| 1 | A mid-Holocene drought interval as evidenced by lake desiccation in the Alashan Plateau,Inner Mongolia,China显示文摘The mid-Holocene in China is traditionally thought to be a warm and humid period with a strong summer monsoon, and is often termed the Holocene Climatic Optimum or Megathermal Period. Here we present lake geomorphologic and lithological evidence from the Alashan Plateau, part of the Mongolian Plateau, that indicates strong lake desiccation during the mid-Holocene. High resolution pollen data from Zhuyeze Lake, at the present summer monsoon margin, is also presented. These data show that present lakes and wetlands in the Juyanze Lake basin west of the Badain Jaran desert, in the Zhuyeze Lake basin between the Badain Jaran and Tengger deserts, and in lakes in the eastern Tengger desert, dried or experienced low lake levels in the mid-Holocene around 5000—7000 cal yr BP. Pollen data further indicate that the vegetation cover declined in both the local areas and in the Qilian Mountains, suggesting the climate was drier than that associated with the present Asian summer monsoon. This mid-Holocene drought interval was present throughout a quite large region of the south Inner Mongolian Plateau. | 2 | Effects of pirenzepine ophthalmic solution on form-deprivation myopia in the guinea pigs显示文摘Background Nonselective muscarinic receptor antagonist, atropine, was believed to inhibit myopic progression. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy, through topical administration, of the M1-selective muscarinic antagonist pirenzepine in preventing experimentally induced form-deprivation myopia in guinea pigs.Methods Fifty-three guinea pigs, which underwent monocular deprivation with their eyelids sutured, were divided into 6 groups. Three groups were treated with 1%, 2% or 4% pirenzepine ophthalmic solutions; the fourth group with atropine; the fifth with saline and the last group left untreated. Ocular refraction, in vivo biometric measurements and wet eye weight were collected before and after the experiment. All the eyes were finally enucleated for histopathological examination to evaluate the possible toxic effects on ocular structures.Results Animals untreated or treated with saline produced (-2.31±1.47) D and (-2.25±0.88) D of axial myopia respectively. Those treated with 1% pirenzepine ophthalmic solution produced relative myopia of (-1.63±0.48) D, and those under the treatment of 2% and 4% pirenzepine ophthalmic solution only developed a relative myopia of (-0.89±0.42) D and (-0.70±0.41) D (F=9.56, P<0.05). The significant reduction in myopia in 2% and 4% pirenzepine treated animals was caused by significantly less vitreous chamber elongation and axial elongation of the deprived eyes [2% group: (0.009±0.052) mm, 4% group: (0.006±0.078) mm] when compared with untreated, saline treated or 1% pirenzepine treated guinea pigs [(0.057±0.056) mm, (0.064±0.053) mm and (0.033±0.035) mm, respectively]. | 3 | Effect of driving conditions and suspension parameters on dynamic load-sharing of longitudinal-connected air suspensions显示文摘The objective of this research was to investigate the effects of driving conditions and suspension parameters on dynamic load-sharing of longitudinal-connected air suspensions of a tri-axle semi-trailer.A novel nonlinear model of a multi-axle semi-trailer with longitudinal-connected air suspension was formulated based on fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and was validated through test results.The effects of driving conditions and suspension parameters on dynamic load-sharing and road-friendliness of the semi-trailer were analyzed.Simulation results indicate that the road-friendliness metric-DLC(dynamic load coefficient) is not always in accordance with the load-sharing metric-DLSC(dynamic load-sharing coefficient).The effect of employing larger air lines and connectors on the DLSC optimization ratio gives varying results as road roughness increases and as driving speed increases.When the vehicle load reduces,or the static pressure increases,the DLSC optimization ratio declines monotonically.The results also indicate that if the air line diameter is always assumed to be larger than the connector diameter,the influence of air line diameter on load-sharing is more significant than that of the connector. | CHEN YiKai HE Jie KING Mark CHEN WuWei ZHANG WeiHua | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,7: | 10 |
| 4 | Acoustic emission monitoring of rockbursts during TBM-excavated headrace tunneling at Jinping Ⅱ hydropower station显示文摘To better understand the mechanical properties of marble at Jinping II hydropower station, this paper examines the changes of brittle rocks in excavation damaged zones(EDZs) before and after excavation of tunnel with the tunnel boring machine(TBM). The paper attempts to employ the acoustic emission(AE) to study the AE characteristics and distribution of rockburst before and after TBM-excavated tunnel. It is known that the headrace tunnel #2, excavated by the drill-and-blast(D&B) method, is ahead of the headrace tunnel #3 that is excavated by TBM method. The experimental sub-tunnel #2–1, about 2000 m in depth and 13 m in diameter, between the two tunnels is scheduled. In the experimental sub-tunnel #2–1, a large number of experimental boreholes are arranged, and AE sensors are installed within 10 m apart from the wall of the headrace tunnel #3. By tracking the microseismic signals in rocks, the location, frequency, quantity, scope and intensity of the microseismic signals are basically identifed. It is observed that the AE signals mainly occur within 5 m around the rock wall, basically lasting for one day before tunnel excavation and a week after excavation. Monitoring results indicate that the rockburst signals are closely related to rock stress adjustment. The rock structure has a rapid self-adjustment capacity before and after a certain period of time during tunneling. The variations of rock stresses would last for a long time before reaching a fnal steady state. | 5 | Decoupling Analysis for a Powertrain Mounting System with a Combination of Hydraulic Mounts显示文摘The existing torque roll axis(TRA) decoupling theories for a powertrain mounting system assume that the stiffness and viscous damping properties are constant. However, real-life mounts exhibit considerable spectrally varying stiffness and damping characteristics, and the influence of the spectrally-varying properties of the hydraulic mounts on the powertrain system cannot be ignored. To overcome the deficiency, an analytical quasi-linear model of the hydraulic mount and the coupled properties of the powertrain and hydraulic mounts system are formulated. The influence of the hydraulic mounts on the TRA decoupling of a powertrain system is analytically examined in terms of eigensolutions, frequency, and impulse responses, and then a new analytical axiom is proposed based on the TRA decoupling indices. With the experimental setup of a fixed decoupler hydraulic mount in the context of non-resonant dynamic stiffness testing procedure, the quasi-linear model of the hydraulic mount is verified by comparing the predictions with the measurement. And the quasi-linear formulation of the coupled system is also verified by comparing the frequency responses with the numerical results obtained by the direct inversion method. Finally, the mounting system with a combination of hydraulic mounts is redesigned in terms of the stiffness, damping and mount locations by satisfying the new axiom. The frequency and time domain results of the redesigned system demonstrate that the torque roll axis of the redesigned powertrain mounting system is indeed decoupled in the presence of hydraulic mounts (given oscillating torque or impulsive torque excitation). | 6 | Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of DNA demethylase family in cotton显示文摘Background:DNA methylation is an important epigenetic factor that maintains and regulates gene expression.The mode and level of DNA methylation depend on the roles of DNA methyltransferase and demethylase,while DNA demethylase plays a key role in the process of DNA demethylation.The results showed that the plant’s DNA demethylase all contained conserved DNA glycosidase domain.This study identified the cotton DNA demethylase gene family and analyzed it using bioinformatics methods to lay the foundation for further study of cotton demethylase gene function.Results:This study used genomic information from diploid Gossypium raimondii JGI(D),Gossypium arboreum L.CRI(A),Gossypium hirsutum L.JGI(AD1) and Gossypium barbadebse L NAU(AD2) to Arabidopsis thaliana.Using DNA demethylase genes sequence of Arabidopsis as reference,25 DNA demethylase genes were identified in cotton by BLAST analysis.There are 4 genes in the genome D,5 genes in the genome A,10 genes in the genome AD1,and 6 genes in the genome AD2.The gene structure and evolution were analyzed by bioinformatics,and the expression patterns of DNA demethylase gene family in Gossypium hirsutum L were analyzed.From the phylogenetic tree analysis,the DNA demethylase gene family of cotton can be divided into four subfamilies:REPRESSOR of SILENCING 1(ROS1),DEMETER(DME),DEMETER-LIKE 2(DML2),and DEMETER-LIKE3(DML3).The sequence similarity of DNA demethylase genes in the same species was higher,and the genetic relationship was also relatively close.Analysis of the gene structure revealed that the DNA demethylase gene family members of the four subfamilies varied greatly.Among them,the number of introns of ROS1 and DME subfamily was larger,and the gene structure was more complex.For the analysis of the conserved domain,it was known that the DNA demethylase family gene member has an endonuclease Ⅲ(END03 c) domain.Conclusion:The genes of the DNA demethylase family are distributed differently in different cotton species,and the gene structure is very different.High expression of ROS1 genes in cotton were under abiotic stress.The expression levels of ROS1 genes were higher during the formation of cotton ovule.The transcription levels of ROS1 family genes were higher during cotton fiber development. | YANG Xiaomin LU Xuke CHEN Xiugui WANG Delong WANG Junjuan WANG Shuai GUO Lixue CHEN Chao WANG Xiaoge WANG Xinlei YE Wuwei | 2019 | Journal of Cotton Research2019,2,3: | 3 |

With the development of digital technology, the development of the advanced main control rooms (AMCRs) has become an inexorable trend. Therefore, the positive and the negative effects of AMCRs on human factors engineering need to be evaluated. For this purpose, a simulation system has been studied and developed to quantitatively evaluate a MMI design from the viewpoint of human factors. The simulation system takes advantage of computer simulation technology to simulate an operating process of an interaction between operators and a MMI design under an instruction of an operation procedure of the AMCR of a NPP. Meanwhile, the necessary data are recorded for evaluation. It integrates two editors and one simulator. In the paper, the simulation system is presented in detail.
