2A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. 3Synthesis and characterization of triblock copolymer by combining enzymatic condensation polymerization and ATRP显示文摘The polyester poly(1,10-decanediol /1, 10-sebacate) (PSD) was synthesized by means of Novozyme 435 catalyzed condensation polymeriza- tion of 1,10-decanediol and 1,10-sebacic acid. Both hydroxyl chain ends of the resulting PSD were modi- fied by esterification with α-bromopropionyl bromide to obtain difunctional macroinitiator, which was sub- sequently used in the ATRP of S t using CuCl/2, 2′- bipyridine (bpy) as the catalyst system to afford the triblock copolymer, polystyrene-block-poly(1,10-dec- anediol/1,10-sebacate)-block-polystyrene (PS t-b-PSD- b-PSt). 4Modulation of evening complex activity enables north-to-south adaptation of soybean显示文摘Soybean,a typical short-day crop,is sensitive to photoperiod,which is a major limiting factor defining its north-to-south cultivation range.The long-juvenile(LJ)trait is controlled primarily by the J locus which has been used for decades by soybean breeders to delay flowering and improve grain yield in tropical regions.The J gene encodes an ortholog of the Arabidopsis Evening Complex(EC)component EARLY FLOWERING 3(ELF3).To identify modifiers of J,we conducted a forward genetic screen and isolated a mutant(eoj57)that in combination with j has longer flowering delay compared with j single mutant plants.Map-based cloning and genome re-sequencing identified eoj57(designated as GmLUX2)as an ortholog of the Arabidopsis EC component LUX ARRHYTHMO(LUX).To validate that GmLUX2 is a modifier of J,we used trans-complementation and identified a natural variant allele with a similar phenotype.We also show that GmLUX2 physically interacts with GmELF3a/b and binds DNA,whereas the mutant and natural variant are attenuated in both activities.Transcriptome analysis shows that the GmLUX2-GmELF3a complex co-regulates the expression of several circadian clock-associated genes and directly represses E1 expression.These results provide mechanistic insight into how GmLUX2-GmELF3 controls flowering time via synergistic regulation of gene expression.These novel insights expand our understanding of the regulation of the EC complex,and facilitate the development of soybean varieties adapted for growth at lower latitudes.Xiaolong Fang Yapeng Han Mengshi Liu Jiacan Jiang Xiang Li Qichao Lian Xianrong Xie Yian Huang Qibin Ma Hai Nian Ji Qi Cunyi Yang Yingxiang Wang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,2:3

6Thermal influence of ponding and buried warm-oil pipelines on permafrost: a case study of the China-Russia Crude Oil Pipeline显示文摘Buried pipelines are widely used for transporting oil in remote cold regions. However, the warm oil can induce considerable thermal influence on the surrounding frozen soils and result in severe maintenance problems. This paper presents a case study of the thermal influence of ponding and buried warm-oil pipelines on permafrost along the China-Russia Crude Oil Pipeline(CRCOP) in Northeast China. Since its operation in 2011, the operation of the warm-oil pipelines has led to rapid warming and thawing of the surrounding permafrost and development of sizable ponding along the pipeline route,which, in return, exacerbates the permafrost degradation. A field study was conducted along a 400-km long segment of the CRCOP in permafrost regions of Northeast China to collect the location and size information of ponding. A two-dimensional heat transfer model coupled with phase change was established to analyze the thermal influence of ponding and the operation of warm-oil pipelines on the surrounding permafrost. In-situ measured ground temperatures from a monitoring site were obtained to validate the numerical model. The simulation results show that ponding accelerates the development of the thaw bulb around the pipeline. The maximum thaw depth below the pipeline increases from 4 m for the case without ponding to 9 m for the case with ponding after 50 years of operation, and ponding directly above the pipe induces the maximum thaw depth. 7Enhanced tribological properties of aligned graphene-epoxy composites显示文摘The random distribution of graphene in epoxy matrix hinders the further applications of grapheneepoxy composites in the field of tribology.Hence,in order to fully utilize the anisotropic properties of graphene,highly aligned graphene-epoxy composites(AGEC)with horizontally oriented structure have been fabricated via an improved vacuum filtration freeze-drying method.The frictional tests results indicated that the wear rate of AGEC slowly increased from 5.19x10^(-6)mm^(3)/(N-m)to 2.87x10^(-5)mm^(3)/(N-m)with the increasing of the normal load from 2 to 10 N,whereas the friction coefficient(COF)remained a constant of 0.109.Compared to the neat epoxy and random graphene-epoxy composites(RGEC),the COF of AGEC was reduced by 87.5%and 71.2%,and the reduction of wear rate was 86.6%and 85.4%at most,respectively.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)observations illustrated that a compact graphene self-lubricant film was formed on the worn surface of AGEC,which enables AGEC to possess excellent tribological performance.Finally,in light of the excellent tribological properties of AGEC,this study highlights a pathway to expand the tribological applications of graphene-epoxy composites.Yuefeng DU Zhenyu ZHANG Dong WANG Lezhen ZHANG Junfeng CUI Yapeng CHEN Mingliang WU Ruiyang KANG Yunxiang LU Jinhong YU Nan JIANG 2022Friction2022,10,6:2
8Repairing skull defects in children with nano-hap/collagen composites: A clinical report of thirteen cases显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the clinical results of repairing skull defects with biomimetic bone(nano-hap/collagen composites,NHACs)in children.Methods:Thirteen children with skull defects were treated with NHACs in our hospital.The NHACs molded with the help of a 3D printer were used in the operations.Results:All 13 operations were successful,and patients recovered without infection.Only one patient suffered from subcutaneous hydrops post-operation.The implanted NHACs remained fixed well after 1 year,and their CT HU values raised gradually.Skull shapes of children developed normally.Recovery of neurological and cognitive function was significant.Conclusions:NHAC,chosen to repair skull defects in children,can coexist with normal skull and reduce the negative effects on growth and development.NHAC could be a good choice for children with skull defects.Tuoyu Chen Yuqi Zhang Huancong Zuo Yapeng Zhao Chaoqiang Xue Bin Luo Qinglin Zhang Jin Zhu Xiumei Wang Fuzhai Cui 2016Translational Neuroscience and Clinics2016,2,1:2
9Spreading kinetics of a Sn-30Bi-0.5Cu alloy on a Cu substrate显示文摘The reactive wetting kinetics of a Sn-30Bi-0.5Cu Pb-free solder alloy on a Cu substrate was investigated by the sessile drop method from 493 to 623 K.The triple line frontier,characterized by the drop base radius R was recorded dynamically with a high resolution CCD using different spreading processes in an Ar-H 2 flow.We found a good agreement with the De Gennes model for the relationship between ln(dR/dt) and lnR for the spreading processes at 493 and 523 K.However,a significant deviation from the De Gennes model was found for the spreading processes at 548 and 623 K.Our experimental results show a complicated temperature effect on the spreading kinetics.Intermetallics at the Sn-30Bi-0.5Cu/Cu interface were identified as Cu 6 Sn 5 adjacent to the solder and Cu 3 Sn adjacent to the Cu substrate.The intermetallic compounds effectively enhanced the triple line mobility because of reaction product formation at the diffusion frontier.ZANG LiKun YUAN ZhangFu ZHAN YaPeng WANG ChenYu XU BingSheng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,6:1

11Effect of inlet area on the performance of a two-stage cyclone separator显示文摘The cyclone separator is an important separation device.This paper presents a new type of embedded two-stage cyclone,which includes a 2 nd-stage cyclone(internal traditional cyclone)with multiple inlets and a 1 st-stage cyclone(outer cylinder)that unifies the 2 nd-stage cyclone inlets into one inlet.The Taguchi experimental method was used to study the two-stage cyclone separator’s inlet area on its performance.Studies have shown that the increase of the 1 st-stage cyclone inlet area and the increase in the number of 2 nd-stage cyclone inlets(N)positively affect reducing the pressure drop and a negative effect on efficiency.It is recommended to use 2 S(the original 1 st-stage cyclone inlet area)of the 1 st-stage cyclone inlet area and 2 N of the 2 nd-stage cyclone inlets when separating fine particles.Compared with a traditional cyclone,the pressure drop is reduced by 1303 Pa,the mass separation efficiency(Eq)is increased by 0.56%,and the number separation efficiency(En)is increased by 2.05%.When separating larger particles,it is recommended to use 2 S of the 1 st-stage cyclone inlet area and 4 N of the 2 nd-stage cyclone inlets.Compared with a traditional cyclone,although Endecreases slightly,the pressure drop is reduced by 3055 Pa,and the Eqis increased by 0.56%.The research results provide new insight into the design of the cyclone.Jihe Chen Zhongan Jiang Bin Yang Yapeng Wang Fabin Zeng 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,4:1

16THERMOMECHANICAL RESPONSE OF SMA FIBER COMPOSITES WITH NON-UNIFORM TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION显示文摘A micromechanics method based on the High-Order-Theory developed by Aboudi et al. is used to predict the thermomechanical response of composites reinforced by shape memory alloy (SMA) fibers, and the non-uniform thermal distribution in composite arising from the process of heating or cooling is considered. The numerical development based on this model was coded to predict the thermomechanical response of shape memory alloy fiber/elastomer matrix composite subjected to thermal cycle loading. When the composite is heated, two heating ways, thermal gradients and heat source by passing an electric current through the SMA fibers are imposed on the composite respectively. Upon cooling, the first thermal boundary condition and the second thermal boundary condition are subjected to the composite respectively. A series of stress distributions and temperature distributions for different instants are calculated to reveal the interaction between the SMA material and matrix. 18Chemoenzymatic synthesis amphiphilic H-shaped copolymer and its self-assembly behavior显示文摘ABA triblock copolymers were synthesized by dihydroxyl-capped PEO initiated enzymatic ring-opening polymerization (eROP) of ε-CL in the presence of biocatalyst Novozyme 435. The chains ended with hydroxyl of block copolymers were modified by the esterification of 2,2-dichloro acetyl chloride (DCAC) to obtain the tetrafunctional macroinitiator,which was used in the ATRP of 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP). CuCl/HMTETA was used as the catalyst system in the ATRP of 4-VP to acquire the H-shaped block copolymers (PVP)2-b-PCL-b-PEG-b-PCL-b-(PVP)2. The H-shaped block copolymers were characterized by FTIR,NMR,and GPC. Copolymers with high molecular weights (Mn = 46121 g/mol) and low polydispersities (Mw/Mn = 1.30) were prepared. Moreover,the morphology of the copolymer was examined with dynamic light scattering (DLS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). 19NRF1-mediated microglial activation triggers high-altitude cerebral edema显示文摘High-altitude cerebral edema(HACE)is a potentially fatal encephalopathy associated with a time-dependent exposure to the hypobaric hypoxia of altitude.The formation of HACE is affected by both vasogenic and cytotoxic edema.The over-activated microglia potentiate the damage of blood-brain barrier(BBB)and exacerbate cytotoxic edema.In light with the activation of microglia in HACE,we aimed to investigate whether the over-activated microglia were the key turning point of acute mountain sickness to HACE.In in vivo experiments,by exposing mice to hypobaric hypoxia(7000 m above sea level)to induce HACE model,we found that microglia were activated and migrated to blood vessels.Microglia depletion by PLX5622 obviously relieved brain edema.In in vitro experiments,we found that hypoxia induced cultured microglial activation,leading to the destruction of endothelial tight junction and astrocyte swelling.Up-regulated nuclear respiratory factor 1(NRF1)accelerated pro-inflammatory factors through transcriptional regulation on nuclearfactorkappa B p65(NF-kB p65)and mitochondrial transcription factorA(TFAM)in activated microglia under hypoxia.NRF1 also up-regulated phagocytosis by transcriptional regulation on caveolin-1(CAV-1)and adaptorrelated protein complex 2 subunit beta(AP2B1).The present study reveals a new mechanism in HACE:hypoxia over-activates microglia through up-regulation of NRF1,which both induces inflammatory response through transcriptionally activating NF-kB p65 and TFAM,and enhances phagocytic function through up-regulation of CAV-1 and AP2B1;hypoxia-activatedmicroglia destroy the integrity of BBB and release pro-inflammatory factors that eventually induce HACE.Xueting Wang Guijuan Chen Baolan Wan Zhangji Dong Yan Xue Qianqian Luo Dan Wang Yapeng Lu Li Zhu 2022Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2022,14,5:1
20Establish the Long-effective Mechanism of Food Security in China显示文摘In despite of fluctuation in recent years, the grain yield in China has been increasing, which relieves the conflict between supply and demand and turns the situation of food security good. However, because of the rapid increase in food consumption, the conflicts of food quality and structure in the supply and demand equilibrium has become more and more obvious and the long-effective mechanism of food security has not been estab-lished yet. It is found that the factors affecting food security in China include the scarcity and dissipation of resources, farmers’ low enthusiasm in planting grain crops and the inappropriateness of the emphasis and measures of macro-economic regulation and control.
