| 1 | SIMULATION OF MAXIMUM LIGHT USE EFFICIENCY FOR SOME TYPICAL VEGETATION TYPES IN CHINA显示文摘Maximum light use efficiency (εmax) is a key parameter for the estimation of net primary pro-ductivity (NPP) derived from remote sensing data. There are still many divergences about its value for each vegetation type. The εmax for some typical vegetation types in China is simulated using a modi-fied least squares function based on NOAA/AVHRR remote sensing data and field-observed NPP data. The vegetation classification accuracy is introduced to the process. The sensitivity analysis of εmax to vegetation classification accuracy is also conducted. The results show that the simulated values of εmax are greater than the value used in CASA model, and less than the values simulated with BIOME-BGC model. This is consistent with some other studies. The rela-tive error of εmax resulting from classification accuracy is ?5.5%―8.0%. | 4 | Wearable strain sensing textile based on one-dimensional stretchable and weavable yarn sensors显示文摘Flexible, wearable, and even stretchable sensors are the key components ofsmart electronic textiles. However, most reported flexible and wearable sensorsfor wearable electronics are usually fabricated in two-dimensional (2D) planarstrip configurations, which cannot be properly integrated into textile structuresand thus greatly degrade intrinsic properties such as the softness, flexibility, andair permeability of textiles and the aesthetic feeling of clothing. In this work, a newone-dimensional weavable strain sensing yarn consisting of an elastic polyurethane(PU) core, a conductive Ag-nanopartides/graphene-microsheets composite sheath,and a silicone encapsulation layer was designed and fabricated through aneasily manipulated protocol. Arising from the reasonable structural design andappropriate material selection, the as-fabricated strain sensor not only exhibitedexcellent flexibility, stretchability, and highly repeatable electromechanicalstability (a repeatability error of 1.56%) but also possessed both high sensitivity(a gauge factor of nearly 500) and a relatively wide working range (0-50%applied strain) with good linearity (a correlation coefficient of 0.98). In addition,the facile, nearly all-solution-based fabrication protocol enabled the scalableproduction of long conductive yams. Thus, the proper yarn length and superbmechanical properties endowed the stretchable conductive yarn with goodweavability. The excellent wearability of the stretchable conductive yarn wasderived from the outermost isolating, hydrophobic, and biocompatible siliconeencapsulation layer. | 5 | Multi-objective robust control based on fuzzy singularly perturbed models for hypersonic vehicles显示文摘In this paper, we propose a multi-objective robust controller based on fuzzy singularly perturbed models (FSPM) for the longitudinal motion of an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle. The control objective is to provide velocity and altitude tracking in the presence of the uncertainties and unknown nonlinearities in the model caused by variations in flight conditions. By approximating the multi-time-scale model with FSPM, ill-posed matrix calculations are circumvented. Under this framework, a fuzzy multi-objective robust controller is developed, and the linear matrix inequalities (LMI) condition is derived. | 6 | Effects of O3/Cl2 disinfection on corrosion and opportunistic pathogens growth in drinking water distribution systems显示文摘The effects of O_3/Cl_2 disinfection on corrosion and the growth of opportunistic pathogens in drinking water distribution systems were studied using annular reactors(ARs).The corrosion process and most probable number(MPN) analysis indicated that the higher content of iron-oxidizing bacteria and iron-reducing bacteria in biofilms of the AR treated with O_3/Cl_2 induced higher Fe_3O_4 formation in corrosion scales.These corrosion scales became more stable than the ones that formed in the AR treated with Cl_2 alone.O_3/Cl_2 disinfection inhibited corrosion and iron release efficiently by changing the content of corrosion-related bacteria.Moreover,ozone disinfection inactivated or damaged the opportunistic pathogens due to its strong oxidizing properties.The damaged bacteria resulting from initial ozone treatment were inactivated by the subsequent chlorine disinfection.Compared with the AR treated with Cl_2 alone,the opportunistic pathogens M.avium and L.pneumophila were not detectable in effluents of the AR treated with O_3/Cl_2,and decreased to(4.60 ± 0.14) and(3.09 ± 0.12) log10(gene copies/g corrosion scales) in biofilms,respectively.The amoeba counts were also lower in the AR treated with O_3/Cl_2.Therefore,O_3/C_l2 disinfection can effectively control opportunistic pathogens in effluents and biofilms of an AR used as a model for a drinking water distribution system. | Haibo Wang Chun Hu Suona Zhang Lizhong Liu Xueci Xing | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,11: | 11 |
| 7 | One-year survey of opportunistic premise plumbing pathogens and free-living amoebae in the tap-water of one northern city of China显示文摘In this study, qPCR was used to quantify opportunistic premise plumbing pathogens(OPPPs) and free-living amoebae in 11 tap water samples collected over four seasons from a city in northern China. Results demonstrated that the average numbers of gene copies of Legionella spp. and Mycobacterium spp. were significantly higher than those of Aeromonas spp.(p < 0.05). Legionella spp. and Mycobacterium spp. were 100%(44/44) positively detected while P. aeruginosa and Aeromonas spp. were 79.54%(35/44) and 77.27%(34/44) positively detected. Legionella pneumophila was only detected in 4 samples(4/44), demonstrating its occasional occurrence. No Mycobacterium avium or Naegleria fowleri was detected in any of the samples. The average gene copy numbers of target OPPPs were the highest in summer,suggesting seasonal prevalence of OPPPs. Average gene copy numbers of OPPPs in the taps of low-use-frequency were higher than in taps of high-use-frequency, but the difference was not significant for some OPPPs(p > 0.05). Moderate negative correlations between the chlorine concentration and the gene copy numbers of OPPPs were observed by Spearman analysis(rsranged from -0.311 to -0.710, p < 0.05). However, no significant correlations existed between OPPPs and AOC, BDOC, or turbidity. Moderate positive correlations were observed between the target microorganisms, especially for Acanthamoeba spp., through Spearman analysis(p < 0.05). | 8 | Inhibition of growth and metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer targeted by Traditional Chinese Medicine Tubeimu in orthotopic mice models显示文摘Objective: Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) is highly invasive and metastatic, which is in urgent need of transformative therapeutics. Tubeimu(TBM), the rhizome of Bolbostemma paniculatum(Maxim.) Franquet, is one of the Chinese medicinal herbs used for breast diseases since the ancient times. The present study evaluated the efficacy, especially the anti-metastatic effects of the dichloromethane extract of Tubeimu(ETBM) on TNBC orthotopic mouse models and cell lines.Methods: We applied real-time imaging on florescent orthotopic TNBC mice model and tested cell migration and invasion abilities with MDA-MB-231 cell line. Digital gene expression sequencing was performed and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) analysis applied to explore the pathways influenced by ETBM.Moreover, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions(q RT-PCR) and Western blot were delivered to confirm the gene expression changes.Results: ETBM exhibited noticeable control on tumor metastasis and growth of TNBC tumors with no obvious toxicity. In compliance with this, it also showed inhibition of cell migration and invasion in vitro. | 9 | Carbon-Based Flexible and All-Solid-State Micro-supercapacitors Fabricated by Inkjet Printing with Enhanced Performance显示文摘By means of inkjet printing technique, flexible and all-solid-state micro-supercapacitors(MSCs) were fabricated with carbon-based hybrid ink composed of graphene oxide(GO,98.0vol.%) ink and commercial pen ink(2.0vol.%). A small amount of commercial pen ink was added to effectively reduce the agglomeration of theGO sheets during solvent evaporation and the following reduction processes in which the presence of graphite carbon nanoparticles served as nano-spacer to separate GO sheets. The printed device fabricated using the hybrid ink,combined with the binder-free microelectrodes and interdigital microelectrode configuration, exhibits nearly 780%enhancement in areal capacitance compared with that of pure GO ink. It also shows excellent flexibility and cycling stability with nearly 100% retention of the areal capacitance after 10,000 cycles. | 10 | Boron modulating electronic structure of FeN4C to initiate high-efficiency oxygen reduction reaction and high-performance zinc-air battery显示文摘The biggest challenge is to develop a low cost and readily available catalyst to replace expensive commercial Pt/C for efficient electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).In this research,closo-[B_(12)H_(12)]^(2−)and 1,10-phenanthroline-iron complexes were introduced into the porous metal-organic framework by impregnation method,and further annealing treatment achieved the successful anchoring of single-atom-Fe in B-doped CN Matrix(FeN4CB).The ORR activity of FeN4CB is comparable to the widely used commercial 20 wt%Pt/C.Where the half-wave potential(E_(1/2))in alkaline medium up to 0.84 V,and even in the face of challenging ORR in acidic medium,the E_(1/2)of ORR driven by FeN4CB is still as high as 0.81 V.When FeN4CB was used as air cathode,the open circuit voltage of Zn-air battery reaches 1.435 V,and the power density and specific capacity are as high as 177 mW cm^(−2)and 800 mAh g_(Zn)^(−1)(theoretical value:820 mAh g_(Zn)^(−1)),respectively.The dazzling point of FeN4CB also appears in the high ORR stability,whether in alkaline or acidic media,E_(1/2)and limiting current density are still close to the initial value after 5000 times cycles.After continuously running the charge-discharge test for 220 h,the charge voltage and discharge voltage of the rechargeable zinc-air battery with FeN4CB as the air cathode maintained the initial state.Density functional theory calculations reveals that introducing B atom to Fe–N4–C can adjust the electronic structure to easily break O=O bond and significantly reduce the energy barrier of the rate-determining step resulting in an improved ORR activity. | Xue Zhao Xue Li Zenghui Bi Yuwen Wang Haibo Zhang Xiaohai Zhou Quan Wang Yingtang Zhou Huaisheng Wang Guangzhi Hu | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3: | 6 |

| 12 | Atmospheric eddy anomalies associated with the wintertime North Pacific subtropical front strength and their influences on the seasonal-mean atmosphere显示文摘This study investigates transient eddy activity anomalies in the mid-latitude upper troposphere associated with intensity variability of the wintertime North Pacific subtropical front. Our results show that the meridional gradient of air temperature and baroclinic instability in the mid-latitude atmosphere become stronger as the subtropical front intensifies, and the mid-latitude westerly jet accelerates with barotropic structure. We further divide the mid-latitude atmospheric eddy activities into high-(2–7 days) and low-frequency(10–90 days) eddy activities according to their life periods. We find that, when the oceanic subtropical front intensifies, the high-frequency atmospheric eddy activity in the mid-latitudes strengthens while the low-frequency eddy activity weakens. The stronger high-frequency eddy activity tends to moderate the air temperature gradient and baroclinicity in the mid-latitudes. High-frequency eddy anomalies accelerate the westerly jet on the northern side and downstream of the westerly jet, and enhance the jet with equivalent barotropic structure. In contrast, the weaker low-frequency eddy activity has a negative contribution to zonal wind speed tendency and attenuates the zonal homogenization of the jet. | 13 | Characterization of bacterial community and iron corrosion in drinking water distribution systems with O3-biological activated carbon treatment显示文摘Bacterial community structure and iron corrosion were investigated for simulated drinking water distribution systems(DWDSs) composed of annular reactors incorporating three different treatments: ozone, biologically activated carbon and chlorination(O_3-BAC-Cl_2);ozone and chlorination(O3-Cl_2); or chlorination alone(Cl_2). The lowest corrosion rate and iron release, along with more Fe_3O_4 formation, occurred in DWDSs with O_3-BAC-Cl_2 compared to those without a BAC filter. It was verified that O_3-BAC influenced the bacterial community greatly to promote the relative advantage of nitrate-reducing bacteria(NRB)in DWDSs. Moreover, the advantaged NRB induced active Fe(III) reduction coupled to Fe(II) oxidation, enhancing Fe_3O_4 formation and inhibiting corrosion. In addition, O_3-BAC pretreatment could reduce high-molecular-weight fractions of dissolved organic carbon effectively to promote iron particle aggregation and inhibit further iron release. | 16 | Subseasonal Zonal Oscillation of the Western Pacific Subtropical High during Early Summer显示文摘This study examines the features and dynamical processes of subseasonal zonal oscillation of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH) during early summer, by performing a multivariate empirical orthogonal function(MVEOF) analysis on daily winds and a diagnosis on potential vorticity(PV) at 500 hPa for the period 1979–2016. The first MV-EOF mode is characterized by an anticyclonic anomaly occupying southeastern China to subtropical western North Pacific regions. It has a period of 10–25 days and represents zonal shift of the WPSH. When the WPSH stretches more westward, the South Asian high(SAH) extends more eastward. Above-normal precipitation is observed over the Yangtze–Huaihe River(YHR) basin. Suppressed convection with anomalous descending motion is located over the subtropical western North Pacific. The relative zonal movement of the SAH and the WPSH helps to establish an anomalous local vertical circulation of ascending motion with upper-level divergence over the YHR basin and descending motion with upper-level convergence over the subtropical western Pacific. The above local vertical circulation provides a dynamic condition for persistent rainfall over the YHR basin. An enhanced southwest flow over the WPSH's western edge transports more moisture to eastern China, providing a necessary water vapor condition for the persistent rainfall over the YHR basin. A potential vorticity diagnosis reveals that anomalous diabatic heating is a main source for PV generation. The anomalous cooling over the subtropical western Pacific produces a local negative PV center at 500 hPa. The anomalous heating over the YHR basin generates a local positive PV center. The above south–north dipolar structure of PV anomaly along with the climatological southerly flow leads to northward advection of negative PV. These two processes are conducive to the WPSH's westward extension. | 18 | Accurate and efficient pulmonary CT imaging workflow for COVID-19 patients by the combination of intelligent guided robot and automatic positioning technology显示文摘Background:The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has put radiologists at a higher risk of infection during the computer tomography(CT)examination for the patients.To help settling these problems,we adopted a remote-enabled and automated contactless imaging workflow for CT examination by the combination of intelligent guided robot and automatic positioning technology to reduce the potential exposure of radiologists to 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)infection and to increase the examination efficiency,patient scanning accuracy and better image quality in chest CT imaging.Methods:From February 10 to April 12,2020,adult COVID-19 patients underwent chest CT examinations on a CT scanner using the same scan protocol except with the conventional imaging workflow(CW group)or an automatic contactless imaging workflow(AW group)in Wuhan Leishenshan Hospital(China)were retrospectively and prospectively enrolled in this study.The total examination time in two groups was recorded and compared.The patient compliance of breath holding,positioning accuracy,image noise and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)were assessed by three experienced radiologists and compared between the two groups.Results:Compared with the CW group,the total positioning time of the AW group was reduced((118.0±20.0)s vs.(129.0±29.0)s,P=0.001),the proportion of scanning accuracy was higher(98%vs.93%),and the lung length had a significant difference((0.90±1.24)cm vs.(1.16±1.49)cm,P=0.009).For the lesions located in the pulmonary centrilobular and subpleural regions,the image noise in the AW group was significantly lower than that in the CW group(centrilobular region:(140.4±78.6)HU vs.(153.8±72.7)HU,P=0.028;subpleural region:(140.6±80.8)HU vs.(159.4±82.7)HU,P=0.010).For the lesions located in the peripheral,centrilobular and subpleural regions,SNR was significantly higher in the AW group than in the CW group(centrilobular region:6.6±4.3 vs.4.9±3.7,P=0.006;subpleural region:6.4±4.4 vs.4.8±4.0,P<0.001).Conclusions:The automatic contactless imaging workflow using intelligent guided robot and automatic posi-tioning technology allows for reducing the examination time and improving the patient’s compliance of breath holding,positioning accuracy and image quality in chest CT imaging. | Yadong Gang Xiongfeng Chen Hanlun Wang Jianying Li Ying Guo Bin Wen Jinxiang Hu Haibo Xu Xinghuan Wang | 2021 | Intelligent Medicine2021,1,1: | 2 |

| 20 | Influence of the biological carbon pump effect on the sources and deposition of organic matter in Fuxian Lake, a deep oligotrophic lake in southwest China显示文摘Biological carbon pumping(BCP)is a key process in which dissolved inorganic carbon in terrestrial aquatic ecosystems is utilized by aquatic autotrophs for photosynthesis and transformed into autochthonous organic matter(AOC).However,the mechanisms underlying BCP and the amount of generated AOC deposited effectively,are still poorly understood.Therefore,we conducted a systematic study combining modern hydrochemical monitoring and a sediment trap experiment in Fuxian Lake(Yunnan,SW China),the second-deepest plateau,oligotrophic freshwater lake in China.Temperature,pH,EC(electrical conductivity),DO(dissolved O2),[HCO3^-],[Ca^2+],SIc,partial CO2(pCO2)pressure,and carbon isotopic compositions of HCO3^-(δ^13CDIc)in water from Fuxian Lake all displayed distinct seasonal and vertical variations.This was especially apparent in an inverse correlation between pCO2 and DO,indicating that variations of hydrochemistry in the lake water were mainly controlled by the metabolism of the aquatic phototrophs.Furthermore,the lowest C/N ratios and highestδ^13Corg were recorded in the trap sediments.Analyses of the C/N ratio demonstrated that the proportions of AOC ranged from 30%to 100%of all OC,indicating that AOC was an important contributor to sedimentary organic matter(OC).It was calculated that the AOC flux in Fuxian Lake was 20.43 t C km^-2 in 2017.Therefore,AOC produced by carbonate weathering and aquatic photosynthesis could potentially be a significant carbon sink and may have an important contribution to solving the lack of carbon sinks in the global carbon cycle. | Haibo He Zaihua Liu Chongying Chen Yu Wei Qian Bao Hailong Sun Yundi Hu Hao Yan | 2019 | Acta Geochimica2019,38,5: | 2 |
