was observed at 8 weeks in the context of implants with versus without cisplatin,indicating acceptable long-term stability of all implants(with 8.48%-10.04%bone in-growth and 16.94%-20.53%osseointegration).Overall,cisplatin/hydrogel-loaded 3D-printed Ti6Al4V implants are safe and effective for treating osteosarcoma-caused bone defects,and should be considered for clinical use. | Zehao Jing Renhua Ni Jiedong Wang Xinhong Lin Daoyang Fan Qingguang Wei Teng Zhang Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Zhongjun Liu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,12: | 3 |
| 20 | Polymorphic Alu insertions and their associations with MHC class I alleles and haplotypes in Han and Jinuo populations in Yunnan Province,southwest of China显示文摘The associations of polymorphic Alu insertions (POALINs) with major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I genes enable us to better identify origins and evolution of MHC class I region haplotypes in different populations. For further studying origins and evolution of MHC class I region haplotypes in Han and Jinuo populations in Yunnan Province, we investigated frequencies of five POALINs, their associations with HLA-A and -B, the three-loci POALINs haplotype frequencies and HLA/POALIN four-loci haplotype frequencies within the alpha block of MHC class I region. We found that a strong positive association between AluHG and HLA-A*02 is in Jinuo, but not in Yunnan Han.
