2Preoperative diagnosis of malignant pulmonary nodules in lung cancer screening with a radiomics nomogram显示文摘Background:Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide.Its survival rate can be significantly improved by early screening.Biomarkers based on radiomics features have been found to provide important physiological information on tumors and considered as having the potential to be used in the early screening of lung cancer.In this study,we aim to establish a radiomics model and develop a tool to improve the discrimination between benign and malignant pulmonary nodules.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 875 patients with benign or malignant pulmonary nodules who underwent computed tomography(CT)examinations between June 2013 and June 2018.We assigned 612 patients to a training cohort and 263 patients to a validation cohort.Radiomics features were extracted from the CT images of each patient.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)was used for radiomics feature selection and radiomics score calculation.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to develop a classification model and radiomics nomogram.Radiomics score and clinical variables were used to distinguish benign and malignant pulmonary nodules in logistic model.The performance of the radiomics nomogram was evaluated by the area under the curve(AUC),calibration curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow test in both the training and validation cohorts.Results:A radiomics score was built and consisted of 20 features selected by LASSO from 1288 radiomics features in the training cohort.The multivariate logistic model and radiomics nomogram were constructed using the radiomics score and patients’age.Good discrimination of benign and malignant pulmonary nodules was obtained from the training cohort(AUC,0.836;95%confidence interval[CI]:0.793-0.879)and validation cohort(AUC,0.809;95%CI:0.745-0.872).The Hosmer-Lemeshow test also showed good performance for the logistic regression model in the training cohort(P=0.765)and validation cohort(P=0.064).Good alignment with the calibration curve indicated the good performance of the nomogram.Conclusions:The established radiomics nomogram is a noninvasive preoperative prediction tool for malignant pulmonary nodule diagnosis.Validation revealed that this nomogram exhibited excellent discrimination and calibration capacities,suggesting its clinical utility in the early screening of lung cancer.Ailing Liu Zhiheng Wang Yachao Yang Jingtao Wang Xiaoyu Dai Lijie Wang Yuan Lu Fuzhong Xue 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,1:22
3Isolation,Screening,and Optimization of the Fermentation Conditions of Highly Cellulolytic Bacteria from the Hindgut of Holotrichia parallela Larvae(Coleoptera:Scarabaeidae)显示文摘From the hindgut contents of Holotrichia parallela larvae,207 aerobic and facultatively anaerobic cellulolytic bacterial isolates were obtained.These bacterial isolates were assigned to 21 genotypes by amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis(ARDRA).A partial 16 S rDNA sequence analysis and standard biochemical and physiological tests were used for the assignment of the 21 representative isolates.Our results show that the cellulolytic bacterial community is dominated by the Proteobacteria(70.05%),followed by the Actinobacteria(24.15%),the Firmicutes(4.35%),and the Bacteroidetes(1.45%).And among the cellulolytic bacteria,some isolates,Siphonobacter aquaeclarae,Cellulosimicrobium funkei,Citrobacter freundii,Pseudomonas nitroreducens,and so on,are reported to be cellulolytic for the first time in this study.Among these isolates,a novel bacterium,designated Pseudomonas sp.HP207,with the highest endoglucanase productivity was selected for further study.The production of the endoglucanase was optimized by varying various physical culture conditions using a submerged fermentation method.Under the optimized fermentation conditions,the maximum endoglucanase activity of 1.432 U mL-1 in bacterial cultures was obtained,higher than those of the most widely studied bacteria and fungi,which are the attractive candidates for the commercial producer of cellulase.And the crude endoglucanase enzyme was also highly thermostable;approximately 55% of the original activity was maintained after pretreatment at 70°C for 1 h.Thus,from the present study,the bacterium can be added up to the database of cellulolytic bacteria,the scarab gut is an attractive source for the study of novel cellulolytic microorganisms and enzymes useful for cellulose degradation.Ping Sheng Shengwei Huang Qi Wang Ailing Wang Hongyu Zhang 2012华中昆虫研究2012,,1:7
4Mitochondria-targeted antioxidant peptide SS-31 mediates neuroprotection in a rat experimental glaucoma model显示文摘To investigate the neuroprotective effects of the mitochondria-targeted antioxidant Szeto-Schiller peptide 31 (SS-31) in a rat experimental glaucoma model, SS-31 was intraperitoneally (IP) injected into Sprague-Dawley rats, followed by intracameral injection of polystyrene microspheres to induce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). After 6 weeks, electroretinography (ERG) and flash visual-evoked potentials (F-VEPs) were recorded to assess retinal function. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed on retinal cross-sections to measure ganglion cell complex (GCC) thickness. Apoptotic retinal cells were assessed by TUNEL staining. Brn3a-positive retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) were counted in retinal flat mounts via immunofluorescence. The retinal total SOD, SOD2, and MDA expression levels were assessed in retinal tissue homogenates. The cyt c, Baxz and Bcl-2 protein levels in rat retinas were detected by western blot analysis. Bax and Bcl-2 expressions were also evaluated using immunohistochemistry in paraffinized sections. Our results showed that the rats that received microsphere injection developed elevated IOP. SS-31 ameliorated the reductions in the a- and b-wave amplitudes on ERG and the F-VEP amplitude in glaucomatous eyes. GCC thickness was preserved, TUNEL-positive cells were decreased in the retina, and Brn3a-positive RGCs were in creased in the SS-31-treated glaucoma group compared with those in the non-treated glaucoma group. SS-31 significantly reduced MDA levels and increased SOD2 levels after glaucoma induction. Significant suppression of cyt c release, upregulation of Bcl-2, and downregulation of Bax were observed following SS-31 administration. 7Growth Characteristics and Kinetics of Niobium Carbide Coating Obtained on AISI 52100 by Thermal-reactive Diffusion Technique显示文摘Niobium carbide coating was produced by thermal-reactive diffusion technique on AISI 52100 steel in salt bath at 1 123 K, 1 173 K, and 1 223 K for 1, 2, 4, and 6 hours. The salt consisted of borax, sodium fl uoride, boron carbide, and niobium pentoxide. The presence of NbC phase on the steel surface was confi rmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Microscopic observation showed that niobium carbide coating formed on the substrate was smooth and compact. There was a distinct and fl at interface between the coating and substrate. The micro-hardness of niobium carbide coating was 2892±145HV. The thickness of coating ranged from 1.6 μm to 14μm. The forming kinetics of niobium carbide coating was revealed. Moreover, a contour diagram derived from experimental data was graphed for correct selection of process parameters. Some mathematical equations were built for predicting the coating thickness with predetermined processing temperature and time. 9Tuning the intermolecular interaction of A_(2)-A_(1)-D-A_(1)-A_(2) type non-fullerene acceptors by substituent engineering for organic solar cells with ultrahigh V_(OC) of ~1.2 V显示文摘For non-fullerene acceptors(NFAs)with linear A_(2)-A_(1)-D-A_(1)-A_(2) backbone,there are three kinds of possible intermolecular interaction,A_(1)-A_(1),A_(1)-A_(2) and A_(2)-A_(2) stacking.Hence,it is a huge challenge to control this interaction and investigate the effect of intermolecular stacking model on the photovoltaic performance.Here,we adopt a feasible strategy,by utilizing different substituent groups on terminal A2 unit of dicyanomethylene rhodanine(RCN),to modulate this stacking model.According to theoretical calculation results,the molecule BTA3 with ethyl substituent packs via heterogeneous interaction between A_(2) and A_(1) unit in neighboring molecules.Surprisingly,the benzyl group can effectively transform the aggregation of BTA5 into homogeneous packing of A_(2)-A_(2) model,which might be driven by the strong interaction between benzyl and A1(benzotriazole)unit.However,different with benzyl,phenyl end group impedes the intermolecular interaction of BTA4 due to the large steric hindrance.When using a BTA-based D-π-A polymer J52-F as donor according to“Same-A-Strategy”,BTA3-5 could achieve ultrahigh open-circuit voltage(VOC)of 1.17–1.21 V.Finally,BTA5 with benzyl groups realized an improved power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 11.27%,obviously higher than that of BTA3(PCE=9.04%)and BTA4(PCE=5.61%).It is also worth noting that the same trend can be found when using other four classic p-type polymers of P3HT,PTB7,PTB7-Th and PBDB-T.This work not only investigates the intermolecular interaction of A_(2)-A_(1)-D-A_(1)-A_(2) type NFAs for the first time,but also provides a straightforward and universal method to change the interaction model and improve the photovoltaic performance.Xiaochen Wang Ailing Tang Jing Yang Mengzhen Du Jianfeng Li Gongqiang Li Qiang Guo Erjun Zhou 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,11:5

11Breast cancer-specific serum peptide profiles显示文摘Early detection of breast cancer is paramount to successful clinical therapy. Yet, early-stage breast cancer lacks specific symptoms or biomarkers. With the emerging of the mass spectrometric (MS) -based signatures as biomarkers, we investigated breast cancer-related serum profile pattern through class prediction and independent validation, and used Fourier transfer MS to identify breast cancer signature. We now show a distinctive serum peptide pattern that discriminates breast cancer from healthy controls with 93.2% sensitivity and 95.4% specificity. m/z 5901.70 and 4465.74 of ion fragment of FPA and alpha1-antichymotrypsin are found in the signatures that predominantly discriminate breast cancer from healthy individuals. 12Microstructure and penetration behavior of electroformed copper liners of shaped charges during explosive detonation deformation显示文摘The microstructure in the electroformed copper liners of shaped charges prepared with different electrolytes was studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Electron Backscattering Kikuchi Pattern (EBSP) methods. SEM observations revealed the existence of columnar grains in electroformed copper liners of shaped charges formed by electrolyte without any additive and the average grain size is about 3 μm. When an additive is introduced to the electrolyte, the grains formed in the copper liners become equiaxed and finer. EBSP results show that the columnar grain grown during electroformation has the most preferential growth direction, whereas a micro-texture does not exit in the specimen prepared by electrolyte with the additive. 13Increment of antioxidase activity of transgenic tobacco with betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase显示文摘Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in the leaves of transgenic tobacco plants with betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase (BADH) gene was about 36% higher than that in the control plants (parent plants), activities of per-oxidase (POD) and catalase (Cat) increased by about 62% and 88% respectively. Activities of ascorbate peroxidase (AsSPOD), dehydroascorbate redutase (DAsAR) and glu-tathione reductase (GR) in ascorbate-glutothion pathway located at chloroplasts increased by 67.7%, 47.9% and 38.8% respectively. These results indicated that the H2O2 produced by SOD catalyzing superoxide anion radicals (O2-) could be fully decomposed, and could not derive to form the strongest toxicant radicals · OH. This is the first report to elucidate quantitatively that the activities of two kinds of antioxidative enzymes decomposed radicals and active oxygen were matched. 14Induction of xenogeneic islet transplantation tolerance by simultaneously blocking CD28-B7 and OX40-OX40L co-stimulatory pathways显示文摘It has been demonstrated that prolonged graft survival can be achieved through inhibiting the activation of T cells, and addition of soluble CTLA4Ig and OX40Ig proteins to mixed lymphocyte reactions can effectively inhibit T cell proliferation. To explore the potential of this type of treatment in xenotransplantation, we infected streptozotocin-induced diabetic BalB/c mice (H-2d) (200 mg/kg, IV) with 5×108 pfu AdCTLA4Ig-IRES-OX40Ig on day 1 before islets trans-plantation through the tail vein. The results showed that this treatment prolonged the islet xeno-grafts survival significantly. The reaction to exogenous glucose stimulation was normal and the cytokine secretion of the type Th1 cells was inhibited. The AdCTLA4Ig-IRES-OX40Ig-mediated treatment effectively induced the T cells into anergy and the Th1/Th2 cells into deviation. 16Stepwise synthesis of cuprous oxide nanoparticles with adjustable structures and growth model显示文摘By stepwise adding of reducer N2H4·H2O,cuprous oxide(Cu2O)nanoparticles(NPs)with adjustable structures were synthesized.The features of Cu2O NPs were characterized by XRD,TEM and UV-Vis absorption spectra.When the reducer was added into the reactant system at one time,the sizes of the Cu2O NPs are in the range of 120–140 nm.Most Cu2O NPs are solid spheres.As the reducer was divided into two equal parts and stepwisely added,almost all the NPs are hollow spheres with good size(150–170 nm)distribution and dispersity.But when the reducer was divided into three or four equal parts and stepwisely added,the NPs are hollow spheres,core-shell structures or solid spheres,and the sizes distribution of the products is deteriorated.The effect of sodium hydrate(NaOH)was also probed.Addition of NaOH speeded up the nucleation and growth processes of Cu2O NPs.With the alkalinity increase,the shells of the hollow spheres become compact and the thicknesses of the shells increase,but the size distribution of the NPs is deteriorated.The absorption spectra of the Cu2O NPs are tunable.With the shell thicknesses increase,the absorption peaks have red shifts.An inside-outside growth model of Cu2O NPs was proposed to explain the results.The Cu2O single crystalline grains grow not only in the reactant solution,but also inside of the hollow nanospheres.The new Cu2O nanocrystallines can not only aggregate onto the shells of the nano hollow spheres,but also inside and outside of the hollow spheres,which leads to increasing the shell thicknesses of the hollow spheres,forming core-shell structures or small solid spheres of Cu2O NPs,respectively.YANG AiLing WANG YuJin LI ShunPin BAO XiChang YANG RenQiang 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,11:3
17Screening and Treatment of Syphilis for Pregnant Women—China,2011−2018显示文摘What is already known on this topic?The national program of prevention of mother-to-child transmission(PMTCT)of syphilis was initiated in 2011 and scaled to a national level since 2015.A better understanding of the implementation and outcomes of the program on PMTCT of syphilis is needed for future strategies to achieve the World Health Organization(WHO)goal of elimination of motherto-child transmission(EMTCT)of syphilis.What is added by this report Between 2011 and 2018,as the coverage of syphilis screening of pregnant women and treatment for syphilis-seropositive pregnant women and their infants have increased consistently,the incidence of congenital syphilis was significantly reduced from 91.6 cases per 100,000 live births to 18.4 cases per 100,000.Treatment rates and adequate treatment rates of syphilis-seropositive pregnant women were below the criteria of validation of EMTCT of syphilis and regional disparities were found.What are the implications for public health practice?We recommend continuing to strengthen the current PMTCT intervention strategies with further commitments to achieve the targets set by the WHO’s dual EMTCT of HIV and syphilis.Barriers to achieving high coverage of adequate treatment should be investigated and addressed at the provincial level to ensure prompt treatment for syphilis-seropositive pregnant women.Yaping Qiao Xiaoyan Wang Qian Wang Zhen Li Xi Jin Ailing Wang 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,26:2
18Chicory polysaccharides alleviate high-fat diet-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease via alteration of lipid metabolism-and inflammation-related gene expression显示文摘Administration of chicory polysaccharides(CP) can modify lipid metabolism, improve dyslipidemia, and reduce liver inflammation, all of which may help alleviate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD). However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to gain further understanding of the potential molecular mechanisms that mediate the protective effects of CP against NAFLD via transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. Hepatic RNA-sequencing analysis demonstrated that long-term intake of CP restored expression of lipid metabolism-related genes Xbp1, Insig2, and Cth in NAFLD rats, thereby inhibiting de novo lipogenesis. Moreover, CP consumption restored expression levels of genes involved in pro-inflammatory responses, such as Irf1. 19Incidence of persistent and high-risk human papillomavirus infection and associated factors among HIV-positive women in China, 2015-2016显示文摘Background:Persistent human papillomavirus(HPV)infection is the necessary factor for cervical cancer.Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-positive women are a high-risk population for cervical cancer,but little is known about persistent HPV infection among HIV-positive women in China.We aimed to investigate the persistence and incidence of infection with high-risk HPV(hrHPV)and associated factors among HIV-positive women in China.Method:Using a prospective observational study design,we collected data from 670 HIV-positive women in five counties of three provinces through interviews,medical record reviews,health examination,and laboratory tests at a baseline survey in 2015 and a follow-up survey in 2016.We tested HIVpositive women for hrHPV infection using the Cobas 4800 HPV test,and analyzed factors associated with persistence and new incidence of hrHPV infection using logistic regression.Results:After an average of 15 months at follow-up,the persistence and new incidence rates of hrHPV infection were 38.0%(46/121,95%CI:29.2%-46.8%)and 8.3%(35/420,95%CI:5.7%-11.1%),respectively.HIV-positive women in Yunnan and Guangxi were more likely to have persistent hrHPV infections than those in Xinjiang(aOR=3.18,95%CI:1.00-10.14,p=0.05;aOR=6.38,95%CI:2.29-17.77,p<0.001).Migrant women had a higher rate of new hrHPV incidence than local women(aOR=4.48,95%CI:1.65-12.15,p=0.003).HIV-positive women from Xinjiang were 6.5 times more likely to be newly infected with hrHPV than those from Yunnan(95%CI:2.40-17.60,p<0.001).HIV-positive women with HBV infection had a higher risk of being infected with hrHPV than those without HBV infection(aOR=3.48,95%CI:1.13-10.71,p=0.029).Conclusions:The persistence and new incidence rates of hrHPV infection among HIV-positive women were high and varied significantly between regions.HBV infection and being among the migrant population were associated with new hrHPV infection.Yaping Qiao Ailing Wang Liwen Fang Linhong Wang 2021Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2021,1,3:2
20Fluorescence enhancement of Tb^(3+) complexes by adding silica-coated silver nanoparticles显示文摘Six kinds of terbium ternary complexes with halo-benzoic acids were synthesized. Their compositions were determined by C, H elemental analyzer and EDTA titration. The infrared spectra, ultraviolet absorption spectra, and fluorescence spectra were also measured to identify the complexes. Elemental analysis showed that the compositions of these complexes were Tb(p-Br BA)3?H2O, Tb(p-Cl BA)3?2H2O, Tb(p-FBA)3?H2O, Tb(o-FBA)3?2H2O, Tb(o-Cl BA)3?H2O, and Tb(o-Br BA)3?H2O, respectively. The monodispersed Ag@Si O2 core-shell nanoparticles with silica thicknesses of 10, 15, and 25 nm were successfully prepared and characterized by transmission-electron microscopy. Fluorescence intensities of the complexes were detected before and after Ag@Si O2 core-shell nanoparticles were added; the enhancement times were related to the silica-shell thickness. The fluorescence enhancement times were largest when the thickness of the silica shell was 25 nm. The mechanism may be attributed to the localized surface-plasmon resonance. Furthermore, the enhancement effect of terbium fluoro-benzoate complexes was the strongest in these complexes.
