CRISPR/Cas9-introduced single and multiple mutagenesis in strawberry显示文摘CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing is a powerful tool for life science research.Recently, strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa),an important horticultural crop, has emerged as a model organism for investigating the regulatory mechanisms of fruit development and ripening (Shulaev et al.,2011;Jia et al.,2013,2017;Kang et al.,2013;Han et al.,2015).While most cultivated strawberries (e.g.,F.× ananassa)are octoploid, most wild strawberries (e.g.,F.vesca)are diploid.Although CRISPR/Cas9 methods have been established in many plants, the use of this tool in strawberry needs to be further explored (Zhou et al.,2018). | Sinian Xing Meiru Jia Lingzhi Wei Wenwen Mao Usman Ali Abbasi Yaoyao Zhao Yating Chen Minglin Cao Kai Zhang Zhengrong Dai Zhechao Dou Wensuo Jia Bingbing Li | 2018 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2018,45,12: | 4

HIF-1α signaling: Essential roles in tumorigenesis and implications in targeted therapies显示文摘The hypoxic microenvironment is an essential characteristic of most malignant tu-mors.Notably,hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha(HIF-1a)is a key regulatory factor of cellular adaptation to hypoxia, and many critical pathways are correlated with the biological activity of organisms via HIF-1a.In the intra-tumoral hypoxic environment,HIF-1αis highly expressed and contributes to the malignant progression of tumors, which in turn results in a poor prog-nosis in patients.Recently,it has been indicated that HiF-1αinvolves in various critical pro-cesses of life events and tumor development via regulating the expression of HiF-1a target genes, such as cell proliferation and apoptosis, angiogenesis, glucose metabolism, immune response, therapeutic resistance, etc.Apart from solid tumors, accumulating evidence has re-vealed that HiF-1αis also closely associated with the development and progression of hemato-logical malignancies, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.Targeted inhibition of HiF-1a can facilitate an increased sensitivity of patients with malignancies to relevant ther-apeutic agents. In the review,we elaborated on the basic structure and biological functions of HIF-1a and summarized their current role in various malignancies. It is expected that they will have future potential fortargeted therapy. | Yan Zhao Cheng Xing Yating Deng Can Ye Hongling Peng | 2024 | Genes & Diseases2024,11,1: | 1

Zirconium Doped Hydrotalcite-based NiAl Mixed Oxides——Enhanced Performance for Adsorption of SO2 and NO显示文摘In the present study, the adsorptive behavior of zirconium doped hydrotalcite-based NiAl mixed oxides for reducing NO and SO2 was compared. According to tlie experimental results, the Zr^4+ cations were partially dissolved in crystalline NiO phase. With the addition of Zr, new centers for oxygen release and storage were formed, Lewis acid strength increased, and weakly and strongly alkaline sites were expanded. Moreover, in situ FTIR(Fourier transfonn infrared spectroscopy) investigation demonstrated that the amounts of surface bisulfite, sulfite, nitrite and nitrate spe? cies ofZrNiAlO were much more than those ofNiAlO. On the whole, this study concluded that the addition of Zr^4+ to NiAlO works to improve this compound as major absorbent for SO2 and NO. | ZHAO Ling ZHANG Yu LI Lexin XING Yating WANG Shuai Christopher J. | 7 | Low-density polyethylene microplastics partially alleviate the ecotoxicological effects induced by cadmium exposure on the earthworm Eisenia fetida显示文摘LDPE had no effect on the mortality, growth, and reproduction of earthworms.LDPE did not alter the mortality, growth, and reproduction of earth-worm caused by Cd.LDPE alleviated histopathological damage to earthworms caused by Cd.LDPE alleviated DNA damage in earthworm coelomocytes caused by Cd.LDPE did not affect the accumulation of Cd in earthworms.Cadmium(Cd)can accumulate in the food chain, with serious impacts on human health and safety.Microplastics(MPs)such as low-density polyethylene(LDPE)should be considered not only as a single pollutant but also as a carrier of other pollutants. In this study,we investigated the joint effects of 30%LDPE and 313 mg kg-1 Cd on mortality, growth, reproduction, microstructure,DNA damage, oxidative stress, and mRNA levels in the earthworm Eisenia fetida. We found that 313 mg kg-1 Cd inhibited growth and reproduction and damaged the microstructures of the skin and intestine.Meanwhile,LDPE had no effect on the mortality, growth,or cocoon production of earthworms. Moreover,it did not increase the mortality, growth,or inhibition of cocoon production caused by Cd and instead alleviated the DNA damage in coelomocytes caused by Cd treatment. Finally,it did not alter the accumulation of Cd in the worms. These indicators can be used for toxicity safety assessment and soil ecological risk assessment of LDPE and Cd cooccurrence in soil. | Song Zhang Yating Du Guangshen Shang Kejiao Hu Xing Wang | 2024 | Soil Ecology Letters2024,6,1: | 0
Effects of soybean oil exposure on the survival, reproduction, biochemical responses, and gut microbiome of the earthworm Eisenia fetida显示文摘With increasing production of kitchen waste, cooking oil gradually enters the soil, where it can negatively affect soil fauna. In this study,we explored the effects of soybean oil on the survival, growth, reproduction, tissue structure, biochemical responses,mRNA expression, and gut microbiome of earthworms(Eisenia fetida). The median lethal concentration of soybean oil was found to be 15.59%.Earthworm growth and reproduction were significantly inhibited following exposure to a sublethal concentration of soybean oil(1/3 LC50,5.2%).The activity of the antioxidant enzymes total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD),peroxidase(POD),and catalase(CAT)were affected under soybean oil exposure. The glutathione(GSH)content decreased significantly, whereas that of the lipid peroxide malondialdehyde(MDA)increased significantly after soybean oil exposure.mRNA expression levels of the SOD,metallothionein(MT),lysenin and lysozyme were significantly upregulated. The abundance of Bacteroides species, which are related to mineral oil repair, and Muribaculaceae species, which are related to immune regulation, increased within the earthworm intestine. These results indicate that soybean oil waste is toxic to earthworms. Thus, earthworms deployed defense mechanisms involving antioxidant system and gut microbiota for protection against soybean oil exposure-induced stress. | Yating Du Guangshen Shang Junjie Zhai Xing Wang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,11: | 0
A visual analysis approach for data imputation via multi-party tabular data correlation strategies显示文摘Data imputation is an essential pre-processing task for data governance, aimed at filling in incomplete data. However, conventional data imputation methods can only partly alleviate data incompleteness using isolated tabular data, and they fail to achieve the best balance between accuracy and eficiency. In this paper,we present a novel visual analysis approach for data imputation. We develop a multi-party tabular data association strategy that uses intelligent algorithms to identify similar columns and establish column correlations across multiple tables. Then,we perform the initial imputation of incomplete data using correlated data entries from other tables.Additionally,we develop a visual analysis system to refine data imputation candidates. Our interactive system combines the multi-party data imputation approach with expert knowledge, allowing for a better understanding of the relational structure of the data. This significantly enhances the accuracy and eficiency of data imputation, thereby enhancing the quality of data governance and the intrinsic value of data assets.Experimental validation and user surveys demonstrate that this method supports users in verifying and judging the associated columns and similar rows using theirdomain knowledge. | Haiyang ZHU Dongming HAN Jiacheng PAN Yating WEI Yingchaojie FENG Luoxuan WENG Ketian MAO Yuankai XING Jianshu LV Qiucheng WAN Wei CHEN | 2024 | Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2024,25,3: | 0
