| 1 | Regional and Global Land Data Assimilation Systems: Innovations,Challenges, and Prospects显示文摘Since the North American and Global Land Data Assimilation Systems(NLDAS and GLDAS) were established in2004, significant progress has been made in development of regional and global LDASs. National, regional, projectbased, and global LDASs are widely developed across the world. This paper summarizes and overviews the development, current status, applications, challenges, and future prospects of these LDASs. We first introduce various regional and global LDASs including their development history and innovations, and then discuss the evaluation, validation, and applications(from numerical model prediction to water resources management) of these LDASs. More importantly, we document in detail some specific challenges that the LDASs are facing: quality of the in-situ observations, satellite retrievals, reanalysis data, surface meteorological forcing data, and soil and vegetation databases; land surface model physical process treatment and parameter calibration; land data assimilation difficulties; and spatial scale incompatibility problems. | 2 | Trends of the sunshine duration and diffuse radiation percentage on sunny days in urban agglomerations of China during 1960–2005显示文摘The long-term observational data of sunshine duration(SD) and diffuse radiation percentage(defined as diffuse solar radiation/total solar radiation, DRP) on sunny days during 1960–2005 were analyzed in 7 urban agglomerations and the whole of China. The results show that the sunny sunshine duration(SSD) has decreased significantly except at a few stations over northwestern China in the past 46 years. An obvious decrease of the SSD is found in eastern China, with the trend coefficients lower than-0.8. Accompanied by the SSD decline, the sunny diffuse radiation percentage(SDRP) in most stations shows obvious increasing trends during the 46 years. The averaged SDRP over China has increased 2.33%per decade, while the averaged SSD shows a decrease of-0.13 hr/day per decade. The correlation coefficient between SDRP and SSD is-0.88. SSD decreased over urban agglomerations(small to large city clusters) in the past 46 years, especially in large cities and medium cities, due to the strong anthropogenic activities and air pollution represented by aerosol option depth(AOD) and tropospheric column NO2(Tro NO2). | 3 | Quality Control and Evaluation of the Observed Daily Data in the North American Soil Moisture Database显示文摘The North American Soil Moisture Database (NASMD) was initiated in 2011 to assemble and homogenize in situ soil moisture measurements from 32 observational networks in the United States and Canada encompassing more than 1800 stations. Although statistical quality control (QC) procedures have been applied in the NASMD, the soil moisture content tends to be systematically underestimated by in situ sensors in frozen soils, and using a single maximum threshold (i.e., 0.6 m3 m-3) may not be sufficient for robust QC because of the diverse soil textures in North America. In this study, based on the in situ soil porosity and North American Land Data Assimilation System phase 2 (NLDAS-2) Noah soil temperature, the simple automated QC method is revised to supplement the existing QC approach. This revised QC method is first validated based on the assessment at 78 of the Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) stations where the manually checked data are available, and is then applied to all stations in the NASMD to produce a more strict quality-controlled dataset. The results show that the revised automated QC procedure can flag the spurious and erroneous soil moisture measurements for the SCAN stations, especially for those located in high altitudes and latitudes. Relative to station measurements in the original NASMD, the quality-controlled data show a slightly better agreement with the manually checked soil moisture content. It should be noted that this quality-controlled dataset may be over-flagged for some valid soil moisture measurements due to potential errors of the soil temperature and soil porosity data, and validation in this study is limited by the availability of benchmark soil moisture data. | 4 | Towards Fast and Efficient Algorithm for Learning Bayesian Network显示文摘Learning Bayesian network structure is one of the most exciting challenges in machine learning. Discovering a correct skeleton of a directed acyclic graph(DAG) is the foundation for dependency analysis algorithms for this problem. Considering the unreliability of high order condition independence(CI) tests, and to improve the efficiency of a dependency analysis algorithm, the key steps are to use few numbers of CI tests and reduce the sizes of conditioning sets as much as possible. Based on these reasons and inspired by the algorithm PC, we present an algorithm, named fast and efficient PC(FEPC), for learning the adjacent neighbourhood of every variable. FEPC implements the CI tests by three kinds of orders, which reduces the high order CI tests significantly. Compared with current algorithm proposals, the experiment results show that FEPC has better accuracy with fewer numbers of condition independence tests and smaller size of conditioning sets. | 5 | Surface-roughness-adjustable Au nanorods with strong plasmon absorption and abundant hotspots for improved SERS and photothermal performances显示文摘The rational optimization of plasmonic property of metal nanocrystals by manipulating the structure and morphology is crucial for the plasmon-enhanced application and has always been an urgent issue.Herein,Au nanorods with tunable surface roughness are prepared by growing PbS,overgrowing Au,and dissolving PbS nanoparticles on the basis of smooth Au nanorods.The transverse plasmon resonance of Au nanorods is notably improved due to plasmon coupling between Au nanorods and the surface-modified Au nanoparticles,resulting in the strong and full-spectrum light absorption.Numerical simulations demonstrate that the surface-rough Au nanorods have abundant and full-surround hotspots coming from surface particle–particle plasmon coupling between ultrasmall nanogaps,sharp tips,and uneven areas on Au nanorods.With these characters,the surface-roughness-adjustable Au nanorods possess high tunability and enhancement of surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)detection of Rhodamine B and significantly improved photothermal conversion efficiency.Au nanorods with the largest surface roughness have the highest Raman enhancement factor both at 532 and 785 nm laser excitation.Meanwhile,photothermal conversion experiments under near-infrared(808 nm)and simulated sunlight irradiation confirm that the Au nanorods with rough surface have prominent photothermal conversion efficiency and can be regarded as promising candidates for photothermal therapy and solar-driven water evaporation. | Sijing Ding Liang Ma Jingru Feng Youlong Chen Dajie Yang Ququan Wang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 2 |

| 10 | Effect of Salty Fog on Flashover Characteristics of OCS Composite Insulators显示文摘To study the flashover characteristics of the fog water in saline-alkali areas for high-speed railway OSC insulators,the spatial distributions of both the potential and electric field of soiled insulators in the presence of salty fog are analyzed using COMSOL Multiphysics,a multi-physics coupling software.Furthermore,to analyze the effect of the contamination of insulators due to salty fog water,a saline solution is used for staining an insulator sample by using the solid coating method.In an artificial climate chamber,the salty fog environment is simulated,and the flashover voltage for different salty fog water conductivities and surface staining are obtained.The salt-density correction coefficient K is also proposed.It provides a strong basis for the selection of railway insulators in saline-alkali areas.The results show that the salty fog water changes the original surface equivalent salt density,ρESDD,by wetting the existing fouling layer on the surface of the insulator,so that the original surface contamination layer becomes equivalent to KρESDD;the smaller is the value ofρESDD of the insulator surface,the larger is the value of K;the surface of the same insulator is dirty,and as the concentration of salty fog-water increases,K also increases. | Sihua Wang Youlong Wu | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2019,5,3: | 1 |
