1特纳综合征患者血清转化生长因子β的变化显示文摘目的:观察转化生长因子β(transforming growth factor-beta,TGFβ)在特纳综合征(Turner syndrome,TS)患者血清中的变化及其与内分泌和心血管参数的关系。方法:选择TS患者和健康志愿者妇女(对照组)各40例,采用酶联免疫方法测定血清中的TGFβ1、TGFβ2及转化生长因子受体(endoglin)。所有TS患者均行心血管系统磁共振和超声检查。结果:TS患者血清中TGFβ1和endoglin水平均高于对照组(P<0.000 1),而TGFβ2的水平则低于对照组(P<0.000 1)。TGFβ的改变与年龄、血压、血小板、甲状腺功能、体重指数或心血管疾病的分型无关。结论:TS患者血清中TGFβ显著性改变对疾病的研究具有重要意义。周键 Sruthi AREPALLI Clara M.CHENG Vladimir K.BAKALOV Carolyn A.BONDY 2012北京大学学报(医学版)2012,44,5:2
2Solvent-free fabrication of broadband WS2 photodetectors on paper显示文摘Paper-based devices have attracted extensive attention due to the growing demand for disposable flexible electronics.Herein,we integrate semiconducting devices on cellulose paper substrate through a simple abrasion technique that yields high-performance photodetectors.A solvent-free WS_(2) film deposited on paper favors an effective electron-hole separation and hampers recombination.The as-prepared paper-based WS2 photodetectors exhibit a sensitive photoresponse over a wide spectral range spanning from ultraviolet(365 nm)to near-infrared(940 nm).Their responsivity value reaches up to~270 mA W^(−1) at 35 V under a power density of 35 mW cm^(−2).A high performance photodetector was achieved by controlling the environmental exposure as the ambient oxygen molecules were found to decrease the photoresponse and stability of the WS_(2) photodetector.Furthermore,we have built a spectrometer using such a paperbased WS_(2) device as the photodetecting component to illustrate its potential application.The present work could promote the development of cost-effective disposable photodetection devices.Wenliang Zhang Onur Çakıroğlu Abdullah Al-Enizi Ayman Nafady Xuetao Gan Xiaohua Ma Sruthi Kuriakose Yong Xie Andres Castellanos-Gomez 2023Opto-Electronic Advances2023,6,3:2

4Quantification of submarine groundwater discharge(SGD) using radon,radium tracers and nutrient inputs in Punnakayal, south coast of India显示文摘The present study focused on the estimation of submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)and the effects of nutrient fluxes due to the SGD process.The parameters of SGD such as magnitude,character,and nutrient flux in Punnakayal region of South East coast of India were evaluated using multiple tracers of groundwater inputs in 2019.It was found that the elevated values for the tracers in the study area,displayed a gradational change in the values as move from estuarine part to the offshore.Simultaneous occurrence of fresh and saline SGD is observed on the study sites.Also,indicated that the SGD fluxes ranged from 0.04 to 0.12 m^3 m^-2d^-1 at the estuary and0.03-0.15 m^3 m^-2d^-1at the groundwater site.A substantially increased value for 222 Rn activities is distinguished in the estuary to values over 312 dpm L^-1.Nutrient embellishments were generally greatest at locations with substantial meteoric elements in groundwater;however,the recirculation of saltwater through the geological formation could provide a way of transferring terrestrially-derived nutrients to the coastal zone at many places.S.Selvam P.Muthukumar Sruthy Sajeev S.Venkatramanan S.Y.Chung K.Brindha D.S.Suresh Babu R.Murugan 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,1:1

10Poly(I:C)preconditioning protects the heart against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury through TLR3/PI3K/Akt-dependent pathway显示文摘Emerging evidence suggests that Toll-like receptors(TLRs)ligands pretreatment may play a vital role in the progress of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury.As the ligand of TLR3,polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid(poly(I:C)),a synthetic double-stranded RNA,whether its preconditioning can exhibit a cardioprotective phenotype remains unknown.Here,we report the protective effect of poly(I:C)pretreatment in acute myocardial I/R injury by activating TLR3/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.Poly(I:C)pretreatment leads to a significant reduction of infarct size,improvement of cardiac function,and downregulation of inflammatory cytokines and apoptotic molecules compared with controls.Subsequently,our data demonstrate that phosphorylation of TLR3 tyrosine residue and its interaction with PI3K is enhanced,and protein levels of phospho-PI3K and phospho-Akt are both increased after poly(I:C)pretreatment,while knock out of TLR3 suppresses the cardioprotection of poly(I:C)preconditioning through a decreased activation of PI3K/Akt signaling.Moreover,inhibition of p85 PI3K by the administration of LY294002 in vivo and knockdown of Akt by siRNA in vitro significantly abolish poly(I:C)preconditioning-induced cardioprotective effect.In conclusion,our results reveal that poly(I:C)preconditioning exhibits essential protection in myocardial I/R injury via its modulation of TLR3,and the downstream PI3K/Akt signaling,which may provide a potential pharmacologic target for perioperative cardioprotection.Erya Chen Chan Chen Zhendong Niu Lu Gan Qiao Wang Ming Li XingWei Cai Rui Gao Sruthi Katakam Hai Chen Shu Zhang Ronghua Zhou Xu Cheng Yanhua Qiu Hai Yu Tao Zhu Jin Liu 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:1
11Uveitis secondary to cancer therapeutics显示文摘Cancer cells provide a therapeutic challenge as they impede the immune system and its response to malignancy.Checkpoint inhibitors and targeted therapy provide novel methods for the treatment of these metastases.These use of immunotherapy and targeted therapy is widespread,with indications including metastatic melanoma,squamous cell carcinoma,non-small cell lung cancer,colon cancer,gastric cancer,renal cell carcinoma,Merkel cell carcinoma and urothelial cancer.Checkpoint inhibitors act upon three main receptors or ligands to achieve this goal:cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4(CTLA-4),programmed death protein(PD-1)and programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1).Additionally,targeted therapies counter the mutations leading to cancer cell proliferation,which include the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MEK)pathway and BRAF enzyme.However,they are known to cause ocular side effects in up to 1%of patients,with uveitis comprising a fraction of these patients.These secondary uveitis manifestations can present with severity ranging from solitary anterior uveitis to panuveitis,sometimes in concert with systemic manifestations such as Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada(VKH)-like syndrome.The uveitis caused by these medications can present both diagnostic and treatment challenges that can complicate patient care.Systemic steroids have demonstrated mixed data regarding the reduction of cancer therapeutic efficacy,and as a result,immunotherapy and targeted therapy are often held when systemic steroids are used for immune-related adverse event(irAE)treatment.Local steroids,although prone to their own set of adverse effects,may therefore be preferable to systemic steroids in the treatment of uveitis secondary to cancer therapeutics.In this review,we provide an overview of uveitis secondary to targeted therapy and immunotherapy,as well as treatment considerations.Sruthi Arepalli Arthi G.Venkat 2020Annals of Eye Science2020,,2:1

16Management of severe spasticity with and without dystonia with intrathecal baclofen in the pediatric population:a cross-sectional study显示文摘Objective To investigate the differences in delivery mode,daily dose,and catheter tip location in pediatric patients using intrathecal baclofen(ITB)pumps with spasticity plus dystonia versus spasticity alone.Methods A single-center,cross-sectional study was performed by collecting retrospective data from electronic medical records.Demographic and diagnostic information was obtained,comparing patients with spasticity with or without dystonia.The data were analyzed for group differences using a two-tailed Student’s t-test.Categorical data were analyzed for group differences using Pearson’s χ^(2) test.Results A total of 137 patients met the criteria.The majority(114)had spasticity plus dystonia whereas only 23 were documented as spasticity alone.Simple continuous dosing was the most common delivery mode,but flex dosing was used more than twice as frequently with spasticity plus dystonia compared with spasticity alone(42%vs 17%).Patients with spasticity plus dystonia also had more rostral catheter tip locations.Conclusions While it has been discussed anecdotally,this study confirms the supposition that patients with spasticity plus dystonia have increased dose requirements when compared with those with spasticity alone.Although there are no clear standards of care when managing these patients,they are often on higher daily dosages,are more likely to require flexed dosing method,and have higher catheter placements.Still,there are few studies that demonstrate improvements in dystonia with the use of ITB.In general,these patients would benefit from the development of universal standardizations as well as the confirmation that this is an appropriate treatment.Joslyn Gober Michelle Seymour Hongyu Miao Daniel J.Curry Sruthi P.Thomas 2022World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2022,5,3:0
17Quantification of vascular morphology in optical coherence tomography angiography in primary open angle glaucoma显示文摘open-angle glaucoma(POAG)using optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)scans.Methods:This is a retrospective and cross-sectional study which include healthy individuals and individuals with POAG that underwent OCTA imaging at an academic center's glaucoma clinic.We analyzed OCTA scans of the macula and optic nerve head(ONH)of one eye from each subject to quantitatively measure vessel density(VD),vessel length density(VLD),and branchpoint density(BPD).We compared these 3 parameters between the healthy and POAG groups and used logistic regression classification models to determine their diagnostic value in differentiating healthy and glaucomatous eyes.Results:We included 49 healthy subjects and 49 subjects with POAG.After age-adjusted analysis,the parameters of VD,VLD,and BPD were significantly reduced in eyes with POAG(P<0.001)in all scan layers and most significantly around the ONH.The parameter with the best performances were radial peripapillary capillary(RPC)VD[AUC(areas under the curve):0.939(0.891,0.987)]which had statistically higher performances(P<0.05)than parameters in the superficial or deep layers.All 3 parameters in the RPC layer had statistically similar performances.Conclusions:We found that VD,VLD,and BPD were reduced in glaucomatous eyes.The morphologic parameters of VLD and BPD had similar performances to the traditional parameter of VD in RPC layers.Our results suggest that vascular morphology parameters may provide additional value in the diagnosis and evaluation of glaucoma.Praneeth Kalva Rubeel Akram Priya Mekala Monica Patel Sruthi Suresh Karanjit S.Kooner 2023Advances in Ophthalmology Practice and Research2023,3,3:0

19Evaluation of root traits and water use efficiency of different cotton genotypes in the presence or absence of a soil-hardpan显示文摘Cotton(Gossypium spp.) is an important fiber and oil crop grown worldwide. Water and nutrient stresses are major issues affecting cotton production globally. Root traits are critical in improving water and nutrient uptake and maintaining plant productivity under optimal as well as drought conditions.However, root traits have rarely been utilized in cotton breeding programs, a major reason being the lack of information regarding genetic variability for root traits. The objective of this research was to evaluate ten selected cotton genotypes for root traits and water use efficiency. The tested genotypes included germplasm lines(PD 1 and PD 695) and cultivars that are currently grown in the southeastern USA(PHY 499 WRF, PHY 444 WRF, PHY 430 W3 FE, DP 1646 B2 XF, DP 1538 B2 XF, DP 1851 B3 XF, NG5007 B2 XF, and ST 5020 GLT). Experiments were conducted under controlled environmental conditions in 2018 and 2019. A hardpan treatment was included in the second year to evaluate the effect of a soil hardpan on root traits and water use efficiency. Genotype PHY 499 WRF ranked at the top and NG5007 B2 XF ranked at the bottom for root morphological traits(total and fine root length, surface area,and volume) and root weight. PHY 499 WRF was also one of the best biomass producers and had high water use efficiency. PHY 444 WRF, PHY 430 W3 FE, and PD-1 were the other best genotypes in terms of root traits and water use efficiency. All genotypes had higher values for root traits and water use efficiency under hardpan conditions. This trend indicates a horizontal proliferation of root systems when they incur a stress imposed by a hardpan.
