3Abscisic Acid Receptors:Past,Present and Future显示文摘Abscisic acid(ABA) is the key plant stress hormone.Consistent with the earlier studies in support of the presence of both membrane-and cytoplasm-localized ABA receptors,recent studies have identified multi-ple ABA receptors located in various subcellular locations.These include a chloroplast envelope-localized receptor(the H subunit of Chloro-plast Mg2+-chelatase/ABA Receptor),two plasma membrane-localized receptors(G-protein Coupled Receptor 2 and GPCR-type G proteins),and one cytosol/nucleus-localized Pyrabactin Resistant(PYR)/PYR-Like(PYL)/Regulatory Component of ABA Receptor 1(RCAR).Although the downstream molecular events for most of the identified ABA receptors are currently unknown,one of them,PYR/PYL/RCAR was found to directly bind and regulate the activity of a long-known central regulator of ABA signaling,the A-group protein phosphatase 2C(PP2C).Together with the Sucrose Non-fermentation Kinase Subfamily 2(SnRK2s) protein kinases,a central signaling complex(ABA-PYR-PP2Cs-SnRK2s) that is responsible for ABA signal perception and transduction is supported by abundant genetic,physiological,biochemical and structural evidence.The identification of multiple ABA receptors has advanced our understanding of ABA signal perception and transduction while adding an extra layer of complexity.Jianjun Guo Xiaohan Yang David J. 4Why is it difficult to accurately predict the COVID-19 epidemic?显示文摘Since the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan City in December of 2019,numerous model predictions on the COVID-19 epidemics in Wuhan and other parts of China have been reported.These model predictions have shown a wide range of variations.In our study,we demonstrate that nonidentifiability in model calibrations using the confirmed-case data is the main reason for such wide variations.Using the Akaike Information Criterion(AIC)for model selection,we show that an SIR model performs much better than an SEIR model in representing the information contained in the confirmed-case data.This indicates that predictions using more complex models may not be more reliable compared to using a simpler model.We present our model predictions for the COVID-19 epidemic in Wuhan after the lockdown and quarantine of the city on January 23,2020.We also report our results of modeling the impacts of the strict quarantine measures undertaken in the city after February 7 on the time course of the epidemic,and modeling the potential of a second outbreak after the return-to-work in the city.Weston C.Roda Marie B.Varughese Donglin Han Michael Y.Li 2020Infectious Disease Modelling2020,5,1:5

6Clinical disease registries in acute myocardial infarction显示文摘Disease registries,containing systematic records of cases,have for nearly 100 years been valuable in exploring and understanding various aspects of cardiology. This is particularly true for myocardial infarction,where such registries have provided both epidemiological and clinical information that was not readily available from randomised controlled trials in highlyselected populations. Registries,whether mandated or voluntary,prospective or retrospective in their analysis,have at their core a common study population and common data definitions.
