1Full-colour nanoprint-hologram synchronous metasurface with arbitrary hue-saturationbrightness control显示文摘The colour gamut,a two-dimensional(2D)colour space primarily comprising hue and saturation(HS),lays the most important foundation for the colour display and printing industries.Recently,the metasurface has been considered a promising paradigm for nanoprinting and holographic imaging,demonstrating a subwavelength image resolution,a flat profile,high durability,and multi-functionalities.Much effort has been devoted to broaden the 2D HS plane,also known as the CIE map.However,the brightness(B),as the carrier of chiaroscuro information,has long been neglected in metasurface-based nanoprinting or holograms due to the challenge in realising arbitrary and simultaneous control of full-colour HSB tuning in a passive device.Here,we report a dielectric metasurface made of crystal silicon nanoblocks,which achieves not only tailorable coverage of the primary colours red,green and blue(RGB)but also intensity control of the individual colours.The colour gamut is hence extruded from the 2D CIE to a complete 3D HSB space.Moreover,thanks to the independent control of the RGB intensity and phase,we further show that a singlelayer silicon metasurface could simultaneously exhibit arbitrary HSB colour nanoprinting and a full-colour hologram image.Our findings open up possibilities for high-resolution and high-fidelity optical security devices as well as advanced cryptographic approaches.Yanjun Bao Ying Yu Haofei Xu Chao Guo Juntao Li Shang Sun Zhang-Kai Zhou Cheng-Wei Qiu Xue-Hua Wang 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:25
2Effects of electroacupuncture and Chinese kidney-nourishing medicine on polycystic ovary syndrome in obese patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of electroacupuncture and Chinese kidney-nourishing medicine on insulin (INS), adiponectin (APN), leptin (LEP), and glucolipid metabolism of obese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). METHODS: Sixty-seven obese PCOS patients were randomly divided into two groups. Thirty-three patients in the acupuncture-medicine group were treated three times a week with electroacupuncture at the Tianshu (ST 25), Zhongwan (CV 12), Qihai (CV 6), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Geshu (BL 17), and Cil-iao (BL 32) acupoints. They also took the Chinese drug, Tiankui capsule, for 3 months as a course of treatment. Point-taking and treatment in the electroacupuncture group of 34 patients was the same as those in the acupuncture-medicine group. We observed and compared the changes in the obesity-related indexes of body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), and waist-hip ratio (WHR), as well as fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS), APN, and LEP. RESULTS: BW, BMI, WHR, and FINS decreased and insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and APN were higher in the acupuncture-medicine group than in the electroacupuncture group (P<0.01). There was no obvious difference in LEP between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Acupuncture combined with medicine is better than just electroacupuncture for obese PCOS patients by improving obesity-related indexes, insulin sensitivity, and APN level. 3Prediction of permafrost changes in Northeastern China under a changing climate显示文摘Northeastern China has the second largest expanse of permafrost in China,primarily known as Xing'an-Baikal permafrost.Located on the southeastern edges of the Eurasian cryolithozone,the permafrost is thermally unstable and ecologically sensitive to external changes.The combined impacts of climatic,environmental,and anthropogenic changes cause 3-dimensional degradation of the permafrost.To predict these changes on the southern limit and ground temperature of permafrost in Northeastern China,an equivalent latitude model (ELM) for the mean annual ground surface temperature (MAGSTs) was proposed,and further improved to take into account of the influences of vegetation and snow-cover based on observational data and using the SHAW model.Using the finite element method and assuming a climate warming rate of 0.048°C a-1,the ELM was combined with the unsteady-state heat conduction model to simulate permafrost temperatures at present,and to predict those after 50 and 100 a.The results indicate that at present,sporadic permafrost occurs in the zones with MAGSTs of 1.5°C or colder,and there would still be a significant presence of permafrost in the zones with the present MAGSTs of 0.5°C or colder after 50 a,and in those of-0.5°C or colder after 100 a.Furthermore,the total areal extent of permafrost would decrease from 2.57×105 km2 at present to 1.84×105 km2 after 50 a and to 1.29×105 km2 after 100 a,i.e.,a reduction of 28.4% and 49.8% in the permafrost area,respectively.Also the permafrost would degrade more substantially in the east than in the west.Regional warming and thinning of permafrost would also occur.The area of stable permafrost (mean annual ground temperature,or MAGT≤-1.0°C) would decrease from present 1.07×105 to 8.8×104 km2 after 50 a,and further decrease to 5.6×104 km2 after 100 a.As a result,the unstable permafrost and seasonally frozen ground would expand,and the southern limit of permafrost would shift significantly northwards.The changes in the permafrost environment may adversely affect on ecological environments and engineering infrastructures in cold regions.Avoidance of unnecessary anthropogenic changes in permafrost conditions is a practical approach to protect the permafrost environment.WEI Zhi JIN HuiJun ZHANG JianMing YU ShaoPeng HAN XuJun JI YanJun HE RuiXia CHANG XiaoLi 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,6:15
4Antisense MMP-9 RNA inhibits malignant glioma cell growth in vitro and in vivo显示文摘The matrix-degrading metalloproteinases (MMPs), particularly MMP-9, play important roles in the pathogenesis and development of malignant gliomas. In the present study, the oncogenic role of MMP-9 in malignant glioma cells was investigated via antisense RNA blockade in vitro and in vivo. TJ905 malignant glioma cells were transfected with pcDNA3.0 vector expressing antisense MMP-9 RNA (pcDNA-AS-MMP9), which significantly decreased MMP-9 expression, and cell proliferation was assessed. For in vivo studies, U251 cells, a human malignant glioma cell line, were implanted subcutaneously into 4-to 6-week-old BALB/c nude mice. The mice bearing well-established U251 gliomas were treated with intratumoral pcDNA-AS-MMP9-Lipofectamine complex (AS-MMP-9-treated group), subcutaneous injection of endostatin (endostatin-treated group), or both (combined therapy group). Mice treated with pcDNA (empty vector)-Lipofectamine served as the control group. Four or eight weeks later, the volume and weight of tumor, MMP-9 expression, microvessel density and proliferative activity were assayed. We demonstrate that pcDNA-AS-MMP9 significantly decreased MMP-9 expression and inhibited glioma cell proliferation. Volume and weight of tumor, MMP-9 expression, microvessel density and proliferative activity in the antisense-MMP-9-treated and therapeutic alliance groups were significantly lower than those in the control group. The results suggest that MMP-9 not only promotes malignant glioma cell invasiveness, but also affects tumor cell proliferation. Blocking the expression of MMP-9 with antisense RNA substantially suppresses the malignant phenotype of glioma cells, and thus can be used as an effective therapeutic strategy for malignant gliomas.Cuiyun Sun Qian Wang Hongxu Zhou Shizhu Yu Alain R. 5The Interaction of Population,Industry and Land in Process of Urbanization in China:A Case Study in Jilin Province显示文摘Urbanization is a complex process that covers a wide range of topics, of which population, industry and land urbanization are three important aspects. Jilin Province is an important agricultural province in China. The contradiction between population, industry and land urbanization is especially prominent here, and its coupling development is of great practical significance. In this paper, the coupling degree of population-industry-land urbanization in Jilin Province in 1990, 2000 and 2010 is measured by coupling mode. The spatial pattern of the coupling degree is analyzed by trend surface analysis and global and local spatial autocorrelation. The influence factors and their spatial differentiation are discussed using multiple linear regression(MLR) model and geographic weighted regression(GWR) model. The results show that: 1) the coupling degree of population-industry-land urbanization in Jilin Province is at a low level. Judging from the change of time scale, the urbanization of most research units is becoming more and more coordinated. From the comparison of spatial scales, there is significant spatial difference in the research units of different administrative levels. 2) Judging from the global change trend, the coupling degree of population-industry-land urbanization in the central region is higher than that in western and eastern regions. The coordination of urbanization in the central region is relatively good, and the distribution of the cold and hot spots is basically the same as that overall. 3) The spatial pattern of the coupling degree is related to the cold and hot spot distribution of the influence coefficient of urban population density and per capita urban construction land. The variation of the coupling degree spatial pattern is synchronous with the spatial change of the urban population density influence coefficient. 4) The degree of agglomeration of the urban population is the main factor promoting the coupling pattern of population-industry-land urbanization in Jilin Province, and the extent of its influence is gradually increasing. 6Propofol differentially induces unconsciousness and respiratory depression through distinct interactions between GABAa receptor and GABAergic neuron in corresponding nuclei显示文摘Propofol is the most commonly used intravenous anesthetic worldwide.It can induce loss of consciousness prior to the occurrence of severe respiratory suppression,which is also a pharmacodynamic feature of all general anesthetics.However,the neural mechanisms underlying this natural phenomenon are controversial and highly related to patient safety.In the present study,we demonstrated that the pharmacodynamic effects of propofol(50 and 100 μM)on suppression of consciousness-related excitatory postsynaptic currents in the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC)and centromedian nucleus of the thalamus(CMT)were lower than those in the kernel respiratory rhythmogenesis nucleus pre-Botzinger complex(PrBo).Furthermore,we unexpectedly found that the GABAa receptor β3 subunit is the key target for propofol's action and that it is mutually and exclusively expressed in GABAergic neurons.It is also more abundant in the mPFC and CMT,but mainly co-localized with GABAergic neurons in the PrBo.As a result,the differentiated expression pattern should mediate more neuron suppression through the activation of GABAergic neurons in the mPFC and CMT at low doses of propofol(50 μM).However,PrBo GABAergic neurons were only activated by propofol at a high dose(100 μM).These results highlight the detailed pharmacodynamic effects of propofol on consciousness-related and respiration-related nuclei and provide the distinct interaction mechanism between the β3 subunit and GABAergic neurons in mediating the suppression of consciousness compared to the inhibition of respiration.Junli Jiang Yingfu Jiao Po Gao Wen Yin Wei Zhou Yunchun Zhang Yanjun Liu Daxiang Wen Yuan Wang Liang Zhou Tian Yu Weifeng Yu 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,8:11
7Approximate Solution of Oil Film Load-carrying Capacity of Turbulent Journal Bearing with Couple Stress Flow显示文摘The instability of the rotor dynamic system supported by oil journal bearing is encountered frequently, such as the half-speed whirl of the rotor, which is caused by oil film lubricant with nonlinearity. Currently, more attention is paid to the physical characteristics of oil film due to an oil-lubricated journal bearing being the important supporting component of the bearing-rotor systems and its nonlinear nature. In order to analyze the lubrication characteristics of journal bearings efficiently and save computational efforts, an approximate solution of nonlinear oil film forces of a finite length turbulent journal bearing with couple stress flow is proposed based on Sommerfeld and Ocvirk numbers. Reynolds equation in lubrication of a finite length turbulent journal bearing is solved based on multi-parametric principle. Load-carrying capacity of nonlinear oil film is obtained, and the results obtained by different methods are compared. The validation of the proposed method is verified, meanwhile, the relationships of load-carrying capacity versus eccentricity ratio and width-to-diameter ratio under turbulent and couple stress working conditions are analyzed. The numerical results show that both couple stress flow and eccentricity ratio have obvious influence on oil film pressure distribution, and the proposed method approximates the load-carrying capacity of turbulent journal bearings efficiently with various width-to-diameter ratios. 8Application and safety assessment for nano-composite materials in food packaging显示文摘The technical breakthroughs and rapid developments in nanotechnologies enabling goods and products based on nanomaterials (NMs) has come to media and public attention as potentially one of the most significant technological advances of our time. Among these technical applications, nano-composite food packaging, which combines the NMs and conventional packaging, is at the forefront of applications in nanotechnologies, leading the whole industrial chain based on nanotechnologies with high speed development. Taking into account the status of the nano-composites applied in food packaging and present development trends, this review is focused on summarizing the basic applications of the nano-composites in food packaging as well as its risk assessment. 9Treatment of coke plant wastewater by A/O fixed biofilm system显示文摘Coke plant wastewater was treated by an anaerobic–aerobic (A/O) biofilm system. A lab-scale experiment, during which semi-soft media were packed in both the anaerobic and the aerobic reactors, was carried out. The influence parameters, such as HRT, C/N ratio, OLR, and the recycling flow rate on the performance of the system, were studied. The results showed that a sufficient carbon source was important to the performance of bio-degradation system. The COD removal rate increased from 64.15% to 83.28% by raising C/N in wastewater from 2.5 (no ex-ternal carbon source) to 5. But the effluent COD concentration was still a little higher than the discharge standard. In order to make it meet the discharge standard, a deep treatment, coagula-tion, was applied, which was proved as an effective method. Then the effluent COD concentra-tion can be brought to lower than 200 mg·L?1. The NH4-N removal rate in this system was sat-isfactory, being higher than 99%. In addition, it was almost not affected by both C/N ratio and coagulation treatment. 10Application of deep learning in ecological resource research:Theories, methods, and challenges显示文摘Ecological resources are an important material foundation for the survival,development,and self-realization of human beings.In-depth and comprehensive research and understanding of ecological resources are beneficial for the sustainable development of human society.Advances in observation technology have improved the ability to acquire long-term,cross-scale,massive,heterogeneous,and multi-source data.Ecological resource research is entering a new era driven by big data.Traditional statistical learning and machine learning algorithms have problems with saturation in dealing with big data.Deep learning is a method for automatically extracting complex high-dimensional nonlinear features,which is increasingly used for scientific and industrial data processing because of its ability to avoid saturation with big data.To promote the application of deep learning in the field of ecological resource research,here,we first introduce the relationship between deep learning theory and research on ecological resources,common tools,and datasets.Second,applications of deep learning in classification and recognition,detection and localization,semantic segmentation,instance segmentation,and graph neural network in typical spatial discrete data are presented through three cases:species classification,crop breeding,and vegetation mapping.Finally,challenges and opportunities for the application of deep learning in ecological resource research in the era of big data are summarized by considering the characteristics of ecological resource data and the development status of deep learning.It is anticipated that the cooperation and training of cross-disciplinary talents may promote the standardization and sharing of ecological resource data,improve the universality and interpretability of algorithms,and enrich applications with the development of hardware.Qinghua GUO Shichao JIN Min LI Qiuli YANG Kexin XU Yuanzhen JU Jing ZHANG Jing XUAN Jin LIU Yanjun SU Qiang XU Yu LIU 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,10:7
11Characterization and mapping of a novel mutant sms1 (senescence and male sterility 1) in rice显示文摘Plant senescence plays diverse important roles in development and environmental responses.However,the molecular basis of plant senescence is remained largely unknown.A rice spontaneous mutant with the character of early senescence and male sterility (sms) was found in the breeding line NT10-748.In order to identify the gene SMS1 and the underlying mechanism,we preliminarily analyzed physiological and biochemical phenotypes of the mutant.The mutant contained lower chlorophyll content compared with the wild type control and was severe male sterile with lower pollen viability.Genetic analysis showed that the mutant was controlled by a single recessive gene.By the map-based cloning approach,we fine-mapped SMS1 to a 67 kb region between the markers Z3-4 and Z1-1 on chromosome 8 using 1,074 F2 recessive plants derived from the cross between the mutant sms1 (japonica) × Zhenshan 97 (indica),where no known gene involved in senescence or male sterility has been identified.Therefore the SMS1 gene will be a novel gene that regulates the two developmental processes.The further cloning and functional analysis of the SMS1 gene is under way.Wenyi Yan Shenghai Ye Qingsheng Jin Longjun Zeng Yu Peng Dawei Yan Weibing Yang Donglei Yang Zuhua He Yanjun Dong Xiaoming Zhang 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,1:6

14A Virulent PEDV Strain FJzz1 with Genomic Mutations and Deletions at the High Passage Level Was Attenuated in Piglets via Serial Passage In Vitro显示文摘Highly virulent porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)strains re-emerged and circulated in China at the end of 2010,causing significant economic losses in the pork industry worldwide.To understand the genetic dynamics of PEDV during its passage in vitro,the PEDV G2 strain FJzzl was serially propagated in Vero cells for up to 200 passages.The susceptibility and adaptability of the FJzzl strain increased gradually as it was serially passaged in vitro.Sequence analysis revealed that amino acid(aa)changes were mainly concentrated in the S glycoprotein,which accounted for 72.22%-85.71%of all aa changes.A continuous aa deletion(^(55)I^(56)G^(57)E→^(55)K^(56)Δ^(57)Δ)occurred in the N-terminal domain of S1(Sl-NTD).To examine how the aa changes affected its virulence,FJzzl-F20 and FJzzl-F200 were selected to simultaneously evaluate their pathogenicity in suckling piglets.All the piglets in the FJzzl-F20-infected group showed typical diarrhea at 24 h postinfection,and the piglets died successively by 48 h postinfection.However,the clinical signs of the piglets in the FJzzl-F200-infected group were significantly weaker,and no deaths occurred.The FJzzl-F200-infected group also showed a lower level of fecal viral shedding and lower viral loads in the intestinal tissues,and no obvious histopathological lesions.TypeⅠandⅢinterferon were induced in the FJzzl-F200 infection group,together with pro-inflammatory cytokines,such as TNF-α,IL-1βand IL-8.These results indicate that the identified genetic changes may contribute to the attenuation of FJzzl strain,and the attenuated FJzzl-F200 may have the potential for developing PEDV live-attenuated vaccines.Pengfei Chen Xiongwei Zhao Shuting Zhou Tianxing Zhou Xiangmei Tan Xia Wu Wu Tong Fei Gao Lingxue Yu Yifeng Jiang Hai Yu Zhibiao Yang Guangzhi Tong Yanjun Zhou 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:4
15Acupoint combinations used for treatment of Alzheimer's disease: A data mining analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To identify the acupoint combinations used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD).METHODS: The clinical literature regarding acupuncture and moxibustion for AD was searched and collected from databases including Chinese Biomedical Medicine, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database and PubMed. The database of acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions for AD was established by using Excel software so as to conduct the descriptive analysis, association analysis on the data.RESULTS: Baihui(GV 20), Sishencong(EX-HN 1),Shenmen(HT 7), Zusanli(ST 36), Neiguan(PC 6),Fengchi(GB 20), Taixi(KI 3), Dazhui(GV 14), Shenshu(BL 23), Sanyinjiao(SP 6), Shenting(GV 24), Fenglong(ST 40), Xuanzhong(GB 39), Shuigou(GV 26)and Taichong(LR 3) were of higher frequency in the treatment of AD with acupnucture and moxibustion. Most acupoints were selected from the Governor Vessel. The commonly used acupoints were located on the head, face, neck and lower limbs. The combination of the local acupoints with the distal ones was predominated. The crossing points among the specific points presented the advantage in the treatment. 16Thymosin Alpha-1 Inhibits Complete Freund’s Adjuvant-Induced Pain and Production of Microglia-Mediated Pro-inflammatory Cytokines in Spinal Cord显示文摘Activation of inflammatory responses regulates the transmission of pain pathways through an integrated network in the peripheral and central nervous systems.The immunopotentiator thymosin alpha-1(Tal)has recently been reported to have anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective functions in rodents.However,how Tα1 affects inflammatory pain remains unclear.In the present study,intraperitoneal injection of Tal attenuated complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA)-induced pain hypersensitivity,and decreased the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6)in inflamed skin and the spinal cord.We found that CFA-induced peripheral inflammation evoked strong microglial activation,but the effect was reversed by Tα1.Notably,Tα1 reversed the CFA-induced up-regulation of vesicular glutamate transporter(VGLUT)and down-regulated the vesicular γ-aminobutyric acid transporter(VGAT)in the spinal cord.Taken together,these results suggest that Tα1 plays a therapeutic role in inflammatory pain and in the modulation of microgliainduced pro-inflammatory cytokine production in addition to mediation of VGLUT and VGAT expression in the spinal cord.Yunlong Xu Yanjun Jiang Lin Wang Jiahua Huang Junmao Wen Hang Lv Xiaoli Wu Chaofan Wan Chuanxin Yu Wenjie Zhang Jiaying Zhao Yinqi Zhou Yongjun Chen 2019Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,4:4
17Numerical simulation of seepage flow field in groundwater source heat pump system and its influence on temperature field显示文摘Energy utilization in the aquifers is a new technology closely related to development of heat pump technique. It is significant for the flow distribution to be predicted in the aquifer surrounding the Groundwater Source Heat Pump System (GSHPS). The authors presented a new concept of 'flow transfixion' by analyzing general features of aquifers, and then discussed interaction of the flow transfixion with the heat transfixion, which has practical significance to projects. A numerical model of groundwater flow was established based on the basic tenets of water-heat transferring in the aquifer. 18Activation of anterior thalamic reticular nucleus GABAergic neurons promotes arousal from propofol anesthesia in mice显示文摘Propofol is widely used for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia,which causes a rapid loss of consciousness.However,the mechanisms underlying the hypnosis effect of propofol are still not fully understood.The thalamic reticular nucleus(TRN)is crucial for regulating wakefulness,sleep rhythm generation,and sleep stability,while the role of TRN in the process of propofol-induced anesthesia is still unknown.Here,we investigated the function of the anterior TRN in propofol general anesthesia.Our results demonstrated that the neural activity of anterior TRN is suppressed during propofol anesthesia,whereas it is robustly activated from anesthesia by recording the calcium signals using fiber photometry technology.The results showed that the activation of anterior TRN neurons by chemogenetic and optogenetic methods shortens the emergency time without changing the induction time.Conversely,chemogenetic or optogenetic inhibition of the TRN neurons leads to a delay in the recovery time.Our study showed that anterior TRN is crucial for behavioral arousal without affecting the induction time of propofol anesthesia.Yanjun Liu Bing Chen Yirong Cai Yuan Han Ying Xia Nanqi Li Bingqian Fan Tianjie Yuan Junli Jiang Po Gao Weifeng Yu Yingfu Jiao Wenxian Li 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,7:3

20PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS Interact with the ABA Receptors PYL8 and PYL9 to Orchestrate ABA Signaling in Darkness显示文摘PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS(PIFs)are a group of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors that can physically interact with photoreceptors,including phytochromes and cryptochromes.It was previously demonstrated that PIFs accumulated in darkness and repressed seedling photomorphogenesis,and that PIFs linked different photosensory and hormonal pathways to control plant growth and development.In this study,we show that PIFs positively regulate the ABA signaling pathway during the seedling stage specifically in darkness.We found that PIFs positively regulate ABI5 transcript and protein levels in darkness in response to exogenous ABA treatment by binding directly to the G-box motifs in the ABI5 promoter.Consistently,PIFs and the G-box motifs in the ABI5 promoter determine ABI5 expression in darkness,and overexpression of ABI5 could rescue the ABA-insensitive phenotypes of pifq mutants in the dark.Moreover,we discovered that PIFs can physically interact with the ABA receptors PYL8 and PYL9,and that this interaction is not regulated by ABA.Further analyses showed that PYL8 and PYL9 promote PIF4 protein accumulation in the dark and enhance PIF4 binding to the ABI5 promoter,but negatively regulate PIF4-mediated ABI5 activation.Taken together,our data demonstrate that PIFs interact with ABA receptors to orchestrate ABA signaling in darkness by controlling ABI5 expression,providing new insights into the pivotal roles of PIFs as signal integrators in regulating plant growth and development.Lijuan Qi Shan Liu Cong Li Jingying Fu Yanjun Jing Jinkui Cheng Hong Li Dun Zhang Xiaoji Wang Xiaojing Dong Run Han Bosheng Li Yu Zhang Zhen Li William Terzaghi Chun-Peng Song Rongcheng Lin Zhizhong Gong Jigang Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,3:3
